  53.
  54. Rockman has to escape the hydrothermal complex after destroying the generator, because the complex made sure that no one can teleport out of the fortress, making it to a deathtrap for the intruder.
  55. (2015.05.27 - 19:47:22) The_Walrus: i think he's the one who had the average screens-per-stage thing
  56. (2015.05.27 - 19:47:39) Favic: Colonel_ServBot has been logged out (Timeout).
  57. (2015.05.27 - 19:47:40) Gaia: no burn rooster, plz

  62. (2015.05.27 - 19:48:33) Thanatos-Zero: However, Dr. Wily likes to spare his machines, so he makes sure that the machines which are not built for combat escape.
  63. (2015.05.27 - 19:48:36) Gaia: I think Lamda knows as well..

  65. (2015.05.27 - 19:49:16) Lamda: ...wily likes sparing his machines?
  66. (2015.05.27 - 19:49:19) Karakato: wait, is this a different game or is it MMR's revised stage?
  67. (2015.05.27 - 19:49:28) Rhythm: porntipsguzzardo

  71. (2015.05.27 - 19:49:48) Karakato: ahh gotcha
  72. (2015.05.27 - 19:50:00) Lamda: i dunno how long the original stage was
  73. (2015.05.27 - 19:50:16) Blackmore_Darkwing peeks in from a hole in the ceiling
  74. (2015.05.27 - 19:50:21) Gaia: *ahem* how many screens per average in a mega man stage?
  75. (2015.05.27 - 19:50:35) Blackmore_Darkwing: Ummm...I think it, was, like, 25?
  76. (2015.05.27 - 19:50:45) Thanatos-Zero: It is about 32 I believe
  77. (2015.05.27 - 19:50:45) Lamda: oh that?
  78. (2015.05.27 - 19:50:50) Favic: DarkSamus993 logs into the Chat.
  79. (2015.05.27 - 19:50:52) Lamda: the averge is about 23 or so
  80. (2015.05.27 - 19:50:54) Colonel_ServBot: Ceiling BD :u
  81. (2015.05.27 - 19:50:56) The_Walrus: >half of pyre's is 20
  82. (2015.05.27 - 19:50:58) The_Walrus: TZ
  83. (2015.05.27 - 19:51:01) The_Walrus: TONE IT DOWN
  84. (2015.05.27 - 19:51:07) The_Walrus: DON'T GO UNLIMITED
  85. (2015.05.27 - 19:51:09) The_Walrus: ; )
  86. (2015.05.27 - 19:51:17) Blackmore_Darkwing: 32 is the LONGEST I've seen in 8-bit classic.
  87. (2015.05.27 - 19:51:29) Karakato: who's stage is that bd?
  88. (2015.05.27 - 19:51:32) Gaia: So.. from starting point to the boss room, about 23 screens per stage. cool.
  89. (2015.05.27 - 19:51:32) Blackmore_Darkwing: At least among robot masters
  90. (2015.05.27 - 19:51:43) Blackmore_Darkwing: Nitro Man's stage is 32 screens long.
  91. (2015.05.27 - 19:51:46) Gaia: 23-25 that is
  92. (2015.05.27 - 19:51:56) MegaBusterBloo: http://i.imgur.com/muHZgzS.gif
  93. (2015.05.27 - 19:52:07) Karakato: well, the speeding trucks section made it seem shorter
  94. (2015.05.27 - 19:52:14) Blackmore_Darkwing: Exactly
  95. (2015.05.27 - 19:52:49) Gaia: mostly because it's long road, and they knew that
  96. (2015.05.27 - 19:53:07) Karakato: I'm sure stone man's is one of the longer ones...got pretty bored going through that tbh
  97. (2015.05.27 - 19:53:13) Gaia: same goes for turbo man and his little truck section of the stage
  98. (2015.05.27 - 19:53:18) Thanatos-Zero: Matt, if it happens we make stages too long, we insert one additional checkpoint plus a few goodies
  99. (2015.05.27 - 19:53:27) Colonel_ServBot: So, I think Im gonna model a monster first as practice for modeling
  100. (2015.05.27 - 19:53:28) Favic: morteriser logs into the Chat.
  101. (2015.05.27 - 19:53:30) The_Walrus: sure is band-aid
  102. (2015.05.27 - 19:53:46) Gaia: do a slime, serv
  103. (2015.05.27 - 19:53:50) Blackmore_Darkwing: Stone Man was 31 if memory serves. But I have that written down somewheres
  104. (2015.05.27 - 19:54:00) Gaia: those are very basic, that you can't fuck up even if you tried
  105. (2015.05.27 - 19:54:19) Blackmore_Darkwing: Yeah, he's 31 screens
  106. (2015.05.27 - 19:54:38) Karakato: yep, so one of the longer stages indeed
  107. (2015.05.27 - 19:54:57) Blackmore_Darkwing: Oh absolutely
  108. (2015.05.27 - 19:54:59) Thanatos-Zero: The first screen where Pyro Man Stage starts is the boss room.
  109. (2015.05.27 - 19:55:13) Thanatos-Zero: Going back to the generator room is optional
  110. (2015.05.27 - 19:55:35) Thanatos-Zero: I meant the hallway to the boss
  111. (2015.05.27 - 19:55:46) Thanatos-Zero: You know between two doors
  112. (2015.05.27 - 19:56:40) Karakato: i dont follow tz... you can kill the boss without going through his stage?
  113. (2015.05.27 - 19:57:01) Favic: Blackhook logs into the Chat.

  117. (2015.05.27 - 19:57:25) Thanatos-Zero: Let me explain.
  118. (2015.05.27 - 19:57:26) Favic: -Eric- logs into the Chat.
  119. (2015.05.27 - 19:57:34) Colonel_ServBot: So, yesterday I discovered that Blender had an Export feature
  120. (2015.05.27 - 19:58:41) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: >not knowing it had one
  121. (2015.05.27 - 19:58:43) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: serv pls
  122. (2015.05.27 - 19:59:12) Favic: MegaBossMan has been logged out (Timeout).
  123. (2015.05.27 - 19:59:38) Thanatos-Zero: Four RMs of our game have 2 instead of 1 stage.
  124. These are the more difficult of the 8 RMs.
  125. (2015.05.27 - 20:00:39) Thanatos-Zero: Normally you can go to the shop or pick another RM, but a few RM's do not allow you, after beating their first stage.
  126. (2015.05.27 - 20:00:45) Favic: Rhythm has been logged out (Timeout).

  128. (2015.05.27 - 20:01:04) The_Walrus: >2 stages for a rm
  129. (2015.05.27 - 20:01:13) The_Walrus: what
  130. (2015.05.27 - 20:01:20) Karakato: thats like mm8 then?
  131. (2015.05.27 - 20:01:39) Thanatos-Zero: Pyro Man's and Duplex Man's stages have those
  132. (2015.05.27 - 20:01:52) The_Walrus: >Duplex man
  133. (2015.05.27 - 20:01:54) Karakato: ordo they have 2 selectable stages on screen?
  134. (2015.05.27 - 20:02:07) Blackmore_Darkwing: More like MM8, Kara
  135. (2015.05.27 - 20:02:14) Rhythm: 2-3 unique enemies per stage is about right, correct?
  136. (2015.05.27 - 20:02:23) Blackmore_Darkwing: I...maybe?
  137. (2015.05.27 - 20:02:24) Lamda: i'd say the doc robot stages honestly
  138. (2015.05.27 - 20:02:36) MegaBusterBloo throws bouncy ball
  139. (2015.05.27 - 20:02:46) Favic: DarkSamus993 has been logged out (Timeout).
  140. (2015.05.27 - 20:02:58) MegaBusterBloo gets hit in the crotch by said bouncy ball
  141. (2015.05.27 - 20:03:02) Blackmore_Darkwing: No, not Doc Robot, not in MM Odyssey's case.
  142. (2015.05.27 - 20:03:10) Thanatos-Zero: One for escaping the hydrothermal complex and the other halting space station Zenith from colliding with Earth.
  143. (2015.05.27 - 20:03:29) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: >Metal Slug had a Saturn port
  144. (2015.05.27 - 20:03:31) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: huh
  145. (2015.05.27 - 20:03:38) Karakato: soundslike something from the x series
  146. (2015.05.27 - 20:03:51) Lamda: then it sounds like an unnecessary gimmick
  147. (2015.05.27 - 20:03:53) MegaBusterBloo: Holy shit that's alot of money
  148. (2015.05.27 - 20:04:04) The_Walrus: >space station zenith
  149. (2015.05.27 - 20:04:09) Lamda: if all one has to do is escape the plant
  150. (2015.05.27 - 20:04:10) The_Walrus: >colliding with earth
  151. (2015.05.27 - 20:04:11) The_Walrus: X5
  152. (2015.05.27 - 20:04:13) The_Walrus: is that you?
  153. (2015.05.27 - 20:04:13) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: yeah but it has a lot of stuff
  154. (2015.05.27 - 20:04:16) Lamda: then why teleport there in the first place
  155. (2015.05.27 - 20:05:13) Thanatos-Zero: Only Bolt's and Necro's Double Stages allow you to restock at the shop or giving you the option to visit another RM after beating their first stage.
  156. (2015.05.27 - 20:05:14) MegaBusterBloo: it doesn't matter
  157. (2015.05.27 - 20:05:37) MegaBusterBloo: 800$ for a multi-platform user interface?
  158. (2015.05.27 - 20:05:47) MegaBusterBloo: 2much4me
  159. (2015.05.27 - 20:07:11) Lamda: it sounds like an unnecessary gimmick the way you're describing it

