  1. MY LITTLE JOJO: STANDS ARE MAGIC
  2. CHAPTER 9: TRIXIE AND STARLIGHT DON'T KNOW WHAT HITS THEM
  3. OPEN THE GAME!
  4.
  5. >Trixie has never had a friend before
  6. >Sure, you've had droves upon droves of fans
  7. >Well, okay, maybe not THAT many fans...
  8. >But a genuine friend is a new experience for you
  9. >Not that you'd mess it up!
  10. >You may be the humble and kind Trixie now
  11. >But that doesn't mean you're NOT great and powerful still
  12. >You'll do fine!
  13. >Yeah...
  14. >...
  15. >This silence betwixt you and Starlight isn't awkward at ALL
  16. >"Trixie? You okay?"
  17. "Yes, Trixie's fine. She's just... slightly nervous."
  18. >"What's up?"
  19. "Am... Am I a good friend?"
  20. >This stops Starlight
  21. >"Well... I mean, you're kinda... y'know, a show off, which I guess comes with the territory of being a performer. You also talk in the third person which can sometimes get on my nerves..."
  22. >Your face lowers slightly
  23. >"But you're still a good friend! Nopony's perfect!"
  24. >Of course!
  25. >W-Who could possibly deny their love of the GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIXIE?
  26. >Y'know...
  27. >Besides anyone with a tomato, or anything small enough to not be lethal but still do damage
  28. >"What's wrong Trixie?"
  29. "I'm still not used to this whole... friendship thing."
  30. >"Oh, don't worry, you'll get it in no time. Besides, isn't this the point of why we're walking to your house? To hang out and become better friends?"
  31. "Yes, of course! Trixie was just..."
  32. >You pause, attempting to find an answer that didn't sound needy or limp
  33. "Do you think the other girls hate Trixie?"
  34. >"Well du-"
  35. >She stops as she notices the frown on your face
  36. >"-I'm sure that, in time, they'll appreciate your company, but-... Yeah, I got nothin'."
  37. "Trixie thanks you for the attempt nonetheless."
  38. >"No problem."
  39. >Starlight wraps her foreleg around your neck
  40. >"That's what friends are for, right?"
  41. >This puts a smile on your face
  42. >A few minutes pass as you both arrive at your trailer in a field a few minutes away from Ponyville, next to the Everfree
  43. >You open the door to the inside before turning around to your current companion
  44. "So, would you like to come in?"
  45. >She nods, and you move out of the way as she steps into your humble abode
  46. >It feels odd having another pony in here with you
  47. >Though it's actually quite large on the inside, considering it's meant to be a trailer for pre-show prep
  48. >You've just never had a pony in here with you
  49. >Except for an... escort, every once in a while, when you were particularly lonely
  50. >Not that you were lonely now, what with this beautiful mare-
  51. >Who was your friend
  52. >And nothing else
  53. >There wasn't much in here, to be quite honest
  54. >A bed, a fridge with a cold enchantment, a small desk and vanity, a tiny-as-tartarus restroom with a toilet and sink which were both linked to a water tank and a waste tank with an inodorosity enchantment, and your box of magical tools for shows
  55. >There was also your JoyBoy, currently sitting on your bed and housing your copy of Professor Neighton and the Curious Village
  56. >You haven't played that in a while, now that you think about it
  57. >Naturally it was easy, for somepony so intelligent
  58. >It's not like you've been stuck on a particular puzzle that ABSOLUTELY INFURIATES you
  59. >Not at all
  60. >You've just been busy
  61. >"This is pretty big for a trailer!"
  62. >You turn to Starlight, whose eyes are open in wonder
  63. "What can Trixie say? When you're on the road constantly, you have to make it a second home. Or in Trixie's case, first."
  64. >"I'd think it would get lonely here, traveling alone all the time."
  65. >No, please, rub it in Trixie's face
  66. >"NOT THAT I'M INSINUATING ANYTHING OR- actually, I never asked, but are you single?"
  67. >A blush crosses your face
  68. >And you feared YOU were bad at friendship
  69. >Though, this is moreso conversation than-
  70. >"I mean-... I-..."
  71. >An awkward silence begins to form in the room
  72. "How would you like to learn some more magic with Trixie? I never showed you more than that one trick, did I?"
  73. >"Ooh, that sounds like fun!"
  74. "Okay, just wait outside and I'll be right there."
  75. >She steps outside and you begin to go through the box, wondering what to show Starlight
  76. >Rings? Nah
  77. >Wand? Come now, you want to impress Starlight, not bore her
  78. >Disappearing box? Sure
  79. >Simple, but fun
  80. >You grab that and a few other items, bringing them with you outside
  81. >Starlight sits there, eager to learn
  82. >A noise earns your attention
  83. >What the Tartarus?
  84. >You turn your head towards the trailer and wonder what that noise was
  85. >It sounded like...
  86. >You turn away
  87. >It's probably nothing
  88. >You bring the box out, unfolding it
  89. >"Alright Starlight, today I'm going to teach you how to DISAPPEAR!"
  90. >You flip your cape-
  91. >That's not there, right
  92. >You didn't have your outfit
  93. >Oh well
  94. "Watch closely now. You wouldn't want to miss this!"
  95. >You open the box and enter it, but leave the door open
  96. "When I close this door, I want you to knock on it three times, okay?"
  97. >She nods and you close it
  98. >The secret to this is...
