  1. Ideas Sunday Night Chat
  2.
  3. (17:59:33) Meta: Imma Idle as always
  4. (18:00:04) TailsMK4: Idling as well, I'm still trying to BP grind...
  5. (18:00:17) MegaBossMan: I'll be here as always.
  6. (18:00:36) ThatGuyNamedMike: I've gotten to loathe BP grinding now. It's gotten hyper slow. I mean, REALLY slow.
  7. (18:00:38) MegaBossMan: I might have to leave early, but hopefully, it won't come to that.
  8. (18:00:56) Tobyjoey: I'll be here as long as it takes the guards to put me back into my padded room.
  9. (18:01:25) ThatGuyNamedMike: Didn't see you there, T.J.! How are things?
  10. (18:01:59) Tobyjoey: Is there a word that sounds more bland than bland? If so, that's it.
  11. (18:02:06) ZeroDXZ: hheheheh
  12. (18:02:16) ZeroDXZ: stoic
  13. (18:02:19) ThatGuyNamedMike: Boring. :P
  14. (18:02:20) ZeroDXZ: stock
  15. (18:02:22) Tobyjoey: Some strange concoction of bland, dull, and boring
  16. (18:02:37) ThatGuyNamedMike: Blandulloring.
  17. (18:02:43) ThatGuyNamedMike: x)
  18. (18:02:48) ZeroDXZ: .....
  19. (18:02:49) Tobyjoey: Stotic might actually be a good word. Thanks Zero
  20. (18:02:49) ZeroDXZ: no
  21. (18:02:56) ZeroDXZ: Stoic
  22. (18:03:01) ZeroDXZ: Stoic is boring
  23. (18:03:02) ZeroDXZ: empty
  24. (18:03:04) ZeroDXZ: nothingness
  25. (18:03:08) ZeroDXZ: or in car terms
  26. (18:03:10) ZeroDXZ: as Stock
  27. (18:03:21) ZeroDXZ: it means "Original" model
  28. (18:04:06) MegaBossMan: Alright, we get the introductions out of the way?
  29. (18:04:18) Meta: HNeh.
  30. (18:04:20) ThatGuyNamedMike: Please tell me I'm not the only one with ideas, this week.
  31. (18:04:25) Meta: Anyways, About Me;
  32. (18:04:30) ThatGuyNamedMike: Pleasepleasepleaseplease.
  33. (18:04:32) ZeroDXZ: i might have some......
  34. (18:04:59) Meta: I'm Still grinding. Complement as you want. (BTW take the 600 BIllion for ppl pic!)
  35. (18:05:01) MegaBossMan: Tails, didn't you have a few ideas last week?
  36. (18:05:02) Meta: Let
  37. (18:05:09) Meta: Let's Begin.
  38. (18:05:28) TailsMK4: I guess they weren't mentioned...
  39. (18:05:50) TailsMK4: I only added a few things to my thread.
  40. (18:06:06) ZeroDXZ: i actually have a good one.....
  41. (18:06:15) TailsMK4: But, I guess I'll just mention this one:
  42. (18:06:19) MegaBossMan: Can I ring the gong?
  43. (18:06:35) TailsMK4: Go ahead. I actually have to do something right now anyway.
  44. (18:06:37) TailsMK4: So...typing...
  45. (18:06:54) MegaBossMan rings the gong, yadda, yadda, yadda
  46. (18:07:03) TailsMK4: How would you guys feel about seeing how much overkill your robots sustained after being dealt a disabling blow by your opponent?
  47. (18:07:21) ThatGuyNamedMike: I wouldn't mind that, myself.
  48. (18:07:35) MegaBossMan: Doesn't hurt either way for me.
  49. (18:07:45) Meta: Seems Ok.
  50. (18:07:54) ThatGuyNamedMike: More proof for me to show Adrian when it comes to Crits. :P
  51. (18:08:28) TailsMK4: That was the only one I could note that other people could comment on. The rest of it was more for Adrian.
  52. (18:08:42) TailsMK4: Regarding AI and the fact Sky Ridge is the only field that reduces Time.
  53. (18:09:15) Tobyjoey: Air Man has no time for your silly games.
  54. (18:09:21) ThatGuyNamedMike: We still don't have any fields that address Shield, yet. :P
  55. (18:09:54) ThatGuyNamedMike: Or Neutral, for that matter.
  56. (18:09:59) ZeroDXZ: .... :I
  57. (18:10:20) TailsMK4: So will there be any mention of news tonight, MBM, or saving it for next time?
  58. (18:10:28) TailsMK4: And there won't be any for Neutral, Mikey.
  59. (18:10:57) MegaBossMan: Alright, you guys want the short piece of news?
  60. (18:11:12) Meta: All the News we can Get.
  61. (18:11:14) ThatGuyNamedMike: Yesplease.
  62. (18:11:29) MegaBossMan: Now, don't get your hopes up, this is only a minor update.
  63. (18:12:07) MegaBossMan: Most of the slight changes are still being worked on, so that means no screenshots. Sorry, everyone.
  64. (18:12:13) Meta: that's happening when the Main update to the whole game comes out.
  65. (18:12:36) MegaBossMan: First piece of news, the robot editor is being redone so that transferring robots isn't a hassle like it is now.
  66. (18:12:48) Meta: ...Dragging them.,
  67. (18:12:51) Meta: *.
  68. (18:12:59) MegaBossMan: In the current system we have, we have to click on a link, and manually pick the doctor.
  69. (18:13:20) MegaBossMan: However, in the updated version, it's simply a matter of drag-and-drop.
  70. (18:13:30) ThatOneEnderMan: Yay!
  71. (18:13:40) TailsMK4: Transferring robots wasn't that big of a deal for me. Having to transfer robots just to pick another ability is the hassle for me.
  72. (18:13:41) MegaBossMan: If you want Bubble Man in Light's campaign, you simply pick him up and drag him across.
  73. (18:13:51) TheDoc: Sorry I'm late
  74. (18:14:11) ThatOneEnderMan: Trust me, trying to transfer 30 robots to 1 doc is tedious as heck.
  75. (18:14:36) TailsMK4: I actually have to go now. Was this it, MBM?
  76. (18:14:40) MegaBossMan: There's also going to be a much better version of changing items and equipping items that doesn't revolve around in the HTML drop downs.
  77. (18:14:54) TheDoc: That's nice
  78. (18:15:12) MegaBossMan: However, this system is still getting work done, so it's not completely finished last time I checked.
  79. (18:15:19) Meta: cool.
  80. (18:15:27) ThatOneEnderMan: Alright then. Thats all dandy-o.
  81. (18:15:55) MegaBossMan: Adrian is also in the process of putting the Prototype on GitHub, so other developers can browse the code and make suggestions and fixes as well.
  82. (18:16:08) MegaBossMan: [I'm honestly....Not fond of that last one...]
  83. (18:16:18) MegaBossMan: But, that's it for news tonight!
  84. (18:16:44) MegaBossMan: Sorry it's not much, but hopefully you guys are alright with that?
  85. (18:16:50) TheDoc: That's fine. I was about to go play Smash with the people in the floor lobby if there's nothing else.
  86. (18:16:58) MegaBossMan: After all, we don't want to sweat out Adrian in his line of wokr.
  87. (18:17:00) MegaBossMan: *work
  88. (18:17:05) TheDoc: But if there are any arguments, ideas, etc. now is the time
  89. (18:17:15) MegaBossMan: Yes, now is the time.
  90. (18:17:32) Meta: Remember:
  91. (18:17:42) TailsMK4: I see. Got nothing to say, so I'm off. I'll comment on people's ideas later.
  92. (18:17:49) Meta: Volunteers should act FAST.
  93. (18:18:39) TheDoc: Also, about having an alternation between idea and news, unless there's easily enough news to maintain this, I feel like this would be pressuring developers to make something to share in the news sessions, so why not just go back to the old way?
  94. (18:18:43) Meta: Because we've had SNC's that dragged on.