  161. (2015.05.27 - 20:07:24) Favic: Blackhook has been logged out (Timeout).
  162. (2015.05.27 - 20:07:33) Thanatos-Zero: Duplex Man's Double stage consists of reaching the Space Station Zenith via Space Rush Adapter, because the Zenith has a jamming field, which doesn't allow Rock to directly teleport in.
  163. (2015.05.27 - 20:08:09) Lamda: k that one makes sense
  164. (2015.05.27 - 20:08:19) Lamda: what's the rationale for the hydrothermal plant
  165. (2015.05.27 - 20:08:30) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: what's TZ talking about?
  166. (2015.05.27 - 20:08:35) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: some fangame he's making or
  167. (2015.05.27 - 20:08:40) The_Walrus: his game
  168. (2015.05.27 - 20:08:46) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: ah
  169. (2015.05.27 - 20:08:46) Blackmore_Darkwing: Fangame he's part of. Mega Man Odyssey
  170. (2015.05.27 - 20:08:56) Blackmore_Darkwing: Not actually his game if I recall, but he's helping
  171. (2015.05.27 - 20:09:33) Thanatos-Zero: Rock will try to escape after shooting down the generator which keeps the Hydrothermal arms plant working on Hawaii.
  172. (2015.05.27 - 20:09:44) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: >Hawaii
  173. (2015.05.27 - 20:09:46) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: lol
  174. (2015.05.27 - 20:10:13) Favic: Colonel_ServBot logs into the Chat.
  175. (2015.05.27 - 20:10:18) Lamda: how does that help people exactly
  176. (2015.05.27 - 20:10:28) Karakato: Isthere a page for it though?
  177. (2015.05.27 - 20:10:47) Lamda: if megs is out to save people why would he shut down the power source of all of hawaii
  178. (2015.05.27 - 20:10:52) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: honestly putting real world places in a megaman game feels off
  179. (2015.05.27 - 20:11:20) Thanatos-Zero: But the teleportation out fails, because a security measure of the plant makes sure, you can't escape.
  180. (2015.05.27 - 20:11:41) Lamda: seems like a cop-out excuse to me
  181. (2015.05.27 - 20:11:41) Thanatos-Zero: It is the same as with the Prison Mission in Zero 4.
  182. (2015.05.27 - 20:12:02) Lamda: zero universe is much more serious than classic
  183. (2015.05.27 - 20:12:19) Lamda: i don't accept that as a reasonable explanation
  184. (2015.05.27 - 20:12:24) Colonel_ServBot: Actually, EDX, they use Japan as the main place in the Megamix manga
  185. (2015.05.27 - 20:12:45) Colonel_ServBot: And Megaman 5 also gives you RMs based on stereotypes
  186. (2015.05.27 - 20:12:47) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: but that's non canon though
  187. (2015.05.27 - 20:12:47) Thanatos-Zero: We, meaning I, Ron and Kuja wanted to have a RM stage where you have to escape.
  188. (2015.05.27 - 20:12:50) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: i think
  189. (2015.05.27 - 20:13:07) Colonel_ServBot: Stereotypes of existing places*
  190. (2015.05.27 - 20:13:22) The_Walrus: wasn't that 6
  191. (2015.05.27 - 20:13:27) The_Walrus: what with robots made around the world
  192. (2015.05.27 - 20:13:30) The_Walrus: >flame man
  193. (2015.05.27 - 20:13:31) Lamda: so make that the last fortress stage tz
  194. (2015.05.27 - 20:13:58) Lamda: it makes far more sense for a last-minute jammer to be activated to prevent escape in the final stage than it does in the middle of the game
  195. (2015.05.27 - 20:14:06) Lamda: at least in classic
  196. (2015.05.27 - 20:14:41) Favic: Valo logs into the Chat.
  197. (2015.05.27 - 20:14:41) Valo: Hi
  198. (2015.05.27 - 20:15:13) Thanatos-Zero: Super Metroid and Metroid Prime make you to escape the places you visit first in the games.
  199. (2015.05.27 - 20:15:39) The_Walrus: those are also different games
  200. (2015.05.27 - 20:15:44) Karakato: well mega man aint metroid
  201. (2015.05.27 - 20:15:47) The_Walrus: with a different style of game
  202. (2015.05.27 - 20:15:50) Thanatos-Zero: But they give you plenty of time
  203. (2015.05.27 - 20:15:52) Lamda: you're not making metroid
  204. (2015.05.27 - 20:15:57) Thanatos-Zero: to escape
  205. (2015.05.27 - 20:16:00) Lamda: seriously
  206. (2015.05.27 - 20:16:02) Thanatos-Zero: We are making a game
  207. (2015.05.27 - 20:16:15) Lamda: if the only justifications you have are to compare to completely different games and gameplay that do it
  208. (2015.05.27 - 20:16:21) Lamda: that should be a cue it's not a good idea
  209. (2015.05.27 - 20:16:55) Thanatos-Zero: We give the player in Megaman Odyssey plenty of time to escape the facility in Pyro 2.
  210. (2015.05.27 - 20:17:39) Lamda: it wouldn't matter if you gave him six hours of time
  211. (2015.05.27 - 20:17:45) Blackmore_Darkwing: Time doesn't seem like the issue.
  212. (2015.05.27 - 20:17:47) Lamda: the amount of time is not proportional to how good of an idea it is
  213. (2015.05.27 - 20:18:03) Thanatos-Zero: A real time 8 minute limit, which is even more than the 1st Super Mario Brothers level.
  214. (2015.05.27 - 20:18:12) Lamda: your only excuses for justifying it have been "but these other games did it"
  215. (2015.05.27 - 20:18:16) Lamda: that's not a good thing
  216. (2015.05.27 - 20:18:20) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: "FORM..?ºAIFFCOMM........cÀ..@.“¨......APCM" interesting header
  217. (2015.05.27 - 20:18:59) Thanatos-Zero: Before you murder the idea, we like you to test play the stage.
  218. (2015.05.27 - 20:19:16) Rhythm: I think I just came up with a douchey mini boss that's so simple
  219. (2015.05.27 - 20:19:18) Thanatos-Zero: We want the execution to be as good as possible.
  220. (2015.05.27 - 20:19:43) MegaBusterBloo: have any of you guys been able to log into the sandbox?
  221. (2015.05.27 - 20:19:46) Lamda: the fact that you are completely unwilling to hear criticism of the idea doesn't help your case either

  223. (2015.05.27 - 20:19:55) Samario: boo!
  224. (2015.05.27 - 20:20:03) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: oh hey there
  225. (2015.05.27 - 20:20:06) Thanatos-Zero: And you don't want to give it a chance
  226. (2015.05.27 - 20:20:39) The_Walrus: what chance is needed
  227. (2015.05.27 - 20:20:39) Lamda: you're right
  228. (2015.05.27 - 20:20:41) Lamda: i don't
  229. (2015.05.27 - 20:20:43) The_Walrus: it's a timed stage
  230. (2015.05.27 - 20:20:45) The_Walrus: oh boy
  231. (2015.05.27 - 20:20:46) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: why would he play test it
  232. (2015.05.27 - 20:20:46) The_Walrus: big deal
  233. (2015.05.27 - 20:20:48) The_Walrus: such wow
  234. (2015.05.27 - 20:20:50) Lamda: because i think it's a pointless gimmick and a bad idea
  235. (2015.05.27 - 20:21:11) Lamda: remember the times i was initially writing VZ's plot and you badgered me because it had bad ideas in it?
  236. (2015.05.27 - 20:21:14) Lamda: this is no different
  237. (2015.05.27 - 20:21:18) Rhythm: Go with it this way TZ
  238. (2015.05.27 - 20:21:25) Rhythm: its never been done in a classic game
  239. (2015.05.27 - 20:21:36) Rhythm: theres likely a reason for that
  240. (2015.05.27 - 20:21:43) Lamda: and honestly the longer stage isn't even the issue
  241. (2015.05.27 - 20:21:48) Lamda: it's the fact that it's split
  242. (2015.05.27 - 20:21:53) Thanatos-Zero: Ehm... Ballade stage the escape
  243. (2015.05.27 - 20:22:04) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: so wait, two stages for one bos?
  244. (2015.05.27 - 20:22:06) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: boss*
  245. (2015.05.27 - 20:22:16) The_Walrus: ballade's stage wasn't timed
  246. (2015.05.27 - 20:22:20) The_Walrus: nor was it very long
  247. (2015.05.27 - 20:22:32) Thanatos-Zero: Oh it explodes
  248. (2015.05.27 - 20:22:45) Thanatos-Zero: directly behind you
  249. (2015.05.27 - 20:23:08) Blackmore_Darkwing: Ballade was also a Mega Man Killer, not a robot master.
  250. (2015.05.27 - 20:23:23) Lamda: special instance don't count
  251. (2015.05.27 - 20:23:27) Lamda: *instances
  252. (2015.05.27 - 20:23:30) The_Walrus doesn't remember any explosion chasing you
  253. (2015.05.27 - 20:23:31) Thanatos-Zero: It does
  254. (2015.05.27 - 20:23:40) Lamda: have you noticed we haven't mentioned vile's stage in X3
  255. (2015.05.27 - 20:23:45) Lamda: because he wasn't a maverick
  256. (2015.05.27 - 20:24:27) MegaBusterBloo: ooh
  257. (2015.05.27 - 20:24:33) MegaBusterBloo: i found something neat

