- My ACTUAL Halloween Hack strats lmao
- Obviously since I've hit sub 60 my strategies for the run have to become a lot riskier in order to save as much time as possible, with the right luck. A few things start to be required:
- 1. An early runaway from NO NO NO (preceded by 2 or fewer Remember Me? fights, and not 9)
- - This is not too uncommonly achievable, because of how the run away formula will work in this situation.
- - Your speed (which will be somewhere between 2 and 4), minus NO NO NO's speed (all 3 of them have a speed of 1, so 1), plus 10 times your turn number will leave you with a 12-14% chance to run on turn 1. It's a low chance, sure, but based on NO NO NO's scripted event order, you have two or three turns where they won't attack you for much damage, so you're asking for a 22-24% chance, then a 32-34% chance, and so on, as long as you survive. (If you're at least level 4, sleepstun will help delay your death even further!) This will result in a lot of rip runs, unless you save and keep going, which will slowly stop being worth it as your time gets lower and lower.
- 2. One attempt at Dearkhart.
- - Before this, I like to sell Paula's teddy bear so I can buy 3 Psycho Pspirits. This eliminates money trouble at this point in the run, gets rid of the essentially more-harm-than-good teddy bear, and makes it so that you don't have to come back to the store again after you get Jeff.
- - There are 3 rooms with potential encounters. The first one, you'd best take a ghostkin, or a desire dog if that's what's there. Avoid Anxiety Attacks at all costs, you're not strong enough yet. Respawn enemies in this room until something simple appears and you can use i-frames to get through the rest of the room, or the room empties (which is much more uncommon).
- - The second room can be despawned pretty easily as well, or you can use the table to juke whatever's there, if they're positioned accordingly.
- - The third room is tougher. I like to enter the top/left door for more reaction time to prepare for an encounter, OR keep respawning for a better room. Ghostkin or Desire Dog should be optimal.
- - Dearkhart strats are the same as normal. Varik's level no longer matters, because Paula carries the fight, majorly. The only thing that's basically a requirement is that Varik stays alive. Paula doesn't have to as long as you have a Psycho Pspirit up.
- 3. One attempt at Phaze Destrortur.
- - Thankfully, as Blaze showed me, I only got UNLUCKY trying to put Phaze to sleep in routing. I thought it wasn't a possibility since, yknow, EarthBound hates me and I can never land a 75% roll. Varik has 3 shots to put him to sleep, but as long as he's incapacitated for turn 2 (3 is a bonus), it's a pretty guaranteed win from there.
- 4. Some pretty decent luck navigating your way through the rest of the game.
- - Knowing what to timestop, sleepstun, and just straight up avoid at all costs is important, but sometimes you'll find that the game will still want to crush you anyway.
- 5. Zero krakens.
- 6. One attempt at Andonuts, or better yet: An early Diamondize on Andonuts.
- - Blaze's current world record as of 10/27/16 had this. His endgame went pretty poorly but he made it out, went for the yolo mirror, and it actually worked. So imagine that combined with all the previously listed.
