I recently had a dream where Derpy Hooves appeared as a character. Now, before this, Derpy wasn't of much importance to me. I think I only dreamt of her because before sleeping I had played a couple fangames where she appeared. But that dream... I think she was the only pony in an otherwise mostly human cast. Derpy wasn't central to the dream. Furthermore, my allies and I weren't all together at all times in the dream, so there was at least one period where I was separated from her. However... In the dream, she was coming to be something of a little sister figure for me. And I think the feeling was mutual. My dream didn't follow the fanon of her having a kid and such - She was a young adult in the dream, maybe 18 or 19 years of age, but due to her being, well, Derpy, her level of simplicity and innocence were much higher. I think that worked well because she was a pony rather than a human - It felt natural, not like I was dealing with a disabled person. She created such a warm, fuzzy feeling, which I tried to cling to after I woke up... but which sadly evaporated in the hours after waking. There's one scene involving her that I still remember...
