[22:35]<SpiritOfFate>	Sotho follows the group of ponies to their uncertain destination, each step on the dirt road making the uncertainty grow. His eye meets in a glance a female zebra and a foal, all too familiar, trotting past him to the other side.
[22:37]?	Sotho feels odd, but he keeps his mouth shut, glancing over discreetly towards the two zebra, trotting ahead, confused
[22:38]<SpiritOfFate>	The zebra seem to be trotting to the slavehouse. Sotho know them, very well.
[22:40]?	Sotho starts to stop, he doesn't want to be collared again, he doesn't want to be a slave

[22:44]<SpiritOfFate>	The female zebra gives Sotho a short glance before disappearing into the slavehouse.
[22:46]?	Sotho looks to the slavehouse, he starts to tear up and he doesn't know why
[22:53]?	SpiritOfFate sees a light inside the slavehouse as they go in.

[22:54]?	Sotho starts to trot back towards it, opening his mouth to say. "Wait!"
[22:56]<SpiritOfFate>	Sotho realizes the landfill is strangely silent and empty of ponies. The light still glows in the slavehouse
[22:57]?	Sotho looks around, surprised. He starts to go into the door
[23:01]<SpiritOfFate>	Sotho finds himself in his old house, back on the village he came from. What does he see?
[23:02]?	Sotho takes a look around, taking in the familar sights
[23:17]<Sotho>	In his old hut, there were few commodities, a few hunting trophies from his conquests, a shriveled tentacle of the beast that earned him his glyph, the head of a manticore, stuffed by a specialist, the eye of a cyclop, not something he did by himself, but something he earned with the rest of the team. He had a small chair for meditating as well as a shelf for scrolls and ingridents for potion making.
[23:17]<Sotho>	His bed was in a small side hut, his child's crib in it with them
[23:19]<SpiritOfFate>	The zebra lies on the bed, resting quietly, but awake, and the zebra foal sleeps on the crib
[23:21]?	Sotho smiles over to the zebra, finally recognizing her as his wife, his foal asleep. "Hello, wife." He says
[23:22]<SpiritOfFate>	His wife looks at him, blinking confused. "Who are you?"
[23:24]?	Sotho tilts his head, now confused. "I'm Sotho.
[23:31]<SpiritOfFate>	"You can't be Sotho, Sotho is dead." She says it with little effort, as an old truth.
[23:31]<Sotho>	"But yet here I am." He says. "Why would you think I am dead?"
[23:36]<SpiritOfFate>	She tilts her head, trying to recognize him. "...you are not the one I married to. Leave us alone."
[23:38]<Sotho>	"B-but, I swear on my life that I am Sotho." He says., hurt that his own wife wouldn't recognize him. "Why would you think I'm dead?"
[23:45]<SpiritOfFate>	She furrows her brows, looking offended. "My husband was a proud warrior, not a decrepit mendicant. He left to seek honor, but for too long no word is heard from him. He was taken by the spirits."
[23:49]<Sotho>	"I am no Mendicant! I was captured and reduced to slavery. What must I say to prove I am your husband? Do you not remember how I asked to marry you after a feast in the honor of my hunting party? After we barely escaped death from an Alicorn? One of us, Heroth was killed. We then mourned him for the next 3 days."
[23:54]<SpiritOfFate>	She shakes her head. "The whole village knows this story. Leave now, or I will call the guards."
[23:56]<Sotho>	"Why? Why won't you believe me? I only asked to marry you because of the promise we made as children. You promised you would marry me if I became a strong warrior who could protect you." He says. "You're the only one who knows that. I never told another soul."
[23:57]<Sotho>	"I thought I was a fool, believe you would still remember that promise, but you did and you agreed."

[00:00]<SpiritOfFate>	"Promise? I don't remember such thing. That is a lie." She stares as you, as if you were just a bothersome pest.
[00:04]?	Sotho looks closely at whom he thought was his wife.
[00:05]<SpiritOfFate>	Sotho sees a dark tendril where her tongue should be. The room had become dimmer with wavering shadows, which only now he sees.
[00:06]<Sotho>	"You are not my wife. And I know naught what you are, but it isn't Zebra, nor pony."
[00:12]<SpiritOfFate>	"It does not matter either way." The tendrils grow out of her mouth, draining Sotho's wife to a shrivelled husk as they make a dark alicorn form. "You will never see her again."
[00:13]<Sotho>	"But I will." He says. "I have not lost hope."
[00:18]<SpiritOfFate>	The dark being lets out a gutural laugh. The scene shifts, the walls of the hut covering in dark mold and cracking as it times was going past, pincered deformed creatures appearing from the shadows. "Hope has no meaning"
[00:19]<Sotho>	"Hope has every meaning. It's what keeps me and my friends alice." He says
[00:19]<Sotho>	alive*
[00:22]<SpiritOfFate>	"What for?" It waves a hoof to the crib, stained in blackened blood, small withered limbs and bones spread over it. "For this?"
[00:25]?	Sotho nods. "For my family. For my own honor." He says. "For my freedom."
[00:29]<SpiritOfFate>	"What makes you think you can still hope for any of it?"
[00:29]<Sotho>	"Because I am alive."
[00:33]<SpiritOfFate>	"For now." It slithers closer. "But what is of them without you? You may not have a place to go back to already."
[00:34]<Sotho>	"Good enough for me." He smiles. "I won't know until I found out."

[00:43]<SpiritOfFate>	"Such hubris." One of his tendrils digs into your chest, cold and terrible. "It is already too late for you."
[00:44]<Sotho>	"It will never be too late." He shivers from the tentacle.
[00:47]<SpiritOfFate>	The tendril seems to reach into your very core.
[00:49]?	Sotho shivers and cringes. "Foul beast, let go of me."
[00:52]<SpiritOfFate>	"Is denial all you have?" You feel as if something deep inside you was being pulled apart.
[00:53]?	Sotho cringes. "I know in my heart that I will see my village again." He scowls
[00:55]<SpiritOfFate>	The void made being seems to shiver in malice. "Would you gamble all there still is on it?"
[00:56]<Sotho>	"I would." He says
[00:58]<SpiritOfFate>	The darkness wavers and the being cackles. The grasp loosens but you see the tendrils extending from your own stripes and shooting themselves far, through the walls and ceiling
[01:01]?	Sotho can't help but shake, he is afraid.
[01:05]<SpiritOfFate>	You feel as if your heart was trapped in a dark pendulum, the dread ticking with each heartbeat, the light within you fighting to stay lit. You don't know hom much time you have.

[01:07]<SpiritOfFate>	"The contract is made." The dark creature slithers away, leaving you in the ruined shack.
[01:10]?	Sotho falls on the ground, confused about what he just agreed to
[01:25]<SpiritOfFate>	Darkness covers your eyes again. When you open them, you are inside a shack, over a hammock. Exhausted and covered in cold sweat. It's dark, only the spotlights outside let you see a pile of junk through the window
[01:29]?	Sotho sighs relieved as he looks outide, laying back down he closes his eyes
