  1. "Is that how you humans thank others for saving you?" Ailith asked the boy, flying up to his cage.
  2. "Ya have been nuthin' but trouble to- Woah!" The boy was interrupted as Ailith broke the chain holding the cage up.
  3. Ailith glided down with the cage in her grasp, dropping it few feet off the ground. Sadly this only caused the boy to yelp as the cage landed with a loud clang.
  4. "Oi, watch it! I ain't build as durable as ya."
  5. "Just stay back, I'll melt the bars." Ailith said, completely ignoring the boys complaints.
  6. With a lot of acid and bit of care, one fourth of the cage soon came off, letting the boy walk out.
  7. "Boss is in the dungeons. That's what ya wanted to know, right?" The boy said while checking that he got no acid on him.
  8. "Saves me the trouble of asking you, kid. Just stay out of my way and you wont get hurt."
  9. "'Hurt' is an understatement as far as ya go." The boy noted, after which he turned to look the weakly breathing giantess. "Ya think she's going to be okay?"
  10. "It doesn't matter. Lets just-" Ailith was interrupted by a loud creak of the throne room entrance, caused by the guards coming in.
  11.
  12. "Is everything all right, our Queen? We noticed that your bedroom window was - Oh." The captain stopped as he saw the giantess bleeding on the ground.
  13. His eyes slowly moved onto Ailith and the boy.
  14. "Raise your spears men! Queen wants the boy alive, but you may kill the dragonling!"
  15. "I don't have time for you." Ailith said, taking the fourth of a cage she just melted off, and throwing it at the guards. Before they had a chance to return to formation, she had already grabbed the boy and flown over them.
  16. "The dungeons are left from the entrance." The boy explained, resigned to his fate.
  17. "Whose left?"
  18. "Our left, of course. Ya think I'm an idiot?"
  19. "You would be surprised to know how often that has been a problem."
  20.
  21. The entrance was unmissable. It was bigger than any other door in the castle, and even had the same decorations as it had outside. Ailith landed just before it, her claws causing a loud screech as they dragged across the castle floor. Without even bothering to look back, she sprinted to the right, with the boy still firmly in her grasp. She knew she was close now. The smell of her prize was still in the air around here. Ailith would not need instructions anymore, she could have found her way with her eyes closed at this point. The trail led her to a black and sturdy looking iron door; a real eyesore in a castle this polished and pretty. Ailith did not even care what else was behind it; her prize was here.
  22.
  23. The dungeons held only one guard, who snapped awake as he heard the door being opened.
  24. "Mom?" he asked, still groggy from his snooze.
  25. "Probably not." Ailith stated before knocking him out with a hefty punch to the chin.
  26. Meanwhile the boy had already walked past Ailith and grabbed a single large key from the wall.
  27. "A master key? That's real convenient." he noted before opening one of the cell doors."Time to wake up boss! Yer girlfriend is busting us outta here."
  28. The boy continued towards the back of the narrow hallway, allowing Ailith to get to the cell. Inside it was her prize. A withered looking man, with short and messy brown hair. He was dressed in ragged leather gear, with a chainmail tabard for an added protection.
  29. "Silas? Wait, girlfriend?" The man asked in a raspy voice. He opened his eyes and then continued to open them in shock until they were the size of gold coins as he saw Ailith, giving her a chance to see his gray irises even in the dark of the cell."Okay-so-I-can-explain! I-didn't-mean-to-knock-you-up-okay?! I-just-got-real-drunk-and-the-next-thing-I-remember-was-waking-up-next-to-you! I-am-sorry-for-running! Please-spare-me!"
  30. Ailith ignored the man's pleas and simply pounced on him, wrapping her arms around his body.
  31. "I finally found you, My Prize!" She cooed, rubbing her cheek on the mans chest.
  32. The man was very confused. He had clearly expected mangling instead of cuddling.
  33. "You thought I was going to kill you, My Prize?" Ailith asked, confused by the man's thought process.
  34. "What." The man finally managed to say.
  35. "How about we two get out of this rat's nest and go somewhere where we can be a bit more private, My Prize?"
  36. "WHAT?!"
  37. "Look, I hate to interrupt yer tender moment, but we probably should get out of this place before the whole palace guard has us cornered in here." The boy had returned and was now geared up, with crossbow on his back and a sword in his hands. He also had put on a tabard of his own, this one made of linen and decorated with a fiery crescent.
  38. "Right." Ailith returned back to reality and rose up.
  39. "Wait, we have not talked this trough yet. What prize?" The man remained confused.
  40. "All in time My Prize. For now we just have to get elsewhere." Ailith cooed and gave a smooch on his cheek.
  41. "Fine." The man put himself back together and grabbed a sword form the guard Ailith had knocked out just minutes ago.
  42.
  43. As they headed for the front door, Ailith did not feel right. Despite them chasing her just minutes ago, there was none to be seen now.
  44. "I think they have an ambush set up outside." She said to her two companions."They have the castle surrounded, no doubt. It is a clear night too, so I cannot fly by unnoticed."
  45. "What do you suggest we do then?" The man asked. He seemed to have gotten his act together again.
  46. "We should turn back and head for the sewers. With a bit of luck, they are city-wide and we can get out of this place before they even realize their mistake."
  47. "Ya got any other options?" The boy asked, just to make sure.
  48. "Charging headfirst into their ranks." Ailith said, with a hint of sarcasm.