  260. (2015.05.27 - 20:25:12) Thanatos-Zero: Okay, you like me to go unrealistic and allow the player to leave the stage like a toon from his chains only to put them back on?
  261. (2015.05.27 - 20:25:34) The_Walrus: wut
  262. (2015.05.27 - 20:26:03) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: HAHAHA OH MY GOD
  263. (2015.05.27 - 20:26:17) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: okay so Metal Slug XX just shoves a bunch of AFS files into one
  264. (2015.05.27 - 20:26:24) Thanatos-Zero: Like after beating Pyro 1 go to the shop and go back to Pyro 2 for to escape it.
  265. (2015.05.27 - 20:26:34) Lamda: okay
  266. (2015.05.27 - 20:26:37) Thanatos-Zero: That defeats the purpose of escaping
  267. (2015.05.27 - 20:26:42) Lamda: the way that that sounds really stupid to you?
  268. (2015.05.27 - 20:26:45) Lamda: that's how this sounds to us
  269. (2015.05.27 - 20:26:49) Blackmore_Darkwing: No, they're saying the escape is a bad idea in the first place.
  270. (2015.05.27 - 20:27:12) Lamda: you have no actual reason for why the first stage is even necessary
  271. (2015.05.27 - 20:27:16) Thanatos-Zero: Point is you don#t give it a chance.
  272. (2015.05.27 - 20:27:21) Lamda: yes, mega has to knock out a power plant
  273. (2015.05.27 - 20:27:24) Lamda: that's fine, makes sense
  274. (2015.05.27 - 20:27:33) The_Walrus: >give it a chance
  275. (2015.05.27 - 20:27:36) The_Walrus: LITERALLY
  276. (2015.05.27 - 20:27:37) Gaia: holy shit I go to clean for a bit and rationality has left the building
  277. (2015.05.27 - 20:27:38) The_Walrus: ONLY WORKS
  278. (2015.05.27 - 20:27:41) Lamda: then he has to escape because somehow he can't teleport
  279. (2015.05.27 - 20:27:43) The_Walrus: IF IT'S A BRAND NEW GIMMICK
  280. (2015.05.27 - 20:27:46) The_Walrus: NEVER DONE BEFORE
  281. (2015.05.27 - 20:27:52) Lamda: why can't he teleport?
  282. (2015.05.27 - 20:27:56) Lamda: oh right
  283. (2015.05.27 - 20:28:06) Lamda: there's a security measure in place that jams that sort of signal
  284. (2015.05.27 - 20:28:13) Lamda: now since you want to play the realism card
  285. (2015.05.27 - 20:28:19) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: okay so AFS file explorer opened the bin
  286. (2015.05.27 - 20:28:29) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: who the hell even came up with the idea of shoving files into one anyway
  287. (2015.05.27 - 20:28:33) Lamda: why the fuck would a power plant have a security measure that prevents everyone inside from escaping in the event of a meltdown or critical failure?
  288. (2015.05.27 - 20:28:34) Gaia: what's going on now?
  289. (2015.05.27 - 20:28:35) Thanatos-Zero: You need to halt the production of Wily's war machines on Hawaii
  290. (2015.05.27 - 20:28:38) Gaia: heeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyey
  291. (2015.05.27 - 20:28:42) Gaia: aaeayeyeyeyyeyeeye
  292. (2015.05.27 - 20:29:02) Lamda: the amount of unnecessary worker deaths that would cause is ridiculous
  293. (2015.05.27 - 20:29:08) Gaia starts blasting the song
  294. (2015.05.27 - 20:29:18) Thanatos-Zero: It is a facility which wily built himself by his machines
  295. (2015.05.27 - 20:29:19) Lamda: and you said wily likes to spare his machines
  296. (2015.05.27 - 20:29:35) Gaia: CONTINUITY
  297. (2015.05.27 - 20:29:38) Gaia: WHAT IS THAT
  298. (2015.05.27 - 20:29:48) Lamda: so if wily likes to spare his machines why would he prevent them from saving themselves from destruction in the event of a power meltdown
  299. (2015.05.27 - 20:29:50) Thanatos-Zero: let me finish
  300. (2015.05.27 - 20:29:54) Gaia: A MISERABLE BUNCH OF LIES, THAT'S WHAT
  301. (2015.05.27 - 20:29:54) Lamda: i don't have to
  302. (2015.05.27 - 20:30:04) Lamda: it's a stupid idea and you've contradicted yourself on it
  303. (2015.05.27 - 20:30:19) Lamda: if wily wants to spare his machines putting that security measure in is counterproductive
  304. (2015.05.27 - 20:30:32) Lamda: but if he installs the measure but allows his own bots to teleport out why the hell can't mega
  305. (2015.05.27 - 20:30:40) Lamda: either way something's screwy
  306. (2015.05.27 - 20:30:50) The_Walrus: special teleport signal pre-programmed into his bots?
  307. (2015.05.27 - 20:30:57) Lamda: and it can't be chalked up to "oh he just blocked mega's own signal"
  308. (2015.05.27 - 20:31:03) Lamda: because that is a cop-out excuse to hell and back
  309. (2015.05.27 - 20:31:05) Favic: Colonel_ServBot has been logged out (Timeout).
  310. (2015.05.27 - 20:31:19) Lamda: it's not the concept of a timed stage or escape stage i'm annoyed by
  311. (2015.05.27 - 20:31:26) Thanatos-Zero: the non combat machines escape via shortcuts out of the facility, while the combat modells engage Rock, so he doesn't make it out alive
  312. (2015.05.27 - 20:31:38) Lamda: it's the fact that it has no rational explanation other than you three wanting it
  313. (2015.05.27 - 20:31:44) Lamda: okay
  314. (2015.05.27 - 20:31:51) Lamda: so why can't mega take one of these shortcuts
  315. (2015.05.27 - 20:31:57) Gaia: codename P.E.N.I.S.

  317. (2015.05.27 - 20:32:12) Lamda: they would have to remain open for a considerable amount of time so that the workers can all escape
  318. (2015.05.27 - 20:32:28) Lamda: also
  319. (2015.05.27 - 20:32:31) Thanatos-Zero: Because he doesn't have the ID identification
  320. (2015.05.27 - 20:32:52) Lamda: you don't put ID checks in a critical escape situation
  321. (2015.05.27 - 20:33:01) Lamda: that is fucking stupid
  322. (2015.05.27 - 20:33:03) Valo: id is identification tz
  323. (2015.05.27 - 20:33:12) Lamda: also

  325. (2015.05.27 - 20:33:18) Lamda: if the plant gets sealed off to fill with lava
  326. (2015.05.27 - 20:33:26) Lamda: then what purpose do the combat bots serve
  327. (2015.05.27 - 20:33:43) Lamda: if the facility is just gonna fill up with something that can kill mega why stock the extra muscle
  328. (2015.05.27 - 20:33:50) Lamda: and another thing
  329. (2015.05.27 - 20:33:56) Thanatos-Zero: STOP
  330. (2015.05.27 - 20:33:59) Lamda: if he can't teleport and can't use the worker shortcuts
  331. (2015.05.27 - 20:34:03) Lamda: how the hell does he get out
  332. (2015.05.27 - 20:34:04) Lamda: no

  336. (2015.05.27 - 20:34:21) Lamda: your explanations do not make sense
  337. (2015.05.27 - 20:34:36) Lamda: your explanations only contradict earlier explanations
  338. (2015.05.27 - 20:34:36) Thanatos-Zero flips table

  340. (2015.05.27 - 20:34:49) Lamda: now consider this
  341. (2015.05.27 - 20:34:54) Thanatos-Zero: YOu never hear the entire story
  342. (2015.05.27 - 20:35:01) Thanatos-Zero: screw this
  343. (2015.05.27 - 20:35:03) Lamda: the fact that you even have to keep up with my questions to explain yourself is not a good sign
  344. (2015.05.27 - 20:35:04) Thanatos-Zero: im out
  345. (2015.05.27 - 20:35:13) Lamda: i shouldn't need to know the entire plot to explain a single stage
  346. (2015.05.27 - 20:35:17) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: oh
  347. (2015.05.27 - 20:35:26) Lamda: you should explain your ingame elements better so that they actually make sense
  348. (2015.05.27 - 20:35:52) Gaia: oh shit
  349. (2015.05.27 - 20:35:57) Blackmore_Darkwing: I'm pretty sure he's walked away at this point.
  350. (2015.05.27 - 20:36:04) Lamda: and for the record if you don't like criticism and questions, why are you even considering a gameplay element that's only ever been seen once before in classic
  351. (2015.05.27 - 20:36:10) Gaia: oh-ho-ho-ho-ho-oh shit
  352. (2015.05.27 - 20:36:10) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: my sides

  370. (2015.05.27 - 20:38:12) Lamda: if you'll note i specifically said i didn't mind the longer stages, or even the double stages if they were handled well