  95. (18:18:57) TheDoc: We've also had very short SNCs
  96. (18:19:16) Meta: By dragged on, I mean 20 Minutes of no ideas.
  97. (18:19:37) MegaBossMan: That's why we resort to ideas if Adrian feels the pressure to release.
  98. (18:19:40) MegaBossMan: As in, this meeting.
  99. (18:20:05) MegaBossMan: Maybe I should change the wording to something like "News in special SNCs?"
  100. (18:20:24) TheDoc: When you said this chat would be "News Ideas" I was kinda confused...
  101. (18:20:35) MegaBossMan: I striked out the news, Doc.
  102. (18:21:16) MegaBossMan: But no, we should probably only save for News when Adrian has news to share.
  103. (18:21:22) TheDoc: I must have not noticed that. The stirkethru was pretty thin.
  104. (18:21:30) TheDoc: *strikethru
  105. (18:21:59) MegaBossMan: Would everyone be fine with that? Just go constantly with ideas unless Adrian has anything to intervene with?
  106. (18:22:06) TheDoc: Yes
  107. (18:22:22) MegaBossMan: I'll obviously warn you about what type of meeting it is the day before, though.
  108. (18:22:24) TheDoc: That's actually what I was hoping for; I just didn't know it myself :P
  109. (18:22:36) TheDoc: I'm CRAZEH that way
  110. (18:22:41) Meta: ...Er... Anyone with ideas?
  111. (18:22:49) TheDoc: ^
  112. (18:23:10) Meta: ....ANYONE?
  113. (18:23:34) TheDoc: If there's no one then I suppose the buck stops here
  114. (18:23:38) TheDoc: I mean the chat
  115. (18:23:38) MegaBossMan: http://rpg.megamanpoweredup.net/_preview/documents/mission-progression-by-chapter.txt
  116. (18:23:49) MegaBossMan: Would anyone like to discuss the positioning of this document?
  117. (18:24:14) MegaBossMan: Because I for one can't understand the reasoning of fighting Sunstar before you fight the Stardroids.
  118. (18:24:56) MegaBossMan: In chapter 3, you fight Sunstar and Trill.
  119. (18:25:14) MegaBossMan: Once we get to Chapter 6, we're fighting the Stardroids.
  120. (18:25:23) MegaBossMan: Does that seem...Strange to everyone else?
  121. (18:25:46) ThatOneEnderMan: A little, yes.
  122. (18:25:49) Tobyjoey: It seems kinda odd you see Doc Robot in Phase 2, even though you don't see a MM3 bot for a while.
  123. (18:26:24) TheDoc: it does seem like bosses are there for the sake of having bosses but I assume this is fairly tentative
  124. (18:26:24) Meta: True
  125. (18:26:37) Meta: Ok:
  126. (18:26:39) MegaBossMan: Then we should probably work it out, shouldn't we?
  127. (18:26:45) Meta: "Trill Attack/Defense/Speed"
  128. (18:26:59) MegaBossMan: Yes, you fight a different version of Trill for each doctor.
  129. (18:27:15) Meta: and... Cache Bots.
  130. (18:27:17) ThatGuyNamedMike: I personally would jut prefer fighting 3 different people.
  131. (18:27:17) Meta: brb
  132. (18:27:25) ThatGuyNamedMike: *just prefer
  133. (18:27:36) MegaBossMan: You know I think an end chapter would need?
  134. (18:27:42) MegaBossMan: *know what I
  135. (18:27:52) ThatGuyNamedMike: an optional superboss?
  136. (18:28:28) MegaBossMan: A staple of the series in the Wily Castle is this whole "Boss Rush" thing.
  137. (18:28:29) TheDoc: -__- I don't think so, Mike
  138. (18:28:31) ThatOneEnderMan: Hey wait a second, does anyone know a game called Rockman Strategy? This remindes me of this for soem reaason.
  139. (18:28:46) MegaBossMan: You fight 8 Robot Masters in a row, you know?
  140. (18:29:13) MegaBossMan: I would think we could gather up 8 Bosses, and put them up against the player, you know?
  141. (18:29:41) ThatGuyNamedMike: @ Ender: I've heard of it, but, it's an overseas game, no?
  142. (18:29:45) TheDoc: Right now, I'm trying to understand what the mission progression is going to look like
  143. (18:29:51) MegaBossMan: Obviously, this wouldn't be until the very end of the game, because this sounds pretty difficult, but it's just something that always seems to flow well, you know?
  144. (18:30:00) TheDoc: I'm a bit befuddled. Dy have to beat the game with one doctor to unlock the next?
  145. (18:30:11) MegaBossMan: No, you have all three from the start.
  146. (18:30:23) MegaBossMan: They also all start at level 1, now.
  147. (18:30:25) ThatOneEnderMan: @Mike Yes, but it has very similar "Phases" in the way it works.
  148. (18:30:36) MegaBossMan: No more "Level 22 Toad Man fight."
  149. (18:31:07) MegaBossMan: (whispers to TheDoc) By the way, you remember the minutes?
  150. (18:31:10) ThatGuyNamedMike: This, of course, means that you can't transfer then until later, riiiiiiiiiiight?
  151. (18:31:26) MegaBossMan: Not until you get past a certain key point, yes.
  152. (18:31:34) ThatGuyNamedMike: =)
  153. (18:31:48) TheDoc: (whispers) No I came in midway and forgot. I can start that right now if you want, although this doesn't seem like it will last long...
  154. (18:31:55) ThatOneEnderMan: Key point? Like a key or something?
  155. (18:32:09) MegaBossMan: No, an important part of the game.
  156. (18:32:23) Meta: :P
  157. (18:32:30) MegaBossMan: (whispers to TheDoc) Sent what I had to you.
  158. (18:32:38) Meta: So,
  159. (18:32:48) Meta: We can play all 3 of the docs at the beginning?
  160. (18:32:54) Meta: Also,
  161. (18:32:56) MegaBossMan: Anyone, the boss rush idea?
  162. (18:33:13) Meta: ...Tails mentioned about a BP Reset.
  163. (18:33:23) Tobyjoey: It would seem appropriate, considering this is a MM game
  164. (18:33:29) Meta: For JUST BP.
  165. (18:33:40) Meta: ...Anyways, Boss rush is a good idea.
  166. (18:33:43) MegaBossMan: I know some people think 8v8s drag on, but personally, I love the idea.
  167. (18:34:21) MegaBossMan: Despite this being a RPG, it still should contain the elements from the MM series that we CAN include.
  168. (18:34:50) MegaBossMan: Also, about the document...
  169. (18:35:07) MegaBossMan: Does everyone remember the talk of two separate forms for King?
  170. (18:35:16) ThatOneEnderMan: Hm. I got a idea. What if once you beat all of the Docs you unlock a special "final" Chapter? That has a some kind of final final boss?
  171. (18:35:17) MegaBossMan: The Shield and Axe form?
  172. (18:35:17) TheDoc: (whispers) Got it. Now to scroll back up and minutize it...
  173. (18:35:26) Meta: ...
  174. (18:35:30) MegaBossMan: Ender, that's phase 5 :P
  175. (18:35:43) MegaBossMan: Ooooh, I see what you're saying!
  176. (18:35:49) Meta: I've seen it in MM&B walkthroughs
  177. (18:35:53) MegaBossMan: Sadly, due to technical limitations, we can't do it as of now, but....
  178. (18:35:54) ThatOneEnderMan: Like Sonic Adventure 2 did.
  179. (18:36:01) ThatGuyNamedMike: You see it in Sonic Adventure, too.
  180. (18:36:06) ThatGuyNamedMike: Super Sonic.
  181. (18:36:07) MegaBossMan: I, Mike, and Adrian had this long talk about a fourth "special" campaign.
  182. (18:36:30) MegaBossMan: So, if we can ever get past the problems, maybe we could include this "special" post-game campaign.
  183. (18:36:32) ThatOneEnderMan: And have something like Super Battle vs like a 1000 cosmo man.
  184. (18:36:32) Meta: AH, Yes.
