Wren non vede l'ora di andare al college, in modo da allontanarsi per un po' dalla sua strampalata famiglia, ma per il momento vive ancora con i suoi e deve sopportarli. Sua madre Joy ad esempio, la obbliga a fare da babysitter al suo fratellino Albert la notte di Halloween, in modo che lei possa uscire a spassarsela col suo nuovo e giovanissimo fidanzato. Durante il tradizionale trick-or-treat però, Wren si distrae un attimo, e Albert fa perdere le sue tracce. Non sarà facile ritrovarlo tra tanti ragazzini mascherati, ma la ragazza potrà contare sull'aiuto della sua migliore amica April, così come su quello di Peng e di Roosevelt, un dolce nerd che è cotto di lei. I quattro ragazzi uniranno le loro forze per ritrovare Albert prima che sua mamma se ne accorga, e la notte di Halloween incontreranno personaggi davvero assurdi.