  372. (2015.05.27 - 20:38:20) Rhythm: present to the public who denounce it as unnecessary
  373. (2015.05.27 - 20:38:55) Rhythm: Argument is that "we like it" and refuse criticism
  374. (2015.05.27 - 20:38:59) Lamda: i minded that the idea of an escape stage, something unheard-of in megaman classic outside of fortress or special enemy stages, was thrown in because the devs liked it and provided shoddy explanations of why it "works"
  375. (2015.05.27 - 20:39:11) Lamda: if he can't handle that that is not my problem
  376. (2015.05.27 - 20:39:23) Rhythm: Constantly...CONSTANTLY this keeps happening
  377. (2015.05.27 - 20:39:37) Gaia: if anything, it's gonna get them humiliated
  378. (2015.05.27 - 20:39:39) Lamda: what is my problem is that i will eventually be among those who play this game, and i was presented an opportunity to provide in-development feedback
  379. (2015.05.27 - 20:39:47) Lamda: something that is extremely critical to how a game can go
  380. (2015.05.27 - 20:39:55) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: it's entertaining to watch ima (goes away)
  381. (2015.05.27 - 20:40:08) Lamda: it's not because i felt like shitting on the work as a whole or anything like that
  382. (2015.05.27 - 20:40:50) Lamda: it's because too many MM fan projects have suffered from the mentality of devs doing as they please and denouncing criticism with bad explanation after bad explanation
  383. (2015.05.27 - 20:40:50) Gaia: and this is most likely why fan-made projects Rockman Ciel kicked the bucket. their programmer fell out likely because he couldn't handle the crit
  384. (2015.05.27 - 20:40:56) Threxx: this is why the master cust system has been indefinitely shelved from IFI
  385. (2015.05.27 - 20:40:59) Lamda: and a situation arose to potentially prevent that
  386. (2015.05.27 - 20:41:08) The_Walrus: i think that part of the problem is, too often, devs surround themselves with people who think similarly to them so they all like ideas with no one to crit it so that when someone does they react poorly
  387. (2015.05.27 - 20:41:10) Lamda: clearly it's still going to happen
  388. (2015.05.27 - 20:41:15) MidniteW: Rockman Ciel didn't even have anything
  389. (2015.05.27 - 20:41:19) Lamda: that's exactly the problem
  390. (2015.05.27 - 20:41:27) Gaia: If anything, I agree with matt here
  391. (2015.05.27 - 20:41:28) Lamda: which is why i haven't actually got a true "team"
  392. (2015.05.27 - 20:41:32) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: matt is right on the money
  393. (2015.05.27 - 20:41:40) Lamda: hell
  394. (2015.05.27 - 20:41:42) Gaia: Exactly, mid
  395. (2015.05.27 - 20:41:55) Lamda: it's why most of the projects here come to chat for feedback, even if there is a team
  396. (2015.05.27 - 20:42:02) Gaia: it had nothing due to no direction, instead all it got was fanart
  397. (2015.05.27 - 20:42:18) Lamda: there's enough variety in opinion and method of thought here to draw a solid pool of feedback
  398. (2015.05.27 - 20:42:36) Favic: Colonel_ServBot has been logged out (Timeout).
  399. (2015.05.27 - 20:42:46) Rhythm: Yet it still happens
  400. (2015.05.27 - 20:42:51) Lamda: so when there is almost a unanimous voicing of "hey this is kind of a bad idea" and it gets immediately refused with a petulance that would rival Copy X's
  401. (2015.05.27 - 20:42:57) Gaia: hell, most of the story of nin's project changed was BECAUSE of feedback
  402. (2015.05.27 - 20:42:57) Lamda: i'm going to get a little irate
  403. (2015.05.27 - 20:43:24) Rhythm: It comes to a point of "if you aren't looking for outside opinions, why present it in the first place?"
  404. (2015.05.27 - 20:43:38) Lamda: if TZ can't handle that well, it sucks and i'm a bit disappointed, but i'm not going to pull punches
  405. (2015.05.27 - 20:43:46) Lamda: exactly
  406. (2015.05.27 - 20:43:48) Gaia: I mean, it took awhile, but it went from an olympian-centric game to a guild-based one because of negative feedback
  407. (2015.05.27 - 20:44:04) Gaia: the olympian story wouldn't work
  408. (2015.05.27 - 20:44:12) MidniteW: There's also people that don't thoroughly understand the mechanics and world view of what they're representing
  409. (2015.05.27 - 20:44:14) Lamda: i fear that MMO may fall into the circlejerk development
  410. (2015.05.27 - 20:44:17) The_Walrus: because sometimes people aren't looking for opinions, rather validation
  411. (2015.05.27 - 20:44:17) Rhythm: And it's clear it's a "well we were looking for validation, not criticism"
  412. (2015.05.27 - 20:44:23) Lamda: and i'd like that to not happen
  413. (2015.05.27 - 20:44:32) Rhythm: Scary matt
  414. (2015.05.27 - 20:44:39) Rhythm: fucking scary right there
  415. (2015.05.27 - 20:44:42) Lamda: 2spooky
  416. (2015.05.27 - 20:44:43) The_Walrus: spooky even
  417. (2015.05.27 - 20:44:46) The_Walrus: :I
  418. (2015.05.27 - 20:44:47) Threxx: >_>
  419. (2015.05.27 - 20:45:02) Gaia: and if anything, the game is actually benefitting from the feedback in the long run, as it's not being held down by greek mythos
  420. (2015.05.27 - 20:45:22) Blackmore_Darkwing: Not a good way to think. Validation doesn't really help you in the long run.
  421. (2015.05.27 - 20:45:36) Rhythm: It doesn't in any way
  422. (2015.05.27 - 20:45:56) Lamda: validation is appropriate when the concept has earned it
  423. (2015.05.27 - 20:45:59) Rhythm: bit despite an acknowledgement that it's a problem...it still happens
  424. (2015.05.27 - 20:46:06) Lamda: and that validation is earned through criticism and buildup
  425. (2015.05.27 - 20:46:14) Gaia: we learned from these mistakes, and worked with them
  426. (2015.05.27 - 20:46:26) Rhythm: And no one has ever said "okay, why do you not think this is a good idea?"
  427. (2015.05.27 - 20:46:40) Rhythm: no, it's defended like its the friggan ark
  428. (2015.05.27 - 20:47:07) Gaia: to the point that we got a functional engine going
  429. (2015.05.27 - 20:47:13) Rhythm: Thankfully, in one known instance, it got through
  430. (2015.05.27 - 20:47:17) Thanatos-Zero: We have never tried it before
  431. (2015.05.27 - 20:47:28) Thanatos-Zero: And we wanted to try it for the fun.
  432. (2015.05.27 - 20:47:31) Thanatos-Zero: -_-
  433. (2015.05.27 - 20:47:40) Thanatos-Zero: I care very much about you Lamda
  434. (2015.05.27 - 20:47:52) Gaia: you read right, our project might have a working engine in the forseeable future
  435. (2015.05.27 - 20:48:23) Gaia: we're just ironing out any kinks that might be left before we show it.
  436. (2015.05.27 - 20:48:35) Thanatos-Zero: but it makes me sad if I cannot give it a full expalaination if I am disrupted with so many buts and ifs.
  437. (2015.05.27 - 20:48:42) Thanatos-Zero: It is not funny
  438. (2015.05.27 - 20:48:56) Thanatos-Zero: I care about a well done execution.
  439. (2015.05.27 - 20:48:57) The_Walrus: then give a full explanation in the first place
  440. (2015.05.27 - 20:49:00) Threxx: people are not trying to be funny, they are concerned and are attempting to crit
  441. (2015.05.27 - 20:49:03) Thanatos-Zero: of a idea
  442. (2015.05.27 - 20:49:03) Threxx: ^^^^^^^@matt
  443. (2015.05.27 - 20:49:59) Lamda: here's the issue
  444. (2015.05.27 - 20:50:09) Lamda: you didn't have a full explanation
  445. (2015.05.27 - 20:50:10) Gaia: hell, this is why I'm kind of scared of doing a fangame to begin with, I don't want to exactly write myself in a corner with mega man characters
  446. (2015.05.27 - 20:50:26) Lamda: because your rebuttals didn't come up until the countering points were mentioned
  447. (2015.05.27 - 20:50:58) Gaia: or wind up with a team that's constantly circlejerking
  448. (2015.05.27 - 20:51:31) Gaia: it's unnerving
  449. (2015.05.27 - 20:51:43) Lamda: you explanations of the gimmick as a security measure don't make sense
  450. (2015.05.27 - 20:52:02) Lamda: the fact that it was able to be broken down multiple downs is proof enough of that
  451. (2015.05.27 - 20:52:05) Thanatos-Zero: Here it is it again.
  452. (2015.05.27 - 20:52:27) Gaia: suspension of disbelief, tz
  453. (2015.05.27 - 20:52:52) Gaia: this is why everyone has a hard time taking the X series seriously
  454. (2015.05.27 - 20:52:58) Thanatos-Zero: I was writing down the explaination, but you say these things, which make me nervous to write down faster, so I release the bits, so I can continue writng.
  455. (2015.05.27 - 20:53:26) Gaia: that also brings the issue of slowly turning the classic series into X
  456. (2015.05.27 - 20:53:28) Thanatos-Zero: But then more things come up and it halts me because I care so much.
  457. (2015.05.27 - 20:53:32) Gaia: that just doesn't work
  458. (2015.05.27 - 20:53:48) Lamda: but rather than acknowledge the genuine reasons why it doesn't make sense, you withdrew into a circlejerk mentality that we just didn't get it because your supposed "full explanation" wasn't let to be stated in full
  459. (2015.05.27 - 20:54:01) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: tz just calm down
  460. (2015.05.27 - 20:54:07) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: keep writing the explanation
  461. (2015.05.27 - 20:54:10) Lamda: okay you really need to to stop with this martyred hero mentality any time you're confronted about anything
  462. (2015.05.27 - 20:54:37) Lamda: everybody cares about their work
  463. (2015.05.27 - 20:54:52) Lamda: doesn't need to be brought up every time aspects of it get questioned
  464. (2015.05.27 - 20:55:19) Lamda: you never saw me talk about how much i care about VZ's plot and the bridge tie-in when you pointed out storyline flaws, did you?
  465. (2015.05.27 - 20:55:46) Gaia: this makes me cry internally
  466. (2015.05.27 - 20:56:04) Lamda: the fact of the matter is
  467. (2015.05.27 - 20:56:11) Thanatos-Zero: I am getting uneasy, for not to finish things. You put me into pressure to explain and in that process I forget things I wanted to write down.
  468.
  469. We are in a chat afterall and not in a forum.
  470. (2015.05.27 - 20:56:23) Gaia: when canon is inexplicably tossed aside for nonsensical fanon.. that really bugs me.
  471. (2015.05.27 - 20:56:30) The_Walrus: then calm the fuck down
  472. (2015.05.27 - 20:56:32) The_Walrus: and type
  473. (2015.05.27 - 20:56:36) The_Walrus: while ignoring chat
  474. (2015.05.27 - 20:56:38) The_Walrus: until you finish
  475. (2015.05.27 - 20:56:40) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: just chill and type
  476. (2015.05.27 - 20:56:52) Favic: Colonel_ServBot logs into the Chat.
  477. (2015.05.27 - 20:56:52) Gaia: am I right, guys?
  478. (2015.05.27 - 20:57:05) Favic: kobeck logs into the Chat.
  479. (2015.05.27 - 20:57:17) kobeck: FOR TAU
  480. (2015.05.27 - 20:57:24) Lamda: regardless of whether or not you "care enough" to acknowledge the criticisms presented to you, the fact remains that the concept was picked apart several times over with ease
  481. (2015.05.27 - 20:57:25) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: gaia you're pretty much just ranting at this point
  482. (2015.05.27 - 20:57:45) Gaia: no, i'm not, just explaining why this series is such a bloody wreck
  483. (2015.05.27 - 20:57:55) Lamda: and you getting increasingly defensive and guilt-tripping is also frustrating
  484. (2015.05.27 - 20:58:00) Threxx: no you are ranting gaia
  485. (2015.05.27 - 20:58:07) kobeck: actually i believe in the martyred hero
  486. (2015.05.27 - 20:58:19) Lamda: i've BEEN waiting for your full explanation, but the smaller tidbits you've been posting have been incomplete, so i've picked them apart in the meantime
  487. (2015.05.27 - 20:59:01) Lamda: i'm not deliberately attempting to fuck with your thinking process, but in trying to cut corners in explaining things you're just opening more doors for me to go through
  488. (2015.05.27 - 20:59:22) kobeck: whats this all about?
  489. (2015.05.27 - 20:59:36) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: tz posted some gimmick for a stage
  490. (2015.05.27 - 20:59:39) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: we gave critic
  491. (2015.05.27 - 20:59:44) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: this happened
  492. (2015.05.27 - 20:59:49) Lamda: >comes in with a statement that suggests takign a side
  493. (2015.05.27 - 20:59:56) Lamda: >actually has no idea what's going on
  494. (2015.05.27 - 21:00:10) kobeck: yes
  495. (2015.05.27 - 21:00:11) Lamda: THAT ONLY MAKES THINGS WORSE BECK WATER YOU DOING
  496. (2015.05.27 - 21:00:12) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: also yeah what are you even saying
  497. (2015.05.27 - 21:00:15) MegaBusterBloo: >chrome is running 7 processes, taking up 40% of my cpu
  498. (2015.05.27 - 21:00:29) Threxx: did you
  499. (2015.05.27 - 21:00:31) Threxx: not realize
  500. (2015.05.27 - 21:00:35) MegaBusterBloo doesn't even have chrome open
  501. (2015.05.27 - 21:00:36) Threxx: that chrome does that
  502. (2015.05.27 - 21:00:36) kobeck: i dont know what im doing
  503. (2015.05.27 - 21:00:46) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: it's all the time bloo
  504. (2015.05.27 - 21:00:49) kobeck: I AM A CHAOS LORD
  505. (2015.05.27 - 21:00:54) Lamda: one window of chrome will open that many processes
  506. (2015.05.27 - 21:00:57) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: even when not open it still runs
  507. (2015.05.27 - 21:00:57) Favic: morteriser has been logged out (Timeout).
  508. (2015.05.27 - 21:00:57) kobeck: GLORY FOR CHAOS
  509. (2015.05.27 - 21:01:07) kobeck: SERVE THE DARK GODS
  510. (2015.05.27 - 21:01:11) MegaBusterBloo removes chrome
  511. (2015.05.27 - 21:01:15) Lamda: and the processes that aren't the direct explorer window remain
  512. (2015.05.27 - 21:01:18) Rhythm: Chrome a shit
  513. (2015.05.27 - 21:01:24) Lamda: >doesn't know how to use program
  514. (2015.05.27 - 21:01:26) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: Firefox all day erry day
  515. (2015.05.27 - 21:01:29) Lamda: >uninstalls rather than learns it
  516. (2015.05.27 - 21:01:32) Lamda: >downloads new program
  517. (2015.05.27 - 21:01:35) Lamda: >rinse and repeat
  518. (2015.05.27 - 21:01:38) kobeck: Hmmmm
  519. (2015.05.27 - 21:01:44) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: lol
  520. (2015.05.27 - 21:01:44) kobeck: Time travel
  521. (2015.05.27 - 21:01:54) kobeck: is it possible
  522. (2015.05.27 - 21:02:08) kobeck: impossible
  523. (2015.05.27 - 21:02:10) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: no
  524. (2015.05.27 - 21:02:15) Lamda: okay there's actually a genuine discussion going on
  525. (2015.05.27 - 21:02:31) kobeck: lies
  526. (2015.05.27 - 21:02:40) Threxx: not lies
  527. (2015.05.27 - 21:02:43) MegaBusterBloo: firefox o/
  528. (2015.05.27 - 21:02:49) Lamda: seriously
  529. (2015.05.27 - 21:02:50) kobeck: i feel thats one of natures true laws
  530. (2015.05.27 - 21:02:52) Favic: MegaBossMan has been logged out (Timeout).