  185. (18:36:40) ThatGuyNamedMike: They we for it, and I wasa gainst, of course. As it should be.
  186. (18:36:42) ThatGuyNamedMike: :P
  187. (18:36:45) Meta: Adrian also Had an idea of A New Game + Reset.
  188. (18:36:52) MegaBossMan: I personally love the idea, myself.
  189. (18:37:25) MegaBossMan: I don't want to get these major hopes up though, so don't be disappointed if we only ever see 3 campaigns.
  190. (18:37:47) MegaBossMan: After all, we have some technical stuff blocking our path, but if we can ever get past that, who knows?
  191. (18:39:24) MegaBossMan: Anyone home?
  192. (18:39:30) ThatGuyNamedMike: No. :P
  193. (18:39:46) ThatGuyNamedMike: I'm waiting for you to finish, though.
  194. (18:39:55) MegaBossMan: No, I ended my statement.
  195. (18:40:03) MegaBossMan: Oh, the King thing!
  196. (18:40:17) ThatGuyNamedMike: Naaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwww, really?
  197. (18:40:18) ThatGuyNamedMike: :P
  198. (18:40:35) MegaBossMan: Retro came up with this idea of King having two separate forms to rely on, but King as he is now, is paired with a second Doc Robot.
  199. (18:40:58) MegaBossMan: Now, a King that can shapeshift and use lasers along with a Doc Robot might be a bit too overkill for such a battle.
  200. (18:41:34) MegaBossMan: I believe Doc suggested that King could use his shield only in his first fight, and then have a second battle later on where he could freely switch between the two forms.
  201. (18:41:55) MegaBossMan: Now, if these forms even GET IN in the first place, where do you think a likely position could be for a second battle with King?
  202. (18:42:00) ThatOneEnderMan: Well, not really shapeshift, just change his weapons.
  203. (18:42:13) MegaBossMan: [I'm speaking hypothetical here, folks]
  204. (18:42:17) MegaBossMan: Yes, that's what I meant.
  205. (18:42:27) ThatOneEnderMan: Close enough :P
  206. (18:42:29) ThatGuyNamedMike: I personally believe that King should be an optional superboss, but, that's me.
  207. (18:42:43) MegaBossMan: An optional King superboss, eh?
  208. (18:42:56) MegaBossMan: Wasn't there a "King Mrk.2" in Mega Man and Bass?
  209. (18:43:11) TheDoc: Well that King was much different...
  210. (18:43:22) ThatGuyNamedMike: Never played 8.5, sooooo.... :P
  211. (18:43:28) MegaBossMan: Nono, not talking about Jet King Robo.
  212. (18:43:42) MegaBossMan: http://puu.sh/hIKAU/b194ccae5f.png
  213. (18:43:46) Meta: ... I don't Remember.
  214. (18:43:46) ThatOneEnderMan: I think a king battle should be like MM8BDM. Where its 2 phases. The 1st being the shield form and the 2nd being the axe form. And in between phase you re-fills his health.
  215. (18:43:49) ZeroDXZ: ...
  216. (18:43:50) MegaBossMan: That's from Bass's ending.
  217. (18:43:57) TheDoc: I was thinking of having King & Dark Man (if you MUST have two bosses for that fight) where King just has his shield, and then a second fight against standalone King where he can switch to this axe
  218. (18:44:45) MegaBossMan: What about the idea of a King Mrk.2 though? Maybe not even a separate robot, maybe just an alt in the likes of Disco, Roll, and Rhythm that the game has?
  219. (18:44:58) ZeroDXZ: ...
  220. (18:45:07) MegaBossMan: Of course, this "alt" would only be used by the game and would be more powered up than the previous King.
  221. (18:45:19) MegaBossMan: Sorry, just spurting out an idea here.
  222. (18:45:40) TheDoc: No no, spurting ideas is what we're here for :P
  223. (18:45:41) ThatOneEnderMan: Maybe it would be a 3 form fight?
  224. (18:45:49) TheDoc: 3 forms?
  225. (18:45:51) MegaBossMan: I know it sounds slightly crazy, but MM&B did present the possiblity of a King Version 2, and that could be a perfect reason for a powered-up King.
  226. (18:45:56) ZeroDXZ: ..............
  227. (18:46:08) Meta: Nice...
  228. (18:46:23) TheDoc: What would his 3rd form be then?
  229. (18:46:40) ThatOneEnderMan: The first form his shield form, the second is his axe, and the final form is that giant tank-robo-jet thing.
  230. (18:46:48) Meta: King 1= With Shield and Dark, Then You go to the 2nd Form after the game loads and you Heal your health and WE.
  231. (18:46:52) MegaBossMan: Ooooh, technical things won't let that happen.
  232. (18:46:55) TheDoc: That's pretty OP
  233. (18:47:05) ThatGuyNamedMike: Just have 2 separate battles?
  234. (18:47:12) ThatGuyNamedMike: ...duh?
  235. (18:47:25) MegaBossMan: So, what if you only fought King in his shield form for that first battle...
  236. (18:47:36) TheDoc: Then a second with shield and axe...
  237. (18:47:41) MegaBossMan: And he can freely switch between his two forms for a secret battle?
  238. (18:47:46) Meta: 2nd= Axe. He's Alone, And More powerful. If it works like this, you unlock Bonus field/Cache battles
  239. (18:47:52) MegaBossMan: Like a password boss or something?
  240. (18:47:56) Meta: Then;
  241. (18:48:04) Meta: 3rd= Secret Password.
  242. (18:48:10) TheDoc: All in all, making a separate battle for Jet King Robo is too much imo
  243. (18:48:19) Meta: Maybe getting all lvl 100 Bots, or something Get's You JKR?
  244. (18:48:23) MegaBossMan: Yeah, no Jet King Robo.
  245. (18:48:30) MegaBossMan: Much too huge in the first place anyway.
  246. (18:48:33) Meta: Or, One that has both forms?
  247. (18:48:35) ThatGuyNamedMike: Remember, guys:
  248. (18:48:37) ZeroDXZ throws his documents away
  249. (18:48:47) ThatGuyNamedMike: 160x160 or smaller.
  250. (18:49:02) ThatOneEnderMan: WAAAAAIT!
  251. (18:49:13) MegaBossMan: Heck, these guys shouldn't be bigger than Frost Man.
  252. (18:49:15) ThatGuyNamedMike: No large, hyper-bulky behemoths. :P
  253. (18:49:30) MegaBossMan: That's why Yellow Devil[sniff] didn't make it in.
  254. (18:49:33) Meta: Maybe:
  255. (18:49:37) ThatOneEnderMan: WHAT IF FOR SOME REASON WILY USED A SHRINK RAY ON JET-KING-ROBO?
  256. (18:49:41) Meta: once we can Have cutscenes
  257. (18:49:42) ThatOneEnderMan: Maybe?
  258. (18:49:47) Meta: Or bya a Dialogue
  259. (18:49:49) MegaBossMan: Then we're forcing it :P
  260. (18:49:51) Meta: * By a
  261. (18:49:53) MegaBossMan: Although....
  262. (18:50:04) ZeroDXZ: ....
  263. (18:50:04) Meta: Then it says: (With king on the screen)
  264. (18:50:08) MegaBossMan: You guys know how in Smash Bros, Olimar is pretty huge?
  265. (18:50:12) ZeroDXZ: don't we already have Dialogue?
  266. (18:50:17) ThatOneEnderMan: Yeah.
  267. (18:50:18) MegaBossMan: Yeah, no. Bosses wouldn't look right small.
  268. (18:50:23) ZeroDXZ: with the Robot Master unlocking?
  269. (18:50:34) MegaBossMan: I was suggesting a Devil under 160x160, but that's just silly.
  270. (18:50:51) Meta: You Have Beaten King and he's Waiting for another challenge...
  271. (18:50:54) ThatOneEnderMan: Inb4 Yellow Devil Minions from Mega man the power battle.
  272. (18:51:01) Meta: Then:
  273. (18:51:03) TheDoc: Any other ideas?
  274. (18:51:09) MegaBossMan: I'd love to see Yellow Devil minion, but that won't happen.