  99. >*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*
  100. >This is only one of TWO compartments in this box
  101. >You slide down the false barrier, sliding with grace into the next compartment
  102. >You're about to slide open the secret door when-
  103. >"AAAAUUUUUUUGH!"
  104. >WHAT THE SHIT?!
  105. >You go back into the main compartment, slide the door closed and open the main door
  106. >Starlight is currently lying on the ground, bleeding
  107. >Oh shit
  108. >You run towards her, brushing her mane out of her face
  109. "Starlight! What happened?!"
  110. >"I don't know! I was standing waiting for you to finish your magic trick when... something hit me in the flank!"
  111. "What do you mean 'something' hit you in the flank?! I think it's be easy to identify something that-"
  112. >You turn to her flank to identify what hit her-
  113. >And end up staring at the trees behind Starlight
  114. >"Uhhhh, Trixie, I can't believe I'm saying this, but my flank is down here."
  115. "I know that!"
  116. >You turn your head back down towards her flank and-
  117. >Damnit now you're staring at her face again!
  118. >You keep trying to look at her flank, but your attention keeps being deflected away, like whatever's there is a magnet with the same polarity as your face!
  119. >Ahh, it's probably not that important
  120. >No wait, yes it is!
  121. >But come on, Starlight's wound is more important
  122. >WHICH WAS CAUSED BY SOMETHING HITTING IT, WHICH I-
  123. "GFFUCK!"
  124. >Your head begins to hurt
  125. >What the Tartarus?!
  126. >Every time you try to focus on the thing on Starlight's flank, your attention turns away from it
  127. >Why? It's not like it's important-
  128. >-YES IT IS, CELESTIA DAMNIT
  129. "GRRR!"
  130. >Again with the pain!
  131. >"Trixie..."
  132. >You look to her face to find here eyes closing and her breathing becoming labored
  133. >OOOOHH SHIT!
  134. >You can't loser her!
  135. >Not now!
  136. >NOT NOW!
  137. "STAY WITH TRIXIE STARLIGHT! YOU'LL BE FINE, TRIXIE JUST NEEDS YOU TO KEEP TALKING!"
  138. >"Wha-... what hit me?"
  139. "DON'T THINK ABOUT IT!"
  140. >Alright Trixie
  141. >Your (only) friend is currently bleeding out thanks to being struck with-
  142. "GYAAH!"
  143. >You hold your head in your hooves as a jolt of pure unadulterated pain shoots through it
  144. >Fuck, Trixie can't think about it either!
  145. >Trixie will just have to pull it out without looking or thinking about it!
  146. >But Trixie needs to understand its location in space in order to pull it out!
  147. >HERE WE GOOOOOOOOO!
  148. >HAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUGH!
  149. >You grip whatever is embedded in Starlight's flank, causing a whine to come from your throat and tears to flow from your eyes from the sheer mental pain
  150. >After a bit of struggling, you finally get it out and throw it to the ground
  151. "Thank Celestia!"
  152. >You're just glad that's over with!
  153. >Now you can finally treat her-
  154. >"Trixie... Something's wrong."
  155. >Oh what now?
  156. >Starlight points her hoof behind you while her eyes are rolling up into her skull
  157. >You do a 180 to look behind you-
  158. >But you can't see whatever's there, as your head keeps turning like mad to avoid looking that way
  159.
  160. >Oh Wooden Bit
  161. >You sly minx
  162. >Not only do you get to take out some snooty rich types
  163. >But you got yourself a sweet ability
  164. >What did that hooded creep call it?
  165. >A Stand?
  166. >Whatever
  167. >You preferred the name 「IT'S A JOB」
  168. >This golden pony thing comes out, the kind that looks like it belongs on a trophy or a fancy cart
  169. >And whatever it touches can't be looked at by nopony
  170. >Anytime anypony (but you of course) tries to look at or so much as think about whatever it touched will be deflected
  171. >Whether it be turning their head just a little too far, leaving it alone as a stray thought enters their head, or physical pain, for those who don't get the message
  172. >No one will be noticing what it touches
  173. >By force if necessary
  174. >You take a few more knives from your pouch and grab them with It's A Job
  175. >To think, yesterday you were but a poor miser, begging for chump change
  176. >Now you're gonna be one of the rich ones!
  177. >Thanks creepy hood guy!
  178. >Everything is coming up Wooden Bit!
  179. >You fling the knives with your Stand at the two bimbos
  180. >"GET IN THE BOX!"
  181. >The blue one grabs her pink friend and teleports into the box that she brought out from her trailer, the knives missing by a hair
  182. >Dagnabit!
  183. >How could she-
  184. >Oh
  185. >No shit
  186. >She figured out your ability
  187. >So when she couldn't look in your direction she took notice
  188. >Looks like you'll have to take care of this yourself
  189. >Another knife enters your mouth as you walk towards the box, now covered in knives
  190. >You open the box to find-
  191. >The pink one alone?
  192. >"Watch closely now" she manages to get out between breaths
  193. >The hell is she-
  194. >*SMACK!*
  195.
  196. "You wouldn't want to miss this."
  197. >The brown earth pony with the white mane and bit cutie mark falls unconscious
  198. >Well, that's over with
  199. >Now then, what's been averting our attention this who-
  200. >KNIVES
  201. >Starlight was hit with a KNIFE!
  202. >And your magic disappearing box in now filled with knives in its side!
  203. >Oh dear
  204. >Oh that's not good
  205. >You throw her over your shoulder onto your back and tie up the earth pony with some rope, bringing them both into your trailer
  206. >This mare had some explaining to do
  207.