  532. (2015.05.27 - 21:02:58) Lamda: this will continue once TZ has his post ready
  533. (2015.05.27 - 21:02:59) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: \o
  534. (2015.05.27 - 21:03:01) Threxx: it is called not being a dick
  535. (2015.05.27 - 21:03:02) kobeck: no one is allowed to break
  536. (2015.05.27 - 21:03:02) The_Walrus: they're being serious kobeck
  537. (2015.05.27 - 21:03:04) Lamda: knock off the randumb
  538. (2015.05.27 - 21:03:07) The_Walrus: christ
  539. (2015.05.27 - 21:03:08) Threxx: if you have nothing to say then do not say anything
  540. (2015.05.27 - 21:03:10) Lamda: it's fuckign annoying
  541. (2015.05.27 - 21:03:14) Lamda: no
  542. (2015.05.27 - 21:03:25) Lamda: in serious discussions distractions actually are - gasp - a BAD IDEA
  543. (2015.05.27 - 21:04:37) Favic: Valo has been logged out (Timeout).
  544. (2015.05.27 - 21:04:46) kobeck: so no time travel?
  545. (2015.05.27 - 21:04:52) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: nno
  546. (2015.05.27 - 21:05:04) Threxx: what do you think
  547. (2015.05.27 - 21:05:04) Lamda: no because i can actually get into that topic and go on for a long time
  548. (2015.05.27 - 21:05:08) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: no time travel
  549. (2015.05.27 - 21:05:15) kobeck: okay parallel dimension
  550. (2015.05.27 - 21:05:20) kobeck: possible?
  551. (2015.05.27 - 21:05:22) Lamda: and there are more important topics awaiting resurrection
  552. (2015.05.27 - 21:05:23) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: btw time travel is impossible
  553. (2015.05.27 - 21:05:29) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: do you not get the point
  554. (2015.05.27 - 21:05:32) Lamda: btw shut up
  555. (2015.05.27 - 21:05:39) Gaia sighs
  556. (2015.05.27 - 21:05:42) Lamda: the universe is a big place and a fourteen year old doesn't have all the answers
  557. (2015.05.27 - 21:05:43) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: me?
  558. (2015.05.27 - 21:05:46) kobeck: what topics?
  559. (2015.05.27 - 21:05:49) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: i'm just saying
  560. (2015.05.27 - 21:06:03) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: the sheer power needed for it would be ludicrous
  561. (2015.05.27 - 21:06:08) kobeck: its good and health to debate the universe
  562. (2015.05.27 - 21:06:14) Lamda: and i'm just saying that denouncing anything scientific is stupid and to shut up
  563. (2015.05.27 - 21:06:20) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: nah
  564. (2015.05.27 - 21:06:25) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: still impossible btw
  565. (2015.05.27 - 21:06:26) Lamda: and for fuck's sake beck we fucking told you what topics
  566. (2015.05.27 - 21:06:28) kobeck: no need to shoot one down because he questions the reality he walks in
  567. (2015.05.27 - 21:06:49) kobeck: no seriously what topics
  568. (2015.05.27 - 21:06:49) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: kobeck please just stop talking until this discussion is over
  569. (2015.05.27 - 21:06:51) Lamda: denouncing something that doesn't currently exist is not questioning reality
  570. (2015.05.27 - 21:06:52) The_Walrus: i'm sorry, what
  571. (2015.05.27 - 21:07:04) Lamda: it's rejecting the concept of a larger reality
  572. (2015.05.27 - 21:07:16) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: what "larger reality"
  573. (2015.05.27 - 21:07:34) Lamda: but for fuck's fucking sake, can we not bring up equally thoughtful discussions that are easy to get sidetracked into
  574. (2015.05.27 - 21:07:49) Lamda: you know what
  575. (2015.05.27 - 21:07:50) Lamda: fuck it
  576. (2015.05.27 - 21:07:56) Lamda: TZ we'll pick this up when you're ready
  577. (2015.05.27 - 21:07:59) Gaia: [urge to kill rising]
  578. (2015.05.27 - 21:08:00) Lamda: i'm gonna learn this kid
  579. (2015.05.27 - 21:08:05) Lamda: hey fuk
  580. (2015.05.27 - 21:08:06) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: lol k
  581. (2015.05.27 - 21:08:09) Lamda: you believe in aliens
  582. (2015.05.27 - 21:08:13) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: no
  583. (2015.05.27 - 21:08:16) kobeck: yes and no
  584. (2015.05.27 - 21:08:17) Lamda: why
  585. (2015.05.27 - 21:08:20) Lamda: i'm not asking you
  586. (2015.05.27 - 21:08:38) Lamda: i'm asking him
  587. (2015.05.27 - 21:08:41) kobeck: yes they exist no ccuz we humans are terrifying
  588. (2015.05.27 - 21:08:56) Lamda: why don't you believe in aliens fuk
  589. (2015.05.27 - 21:08:56) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: because if you're to tell me there's other life forms in this big bunch of nothing that what prove do you have

  591. (2015.05.27 - 21:09:11) Lamda: if i wanted to say that i would say that
  592. (2015.05.27 - 21:09:14) Lamda: answer the fucking question
  593. (2015.05.27 - 21:09:17) kobeck: i believe at the same time no
  594. (2015.05.27 - 21:09:22) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: i just don't
  595. (2015.05.27 - 21:09:29) Lamda: that's not good enough
  596. (2015.05.27 - 21:09:35) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: i've never seen them
  597. (2015.05.27 - 21:09:44) Lamda: that last assumption tells me you have actual reasons
  598. (2015.05.27 - 21:09:46) The_Walrus: saying that aliens don't exist is dismissing the possibility that other intelligent life exists in this vast universe of ours
  599. (2015.05.27 - 21:09:48) Lamda: do you see the wind?
  600. (2015.05.27 - 21:09:53) Gaia: if anything, I believe aliens are out there.. just not who we THINK they are
  601. (2015.05.27 - 21:09:56) kobeck: if they do exist why bother with a primative race like humans
  602. (2015.05.27 - 21:09:59) Threxx acquires metaphorical popcorn
  603. (2015.05.27 - 21:10:00) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: >intellegent life
  604. (2015.05.27 - 21:10:01) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: lol
  605. (2015.05.27 - 21:10:02) Lamda: have you ever seen a bacteria on the bottom of the ocean?
  606. (2015.05.27 - 21:10:17) Lamda: have you seen the bacteria found on mars firsthand?
  607. (2015.05.27 - 21:10:31) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: this conversation is going nowhere, but i just don't believe in them because the sheer idea is dumb
  608. (2015.05.27 - 21:10:32) kobeck: they say theres whater under the ground
  609. (2015.05.27 - 21:10:46) Lamda: it's going to go somewhere
  610. (2015.05.27 - 21:10:56) Gaia: water is a very important compound, beck
  611. (2015.05.27 - 21:10:59) Lamda: as soon as you stop being a stubborn shit and listen to what i'm saying
  612. (2015.05.27 - 21:11:02) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: and lam yes you raise a good point but what is your point
  613. (2015.05.27 - 21:11:07) kobeck: underwater reservoirs
  614. (2015.05.27 - 21:11:18) Lamda: my point is that your logic of "i can't see it therefore it doesn't exist" is fucking retarded
  615. (2015.05.27 - 21:11:25) Gaia: and, Ice! Ice is made of the stuff!
  616. (2015.05.27 - 21:11:31) kobeck: but 2 bad mars has ruster al over the surface
  617. (2015.05.27 - 21:11:37) Lamda: can you see the planets can galaxies outside of telescopic range?
  618. (2015.05.27 - 21:11:39) kobeck: rust*
  619. (2015.05.27 - 21:11:42) The_Walrus: so you're also saying that atheism is retarded?
  620. (2015.05.27 - 21:11:45) Lamda: no, so by your logic they don't exist, right?
  621. (2015.05.27 - 21:11:52) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: that you're using the good ol' "can you see water" debate when you could just, you know, post some actual proof that makes you believe in aliens (if you even do)
  622. (2015.05.27 - 21:12:02) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: seriously, posts something that looks convincing enough
  623. (2015.05.27 - 21:12:05) Gaia: guess what, in over the span of decades, our view of pluto is clearer than ever
  624. (2015.05.27 - 21:12:07) Lamda: atheists who only bash christianity and use any instance of a religious word to act like cunts, yes
  625. (2015.05.27 - 21:12:08) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: i'm all ears if ou can
  626. (2015.05.27 - 21:12:19) kobeck: sigh no religion plz
  627. (2015.05.27 - 21:12:27) Lamda: here's the thing, child
  628. (2015.05.27 - 21:12:27) Gaia: so there's a chance we might FIND something down there if we look even closer
  629. (2015.05.27 - 21:12:35) kobeck: religion only distracts from a conversation
  630. (2015.05.27 - 21:12:38) Lamda: bigger, better, and smarter people than all of us have done the hard work
  631. (2015.05.27 - 21:12:58) Lamda: they have studied the signals and sounds and traces in space
  632. (2015.05.27 - 21:13:00) Lamda: we haven't
  633. (2015.05.27 - 21:13:00) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: oh wait, you can't, because you've never seen aliens just like me but believe them for some reason
  634. (2015.05.27 - 21:13:08) Lamda: you're right
  635. (2015.05.27 - 21:13:20) Lamda: because i'm not a child pretending to be more intelligent than i am
  636. (2015.05.27 - 21:13:21) Gaia: hell, the only known residents on mars right now are goddamn robots
  637. (2015.05.27 - 21:13:27) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: i'm not pretending anything
  638. (2015.05.27 - 21:13:31) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: i'm just saying
  639. (2015.05.27 - 21:13:39) Lamda: and you speak out of term
  640. (2015.05.27 - 21:13:51) kobeck: im just sad that mars used to have life like earth
  641. (2015.05.27 - 21:13:57) Gaia: right, lamda?
  642. (2015.05.27 - 21:13:58) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: and what relevance does being a child have anyway
  643. (2015.05.27 - 21:14:00) Lamda: world-class scientists with more experience than we've been alive haven't found the grey men alive either
  644. (2015.05.27 - 21:14:03) Lamda: but you know what