  275. (18:51:11) ZeroDXZ: [color=green][/color]
  276. (18:51:14) Meta: Hit continue and it says:
  277. (18:51:15) ThatOneEnderMan: It would be GENIUS!
  278. (18:51:17) ZeroDXZ: (sorry hang on)
  279. (18:51:19) MegaBossMan: Anyway, any final thoughts on King?
  280. (18:51:33) MegaBossMan: No?
  281. (18:51:36) Meta: Can i speak? anyways, It would say:
  282. (18:51:37) ThatOneEnderMan: Like a 4v4 against 4 of them.
  283. (18:51:39) MegaBossMan: http://rpg.megamanpoweredup.net/_preview/documents/mission-progression-by-chapter.txt
  284. (18:51:44) MegaBossMan: This document in general?
  285. (18:51:46) Tobyjoey: Will King function's be dictated at the start of the turn, or will it be based off of what move he does, like Aegislash?
  286. (18:51:58) Meta: "Get a Certain goal and you can Face King's Last form!"
  287. (18:52:05) MegaBossMan: I'd imagine he'd pull a Sniper Joe and randomly switch between the two every few turns.
  288. (18:52:16) Meta: Then it'll say when you get X Amount of something
  289. (18:52:16) MegaBossMan: [Since Sniper raises a shield one turn and drops it the next]
  290. (18:52:27) MegaBossMan: [Fitting with the Mega Buster lol]
  291. (18:52:36) TheDoc: How about he switches at the end of every turn? And it shouldn't take him a turn to switch.
  292. (18:53:43) MegaBossMan: Like a Sniper Joe? Alright then.
  293. (18:53:51) MegaBossMan: Maybe every two turns, actually?
  294. (18:53:58) TheDoc: Or even better have him switch right before his makes his move. That way he can catch you off-guard
  295. (18:54:16) MegaBossMan: Oooh, interesting.
  296. (18:54:31) TheDoc: Sorry, when I said "every turn" I didn't mean he switches once per turn.
  297. (18:54:34) Tobyjoey: So, like Aegislash? I can dig it.
  298. (18:54:45) TheDoc: I meant that when he does switch
  299. (18:54:47) ThatOneEnderMan: And maybe his weaknesses change, so that would make it even harder.
  300. (18:54:52) ThatOneEnderMan: I dunno.
  301. (18:55:08) MegaBossMan: Yeah, weakness change wouldn't be bad.
  302. (18:55:22) MegaBossMan: After all, a guy with a shield should have a different weakness than the same guy with an axe.
  303. (18:55:33) MegaBossMan: Not sure if that can be programmed, but interesting nonetheless, right?
  304. (18:55:47) ThatOneEnderMan: That would definitely catch the player off-guard.
  305. (18:55:59) ThatGuyNamedMike: It can be if you make the two forms into 2 different battles.
  306. (18:56:02) ThatGuyNamedMike: x)
  307. (18:56:20) ThatOneEnderMan: Or a King Clone?
  308. (18:56:29) TheDoc: That would be unnecessary
  309. (18:56:32) TheDoc: @Mike
  310. (18:56:39) MegaBossMan: I kinda like the switching idea myself.
  311. (18:56:45) ThatOneEnderMan: One king has the Shield the other would have the axe?
  312. (18:57:05) MegaBossMan: Definitely gives him a special edge he so rightly deserves.
  313. (18:57:10) MegaBossMan: After all, he is King.
  314. (18:57:25) TheDoc: *plays Imperial March*
  315. (18:57:29) ThatGuyNamedMike: Of course this should be unnecessary: He should be an optional boss, and not a mandatory one, duh. :P
  316. (18:57:32) ThatGuyNamedMike: @ Doc
  317. (18:57:33) ThatOneEnderMan: Special Edge? Like a axe?
  318. (18:57:35) MegaBossMan: Not that type of King :P
  319. (18:57:48) Tobyjoey: By the way, please tell me his victory line is "King Me!"
  320. (18:57:48) TheDoc facepalms @Mike
  321. (18:58:03) ThatOneEnderMan: *checks the database*
  322. (18:58:18) MegaBossMan: It's "Checkmate!"
  323. (18:58:30) ThatOneEnderMan: "Checkmate! The revolution will prevail!"
  324. (18:58:36) Tobyjoey: Close enough. :P
  325. (18:58:36) Meta: ,,,
  326. (18:58:56) TheDoc: Is that all for King, then?
  327. (18:59:01) ThatGuyNamedMike: All jokes aside, it looks less awkward and WTFish to 8.5 familiars just to have 2 separate battles instead of seeing King trying to act like Gemini Man or something.
  328. (18:59:03) Meta: Yes
  329. (18:59:06) ThatGuyNamedMike: @ Doc
  330. (18:59:24) Meta: ...brb
  331. (18:59:30) TheDoc: Like Gemini Man? I don't understand that
  332. (18:59:57) MegaBossMan: He's saying that it'd look weird to see King randomly change form.
  333. (19:00:27) MegaBossMan: Personally, I don't agree, but what can you do?
  334. (19:00:35) ThatGuyNamedMike: *see multiple Kings SWITCHING to make it LOOK like he's changing forms.
  335. (19:00:54) ThatOneEnderMan: Oh yeah, Gemini Man does that, though he only does that when he is at half health.
  336. (19:01:00) MegaBossMan: Multiple Kings?
  337. (19:01:12) TheDoc: Like MBM, Idk if it's programmable efficient/possible, but it's a good idea imo
  338. (19:01:16) MegaBoyX7: Did I miss anything?
  339. (19:01:18) MegaBossMan: Plus, there'd likely be a textbox saying "King took off his shield!"
  340. (19:01:20) TheDoc: To have him switch between forms that is
  341. (19:01:23) MegaBoyX7: because I'm late
  342. (19:01:26) ThatGuyNamedMike: Last I checked, King has 3 forms in 8.5, no?
  343. (19:01:26) MegaBossMan: Feel free to scroll up, Megaboy.
  344. (19:01:33) MegaBossMan: 2 forms that we can use, though.
  345. (19:01:34) TheDoc: Yea you miss most of the chat :(
  346. (19:01:47) MegaBoyX7: So can I share my new idea
  347. (19:01:57) TheDoc: Yes, but one of those is a giant robot
  348. (19:01:57) MegaBossMan: The axe, the shield, and the godzilla robot machine.
  349. (19:02:03) MegaBossMan: Not at the moment, sorry.
  350. (19:02:13) MegaBoyX7: Ok...
  351. (19:02:13) MegaBossMan: But stick around and we'll get to you.
  352. (19:02:19) ThatOneEnderMan: There is a time and a place for things, but not now.
  353. (19:02:20) MegaBoyX7: Ok
  354. (19:02:39) MegaBossMan: Anyway, I think we've put up every possible point for King.
  355. (19:02:58) TheDoc: Quite
  356. (19:03:06) MegaBossMan: Shall we move on?
  357. (19:03:13) Meta: (I don't feel too well... I'll brb for a bit)
  358. (19:03:14) TheDoc: Yep. MegaBoy you had an idea?
  359. (19:03:19) MegaBossMan: I had one last thing, but I want to save it and refine it, if that's alright.
  360. (19:03:20) MegaBoyX7: Ok
  361. (19:03:25) MegaBossMan: Megaboy, you can go next :)
  362. (19:03:54) MegaBoyX7: Got it;)
  363. (19:03:54) ThatOneEnderMan: OK! ~ Ness from earthbound.
  364. (19:04:15) MegaBoyX7: Speaking of EarthBound I'm a huge MOTHER fan
  365. (19:04:38) MegaBossMan: [Try to stay on topic before you get sidetracked, please!]
  366. (19:05:33) ThatOneEnderMan: I just wanted to make that joke since he said OK a lot. :P
  367. (19:05:50) ThatGuyNamedMike: So, Prototype has some sucky Mechas, doesn't it? :P
  368. (19:05:55) TheDoc: @Ender Yea you're fine ;) just a reminder
  369. (19:05:58) MegaBoyX7: O:-D
  370. (19:06:07) TheDoc: MBM has an idea first
  371. (19:06:13) MegaBossMan: Nono, DOc.
