Issue: Below is an ffmpeg command that is working in ffmpeg 0.6.5 (Taken from Centos 6.3 repository) but I need functionality in the latest ffmpeg so I compiled the nightly build (looked successful) and then ran the same command but just got a silent wav file.

Hardware Soundcard: RME Hammerfall HDSP 9632

Command: ffmpeg -f alsa -i default ~/ffmpeg.wav

I can record using 'arecord' but have also tried to use a compiled 'ecasound' which has the same problem as my compiled version of ffmpeg - this makes me feel that I'm not compiling correctly? Any ideas.