  648. (2015.05.27 - 21:14:26) Lamda: the "can you see water" debate is pretty fucking sound
  649. (2015.05.27 - 21:14:31) kobeck: get off the aliens
  650. (2015.05.27 - 21:14:34) Lamda: because it can't be debunked
  651. (2015.05.27 - 21:14:47) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: >can you see water
  652. (2015.05.27 - 21:14:56) Lamda: you can't see wind but it's there
  653. (2015.05.27 - 21:15:04) Gaia: even better, stop listening to those that can't tell apart hollywood MYTH from reality
  654. (2015.05.27 - 21:15:07) Lamda: there's no photograph of wind but we know it exists

  656. (2015.05.27 - 21:15:15) Lamda: so why
  657. (2015.05.27 - 21:15:19) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: what are you even on about at this point
  658. (2015.05.27 - 21:15:36) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: it's a personal opinion, it's not fact or anything. i know this
  659. (2015.05.27 - 21:15:37) Lamda: in a universe that you very obviously cannot fathom the true extent of
  660. (2015.05.27 - 21:15:38) Valo: It's coding time lam
  661. (2015.05.27 - 21:15:44) Valo: Get ready
  662. (2015.05.27 - 21:15:51) Lamda: would you be so arrogant to presume that there is only one set of rules
  663. (2015.05.27 - 21:15:51) Gaia: there's dust storms on mars, it's obvious that mars has WIND
  664. (2015.05.27 - 21:15:59) Lamda: it fucking rains fire on mercury
  665. (2015.05.27 - 21:16:19) Lamda: there is a storm on jupiter the size of earth that has been ongoing for hundreds of thousands of years
  666. (2015.05.27 - 21:16:21) Valo: Brutal
  667. (2015.05.27 - 21:16:24) Gaia: And what about venus? it snows heavy metal!
  668. (2015.05.27 - 21:16:36) kobeck: and saturn has corrosive atmosphere'
  669. (2015.05.27 - 21:16:39) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: yes i would because i have opinions. if you can prove them wrong, then fine. but this whole alien talk has been more of "you can see air so aliens exists!"
  670. (2015.05.27 - 21:16:47) Lamda: the rules here on this insignificant speck of dust in a near-infinite expanse don't mean a fucking thing anywhere but here
  671. (2015.05.27 - 21:16:48) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: can't*
  672. (2015.05.27 - 21:16:52) kobeck: so it rains acid
  673. (2015.05.27 - 21:16:52) Lamda: not
  674. (2015.05.27 - 21:16:54) Lamda: even
  675. (2015.05.27 - 21:16:55) Lamda: close
  676. (2015.05.27 - 21:16:59) Lamda: to my point
  677. (2015.05.27 - 21:17:04) Gaia: DO I HAVE TO MENTION HORTON HEARS A WHO?!
  678. (2015.05.27 - 21:17:07) Lamda: i don't really give a shit whether or not you believe in them
  679. (2015.05.27 - 21:17:09) Lamda: that's your business
  680. (2015.05.27 - 21:17:33) kobeck: you know what
  681. (2015.05.27 - 21:17:38) Lamda: but if your only reason is because your own tiny set of rules you've learned in a very short amount of time
  682. (2015.05.27 - 21:17:41) Lamda: i'm gonna cal you on it
  683. (2015.05.27 - 21:17:44) kobeck: i wonder if they have a planet that rains gold

  689. (2015.05.27 - 21:18:03) Lamda: does that count
  690. (2015.05.27 - 21:18:12) kobeck: hmmm
  691. (2015.05.27 - 21:18:13) Gaia: A BOOK WHERE A GODDAMN ELEPHANT STUMBLES UPON A SMALL SPECK THAT ACTUALLY HAS LIFE INSIDE SAID SPECK
  692. (2015.05.27 - 21:18:14) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: why would i want too
  693. (2015.05.27 - 21:18:34) kobeck: hmmm
  694. (2015.05.27 - 21:18:39) kobeck: diamond or gold
  695. (2015.05.27 - 21:18:41) Lamda: because otherwise you grow up to be an obnoxious close-minded shit who rants on blogs about things he refuses to acknowledge?
  696. (2015.05.27 - 21:18:43) Lamda: y'know
  697. (2015.05.27 - 21:18:47) Lamda: the TiA shit?

  701. (2015.05.27 - 21:19:07) Valo: i dont believe in intelligent life outside of earth
  702. (2015.05.27 - 21:19:11) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: just some things are beyond stupid in my mind
  703. (2015.05.27 - 21:19:12) Valo: let me put it that way
  704. (2015.05.27 - 21:19:14) Lamda: the estimated worth of the planet beck is thousands of times more than all the money and gold this planet has ever made or seen
  705. (2015.05.27 - 21:19:15) Valo: :I
  706. (2015.05.27 - 21:19:17) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: aliens are one of the
  707. (2015.05.27 - 21:19:19) Lamda: no

  710. (2015.05.27 - 21:19:28) Lamda: you really don't have an open mind
  711. (2015.05.27 - 21:19:31) Gaia: AND LOOK, THE OTHER CRITTERS AREN'T TOO HAPPY ABOUT THAT, SOUND FUCKING FAMILIAR?!
  712. (2015.05.27 - 21:19:37) kobeck: WHYB WE NO GO INTO SPACE
  713. (2015.05.27 - 21:19:40) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: what makes you say that
  714. (2015.05.27 - 21:19:48) Valo: i believe in space mold
  715. (2015.05.27 - 21:19:53) kobeck: WE HAVE THE NEXT FRONTIER
  716. (2015.05.27 - 21:20:03) kobeck: LET GET THAT GOLD AND DAIMONDS
  717. (2015.05.27 - 21:20:13) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: i've just been stating my opinion you've been trying to elevate yourself higher
  718. (2015.05.27 - 21:20:15) Lamda: because the guy who's basically explained that you don't know shit compared to lifelong scientists who themselves don't discount a possibility just because it's not proven by our rules yet has been met with literal ridicule by a fourteen-year-old who can't grasp the concept
  719. (2015.05.27 - 21:20:29) Lamda: here lemme use a metaphor
  720. (2015.05.27 - 21:20:30) Threxx: i think it is incredibly arrogant for us as humans to believe that we are alone in the universe
  721. (2015.05.27 - 21:20:31) kobeck: FUCK RELIGIOUS CONVERVATIVE ASSHOLE WHO DENY US THE UNIVERSE
  722. (2015.05.27 - 21:20:43) Lamda: let's say there's a car accident
  723. (2015.05.27 - 21:20:45) Threxx: also FuK stop trying to be pseudo-intellectual
  724. (2015.05.27 - 21:20:47) Threxx: because you cant.

  726. (2015.05.27 - 21:20:52) Lamda: and the driver is in cardiac arrest
  727. (2015.05.27 - 21:20:57) Lamda: k?
  728. (2015.05.27 - 21:21:06) Lamda: driver in cardiac arrest on the roadside bleeding from multiple wounds
  729. (2015.05.27 - 21:21:07) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: who's being pseudo-intellectual?
  730. (2015.05.27 - 21:21:18) Threxx: you
  731. (2015.05.27 - 21:21:23) Lamda: a bystander runs up and says "i know some first aid, let me take a look"
  732. (2015.05.27 - 21:21:24) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: i've just been stating my opinion the entire time
  733. (2015.05.27 - 21:21:30) Lamda: this bystander begins to look the driver over
  734. (2015.05.27 - 21:21:33) Threxx: because you think that the classic argument of "we cannot see it, it does not exist"
  735. (2015.05.27 - 21:21:38) Threxx: can we see atoms?
  736. (2015.05.27 - 21:21:38) Threxx: no

  783.
  784. "After Megaman destroys the generator, the section he is in gets sealed off to contain and limit the amount of destruction and also to prevent the escape of any intruder by using jams. The emergency generators have activated, to still provide the entire facility with enough power until the main generator and any damage has repaired.
  785. However due the instability Rock caused, several pipelines which used to pump lava and matrials have increased in inner pressure, causing them to burst open. However because the pipelines break, large amounts of lava leaked, which not only mess up with the machines. At some point all the lava leaks will block all of the pathways where new fresh water comes into facility.
  786. The fresh water which also helped to cool down Rock in the first stage was also used to generate electricy by the main generator. Without it, the destruction of the sealed section is guuranteed and closeby to the sealed section.
  787. At the starting point into the facility itself there will be a broken wall which allows Rock to escape the sealed area, however the nearby jamming is still too strong to escape via teleport, so Rock needs to go further. He however doesn't need tp worry anymore of being destroyed within the sealed area.
  788. Before he leaves the entire jaming field, he encounters a enraged Pyro Man, which is but focusing to take down Rock for the damage he caused.
  789. Defeating him allows Rock to finally escape, as he hears Roll's crying via radio signal, ending the mission by teleporting out."