  372. (19:06:25) MegaBossMan: Let Megaboy go first, I'd like to share it another day
  373. (19:06:35) TheDoc: Oh okay then. MegaBoy you're up!
  374. (19:06:47) MegaBossMan: Go ahead, MegaBoy, you're center-stage.
  375. (19:06:53) MegaBoyX7: Ok
  376. (19:07:03) MegaBoyX7: So i got 3 idea's for gameplay
  377. (19:07:31) MegaBoyX7: 1. I thought of a rhythm system aka Super attacks
  378. (19:08:22) MegaBoyX7: These super attacks will be pulled off by having the attack start at a beat doubling the damage and can only be used when sound was on
  379. (19:09:11) MegaBoyX7: Such as when you do a charge shot and you do it at the same time as a beat you get twice as much damage delt to the enemy
  380. (19:09:37) MegaBoyX7: Any questions before we go on to my 2nd idea
  381. (19:09:50) MegaBossMan: MegaBoy, I don't think that can be a possibility. Sorry :(
  382. (19:09:57) TheDoc: I feel like it's kinda unnecessary...
  383. (19:10:08) MegaBoyX7: Ok...
  384. (19:10:13) ThatGuyNamedMike: EXTREMELY overcomplicated.
  385. (19:10:14) MegaBossMan: Having the game directly tied to the music is a bit cheapy, and maybe a bit too broken.
  386. (19:10:21) MegaBoyX7: But still it would work on a different engine
  387. (19:10:24) MegaBossMan: Continue on to your next idea though.
  388. (19:10:32) MegaBossMan: Remember, this is a browser-game.
  389. (19:10:33) MegaBoyX7: So my other idea
  390. (19:10:42) MegaBoyX7: World maps that work
  391. (19:11:05) MegaBoyX7: So make it look like EarthBound and have it play like putt putt
  392. (19:11:08) MegaBossMan: Fusion Fields already kick that out.
  393. (19:11:28) ThatGuyNamedMike: ^
  394. (19:11:36) MegaBossMan: Plus, those games are a bit more intense than what we can have.
  395. (19:11:48) ThatGuyNamedMike: Can't put 3,000 points of interest on a map.
  396. (19:11:56) MegaBoyX7: You click on an enemy to battle it
  397. (19:11:59) MegaBossMan: I guess something like RPG maker would fix that, but I don't think anyone would like to use that....
  398. (19:12:01) MegaBoyX7: And that's all
  399. (19:12:08) MegaBossMan: Your third idea?
  400. (19:12:10) MegaBoyX7: Just click on a met and battle it
  401. (19:12:25) MegaBoyX7: No moving at all ok now third idea...
  402. (19:12:35) MegaBossMan: Yeah, sorry.
  403. (19:13:09) MegaBoyX7: That is not gameplay related
  404. (19:13:23) MegaBoyX7: Scanning
  405. (19:13:37) MegaBoyX7: Click on an enemy on the field to see it's stats
  406. (19:13:39) MegaBossMan: Like...What we have now?
  407. (19:13:50) MegaBoyX7: That's... all I got
  408. (19:13:53) TheDoc: Yea this is already a thing
  409. (19:14:05) ThatGuyNamedMike: It's called "scan". :P
  410. (19:14:17) MegaBoyX7: Except it's easier
  411. (19:14:35) MegaBossMan: Well, it has a few flaws as well.
  412. (19:14:52) MegaBossMan: Accidentally clicking a robot brings up a bunch of text, so that wouldn't be good.
  413. (19:15:08) TheDoc: I don't understand how this would be any easier or different then what's already implemented. It'd alse be a lot of unnecessary work for Adrian
  414. (19:15:28) MegaBoyX7: Darn it
  415. (19:15:38) MegaBossMan: Anyway, would we like to move on?
  416. (19:15:42) MegaBoyX7: Well I guess I can share my extra ide
  417. (19:15:42) MegaBossMan: Who's next?
  418. (19:15:48) MegaBossMan: Go ahead.
  419. (19:15:48) MegaBoyX7: Idea*
  420. (19:15:58) MegaBoyX7: Devil mode[b][/b]
  421. (19:16:24) MegaBoyX7: A mode so dangerous you unlock it by beating all the doctors modes
  422. (19:16:36) MegaBoyX7: Your limited to 4 robots
  423. (19:16:50) MegaBoyX7: and you can only use 3 of each item
  424. (19:16:59) MegaBoyX7: The bosses are super hard
  425. (19:17:10) MegaBossMan: Like a challenge mode of sorts?
  426. (19:17:20) MegaBoyX7: The stage multipliers are doubled
  427. (19:17:29) MegaBoyX7: And you can get any weapons
  428. (19:17:48) MegaBoyX7: You can only use buster and charge shot and unlock robot masters
  429. (19:18:05) MegaBoyX7: It will also have a new final boss
  430. (19:18:24) MegaBoyX7: The devils machine
  431. (19:18:44) MegaBossMan: The Devils can't show up, too big.
  432. (19:18:58) MegaBoyX7: It's just a black mist with eyes
  433. (19:19:09) MegaBossMan: Like a mist Devil of sorts?
  434. (19:19:22) MegaBoyX7: Yeah that
  435. (19:19:26) TheDoc: Well, we already have difficulty modes in place...
  436. (19:19:31) MegaBossMan: Well, it sure would cancel out the need for a new Devil while fitting within a 160x160 box.
  437. (19:19:45) MegaBoyX7: It is 3 times stronger than the final boss of all the doctors modes
  438. (19:19:51) MegaBoyX7: And....
  439. (19:19:53) MegaBossMan: I'm not too sure about the mode, but I do like the idea of a new-type of Devil that could fit in a 160x160 boss.
  440. (19:19:59) MegaBossMan: *box
  441. (19:20:12) MegaBossMan: [Granted, contact damage would be weird....]
  442. (19:20:18) MegaBoyX7: The way the mode will work is your decision
  443. (19:20:44) MegaBossMan: I think most of this could be resolved with a Boss rush, hard mode, and choosing to nuzlocke the Boss Rush.
  444. (19:20:45) MegaBoyX7: If you beat the devils machine
  445. (19:20:57) Meta: Nice
  446. (19:20:59) MegaBoyX7: You unlock Player battles DX
  447. (19:21:05) MegaBossMan: .......
  448. (19:21:14) MegaBossMan: I...Don't understand the difference.
  449. (19:21:17) MegaBoyX7: It's just stronger players
  450. (19:21:23) MegaBossMan: But....How?
  451. (19:21:40) ThatOneEnderMan puts in the Chapter Get: Player Battles
  452. (19:21:45) MegaBoyX7: Think of it as the Kirby boss battles and how they have DX versions
  453. (19:21:52) MegaBossMan: The whole motif of Player Battles is fighting aganist a player's robot, so how would you power up a player?
  454. (19:22:00) TheDoc: That mode doesn't make sense because you'd basically be OPing human players
  455. (19:22:00) ThatOneEnderMan: *EX Versions. Not DX Versions.
  456. (19:22:29) MegaBoyX7: So the thing this time
  457. (19:22:46) MegaBossMan: The whole Player Battle thing is "Steel against steel, even odds", so Player Battle DX kinda messes with that
  458. (19:22:54) MegaBoyX7: You will Fight a battle with only your greatest robots
  459. (19:23:52) ThatOneEnderMan: This entire thing is a mess.
  460. (19:23:52) MegaBoyX7: Ok..... i'll rephrase it
  461. (19:24:04) ThatGuyNamedMike: xD
  462. (19:24:08) ThatGuyNamedMike: @ Ender
  463. (19:24:11) MegaBoyX7: So you have 666 mode with harder bosses and stufd
  464. (19:24:15) MegaBoyX7: Stuff*
  465. (19:24:36) MegaBossMan: Yeah, no. I don't see this going anywhere.
