  1. The Undying was a damn good target. Maybe my favorite character in the entire series because of great writing, great acting and the concept of him being an assassin known for faking his death over and over. Those three things made him a more interesting villain than any other in the series.
  2.
  3. The mission design was great too, especially considering it was the first elusive target in the game so it acted somewhat as a tutorial. New characters that played big roles, multiple obvious kill opportunities that still required planning to use, a medium length loop that offered plenty of options without involving too much waiting, the target taunting the player ("You could just throw a knife at me")... It's clear a lot more work went into it than into most elusive targets, and it paid off. I don't think most ETs would hold up if they were freely replayable, but with some adjustments The Undying probably could have.

  5. But the best thing about him being an ET was that there was potential for him to return, after having survived 47's previous hit by faking his death. The Undying's storyline could've been one with a longer arc, which is something I think Hitman is usually better off without. The Undying could've been the exception to that, all the pieces were there. Granted, it would've been silly to kill him ten times over, but there was definitely room for a few of hits.

  7. Now he has returned. And it's the same mission as before. No continuation of the story, no new mission design, just a slightly updated character model. All the potential, out the window. What a giant disappointment.
