  1. How to make custom badges for the 3DS
  2.
  3. What you will need:
  4. 1)a way to install .cia
  5. 2)GYTB https://github.com/MrCheeze/GYTB
  6. 3)an image editing program like Photoshop
  7. 4)basic arithmetic
  8.
  9. Getting Started
  10.
  11. First things first, find the images or image you with to turn into a custom badge, to make you life easier, try to find one with a transparent background and/or a png.
  12.
  13. Once you've found your image or images, you need to square the image(s), meaning that it has to be equal on all sides, for this you will need math. In photoshop the way to do this is to go to Image>Canvas Size there you will see the height and width of your image. Change those numbers to be the same, then press OK. Once your done editing your image go to File>Save for Web and choose PNG 24. Then change the image size (bottom right) to 64x64 or if you want to badge larger simply double the number to 128x128.
  14.
  15. Press save and you're done for now, you can also make the images 64x128 if you want the badge to be split in half instead of into 4.
  16.
  17. If you want to make your custom badges into launchers, for example if you want one to launch street pass, you need to add the application # to the name of the image. For example image.00021800.png, those numbers are the title id of the street pass application for the US, all numbers can be found here https://3dbrew.org/wiki/Title_list make sure you use the correct numbers for the correct region.
  18.
  19. Once you've finished place them into a folder called badges on the root of the SD card and install/launch GYTB. GYTB will automatically create the badges for you, simply press any button to exit when it finishes and enjoy your new custom badges.