  466. (19:24:52) MegaBoyX7: .... yeah I'm pretty stupid
  467. (19:24:56) MegaBossMan: Thank you for your suggestions, but given the spirit of this game, I don't personally think it fits.
  468. (19:25:02) MegaBossMan: Nono, nothing like that.
  469. (19:25:23) MegaBossMan: You just have to know about the limits of the game and whatnot. What we can do that works and what can't work.
  470. (19:25:29) MegaBoyX7: I had better idea's when I was just making stuff up in my head
  471. (19:25:46) MegaBoyX7: That's what I use to do
  472. (19:25:48) MegaBossMan: Anyway, thank you for your suggestions.
  473. (19:26:08) MegaBoyX7: Your welcome Lord megabossman
  474. (19:26:09) MegaBossMan: (whispers to ThatOneEnderMan) Ender, contain yourself.
  475. (19:26:14) ThatGuyNamedMike: xD
  476. (19:26:25) ThatOneEnderMan: (whispers) Sorry.
  477. (19:26:28) TheDoc: Anything else or is this meeting adjourned?
  478. (19:26:30) MegaBoyX7: XD
  479. (19:26:35) MegaBossMan: Zero had some ideas, right?
  480. (19:26:41) MegaBoyX7: Zero
  481. (19:26:59) MegaBossMan: (whispers to ThatOneEnderMan) Just play nice, alright?
  482. (19:26:59) MegaBoyX7: Use get up from ur coma
  483. (19:27:00) Meta: ...
  484. (19:27:04) MegaBoyX7: In MMZ1
  485. (19:27:04) ThatGuyNamedMike: Also, That Goofball Named Mikey had some ideas.
  486. (19:27:13) Meta: @MBM i can do the PB
  487. (19:27:19) ThatOneEnderMan: "Lord megabossman" I can't just help but to laugh that XD
  488. (19:27:23) TheDoc: @Meta we're not doing PBs anymore
  489. (19:27:27) Meta: brb
  490. (19:27:39) MegaBossMan: Hey, I am a lord after all.
  491. (19:27:44) MegaBossMan: Already, let's get back on track.
  492. (19:27:53) MegaBossMan: Mike, you had some ideas?
  493. (19:28:02) MegaBossMan: If so, feel free to take the podium.
  494. (19:28:11) ThatOneEnderMan: No no. Pastebinds.
  495. (19:28:34) ThatGuyNamedMike: *steps up*
  496. (19:28:36) ThatOneEnderMan: Totally different things.
  497. (19:28:45) Meta: @Doc we're Not doing ONLY SNC MOMENTS...
  498. (19:29:00) Meta: "SNC Moments"
  499. (19:29:17) Meta: Also, A moment is 90 Seconds, not a Minute. Look it up.
  500. (19:29:29) ThatGuyNamedMike: *A* god, X7. :P
  501. (19:29:58) ThatGuyNamedMike: There's 5 other gods at the moment that would take offense to me being considered the only one. :P
  502. (19:30:05) MegaBoyX7: Mikey is still god
  503. (19:30:11) MegaBossMan: (whispers to TheDoc) Just ignore that. You're doing good.
  504. (19:30:18) TheDoc: Let's not get sidetracked. What's your idea?
  505. (19:30:26) Meta: @Mike WHO Are those?
  506. (19:30:28) MegaBoyX7: A god if I wasn't so derpy
  507. (19:30:37) Meta: ...Top 6?
  508. (19:30:53) ThatGuyNamedMike: Oh, oh, right. I know you all hate it when I talk about things that shouldn't be there and should be deleted, but, I can't help it.
  509. (19:30:53) Meta: ...Now i have no reply.
  510. (19:30:53) MegaBossMan: Guys, let Mike go.
  511. (19:31:50) Meta: (Yeah, He Means me, Lets continue. me, MBM, Doc, Toby, Someone else) (GO WITH YOUR IDEAS AND SPREAD YOUR WINGS!)
  512. (19:32:17) ThatGuyNamedMike: ...the genesis unit.....should probably go. We have way better potential bosses than those 3.
  513. (19:32:47) MegaBoyX7: *Claps*
  514. (19:32:56) MegaBossMan: WAAAAAT
  515. (19:33:14) TheDoc: I disagree. I think they're fine as bosses and we do want to include a good variety of bosses.
  516. (19:33:21) Meta: WHA U Jus SEH?
  517. (19:33:29) MegaBossMan: I personally like the trio a lot.
  518. (19:33:29) ThatGuyNamedMike: Between King, Sunstar, the Killers, Doc Robot, the Shadow alts, the Droids, AND the Galaxy Council,
  519. (19:33:57) ThatGuyNamedMike: I don't see why the Genesis unit is needed. They're....too obscure, really.
  520. (19:33:59) MegaBossMan: They're supposed to be goofy. It's called variety, after all.
  521. (19:34:24) MegaBossMan: I really like the Genesis Unit as a bunch, and I think they provide an interesting dynamic.
  522. (19:34:52) Meta: ...Sorry to be off topic, But the community got a new change.
  523. (19:35:00) MegaBoyX7: Personally I see them as Europe/japan exclusive characters but they did appear on the Sega channel so I have to agree with mikey
  524. (19:35:17) Meta: (it shows 2 on community, me and someone else saying 2 Members Viewing)
  525. (19:35:26) ThatGuyNamedMike: I don't mind goofy, but, we can do better than 3 guys who each have a letter in their name [which, by the by, the average MM fan has no clue what they mean without consulting a source].
  526. (19:35:47) MegaBossMan: I don't either, but I love them all the same.
  527. (19:35:58) MegaBossMan: Plus, WE can make these guys non-obscure!
  528. (19:36:20) MegaBossMan: We can put them back into place and maybe give them a little bit more prominence in the world of Mega Man.
  529. (19:36:52) TheDoc: What's your next idea Mike? I wanna record as much as we can
  530. (19:36:57) ThatGuyNamedMike: ......we COULD, sure, but, why not replace them with 3 potentially BETTER bosses of our own making? :P
  531. (19:37:13) MegaBossMan: Yeah, let's go on. After all, we only have 30 more minutes.
  532. (19:37:21) ThatGuyNamedMike: *22
  533. (19:37:47) ThatGuyNamedMike: I can't see why Trill needs 3 forms.
  534. (19:37:52) MegaBossMan: If we need to continue, we'll have to go in the General and record from there as well, but let's not get to that.
  535. (19:38:05) ThatGuyNamedMike: and I also can't see why Planet Man needs 4.
  536. (19:38:07) TheDoc: @MegaBoy if you get off-track one more time I'm kicking you no questions asked
  537. (19:38:17) TheDoc: @Meta Stop
  538. (19:38:30) ThatGuyNamedMike: I've 100%ed MMBN2--PlanetMan.exe did not have 4 forms. :P
  539. (19:38:59) MegaBossMan: I think it adds a fun level to what could be an already entertaining fight.
  540. (19:39:04) TheDoc: I, uh, have not played MMBN2 so I can't comment on this...
  541. (19:39:36) MegaBoyX7: I played battle newtowrk 1 so I kinda know what he is talking about
  542. (19:39:53) ThatGuyNamedMike: Basically, I'm addressing the whole 'end bosses need multiple forms' bit. I'm sorry, but, Doc Robot already did this, and I didn't like it then.
  543. (19:40:21) TheDoc: I see. Instead of having different forms, different bosses would be better?
  544. (19:40:29) ThatGuyNamedMike: Precisely.
  545. (19:40:33) MegaBossMan: Cosmo Man doesn't have multiple forms, though
  546. (19:40:36) MegaBoyX7: Seems good
  547. (19:40:46) ThatOneEnderMan: Can I post a video of the PlanetMan Boss fight so everyone would understand how he works?
  548. (19:40:50) MegaBoyX7: I like this idea
  549. (19:40:53) MegaBossMan: I don't like this as much as everyone else does, sorry.
  550. (19:40:57) MegaBossMan: Maybe not now, Ender.
