  76. Bio: An old veteran, Tarkus Galehand, started out as a loyal servant to the Dragon King.
  77. His family and lineage dedicated their lives to the dragon. They were assigned to destroy and deal with any traitors and dissidents. With almost religious fervor they did their job. The unofficial title of the family was "The Claws of the Dragon" Or "The Burning Inquisition."
  78.
  79. Tarkus was a loyal follower himself. He never questioned his loyalty or the methods his family used to ensure loyalty. He wasn't blind to what he did. He just didn't care. This was his normal life in service to the Dragon. Until he met a friend also loyal to the dragon called Adrian Sparrow. He was more of a local guard that helped the family in local matters. Adrain wasn't a radical loyalist like most people in the city. He was more considerate and caring given his position as guard. Tarkus and Adrian would become fast friends. Tarkus would be constantly surprised by his friends attitude towards the dragon and his citizens. Fair and impartial judgment to a situation was how Adrian handled situations. The idea of innocence and mercy was something Tarkus never considered or understood until Adrian taught him it.
  80.
  81. This change deeply changed Tarkus. The fact the dragon and his followers were not all knowing made Tarkus aware of what he had done. Tarkus found himself at the crossroads of morality. A fact that his family noticed. A fact that would change his life. It is a known fact that the dragon demanded live tributes every few months. The Galehand family was well aware of this fact and has used this as a means of getting rid of dissenters and would be troublemakers to their house. It was also considered an honor to be chosen for tribute if you were loyal to the dragon. It was something you couldn't say no to otherwise you would be considered a Traitor.
  82.
  83. Tarkus' father, Alexander Galehand, was aware of everything that transpired with his son and his new friend. At first he considered it harmless and as a means to increase influence with local guard regiment in case more extreme measures were to be taken to ensure loyalty. This new development however was not something he expected to happen and as such took the means to remove it. Tarkus was sent to a high risk mission outside of hometown during the time of tribute. Alexander used his connections to make sure that Adrian would be chosen as tribute and hide any knowledge of it from Tarkus upon his return. He attempted to, anyway.
  84.
  85. Adrian upon being chosen as tribute wrote his will and last farewell to Tarkus. He would use his connections to ensure that the letter would be delivered to Tarkus. Tarkus did have a reputation for being a cold and unfeeling individual within his family. Perfect for jobs and assignments necessary to ensure the will of the dragon. In fact the first signs of his change of heart were obvious for all to see. However Tarkus in his life never felt wrath at losing something. He never had something to lose until his friendship with Adrian. A second fact to be known about Tarkus is that he was considered to be a prodigy with a blade and shield. Tarkus lost his friend. The only person willingly to get to know him and explore his soul. Needless to say he immediately killed the men assigned with this mission to stop any word getting back to his father.
  86.
  87. He would then return to his family home. Rage all consuming in his heart and mind, no questions were asked or heard from Tarkus as he committed familicide. When the rage finally left his senses he awakened in the family dining sitting on his father's chair. The walls of his home dripped with blood. Tarkus finally felt he did something right but at the cost of his family. Everything he had to do to serve the dragon was gone in one night with no regrets.
  88.
  89. Needless to say he was lost and depressed when the dragon king showed up to his home. The dragon king said only this: "You destroyed a useful tool." He burned Tarkus that night along with his home. Everything burned to the ground that night except Tarkus. That night Tarkus dragged himself out of the fire and survived thanks to efforts of heroes that overthrew the dragon king soon after.
  90. Tarkus suffered burns throughout his body thanks to dragon fire. From head to toe he would be covered in bandages with only things being uncovered: his blackened fingertips and his piercing blue eyes.
  91.
  92. In debt to the heroes that saved him and knowing the true nature of the Dragon King, he would work with the heroes to overthrow him. Through the years he found soul and conscience. When the civil wars would begin, Tarkus committed to finding a good man to support and rule the land. Working as a mercenary he would find and leave many causes. Often leaving when war crimes and acts would be considered for the greater good.
  93.
  94. Tarkus yearns to be remembered as a hero rather than feared as a villian under a good king or rule. He wished to let the title of Bloody Prince to be forgotten and be remembered as something better. However, even with noble goals in mind, Tarkus still searches to this day for hints if any of his family survived. The time of Dragons is over but in his mind it ends with his line. He has left the name Tarkus (and now calls himself Joshua), to everything his family gave in the wind.