  792. (2015.05.27 - 21:25:07) Gaia: but I do, definately
  793. (2015.05.27 - 21:25:09) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: threxx keep talking you might actually add something
  794. (2015.05.27 - 21:25:21) Threxx: add something to what?
  795. (2015.05.27 - 21:25:24) Lamda: a fact would be "there have been countless examples in space exploration of occurrences we previously thought impossible here on earth, and from the studies in those occurrences experts in the field have almost unanimously agreed that discounting extended possibilities would be a heinous display of stupidity"
  796. (2015.05.27 - 21:25:30) Lamda: and guess what kid
  797. (2015.05.27 - 21:25:33) Gaia: I do believe that there's something that lives deep within the earth's core

  801. (2015.05.27 - 21:25:55) Threxx: so you can continue to delusionally empower yourself in the cesspool of your own ignorance?
  802. (2015.05.27 - 21:25:57) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: that's another opinion if anything, really
  803. (2015.05.27 - 21:26:09) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: we're all ignorant

  810. (2015.05.27 - 21:26:43) Lamda: i'm not the one saying things like the law, other than proof by smarter men and women that we are ignorant

  812. (2015.05.27 - 21:26:46) Gaia: we can go to space anytime
  813. (2015.05.27 - 21:26:47) Threxx: if you interpreted otherwise then that would be a heinous display of stuoidity
  814. (2015.05.27 - 21:26:55) Thanatos-Zero: Ehm
  815. (2015.05.27 - 21:26:58) Lamda: you are the one outright stating LOLNO THIS CAN'T BE

  831. (2015.05.27 - 21:28:03) Gaia: AND KURATAS IS AN EXAMPLE OF THIS
  832. (2015.05.27 - 21:28:10) Lamda: actually

  835. (2015.05.27 - 21:28:32) Lamda: it does
  836. (2015.05.27 - 21:28:42) Lamda: same way bloo being 12 accounts for a lot of his stupidity

  844. (2015.05.27 - 21:29:23) Thanatos-Zero: Now I am cooled down ironcally compared to now.
  845. (2015.05.27 - 21:29:30) Gaia: just look at this sexy beast

  865. (2015.05.27 - 21:32:44) Lamda: you know this reminds me a lot of the times my parents would explain to my little brother why he was in trouble
  866. (2015.05.27 - 21:33:01) Lamda: and he's just still throw a fit because HIS logic on things obviously made more sense than the people who knew more than him
  867. (2015.05.27 - 21:33:02) Thanatos-Zero: Do you need me to quote my post?
  868. (2015.05.27 - 21:33:28) Gaia: TZ, would you steal a robot?

  882. (2015.05.27 - 21:35:18) Gaia: then again, why would you steal a robot to begin with, knowing full well this robot's going to be sold anyway to the highest bidder against it's will?
  883. (2015.05.27 - 21:35:24) The_Walrus: well you're being tumblr right now FuK so

  892. (2015.05.27 - 21:36:09) Threxx: it was less of an argument and more FuK being a complete ignorant jackass
  893. (2015.05.27 - 21:36:11) Lamda: it's explained better, but i still don't quite get "why"
  894. (2015.05.27 - 21:36:19) Lamda: and here's my reasoning for it
  895. (2015.05.27 - 21:36:24) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: threxx keep going you add nothing!