  551. (19:41:02) Meta: ....
  552. (19:41:02) MegaBoyX7: @ender Maybe
  553. (19:41:06) ThatOneEnderMan: Alright.
  554. (19:41:13) MegaBossMan: If we ever get into a discussion of how he'd play, then we could use that as a source.
  555. (19:41:15) ThatGuyNamedMike: I can just explain it, later, Ender. Thanks, though. :)
  556. (19:41:33) ThatGuyNamedMike: 2 More:
  557. (19:42:12) ThatGuyNamedMike: Ummm, The final Story+ chapter in the mission progression doc. http://rpg.megamanpoweredup.net/_preview/documents/mission-progression-by-chapter.txt
  558. (19:42:13) MegaBoyX7: Well....
  559. (19:42:37) ThatGuyNamedMike: Why does anything need to be Level 1,000?
  560. (19:42:44) Meta: ...Mike.
  561. (19:42:46) ThatGuyNamedMike: or heck, Lv. 200, for that matter?
  562. (19:42:55) Meta: Because they want the boss fights to be hard!
  563. (19:43:04) MegaBossMan: Because it adds a sense of dread for the player.
  564. (19:43:08) MegaBoyX7: I kinda agree with mike
  565. (19:43:14) Meta: *And the fights a CHALLENGE!
  566. (19:43:17) ThatGuyNamedMike: You can do that without making something Lv. 1,000.
  567. (19:43:20) MegaBossMan: While it also improves the stats even more, it also strikes fear into the player's heart.
  568. (19:43:38) ThatGuyNamedMike: It's easy, that make its' stats = an absurdly high amount.
  569. (19:43:47) Tobyjoey: It's like "Woah, this guy is so strong, he is breaking RPG rules!"
  570. (19:43:49) ThatGuyNamedMike: *just make it's stats
  571. (19:43:52) MegaBossMan: It's going right in there, flaunting to the player that this guy is a whole different league than anything you've ever faced or gotten.
  572. (19:44:31) MegaBossMan: Seeing those digits so high and seeing this level of strength you can't achieve is exactly what I believe this fight is supposed to represent.
  573. (19:44:36) Meta: ...DOC, Your opinion? (I will say, It's like anyone who's Been top for a while is Treated great and Becomes a mod, Let's Continue with the Idea.)
  574. (19:45:15) MegaBossMan: This Final Boss is everything the player can't become by normal means.
  575. (19:45:35) TheDoc: Sorry I was talking to someone asnd minutesing at the same time. Gimme a sec to collect my thoughts :P
  576. (19:45:45) MegaBoyX7: "Striking fear into the players heart" Wow that... makes me feel dark...
  577. (19:45:55) MegaBossMan: That's the ultimate piece of dread for me for a boss, seeing this power you can't have by normal means, and feeling this sense of hopelessness
  578. (19:46:14) ThatGuyNamedMike: But, then, his stats end up being pathetic to do that. I mean, say that Cache's HP is...oh, 2,000.
  579. (19:46:24) ThatGuyNamedMike: Base.
  580. (19:46:27) MegaBossMan: A level is most likely the first thing a player sees, and seeing these digits that surpass what you think a robot in this game should have, it's astounding.
  581. (19:47:09) MegaBossMan: It's really setting up the mood for the fight, to be honest. Seeing this level just makes you think "....What is this thing?"
  582. (19:47:14) TheDoc: I don't see a problem with having the boss be a level that the player cannot achieve to be a "problem" as long as the stats are challenging enough
  583. (19:48:08) TheDoc: I haven't gotten to look at the stats yet, though. I don't know where those are. Back to minutesing...
  584. (19:48:09) MegaBossMan: But of course, when the time comes, Cache's stats will be adjusted accordingly to represent the amount of challenge his boss fight should contain.
  585. (19:48:11) ThatGuyNamedMike: His HP at Level 1,000 ends up being 101,900. You could accomplish this same feat at Level 100 by giving his a Base HP stat of 20,000.
  586. (19:48:26) ThatGuyNamedMike: *giving him
  587. (19:48:36) MegaBossMan: Nobody knows what Cache's stats are at the moment though. I don't even know it.
  588. (19:48:54) MegaBoyX7: Well you would have a flaw
  589. (19:49:06) ThatGuyNamedMike: But, we know what his Level is, for the time being. :P
  590. (19:49:15) MegaBoyX7: Getting long hit to red would give you a chance to use Health swap
  591. (19:49:22) Meta: I see.
  592. (19:49:24) MegaBoyX7: So that kinda removes the fear
  593. (19:49:26) ThatGuyNamedMike: Again, he's not a playable like the Cache bots. He's a BOSS.
  594. (19:49:34) MegaBossMan: Yes, and already, we know it's something that surpasses our limits.
  595. (19:49:34) ThatGuyNamedMike: *BAWSS
  596. (19:49:44) Meta: ...I think i'll read the PB. I think i'm done with BP grinding too.
  597. (19:49:48) MegaBossMan: MegaBoy, I'd imagine those moves wouldn't work on our final guy.
  598. (19:49:55) MegaBossMan: Haha
  599. (19:50:05) MegaBoyX7: Maybe your right
  600. (19:50:38) ThatGuyNamedMike: Just saying that nothing would need to be LEvel 1,000 if it had better stats. :P
  601. (19:50:47) ThatGuyNamedMike: Last one:
  602. (19:50:49) MegaBoyX7: After all a God robot would be able to 1 hit Kong people
  603. (19:50:50) MegaBossMan: But we don't KNOW his stats.
  604. (19:50:58) MegaBoyX7: Ko*
  605. (19:50:59) MegaBossMan: Go ahead.
  606. (19:51:18) ThatGuyNamedMike: But, we know what his Level is, so, it's easy to do that mathwork. :P
  607. (19:51:25) ThatGuyNamedMike: Anyway,
  608. (19:51:39) MegaBossMan: [Not all the variables are there though!]
  609. (19:51:54) ThatGuyNamedMike: At this point, it needs to be said:
  610. (19:52:08) ThatGuyNamedMike: Can we please get rid of Quint?
  611. (19:52:14) ThatGuyNamedMike: PLEASE.
  612. (19:52:15) MegaBossMan: Awww...
  613. (19:52:26) MegaBossMan: But why purposefully exclude Quint?
  614. (19:52:40) ThatOneEnderMan: But why Mike?
  615. (19:52:47) ThatOneEnderMan: Quint is awesome!
  616. (19:52:49) MegaBoyX7: ºOº but quaint is my 2nd fav robot master
  617. (19:52:57) MegaBossMan: That doesn't justify cutting him out though.
  618. (19:52:57) MegaBoyX7: Quint*
  619. (19:53:00) TheDoc: @Mike language. Not even abbreviations
  620. (19:53:10) MegaBossMan: ^
  621. (19:53:15) MegaBoyX7: ^
  622. (19:53:17) ThatOneEnderMan: Though Terra is better imo.
  623. (19:53:33) MegaBossMan: But if you feel the Quint from Mega Man II is a failure in every right, just pretend he's Rockman Shadow.
  624. (19:53:46) MegaBossMan: That one was apparently pretty rocking.
  625. (19:53:48) ThatGuyNamedMike: He's just a massive parabola of idiotically unplanned what-the-****ness.
  626. (19:54:15) ThatGuyNamedMike: We already have a Mega Man Shadow. :P
  627. (19:54:23) ThatGuyNamedMike: x)
  628. (19:54:32) MegaBossMan: Oh, forgot they shared the same names!
  629. (19:54:36) MegaBoyX7: Rock man Shadow.... Seems like a good name we could call him or we could color swap him if we ever make him
  630. (19:54:45) Tobyjoey: Alright. Do you know what is ridiculous for anyone to complain about Quint?
  631. (19:54:48) ThatGuyNamedMike: We already have him, X7. :P
  632. (19:55:01) MegaBoyX7: Auto correct
  633. (19:55:02) ThatGuyNamedMike: Mega Man S. Final Destination 2.
  634. (19:55:18) ThatGuyNamedMike: Also, he's not a Killer.
