dodgeball

When I heard about Dodgeball back then, I thought it was great, but being in NOLA, I couldn't use it.

So I built a little Visual Basic app that ran all the time on my computer and periodically checked my e-mail. I'd use my phone to text that email address a string, like Dodgeball, "@Place Name!shout", and then the Visual Basic app would post to a PHP script I wrote that ran on my website (something like /wheresgeoff)  and it'd tell my friends where I was. My own personal Dodgeball.

And then I went on to get to build the foursquare app for webOS and use foursquare to propose to my wife, so, thanks for all the inspiration!