  920. (2015.05.27 - 21:38:36) Threxx: yeah i think
  921. (2015.05.27 - 21:38:40) Gaia shoves neo down a flight of stairs for the dropkick from earlier
  922. (2015.05.27 - 21:38:40) Threxx: thats when i called you cancer
  923. (2015.05.27 - 21:38:42) Thanatos-Zero: Darn I forgot to mention what the combat and non-combat robots are in the process
  924. (2015.05.27 - 21:38:48) Lamda: don't worry
  925. (2015.05.27 - 21:38:53) Thanatos-Zero: roles
  926. (2015.05.27 - 21:38:57) Lamda: i can understand how they'd work
  927. (2015.05.27 - 21:38:59) MegaBusterBloo flops out of chat so he doesn't get involved in anything dumb
  928. (2015.05.27 - 21:39:00) Valo: What do you call a kkk comedy club?
  929. (2015.05.27 - 21:39:03) Valo: The jkkk
  930. (2015.05.27 - 21:39:07) Lamda: now, those trapped inside the sealed area are presumably left to die
  931. (2015.05.27 - 21:39:08) Threxx: :/
  932. (2015.05.27 - 21:39:15) Favic: kobeck has been logged out (Timeout).
  933. (2015.05.27 - 21:39:16) Valo flees
  934. (2015.05.27 - 21:39:16) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: perfect timing neo
  935. (2015.05.27 - 21:39:21) Lamda: this doesn't particularly settle well with me, but for the sake of gamepaly i can suspend disbelief
  936. (2015.05.27 - 21:39:35) Gaia dropkicks neo for that terrible jocke
  937. (2015.05.27 - 21:39:47) Lamda: the combat bots make sense ONLY because wily's in control
  938. (2015.05.27 - 21:39:54) Valo: It's not racism it's word play!
  939. (2015.05.27 - 21:40:03) Lamda: if it were just a regular plant, they would not make sense, because who would prevent escape in an emergency
  940. (2015.05.27 - 21:40:11) Threxx: it was just a horrible pun
  941. (2015.05.27 - 21:40:17) Thanatos-Zero: Yep
  942. (2015.05.27 - 21:40:18) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: no but everything related to the kk apparently is
  943. (2015.05.27 - 21:40:20) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: somehow
  944. (2015.05.27 - 21:40:24) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: it always is
  945. (2015.05.27 - 21:40:25) Thanatos-Zero: it is no regular plant
  946. (2015.05.27 - 21:40:31) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: kkk* god keyborad
  947. (2015.05.27 - 21:40:34) Threxx: yes because it is the fucking KKK
  948. (2015.05.27 - 21:40:38) Lamda: uh
  949. (2015.05.27 - 21:40:42) Threxx: what about this does not compute in your tiny ass brain
  950. (2015.05.27 - 21:40:46) Thanatos-Zero: It is a plant made exclusively by Wily for his own ends
  951. (2015.05.27 - 21:40:54) Lamda: couple hundred years of blatant hatred leading to murder, rape, and lynching?
  952. (2015.05.27 - 21:40:59) Thanatos-Zero: No human personal
  953. (2015.05.27 - 21:41:00) Lamda: yeah that's allowed to be hated
  954. (2015.05.27 - 21:41:11) Lamda: you wouldn't tell people to get over the holocaust...i hope
  955. (2015.05.27 - 21:41:25) Lamda: now
  956. (2015.05.27 - 21:41:28) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: meh at this point i don't even know what i'm doing sooo
  957. (2015.05.27 - 21:41:30) Lamda: here's the BIG issue i have
  958. (2015.05.27 - 21:41:37) Lamda: obviously
  959. (2015.05.27 - 21:41:44) Lamda: the plant is in meltdown mode
  960. (2015.05.27 - 21:41:50) Lamda: so the lava will not stop flowing
  961. (2015.05.27 - 21:42:00) Lamda: would that not affect the boss fight
  962. (2015.05.27 - 21:42:18) Lamda: if the lava can melt through the entire rest of the stage, what's to stop it from melting the boss doors?
  963. (2015.05.27 - 21:42:25) MegaBusterBloo: if you don't know what you're doing
  964. (2015.05.27 - 21:42:31) Lamda: this suggests a timed boss, and that's a huge NO
  965. (2015.05.27 - 21:42:33) MegaBusterBloo: then kindly slither off the internet
  966. (2015.05.27 - 21:42:41) MegaBusterBloo: and don't come back until you do
  967. (2015.05.27 - 21:42:46) Thanatos-Zero: Good point
  968. (2015.05.27 - 21:43:19) Lamda: this is where my issue with the stage split comes into play
  969. (2015.05.27 - 21:43:29) Lamda: in my opinion you can effectively do this one of two ways
  970. (2015.05.27 - 21:43:33) Gaia: ever thought about that section in ZX1?
  971. (2015.05.27 - 21:43:48) Thanatos-Zero: you mean Area K
  972. (2015.05.27 - 21:43:49) Gaia: where there was lava flowing that killed you on impact?
  973. (2015.05.27 - 21:43:58) Gaia: yes, and I do mean Area K
  974. (2015.05.27 - 21:44:17) Gaia: think about how they did it for a bit
  975. (2015.05.27 - 21:44:20) Lamda: have the battle be cut short because of the lava, and mega has to give chase, with the explanation for the teleport failure NOT be jamming, but the immense amount of chaos going on in the area not giving proper coordinates for a teleportation to occur properly
  976. (2015.05.27 - 21:44:23) Gaia: then look back to your idea
  977. (2015.05.27 - 21:44:26) Lamda: OR
  978. (2015.05.27 - 21:45:12) Thanatos-Zero: A good idea
  979. (2015.05.27 - 21:45:20) Lamda: turn the split stage into one longer one, and have it so that there is a specific point in the plant made JUST in the event of a lava overflow with materials able to stop it, and after you clear that spot you continue on a non-flooding portion of the stage which ends in the boss battle
  980. (2015.05.27 - 21:45:20) Thanatos-Zero: tell the other
  981. (2015.05.27 - 21:46:12) Gaia: the second option may bump the screen count up a bit, but would explain the mechanic
  982. (2015.05.27 - 21:46:19) MegaBusterBloo: about teleportation...
  983. (2015.05.27 - 21:46:20) MegaBusterBloo: http://www.deviantart.com/art/Mega-Man-X-How-do-Teleports-Work-535576668
  984. (2015.05.27 - 21:46:24) Gaia: just as better as option a
  985. (2015.05.27 - 21:46:28) MegaBusterBloo: gud theory
  986. (2015.05.27 - 21:46:42) Furosuto_Kibatodosu is grouchy
  987. (2015.05.27 - 21:46:44) Lamda: that theory is what i used to explain this
  988. (2015.05.27 - 21:46:48) Gaia: *good, god my grammar sucks
  989. (2015.05.27 - 21:46:53) Thanatos-Zero: Well I was going to design the level going to higher levels, so the lava overflow shouldn't be a worry
  990. (2015.05.27 - 21:47:02) MegaBusterBloo: okay
  991. (2015.05.27 - 21:47:17) Lamda: but the door thing would be a supercooled industrial shutter chilled and treated to such a temperature and stability that is made specifically to stop the flow of lava in the event of a critical meltdown
  992. (2015.05.27 - 21:47:30) Lamda: or something like that
  993. (2015.05.27 - 21:47:45) Thanatos-Zero: Yes, a super seal
  994. (2015.05.27 - 21:47:51) Lamda: i mean you would have to explicitly say this in-game
  995. (2015.05.27 - 21:47:51) The_Walrus: and then i broke bit dungeon
  996. (2015.05.27 - 21:47:52) The_Walrus: woohoo
  997. (2015.05.27 - 21:47:53) MegaBusterBloo wishes he didn't get Windows 8.1
  998. (2015.05.27 - 21:48:06) MegaBusterBloo: i want windows 7 now ;-;
  999. (2015.05.27 - 21:48:15) Lamda: classic megaman didn't have a comm system like later games so i don't quite know how you'd do that, unless in pre-mission briefing or something
1000. (2015.05.27 - 21:48:19) Gaia: despite the wording, sounds plausable
  1001. (2015.05.27 - 21:48:36) Thanatos-Zero: We have pre-mission to be exact
  1002. (2015.05.27 - 21:48:43) Lamda: ah, good
  1003. (2015.05.27 - 21:48:49) Thanatos-Zero: it is in Duplex
1004. (2015.05.27 - 21:48:53) Lamda: so then have mega prepared for the overflow
  1005. (2015.05.27 - 21:48:55) Lamda: i.e.
1006. (2015.05.27 - 21:49:06) Thanatos-Zero: And we do it for Pyro as well.
1007. (2015.05.27 - 21:49:44) Thanatos-Zero: I am going to copy paste the chat so please no replies in a minute okay?
1008. (2015.05.27 - 21:49:54) Gaia: if anything, this can also help the event where some of the mega man characters lose all their health
  1009. (2015.05.27 - 21:50:11) Valo: lam i have a question when you get a moment
1010. (2015.05.27 - 21:50:17) Gaia: instead of just flat-out dying, they are immediately beamed back home for repairs if taken too much damage
1011. (2015.05.27 - 21:50:55) Lamda: "mega man, your mission here is to shut down this generator and stop production. the generator has a backup measure in the event of a hostile shutdown to break the magma seals, flooding the area with molten lava. however, there is an emergency seal beyond the generator room that was made specifically to halt the lava flow if necessary. once you make it past that seal, you can fulfill your secondary objective and stop pyro man"
1012. (2015.05.27 - 21:50:57) MegaBusterBloo: go click the autoscroll button at the bottom right, @TZ
  1013. (2015.05.27 - 21:50:59) Thanatos-Zero: If that was so easy
  1014. (2015.05.27 - 21:51:12) MegaBusterBloo: ?
  1015. (2015.05.27 - 21:51:27) Lamda: moment granted
  1016. (2015.05.27 - 21:51:28) Lamda: what's broken
1017. (2015.05.27 - 21:52:16) Thanatos-Zero: sometimes when the chat becomes too big the auto scroll starts to malfunction
  1018. (2015.05.27 - 21:52:26) Valo: i was just
  1019. (2015.05.27 - 21:52:43) Thanatos-Zero: and now we have that malfunction
  1020. (2015.05.27 - 21:52:50) Thanatos-Zero: for me atleast
1021. (2015.05.27 - 21:53:42) Valo: valo looks odd on slopes, so i wanted to give him 2 more idles based on staanding on slopes, repositioning the legs. would this be as siimple as having him check if hes staanding on a slope tile and saying like... if on slope tile and image inde is norm idle, change sprite to slope idle?
  1022. (2015.05.27 - 21:53:46) Gaia: neo, broke something again?
  1023. (2015.05.27 - 21:53:55) Gaia: yep
1024. (2015.05.27 - 21:55:12) Gaia: if anything, kirby has sprites that appear in the event of a slope, so.. it wouldn't hurt.
  1025. (2015.05.27 - 21:55:32) Lamda: i assume you mean front-leg-raised for up-slopes and back-leg-bent for down-slopes
1026. (2015.05.27 - 21:55:42) Lamda: in which case yes you're on the right track
  1027. (2015.05.27 - 21:55:48) Valo: okay
1028. (2015.05.27 - 21:55:57) Lamda: the issue however is that since obviously you can't make separate slope objects
1029. (2015.05.27 - 21:56:14) Lamda: you have to do the check based on x and y positioning and xscale
  1030. (2015.05.27 - 21:56:21) Valo: ..............
  1031. (2015.05.27 - 21:56:30) Lamda: you asked
1032. (2015.05.27 - 21:56:37) Valo: what do you mean objects. there are 4 slope objects
1033. (2015.05.27 - 21:56:45) Valo: big left, right, small left right
  1034. (2015.05.27 - 21:56:53) Gaia drinks neo's tears
1035. (2015.05.27 - 21:56:56) Lamda: i mean you wouldn't be able to make flatout "going up" and "going down" ones
  1036. (2015.05.27 - 21:56:59) Lamda: since slopes don't work like that
  1037. (2015.05.27 - 21:57:02) Valo: oh
  1038. (2015.05.27 - 21:57:06) Valo: okay
1039. (2015.05.27 - 21:58:01) Lamda: so it'd instead be a "on a slope? yep. is the actual collision occurring within this space? yep. is the xscale this or that? yep. chance the sprite"
1040. (2015.05.27 - 21:58:26) Valo: and reset the xscale as needed?
1041. (2015.05.27 - 21:58:30) Lamda: "actual collision" meaning right now his "bottom" foot is basically hovering above the slope
  1042. (2015.05.27 - 21:58:35) Lamda: of course
  1043. (2015.05.27 - 21:58:50) Valo: okay
1044. (2015.05.27 - 21:59:26) Valo: is there an easy way to make levels without making thousands of instances for your 'tiles'
1045. (2015.05.27 - 21:59:51) Lamda: through more code than you have ever seen before, yes
  1046. (2015.05.27 - 21:59:59) Lamda: arraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaays
1047. (2015.05.27 - 22:00:21) Valo: do you use them or do you just use instancees
  1048. (2015.05.27 - 22:00:28) Valo: instances
1049. (2015.05.27 - 22:00:38) Lamda: instances will cause so much lag you don't even know
  1050. (2015.05.27 - 22:00:41) Lamda: stick with tiles
  1051. (2015.05.27 - 22:00:49) Valo: ..................
  1052. (2015.05.27 - 22:00:55) Valo: thats what im asking
  1053. (2015.05.27 - 22:01:01) Valo: the tiles are objects
  1054. (2015.05.27 - 22:01:05) Valo: 'instances'
1055. (2015.05.27 - 22:01:07) Lamda: they use up way less memory after their initial load (which is massive but unless you're using a shitton of memory with other stuff it's normally not noticeable all that much)
  1056. (2015.05.27 - 22:01:18) Valo: ok
  1057. (2015.05.27 - 22:01:24) Lamda: tiles are not objects
  1058. (2015.05.27 - 22:01:27) Lamda: tiles are tiles
  1059. (2015.05.27 - 22:01:35) Valo: i dont mean the graphical tiles
  1060. (2015.05.27 - 22:01:42) Valo: i mean the invisible collision objects
  1061. (2015.05.27 - 22:01:52) Lamda: oh those?
1062. (2015.05.27 - 22:02:01) Lamda: yeah make really long and really tall ones
  1063. (2015.05.27 - 22:02:09) Valo: okay
  1064. (2015.05.27 - 22:02:15) Lamda: saves instance-memory space on flat areas
1065. (2015.05.27 - 22:02:20) Lamda: keep the little ones though obviously
  1066. (2015.05.27 - 22:02:54) Thanatos-Zero: fuck... autoscroll fixing doesn't work as intended
  1067. (2015.05.27 - 22:03:04) Valo: should i make a range of like. 1,3,5,and 10 tiles long
1068. (2015.05.27 - 22:03:05) Lamda: there is also the method of making the game recognize tile layers as solid (i.e. instead of checking object collision, it checks for tile layer collision) but that's tedious as shit
  1069. (2015.05.27 - 22:03:07) Thanatos-Zero: please another minute
  1070. (2015.05.27 - 22:03:24) Lamda: i generally just use a 5x and 10x
  1071. (2015.05.27 - 22:03:34) Valo: okay
  1072. (2015.05.27 - 22:03:44) Lamda: 1x 5x and 10x covers pretty much every base
1073. (2015.05.27 - 22:03:58) Lamda: and to finally answer you eric, yes i saw it, and i'm stoked as shit
  1074. (2015.05.27 - 22:04:15) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: http://public.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pt96zM0zgr4gbtG17jfpvyvclgXxiqIGWQu-9VCttmIoRM3oaAxzOooUPHwG1vMyJ8L8YMyRc71hwgqsZ30RTrw/Sans%20titre.bmp oh my lord
  1075. (2015.05.27 - 22:04:39) Thanatos-Zero: Please 1 minute no posting
  1076. (2015.05.27 - 22:04:49) Thanatos-Zero: I am trying to copy paste everything
  1077. (2015.05.27 - 22:07:19) Blackmore_Darkwing: TZ, pastebin would be helpful here, I imagine
  1078. (2015.05.27 - 22:07:36) Thanatos-Zero: I did. :)

1081. (2015.05.27 - 22:10:12) Lamda: lol people keep upvoting this comment
  1082. (2015.05.27 - 22:10:23) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: what comment
  1083. (2015.05.27 - 22:10:28) Lamda: "Dracula9AntiChapelFeb 28, 2015
  1084. +Forgeta 18/11/2012, never Forgeta. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)"
  1085. (2015.05.27 - 22:10:36) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: lol
1086. (2015.05.27 - 22:10:39) Lamda: i wonder how many of them know the significance of that date
  1087. (2015.05.27 - 22:10:52) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: i don't
  1088. (2015.05.27 - 22:11:11) Thanatos-Zero: I do not
  1089. (2015.05.27 - 22:12:09) Furosuto_Kibatodosu: but then again i don't know many things
1090. (2015.05.27 - 22:12:32) Lamda: the day that made lenny famous
  1091. (2015.05.27 - 22:20:31) The_Walrus: wat
  1092. (2015.05.27 - 22:21:02) Gaia: memes, matt
  1093. (2015.05.27 - 22:22:46) The_Walrus: ah
  1094. (2015.05.27 - 22:23:43) Gaia: lenny's a meme of the emoticon variety
  1095. (2015.05.27 - 22:24:01) Lamda: heading out
  1096. (2015.05.27 - 22:24:43) The_Walrus: bai
