  1. The following takes place between the end of season two, and the beginning of season three.

  3. DAY ONE: FIRST ENCOUNTER
  4.
  5. I awaken with the cool, moist sensation of rain as it gently sprinkles upon my face. As I look around, I find myself stranded on a grassy plain in the middle of who-knows-where. For a moment, I think that this may just be one huge prank; that maybe my friend Trip Codewin, or someone who simply doesn't like me wanted to have fun at my expense, but with the lack of buildings anywhere in sight, or even a dirt road in view, it'd be foolish to believe something so casual and relatively harmless. All I have is the clothing on my back, my phone, keys, a wallet, a comb, my watch, a couple of pencils, and my sketchbook. My watch says it's 1:23 in the morning, though looking at the sun setting above me, that seems inaccurate. Near the horizon there is a thick fog completely blocking my view of what lies beyond. The way it is makes it seem almost as if it's supposed to be here; an obstacle blocking that path so I'll simply turn and walk in the other direction. I could simply walk away, but there's nothing behind me but plains for miles. There could be something worth finding in the fog, so I decide to travel through it.
  6. As I walk through the fog, my mind cannot help but wonder into slight paranoia. “Where am I going?” “How did I end up here?” “Am I even traveling in the right direction?” The fog becomes thicker and thicker with every step I take, but I’m pretty sure I saw something rush by in this direction, so I continue.
  7. Eventually I began finding houses and the fog slowly dissipates. Every house is closed and locked, but I can hear noise, meaning that they are not abandoned. “The people who live here must be hiding from something”, I think to myself. “I need to get some help”. I continued walking and after crossing a bridge I find more homes...“Wait...these buildings…the color…no, it can’t be…PONYVILLE!?”
  8. I’m dreaming, I have to be dreaming, I thought I was dreaming before, BUT NOW I KNOW I’M DREAMING! My heart picks up pace and begins beating like a rabbit, so I try my best to calm down, and rationalize the situation.
  9. I can admit it, I'm a fan of Friendship is Magic. It's not an obsession; you're not going to find me parading around in merchandise and spouting obnoxious catchphrases, but I do find myself watching the show religiously each Saturday, and even sometimes indulging with other Anons that understand my love of the show. This must just be some massively lucid dream I'm experiencing. With that in mind...this is...pretty cool.
  10. It’s so vivid, and detailed. I should just...go with it.
  11. As my pace begins to regulate, I hear the sound of something rushing from behind me. The fog, while faded, still leaves the location obscured, so I had no idea what just passed me. “What the ‘F’ was that?” I run off to try and find the pony who I knew would be most useful: Twilight Sparkle. Lucky for myself, the library is so tall, that I can see the branches looming over buildings in the distance. I sprint in it's direction like there's no tomorrow; I don't want to be out here any longer than I have to. After finally reaching library, I attempt to enter, only to find myself stopped by a magical barrier. I can still feel the presence of whatever’s outside with me, and it’s getting closer. In desperation, I bang on the barrier and call out to her.
  12. Myself: TWILIGHT!? TWILIGHT!?!?!? LET ME IN! I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE!
  13. As I continue my frantic yelling, I see in the corner of my eye an approaching figure hidden in the midst. I turned in horrific anticipation of what was to come next...It’s only Rainbow Dash.
  14. At first, I think things are okay, but they aren't. Dash is set in a slightly crouched stance, her eyes dead set on me, with an almost hateful flair. Things are finally lining-up in my mind; The obscuring fog, the thing running away once it saw me wake up, the ponies hiding in their homes. These ponies are hiding from...me! My heart sink into the bottom of my chest, upon this soul crushing realization.
  15. Realizing the problem, I try to reason with Rainbow Dash, but I can't seem to form the words. Even if I could, I'm sure it'd be pointless. With use of her wings, Dash charges forward with her signature speed and before I can even react, both of her hooves are rammed deep in my chest pushing me into a nearby house. My head then slams into the wall of the building, and almost instantly, I lose consciousness.
  16. Everything becomes a bit of a blur, but I finally come to. My head is pounding, and my brain feels scattered, and hazier than even the most polluted of cities. I think to myself how crazy of a dream that was, but upon opening my eyes, I realize, this isn’t my bed, this isn’t my home. Startled, I try to get out of the bed in an attempt to leave the room, but I immediately fall back screaming in blood curdling pain. My chest are so sore I can barely move without the pain taking affect. My head is also bruised and wrapped with bandages.
