WALRUS ban
Was going to post in your thread but my Karma is too low apparently.

Here's my two cents on the issue, just so someone trying to help WALRUS knows.

It seems like the main reason WALRUS was banned was because he doesn't wish to out his main. That doesn't even necessarily mean he has one but might just be calling for a rise out of people who are actively looking for one.

Epic Mafia IRL, in my opinion. With the ban being a lynch because someone decided to troll and seemed scummy.

A common theme also seems to be there's no definitive proof WALRUS was a previously banned user and no real reason why WALRUS should have been banned, despite the acknowledgement of other users being identified through proxy IPs and sharing similar IPs of other users and not receiving the same punishment.

Now if WALRUS doesn't have a main and is looking for a rise out of the EM Moderation/Administration it's already been agreed on that being annoying isn't just means for a ban. Response: Unban him.

If he does and he's not outing it, it's possible that he has no contact with it anymore, is just being annoying as a WILDWALRUS might be, which isn't bannable as stated above.

If he does have a main and uses it, this is just an annoying troll account. Annoying has already been said to not be bannable. See above.

And if WALRUS's main is banned, it's been stated that there's no link, the ban is based on speculation with no definitive proof and just being annoyed by the way he acts. Not ban worthy. See above.

A proxy address might be likely. Which if you guys were given the opportunity to be given his Main through such means I would have considered asking if those accounts were his at all. Narrow it down through that. Then if there's denial, which WALRUS seems to be willing to comply if you do have his name, there's no link. Without proper evidence or dismissed evidence, I see nothing worth being banned for.

Now on the subject of Proxy accounts, I'll agree with Jerry that just because two people use the same proxy it doesn't make them the same person. Everyone has the right to not want their personal IP out in eyes of everyone, and I think most people would agree that everyone deserves a level of privacy if they should choose to have it. You can't just assume that a proxy IP is always going to be one person with the fact that proxies tend to be public domain and anyone can use them.

Once again it seems like WALRUS was just banned for not outing a main he may or may not have, and just because some people were annoyed that he refused to acknowledge and didn't want to properly investigate the issue past what they could quickly find in a five minute search.

I'll also have to agree with the poster who mentioned a jury deciding on WALRUS's fate as it seems the community is torn between WALRUS being banned or not banned, and less being being for the ban.

As for trying to threaten WALRUS into compliance and reporting the possible harassment afterwards, isn't that what WALRUS has been doing this entire time with his threads on possible mod abuse?
