  11. Maistir Ó Seachnasaigh, A Chara,
  12. I would sincerely appreciate the opportunity to repeat 6th Year. This isn’t a request I make lightly. I’ve decided upon this course of action after a fair amount of consideration and a serious review of the year preceding my Leaving Cert last June. I believe I will do significantly better than I did before; recognising that I had a lot of room for improvement in the areas of time management, ability to focus and general study habits. Since then I believe that I have grown and bettered myself, making positive changes in those areas.
  13. I began tackling the root causes of such problems as the Leaving Certificate exam approached, but it was too little too late. A “sound mind in a sound body” is a phrase often thrown around, but I discovered the full meaning of it over the past year or so. I recognise now that my lack of initiative to complete homework and study led to poor results. I felt totally embarrassed and ashamed after I didn’t complete my two examination projects, GDC and German, and both teachers spent their own spare time assisting me. In the months leading up to my Leaving Cert I was diagnosed with depression. I was unable to deal with all of this pressure appropriately given the circumstances.
  14. The road to self improvement arguably never ends, but I think I’ve made great progress this summer in altering my mindset and motivating myself for whatever challenges I have to face from here on out. Anecdotal story, two months ago I completely cleared and cleaned my bedroom, including the big wooden desk facing the window. I hadn’t seen the surface of that desk in over a year and giving order and organisation to my personal space was strangely cathartic. Even something as seemingly small as tidying your belongings can indicate a wider change in mindset. I have adjusted and am capable. Now, I wholeheartedly believe that I am in a position to accomplish a lot more than I did last June and would be immensely grateful if I was given this opportunity.
  15. Mise le meas,
