  1. *-------------------------------------------------------
  2. * End of World 7 cutscenes, Draft 1
  3. * Writer: rockythechao (incorporating bits and pieces from skype chats with Hoeloe and WasabiJellyfish)
  4. *
  5. *-------------------------------------------------------
  6.
  7. --------------------- Level Intro ---------------------
  8.
  9. [The crew walks into the factory and looks around; they see jars filled with Super Leeks in both the background (a la the end of Ep. 1) and the foreground]
  10.
  11. Kood:
  12. This feels strangely familiar...
  13.
  14. Broadsword:
  15. Everyone help me extract these leeks! Time is of the essence!
  16.
  17. [Broadsword runs up to a jar and smashes it, grabbing the leek inside and holding it up.
  18. He waits for the super leek jingle to finish playing, then runs up to the next and is about to break it when:]
  19.
  20. Iris:
  21. As effective as that plan seems, there has to be a faster way to go about this.
  22. Like, maybe there's a control room further in from which we can shut the entire place down. Or blow it up or whatever.
  23.
  24. Broadsword:
  25. Capital idea, my dear!
  26. Come, everyone... We have buckles to swash!
  27.
  28. Iris:
  29. ...What, like pirates?
  30.
  31. Broadsword:
  32. Oh, my dear, uneducated Green Demo...
  33. A swashbuckler is merely a heroic, chivalrous, and dashing young swordsman... which I think we can all agree describes me to a T!
  34.
  35. Iris:
  36. _Young?_
  37.
  38. Broadsword:
  39. Respect your elders, Green Demo!
  40.
  41. Iris:
  42. It's Iris!
  43.
  44. Demo:
  45. ...Uh, guys? Whatever happened to "time is of the essence"?
  46.
  47. Broadsword:
  48. *Ahem* Right, right! We'll sort out our vocabulary later. Vámonos, everyone!
  49.
  50. [They all run out of the room, with Broadsword stopping at the exit, then running back to smash another jar and take the leek inside.
  51. The jingle plays again but is cut off when Demo comes back to look at Broadsword and he hastily stuffs the leek in his pocket, embarrassed.
  52. The two rush to catch up to the others and the screen fades out and the level begins.]
  53.
  54.
  55. --------------------------- Pre-boss cutscene ----------------------------
  56.
  57. [Broadsword rushes into the boss room, shouting:]
  58.
  59. Broadsword's voice:
  60. _TALLY HO!_
  61.
  62. [The others enter behind Broadsword as he surveys the area. Maybe the room has some impressive background or something.]
  63.
  64. Broadsword:
  65. I never could have imagined this facility would be so... expansive...
  66.
  67. Voice:
  68. You always were so easily impressed with my toys, Augustus.
  69.
  70. [Rewind teleports in.]
  71.
  72. Rewind:
  73. If you'd like to join us again, I'd consider letting you play with the controls.
  74. I only offer as a formality, of course. I've already seen every possible response you'll make.
  75.
  76. Broadsword:
  77. The plan ends here and now, <whatever Broadsword calls Rewind>!
  78.
  79. Rewind:
  80. The R.E.B.O.O.T. _will_ be fully powered. It is predetermined.
  81. That dramatic intuition of yours should have told you as much, brother.
  82.
  83. Broadsword:
  84. Dramatic intuition THIS, you scoundrel!
  85.
  86. [Broadsword leaps into the air to launch an attack at Rewind to attack; as he's doing so:]
  87.
  88. Rewind:
  89. It seems someone needs a time out...
  90.
  91. [Broadsword is frozen in time, then rewound to walk backwards out of the room. The door is then shut in front of him and he stops being rewound.]
  92.
  93. Broadsword:
  94. TALLY H-*CLANK*
  95.
  96. [He runs headfirst into the door and is knocked unconscious]
  97.
  98. Rewind:
  99. Now then, Demo and Iris... the most pragmatic approach would be to just lock you out as I did with him.
  100. But I doubt I would be satisfied with that at this point... you two are an insult, a mockery to everything I stand for.
  101. You don't conform to fate. You oppose the restoration of cyclops kind. But worst of all, you dare to hold yourselves at the same level as us.
  102. I aim to create a reality where the ABCDs of old will flourish throughout time. The _true_ ABCDs, not some knockoffs cobbled together from mundane household objects.
  103.
  104. Iris:
  105. _Excuse me?_
  106.
  107. [Rewind turns to the door.]
  108.
  109. Rewind:
  110. Augustus... I tolerated their existence because of you.
  111. I even called them our "nieces" for your sake.
  112. But if you would forsake the superior race for the safety of these cheap, manufactured imitations...
  113.
  114. [Rewind turns back to the crew.]
  115.
  116. Rewind:
  117. I will take immense pleasure in personally wiping every last trace of them from history.
  118.
  119. [The music starts and the screen fades out and back in, beginning the battle.]
  120.
  121.
  122. --------------------------- Post-boss cutscene ----------------------------
  123.
  124. Rewind:
  125. It seems I underestimated you... You may be fakes, but you have the strength of real ABCDs. It will take eons for me to recover from that battle.
  126. Regardless, your efforts were utterly futile.
  127.
  128. Automated announcement:
  129. TEMPORAL BATTERY HAS REACHED MAXIMUM CAPACITY. TRANSPORTING TO OLYMPIAN EPOCH.
  130.
  131. Rewind:
  132. I may not be around to oversee it, but the universe I yearn for _will_ come to be.
  133.
  134. [Rewind teleports out and the door opens. Broadsword rushes into the room.]
  135.
  136. Broadsword:
  137. I heard everything. Quickly, we may still be able to-
  138.
  139. [One fancy flash of white light and appropriate sound effect later:]
  140.
  141. Automated announcement:
  142. TEMPORAL BATTERY DISPATCED.
  143.
  144. [short pause for comedic timing]
  145.
  146. Broadsword:
  147. ...Bugger all.
  148. Well, time for plan B!
  149.
  150. [Broadsword pulls out one of the super leeks from the level intro and holds it up; the victory jingle plays again, much to Iris' visible lack of amusement.]
  151.
  152. Broadsword:
  153. Next stop: The Olympian Epoch!
  154.
  155. [The screen fades out and the level ends.]
