  1. Debates: Round 1. "Should Vilden Be Unbanned?" Stance: "Vilden should remain banned." Team Purple: xJuicy/Rutab.
  2.
  3. We, xJuicy and Rutab, believe that Vilden should remain banned because of his incredibly hostile personality. The evidence that this statement be true include, but aren't limited to: suspension bypassing, blatant bigotry toward minority groups (specifically homosexuals), and the fact that he once catfished the entire community by making everyone believe that he was a girl.
  4.
  5. Reason 1 - Suspension Bypassing: As seen in (https://epicmafia.com/report/197172), Vilden has very recently bypassed his major ban suspension when he created an account called "LynchTheGays" so that he could post on the forums. During this bypass, Vilden took the opportunity to publicly argue with: Dyl, whom he has a bad history with; Jeff, whom he has harassed on multiple occasions, and; krystalk, his ex-girlfriend whom he has dragged on the forums for associating with many people that he dislikes. You would assume that if a banned user was going to bypass their suspensions, they would do it because they want to play mafia and participate in the actual major entertainment on the website. Vilden, however, decided that he was going to continue to harass different users in the community, which only helps to prove why he was banned in the first place. Bypassing suspensions is a very easy violation to avoid if the rules are actually followed, and Vilden has proved that he needs to remain banned because of it.

  7. Reason 2 - Bigotry: The fact that Vilden is a bigot, whether joking or serious, almost goes without saying. There are various examples throughout the years in which this is proven. For example, as mentioned in the first point, Vilden created an account he named "LynchTheGays." Not so very long ago, Vilden was reported (https://epicmafia.com/report/194106) for using the f-slur multiple times, even when people asked him to stop. It's one thing to use slurs in general, but when someone expresses their discomfort for the word, any normal, respectful user would stop right then and there. Instead, Vilden decided it was in his best interest to continue the vicious attack toward uncomfortable users. The reason that this is important is because, again, reiterating the final points of the first reason, Vilden's true character is being shown. There is no reason to unban someone who cannot show some basic, necessary respect and kindness toward other users.

  9. Reason 3 - Catfishing: This may seem like a joke to some, but we believe it firmly reinforces the widely believed opinion that Vilden is a toxic user and player. For a long time on this website Vilden pretended to be female in order to bait and lie to other players. Whether harmless or not, this is a testament to his dishonest, underhand, and generally negative impact upon the community. In other instances catfishing can result in serious consequences emotionally, financially, and physically. Whilst this ruse did not fulfill these potentials, it certainly could have if allowed to continue.

  11. Rebuttal: Our opponents may say that Vilden should be unbanned because many other banned users have had multiple chances and received a leash, he is an excellent mafia player that contributes to the major competition, and other users who were previously banned have committed many worse violations than he has. However, we say that Vilden's case is not the same as any other banned user's case. In pretty much every example of the leash being used, banned users have, at the very least, tried to pretend that they were changing their ways. Vilden has received leashes in the past, and they have not worked in his favor. This is because he has a high recidivism rate, shortly after being able to interact with EpicMafia again. Sure, Vilden is and was a good mafia player in the competition, but the rules do not allow popular or skilled people to do whatever they would like just because they are able to enhance the gaming experience. We would even argue that his behavior disallows a fun game-environment regardless of how skilled Vilden is. Even though other leashed or banned users have committed worse violations than he has, Vilden, again, continues to prove that he is not capable of following simple rules. The issue is not that people have done worse than Vilden and gotten off with a leash, the issue is that Vilden will always break the rules no matter how many chances you give him.
  12.
  13. In closing, we believe there is no doubt we should be maintaining Vilden's ban. Not only does he show a lack of remorse or indication of changing his actions, but he continues to commit the same offences repeatedly. This kind of behaviour cannot be tolerated to such an extent and is only a detriment to the community. EpicMafia is a better place without him.