  17. “How can a dream hurt so much!?” As I try to contemplate my situation, I hear a faint voice from the doorframe of the room. It's soft, sweet, and instantly recognizable.
  18. Fluttershy: Oh you poor thing. Please don’t try to move very much.
  19. I quietly say,
  20. Myself:...Fluttershy?
  21. My thought is proven correct as she slowly walks over to my bedside. My eyes widen as I see her in plain view.
  22. Fluttershy is now the first pony I have formally met, and unsurprisingly, my heart explodes with joy. “I’m being tended to by Fluttershy! Sure she isn’t my favorite pony, in fact, she's probably my least favorite, but still, IT’S FLUTTERSHY!” I want to hug her, but it’s too painful to extend my arms.
  23. Fluttershy: You really shouldn’t move around, you seem awfully bruised.
  24. Time to make a good impression. Attempting to be as subtle as possible, I tell her,
  25. Myself: Thank you.
  26. Fluttershy blushes slightly.
  27. FS: You're welcome.
  28. Okay, doing good so far. I'll just need to keep calm. Fluttershy continues speaking.
  29. Fluttershy: I can’t believe I’m actually talking to a human. I thought that humans were myths, but apparently, that's not true. If you have the strength to talk, would you mind telling me your name, if that's not a problem or anything.
  30. Myself:...Anon.
  31. FS: Hi Anon, I'm Fluttershy.
  32. I smile to her. And her smile widens as a result.
  33. FS: This is such a rare experience, I have so much I’d like to ask you.
  34. Her grin is practically ear to ear. I can tell how exited she is, but sadly, I'm in too much pain to converse. In an incredibly strained and difficult manner, I ask,
  35. M: Could you maybe ask later?
  36. Her smile quickly fades into a disappointed frown.
  37. Fluttershy: Oh, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t be asking you to talk in your condition, it’s just...I’m a bit excited is all.
  38. An awkward silence comes upon us, but I quickly break it.
  39. Through my very shallow breathing I ask,
  40. M: How did I get here?
  41. Fluttershy explains...sort of: She can’t really converse too long without mumbling or getting off track. I’m also struggling to sustain consciousness due to both injury, exhaustion, and I think blood loss. This is all I can make out: “Well, um, let’s see. At around three o’clock, a beam of light shot into the sky east of Ponyville. I wasn’t actually there to see it though, because I was here helping baby birds learn to sing...um...You see, I kind of tend to the animals in this area. It’s not easy, but it really makes me happy to help all these adorable creatures...( )...and squirrels, and bunnies, and vultures, and anacondas...( )...and then Dash told me, “Stay in the clouds, we don’t know what we’re up against.” So I had to stop the rehearsal...( )...It’s not like I’m afraid of the sky or anything, I just I prefer to stay on the ground. It’s much less...dangerous...( )...and this one time at flight camp...( )...Surprisingly fires CAN break out on clouds...where was I...( )...but nopony assumed a human would travel through the rain and fog, so it didn’t seem like much of a problem...( )...I told her you weren’t dangerous, but me being right wasn’t going to fix that head wound...( )...When we got to the vet, they added the bandages, but refused to keep you around the other animals, so I decided to take you home and heal you myself. I carried you off to my cottage, took off that thing you were wearing [windbreaker] and threw you in the guest bed.”
  42. That explained a lot, but I still have quite a few questions to ask, as did Fluttershy. These questions have to be saved for tomorrow though, because I’m sore, tired, and simply want to go to sleep. Fluttershy seems genuinely okay with this, and walks off to let me get some much needed bed rest. She’s so nice. As I snuggle into the bed I began to contemplate; I still don’t understand what’s going on, but I’m beginning to think this is more than just a dream. I have a feeling that when I wake up, I’ll still be in Equestria...but somehow, I’m okay with this. While I’m not enthusiastic for tomorrow, I still want to see what tomorrow has in store. It’s an odd feeling. I now close my eyes to and drift off to sleep. (...I hope I don’t get some kind of parasite from sleeping in this.)
