  6. Yeah, it's too bad that anyone enjoys shounen. No one should ever be or be anything like a boy in any meaningful way, especially if they're female. In fact, no one should ever watch or rate things based on enjoyment, even if that's what they were created for and is a compulsion and prime positive desire of humans. Civilization should've stopped with books. Visuals and sound are just unnecessary fanservice-desunyaa~.

  18. Well there is a difference between expressing an opinion and flamming. The first is productive while the second (which is what you are doing) isn't .Just like there is a difference between the phrase" i have watched something" and "i have read the plot synopsis".

  31. I believe that daidaisuki made her point crystal clear. Plus she made some of the best posts (in terms of arguements and structure) I have seen in the site since I became a member.
  32.
  33. Roriconfan maybe you should actually listen to what she has to say instead of trying to evade by changing the subject.
  34.
  35. Oh and by the way there is no such thing as a good reason for flaming a series thread. The fact that you don't like something does not give you the right to ruin the conversation for those who enjoy the series.

  40. AniDB disagrees that everyone should vote however they want, or it wouldn't do anything to counteract cheating (voting more than once for the same item or voting when you haven't experienced the item you voted on). His statistics (including the number of reviews, which is acceptable) being assumed to actually be so much larger than those of others on this site support the idea that he knows anime extremely well, which many people take as support for the validity of his opinions.
  41.
  42. I don't know what you mean by an unrealistic vote. I assume you mean that the lack of realism isn't based on whether the person has actually seen the item voted upon or not, but on how far off in valuation from you the vote is (i.e. how much they disagree with your "objective" opinions on how much quality the item has). As for only complaining about individual votes, does that mean that you wouldn't complain if someone had multiple or an extreme number of "unrealistic" votes, or that you only complain about each "unrealistic" vote that you care about, such as someone's theoretical vote of 4 on LOGH?

  52. Didn't know we have so many purists, who have a butthurt over the votes of others.
  53. Everyone should vote however they want, and organize their MyList as they see fit. Why would you care how rori or anyone else do that?

  63. I mentioned flaming in your posts, not lying. Voting when you haven't watched a series is lying, though. Neither is very objective.
  64.
  65. Of course you have reasons to flame series in your posts. I assume you flame them because you're angry and like the attention, or something like that.

  85. The problem is that your contributions are often invalid, so making more of them is not a good thing. If someone actually honestly votes low for LOGH or high for Bleach that is valid. No one is mentioning doing anything to your reviews, anyway. Also, I have no doubt that cheaters other than you (including those who cheat up ratings, including LOGH's (or maybe you actually think it naturally rose by around 0.2 in around a year), which isn't countered well, because AniDB is better at countering negative cheaters) do a lot more combined damage than you do. That doesn't mean what you did is okay, though.
  86.
  87. Votes are opinions, so your opinions that LOGH is a masterpiece and Bleach is terrible don't mean that anyone else has to vote in line with you. I rated LOGH higher than I rated Bleach, too, but LOGH is more overrated to me than Bleach is. More importantly, I doubt AniDB is going to assign or "correct" votes and ratings to your satisfaction, as users would not enjoy, say, LOGH being fixed at a rating of 9.5 and Bleach being fixed at a rating of 5.5.
  88.
  89. What harmful members? Voting in accordance with how the voter feels is normal and accepted by AniDB, and basically every rating site. I doubt AniDB wants to change this, as it would alienate most of the voters here. Also, I doubt you oppose real cheaters nearly as often as you pop in to flame every opinion that doesn't match your own, even when it doesn't help your case (but admittedly probably does make you feel better), even though the judgment of art is not a science, so your judgments are not necessarily better than someone else's to anyone but yourself.
  90.
  91. You are not objective, because you are a liar. Making false claims is in opposition to objectivity. Flaming things people like because you don't happen to agree isn't very objective, either.
  92.
  93. By the way, you meant "PREY", not "PRAY".

  98. Oh all of a sudden me being an active member who contributes in everything in this site is a problem. Me, ONE member out of HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS.
  99.
  100. If that is how you want it, I demand all voters who gave LoGH LESS THAN 6 and/or Bleach MORE THAN 5 to have all their votes canceled as well. Because they clearly affect the votes in a bad way as well if they dare give such numbers to such series. And they are FAR MORE IN NUMBERS AND TOTAL VOTES THAN ME. Yeah, that will save this site from misimformation and misleading votes. Something that happens right now in 99.99% of all entries.
  101.
  102. You are messing with the wrong guy. I am here to take out the real harmful members of this site. That is the frakking fanboys and newbies who hate LoGH because it has old hairstyles and love Elfen Lied because it has a serious story.