  635. (19:55:20) MegaBossMan: I mean, his boss fight in MMII sucked, but this is our chance to make him a cool boss.
  636. (19:55:22) MegaBoyX7: X7 must be leased in green
  637. (19:55:24) ThatGuyNamedMike: Quint.
  638. (19:55:27) ThatOneEnderMan: Terra is the Best MMK.
  639. (19:55:32) ThatOneEnderMan: Nuff' said.
  640. (19:55:34) MegaBossMan: He may not be a Killer, but he doesn't deserved to be anything else.
  641. (19:55:39) MegaBossMan: *deserve
  642. (19:55:42) ThatGuyNamedMike: Terra'sn ot a Killer, either.
  643. (19:55:50) MegaBoyX7: ^
  644. (19:55:52) ThatGuyNamedMike: He's a Droid.
  645. (19:56:00) MegaBoyX7: Of star
  646. (19:56:07) ThatOneEnderMan: He serves the same purpose.
  647. (19:56:18) ThatGuyNamedMike: Nah.
  648. (19:56:21) ThatOneEnderMan: So does Quint.
  649. (19:56:23) MegaBoyX7: XD
  650. (19:56:23) Tobyjoey: I don't always get the argument on who killers are, as there are a ton of robots made to kill MM :P
  651. (19:56:41) ThatGuyNamedMike: Enker, Punk and Ballade had attacks that could Kill and had backgrounds that made sense.
  652. (19:56:56) ThatGuyNamedMike: Quint is just...............ugh.
  653. (19:57:00) TheDoc: Mike I feel like this is simply a personal issue between you and Quint
  654. (19:57:04) MegaBossMan: Yes, but Quint's from the same line of games, and unlike Terra, we can't classify him as anything els.e
  655. (19:57:17) MegaBossMan: Yeah, no letting personal feelings get in the way of work :)
  656. (19:57:22) TheDoc: I do therapy for this kind of thing
  657. (19:57:28) Tobyjoey: So, Metal Man is just supposed to go ought and drink with the blue bomber, not kill him? Even Bass, who was made to kill MM, is not a MM Killer? The Killer argument really doesn't make sense.
  658. (19:57:31) ThatOneEnderMan: Have about we call quint a megaman loser.
  659. (19:57:43) MegaBoyX7: of star
  660. (19:57:56) ThatOneEnderMan: of star
  661. (19:57:58) ThatGuyNamedMike: It is partly, but, I just wanna thin the heard for Adrian's sake, too. I mean, we have so pretty rad bosses without Quint effing it up, and Adrian has enough work ahead of him putting THEMin as it is without trying to justify putting in that....thing.
  662. (19:58:04) ThatGuyNamedMike: *thin the herd
  663. (19:58:12) TheDoc: @ToB Yea if you were to go through each robot and check him for the requirements of a MMK, there'd be a lot
  664. (19:58:13) ThatGuyNamedMike: *we have some pretty rad
  665. (19:58:24) ThatOneEnderMan: that....thing.
  666. (19:58:27) MegaBossMan: But then we have to replace him with someone else.
  667. (19:58:50) MegaBossMan: Plus, he's only present for one fight, and he has some pretty rocking sprites.
  668. (19:59:02) ThatGuyNamedMike: We HAVE to? I don't recally Adrian replacing the retconned Galaxy Council members, yet.
  669. (19:59:12) ThatGuyNamedMike: *recall
  670. (19:59:30) MegaBossMan: But they never had a spot in this in the first place. Quint was in from the start, GC wasn't.
  671. (19:59:33) ThatGuyNamedMike: Also, see ya.
  672. (19:59:53) TheDoc: Well, if Adrian's putting him in, then Adrian must be fine with him being in, so I don't see a problem there
  673. (20:00:10) TheDoc: And that's that
  674. (20:00:13) MegaBossMan: He does need a different Defend though...
  675. (20:00:31) MegaBossMan: After all, he'll just be randomly getting off his pogo to block in his idle animations.
  676. (20:00:58) TheDoc: Yea
  677. (20:06:29) MegaBossMan: Do you guys want me to finish up real quick, or?
  678. (20:06:47) ThatOneEnderMan: Sure Megaboy.
  679. (20:06:52) ThatGuyNamedMike: YES!
  680. (20:06:52) ThatOneEnderMan: SSB4!
  681. (20:06:56) MegaBoyX7: Ok I make room
  682. (20:06:57) ThatGuyNamedMike: @ Boss.
  683. (20:07:16) MegaBossMan: Alright, what about the idea of a surprise encounter?
  684. (20:07:28) MegaBossMan: Hear me out here before you judge
  685. (20:07:47) ThatOneEnderMan: JUUUUDGEING!
  686. (20:07:49) ThatOneEnderMan: NOOOW
  687. (20:07:52) MegaBossMan: So, you click on a mission, and you're fighting against Slur.
  688. (20:08:16) MegaBossMan: Now, being the type of player that you are, you finish up your battle and it's all over.
  689. (20:08:30) ThatGuyNamedMike: mm-hmm.
  690. (20:08:38) MegaBossMan: Normally, you'd hear the beautiful, grating sounds of victory and the green box, but...
  691. (20:08:40) ThatOneEnderMan: Neat....
  692. (20:08:42) MegaBossMan: This time, it didn't happen.
  693. (20:08:51) ThatOneEnderMan: THE EVIL ROBOT COMES
  694. (20:08:57) ThatOneEnderMan: AND KILL YOOOUUU
  695. (20:08:58) MegaBossMan: Now, whether it's manually or by beating some requirement, a textbox appears
  696. (20:09:07) ThatGuyNamedMike: Oh?
  697. (20:09:09) MegaBoyX7: How would you like to play SSB4 wii u
  698. (20:09:20) ThatOneEnderMan: By playing the game.
  699. (20:09:31) ThatOneEnderMan: I know that sounds crazy.
  700. (20:09:32) MegaBossMan: "The sensors have picked up a powerful signal....And it's coming straight to this position!"
  701. (20:09:44) MegaBossMan: Next thing you know, [insert] enters the battle!
  702. (20:09:58) ThatGuyNamedMike: Freeze Man!
  703. (20:10:00) MegaBossMan: Personally, I like the idea because it's purposefully twisting the table on the player.
  704. (20:10:01) ThatGuyNamedMike: x)
  705. (20:10:23) MegaBossMan: You didn't know you'd be facing an extra robot in the mission select screen, and this is something you didn't account for.
  706. (20:10:39) MegaBossMan: You'd have to quickly regain yourself and try to endure this extra robot.
  707. (20:10:42) MegaBossMan: I mean, imagine this:
  708. (20:10:56) MegaBossMan: You're facing some random, important robot and you beat 'em
  709. (20:11:09) MegaBossMan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AYe1-V7IrQ&list=PL2yhjPks7HSqjUtmthSyH9EEEaynC2m39&index=62
  710. (20:11:13) MegaBossMan: All of a sudden, that plays.
  711. (20:11:22) MegaBoyX7: Why did you leave ender?
  712. (20:11:33) ThatGuyNamedMike: You could try this with MM7, 8, 8.5, 9 and 10 RM, but, I'll bet you a penny that Adrian gonna say something along the lines of "how am I gonna program THAT?" :P
  713. (20:11:35) MegaBossMan: You're facing Duo all of a sudden, and it's definitely going to be interesting.
  714. (20:12:01) MegaBossMan: Yes, yes. Hopefully he finds a way, but if he doesn't, it's something that I'm willing to lose.
  715. (20:12:14) MegaBossMan: Certainly would be awesome though, right?
  716. (20:12:24) MegaBossMan: Any thoughts before you can leave?
  717. (20:12:40) ThatGuyNamedMike: Brilliant way to unlock post MM6 RM's, though. :P
  718. (20:12:52) ThatGuyNamedMike: Their fields, that is.
  719. (20:13:08) MegaBossMan: Could be, could be.
  720. (20:13:29) MegaBossMan: Alright, you guys can go if you wish.
