  6.
  7. Mr. Caruso,
  8.
  9. THank you for taking time from your schedule to respond. I have been asking about this property for over a year now and I was looking for an update, (yes I know you just came on board in February).
  10.
  11. As far as your comment that the Mayor explained in an earlier email....I do not know what was said if he sent one, because I have not received one. So if You, Mayor would like to resend I would appreciate it.
  12.
  13. I also understand this property has benefited from the construction company that utilized the property during the working on the water lines, which in my opinion is not what the property was intended for when purchased.
  14.
  15. Thank you for letting me know that this is being review as to what steps the city can take and as always, I look forward to hearing the progress.
  16.
  17. Thank you
  18.

  25. Subject: Right of Reverter
  26.
  27. Dear Councilperson:
  28.
  29. In response to your e-mail of today regarding the property located in Lansingburgh on the corner of 2nd Avenue and 125th Street (the “McGreivey” property) and the City of Troy’s right of reverter, please be advised that the Law Department has commenced the process of reviewing the City’s legal rights and remedies with respect to getting that property back via an exercise of that right of reverter.
  30.
  31. As the Mayor explained to you in an earlier e-mail, there is a legal process involved and the reverter does not happen automatically. As I understand it, the right of reverter does not mean that title to the subject property automatically reverts back to the City of Troy. In order to make a determination as to how this can be achieved, I am reviewing the relevant facts and the applicable law and procedure involved in that legal process.
  32.
  33. I respectfully ask that you be patient and permit my staff and I the necessary time to ascertain the rules and requirements involved in this process and to plan/proceed accordingly.
  34.
  35. Thank you.
  36.
  37. James A. Caruso, Esq.
  38.
  39. City of Troy Corporation Counsel
