Anna: Naw, I think I'm going to quit the horse business
Me: That's sad but I understand.
A: -shrugs- I also had to move servers.
K: Aw, man, that's probably rough. I'm sorry to hear about all that.
A: It's what I get for being inactive.
K: Nah, they should be more lenient about it. Shit happens, you know?
A: It just sucks because I lost it all to someone who quit
K: That does suck. I'm sorry Anna.
A: I think your house is gone too
K: I wouldn't be surprised. I've logged on once but that was about a month after you left and it's been nearly two now.
A: Sorry. I know you loved the house I built for you.
K: I did. I loved Minecraft but it's time for me to stop caring about it.
A: Well, you can still play without me.
K: I can but it's just bad and I don't want to deal with that at the point I'm in right now. I'm doing really well.
A: Oh. Okay.
K: You told me to move on, okay? You told me to leave so I did.
A: I know. But I'm still moving on myself. I still wear your Dave and Buster's hoodie everyday, when I'm home I sleep in your Minecraft quilt, I still use the phone you gave me, the computer you gave me. I compare you to my girlfriend all the time and it just never really hit me how much I still cling to what we have slightly hoping you would fight for me to come back.
A: Cause honestly I probably would have.
K: I wished you came back weeks ago Anna. I have a new boyfriend. You wouldn't have come back. You'd have done the same thing you always did - come back and leave and break my heart again, and repeat. I'm tired of it. So tired of it. You didn't respect me, you didn't appreciate every single goddamn little thing I did for you. The things I bought, the places I went, the times I worked long hours to try to afford a visit. The nights I slept in the streets in New York City waiting for a bus. You didn't get it. Now maybe you will, or have. I've been very close with my new guy for a long time and he loves me terribly and knows what I deserve and it's better than what you thought I deserved. I wanted you so badly, for weeks. Months. You didn't come back. You wouldn't have come back.
A: I know.
K: You know you would have screwed me over again. Don't pretend like you wouldn't have, you know? You will never love me like I deserve to be.
A: Actually I would have. This break I learned a lot about myself, the good and the bad. If you don't believe me that's on you. You haven't made the attempt to learn the new me.
K: Because I'm over it. You have a new girlfriend to learn all about you. You all can learn about each other while I learn about my own boyfriend. I don't want this to be like this, me playing "the one that got away." Because I'm not. Not anymore.