  109. As to what effect his votes have, it's a lot more than you (bluedemon) seem to think. Firstly, there's no way to prove he's only giving out fives when he shouldn't be voting. Secondly, we don't know how AniDB normalizes and/or weights his votes, so we don't know how severe the damage done by each one may be.
  110.
  111. Thirdly, the damage is actually more severe for series that have very few votes, as people will not have an official rating to look at, and will thus look at the unmodified vote distribution graph.
  112.
  113. Finally, each vote he shouldn't have made alters the ratings of their respective series (more for ones with fewer votes, especially if he's more of an outlier) as well as probably modifying the normalization and/or weighting of ALL his other votes, including not just other series, but also votes for groups, episodes, others' reviews, etc.!
  114.
  115. 9616 votes. 9616. Do you have any idea what I could do with that many votes? I could tank Eva, LOGH, HxH, or whatever I wanted's ratings! Just because the damage is very distributed (although greater for unpopular anime) doesn't make it acceptable.

  120. This isn't a "difference in organization" and he isn't even open about it. He only admits it when called out on it. If he were being open he'd say upfront in his profile that he hasn't actually seen most of the things in his list. There isn't room for semantics here, when you list something as having been watched that you haven't in fact watched then you're a liar, period. You don't have any liberty to redefine what "watched" means.
  121.
  122. But what's the point in "black listing" them in the first place? What justification is there for him to rate things he's never seen? Sure, maybe any given person wouldn't believe he's seen all those things, but what if someone is not looking at the big picture but only at some given anime? He can come in talking down some anime and people will think he's actually seen it, and thus at least worthy of having his point of view acknowledged. But it's not worthy of acknowledgement at all.
  123.
  124. It makes no sense to me for him to do this for any other reasons than to be deceitful. He seems to draw a lot on the imaginary status he's built for himself. The guy pushes his opinions as absolutes and routinely and summarily rejects those that oppose them, and he uses his wealth of "experience" with other anime as a foundation in this. But that experience is largely a lie.

  129. Come on, guys. A single vote on any given series isn't going to do much of anything. I recall reading somewhere that a minimum of ten votes are needed before any series is given either a temporary or a permanent rating. Even then, if he gives a vote of 5 on the stuff he hasn't seen (and he does give most series a 5), it becomes a situation of no harm, no foul.
  130.
  131. Besides that, rori's comments and reviews do have merit. They are well thought out and quite fair. Any differences I've ever had with his opinions have always come down to a matter of personal enjoyment. In all honesty, he really is a reasonable guy. He organizes his list differently, but he's open about it. I seriously doubt that he ever expected people to think that he's seen all of the stuff in his list.

I now have watched enough to start reviewing, especialy series that most otakus don't appreciate as they should.") that his statistics are extremely inaccurate by most people's standards.
  161.
  162. Even so, why even bother adding episodes he "isn't interested in seeing" (and thus never saw) to his list? Even worse, he votes on series he hasn't seen! He has a combined 5442 permanent and temporary anime title votes, out of 5449 titles added to his list. There's no way to believe that he's seen 5442 titles, so he can't justify voting on all of them! I hope his votes are disabled from having any effect on ratings (without any disclosure to him), as plenty of them are clearly lies!

  186. Besides that, for a good number on his list he's probably seen zero and is going strictly on descriptions - at best. At least some are very likely to be impossible to attain and could have only been seen when they originally aired in Japan. Some of them are probably close to impossible to even find real information on, especially if you don't live in Japan (much less, are not fluent in Japanese - by the way, is roriconfan fluent in Japanese? Since I'm sure a majority of things on his watchlist weren't translated)

It does when you haven't actually seen all of these titles, many of which are old, never sold even as well as very poorly (if they were even sold!), and were never released outside of Japan, even unsubbed. I doubt you were in Japan to watch these things as they aired, especially as a baby and even before you were alive. Maybe you have fast forwarded through many available episodes, but a reasonable person would consider that to be skimming, not watching, as fast forwarding skips frames and alters sound.

He already wrote a review that is better than your median or mean review (I would say how (although you can probably guess from the following words) but you might respond by altering the result to "prove" that you're right, although that would justify him, me, and anyone else who dislikes your behavior responding in kind). True, he didn't write as many reviews as you have. I'm not sure why this matters beyond your possible belief that quantity is a quality that reflects well on you.
  217.
  218. His list is also far better than yours, as it isn't packed with lies. As for showing off, that's more what you do on this site, because you enjoy posting all the time, often in a belligerent manner, especially when it's unnecessary. From what I've seen here, he also supports his statements with evidence, while you often choose an anime you value poorly to compare another anime to, and then flame the disvalued anime without explaining how your opinions are objective all the way to the roots of their existence, often in a thread for the disvalued anime, which naturally creates negative emotions in others, thus making this world a worse place overall.
