  1. Hi Nick;
  2.
  3. Thanks for your request! I think our cabin would be a good fit for your group, so I'll do my best to answer your questions.
  4.
  5. Trash:
  6. We're working on the trash issue. The cabins in the area seem to be about a 50/50 split on who pays for trash service, and who hauls theirs out. Since our family was only using our cabin about one weekend a month before we started renting it out in December, we opted not to pay for trash service and would haul a couple of bags with us to the dump in Avery, which is on Hwy 4 between Arnold and Murphys (about 15-20 minutes down the hill on the way back to the city). Recently, however, they have started asking for proof of residency to drop trash there. That's fine for us, but has made it difficult for renters. I've inquired about getting trash pickup but haven't received a response from Waste Management yet. So that leaves two possible solutions for you. 1) I can send you a copy of my PG&E statement which should let you into the dropoff spot in Avery, or 2) I'll try again to reach Waste Management and see what it would take to get regular trash pickup at the cabin. Either way, we should have a solution before July. :-)

  8. Grill:
  9. When we purchased the cabin 3 years ago, the previous owners had been using the house as a vacation rental, and pretty much left us everything in the house ... except the grill. Now that we're renting it out, my plan has been to get a grill once the weather warms up and the snow melts. If for some reason that hasn't happened by the time you arrive, you are more than welcome to bring your own. As far as I know, there aren't restrictions about grilling ... other than common sense since we're in the middle of a national forest! :-)

  11. Deposit & schedule:
  12. Sure, we can block the dates if you send me a deposit ... I'll have to figure out how best to do that within the Airbnb payment and calendar system, but I'm sure we can figure it out. My calendar shows the next guest arriving on July 20 and staying through July 24, so you should be able to stay through the 19th ... or book the following week if that is easier for you. We just always leave one day open between guests to give our cleaners plenty of flexibility ... especially during busy seasons. Let me know if you're having trouble booking those dates. In the meantime I'll click the "preapprove" button which will automatically hold your dates for 24 hours. After that, just let me know what you'd like to do.

  14. Oh ... and my wife and I were relocated to France for work last summer (part of the reason we started renting out our cabin) ... and we'll be living here for another year or so until our company's SAP project is finished. (I know ... it doesn't suck!) What that means is that we're 8 hours ahead of California ... 9 hours starting Sunday when we switch over to Daylight Saving Time. I always do my best to respond to messages as soon as I receive them, although sometimes it might take a few hours if yours arrive while we're sleeping. But don't hesitate to write ... I'll always respond quickly.

  16. Thanks again for the opportunity to answer your questions. Let me know if I can give you more information!
