  3.
  4. >“Anon, what are you doing?”
  5. “Making Coffee”
  6. >“It's Four o'clock in the morning, why are you making coffee?”
  7. “Because I've lost control of my life.”
  8. >That's how you'd imagine the conversation would go, if there actually was anyone left in the house.
  9. >And it's not as if losing control of your life is any new development
  10. “I mean, I'm Eighteen and I'm already weighing the pro's and con's of just shutting off my brain”
  11. >Great now you're talking to yourself
  12. >You reach for the mug of instant coffee you made and swear.
  13. >Right, wrong arm.
  14. >With your left arm, you pick up the coffee and stare into space
  15. >Gee brain, what are we going to do today?
  16. >Same thing we do everyday Voice in my head
  17. >Fuck all at school, fuck all at home.
  18.
  19. >Might as well get dressed at least.
  20. >It takes you about half an hour to get your clothes on and washed as usual.
  21. >You lock up the house, checking your watch once you put the keys back into your pocket
  22. >”4:57”
  23. >Fuck my life
  24. >24 hour garage is probably still open
  25. >So you make your way there.
  26. >So glad you don't get ID'd here.
  27. >Pack of cigarettes for the next four days and a beer before school.
  28. >Whilst walking past the pumps, you spot a familiar shape.
  29. >Huh. What she's doing up so early.
  30. >“Anon?”
  31. >Shit. She spotted you.
  32. “Dash”
  33. >Be as curt as possible. You're still barely actually concious at this point
  34. >She's noticed the six pack of beers in the bag, and the pack of cigarettes in your shirt pocket
  35. >You can't help but notice the saddened look in her eyes that passes as soon as it's arrived
  36. >“How did you...”
  37. “Figured that there can't be that many people under 21 with only one arm. 'Sides, I've always looked ancient”
  38. >She doesn't quite know how to respond for a few seconds, and so the two of you awkwardly stand in the street for a few seconds.
  39. >“Need a hand?”
  40.
  41. >God damn does that question annoy you.
  42. >You stop short of saying “no shit” and just swallow your pride.
  43. >You need a cigarette anyway
  44. “Sure. Can you carry this for a second?”
  45.
  46. >You pass her the bag with the beer in it and place a cigarette in your mouth with your left hand.
  47. >As the two of you walk slowly away from the garage you reach into your pocket and light it, putting the lighter away.
  48. >Glad it isn't windy, you had nothing to shield it
  49. “What are you doing up at this godforsaken hour in the morning?”
  50. >“I'm going to the gym.”
  51. >You look her up and down, noticing the tracksuit bottoms and plain black top. Makes sense.
  52. “Should've guessed.”
  53. >“What are you doing up?”
  54. “Couldn't sleep.”
  55. >“And the beer?”
  56. “Parents are gone for two weeks. Figured I'd drink on my own after school”
  57. >At least she didn't ask about the cigarettes, but after 5 years you'd think she'd be used to them
  58. >“You want to come with?”
  59. >Well. That was unexpected.
  60. >You grin, more out of pity then anything else
  61. “And do one handed curls? Pass”
  62. >For a few moments she doesn't say anything. God, it didn't used to be this awkward
  63. “You don't have to walk me home, I can carry my grocery's”
  64. >She also says you can't, and part of you dares her to.
  65. >Oh cripples are so strong, they can do big boy things all by themselves
  66. >“Sure.” She says, obviously hurt
  67. >You don't need this emotional crap before school. That's what staring moodily out of the window supposed to do.
  68.
  69. >“You know Anon, you don't have to drink on your own.”
  70. >Sure, lets hang out. Hey, we can play catch and baseball and ride bikes and do all the things I used to do
  71. >Oh right, the arm
  72. “Yes I do. Besides, this is adult stuff. You're still squirt to me.”
  73. >“Oh look at me, I'm so big and mature because I'm one and a half years older then you. Like a broken record you are.”
  74. >You almost grin at that. At least Dash didn't stand on eggshells all the time.
  75. “One day you'll be older then me Squirt.”
  76. >You do that annoying Head pat thing she's always hated, making her face go red with what must be anger
  77. >It feels shockingly good to talk to another person. Feels like I haven't done that in years.
  78. >You've reached the “Crossroads.” Either she walks you to your front door, carrying your things and helps you like the good little guilt ridden person she is
  79. >Or you tell her to scoot along and have a life
  80. >I mean go to the gym. No larger metaphor at play here nosirree
  81. “Well, thanks for the help.”
  82. >You almost snatch the bag out of her hands and make your way down your street.
  83. >“See you in class?” She asks.
  84. >Better not answer that.
  85.
  86. >You're sat in the library
  87. >After all, it's Gym class, and you've got the best excuse out of anyone in the school to skip it
  88. >Other than that kid in the wheelchair two years below
  89. >Not important
  90. >Fuck Chemistry. Covalent bonds can eat a dick
  91. >Or bond to it.
  92. >Whatever, fuck Chemistry text books.
  93. >You take a look around the library, just to take your mind away from study
  94. >Two kids in the lowest year staring at you. Perfectly normal
  95. >and a purple clothes wearing nerd with about sixteen text books on her desk.
  96. >You vaguely remember her as the transfer student that's friends with Squirt.
  97. >The eggheaded one
  98. >You return to your textbook just as she looks up from hers
  99. >huh. Is it me or is turning a page and writing at the same time difficult?
  100. >Oh yeah, it fucking is with one arm
  101. >Bollocks
  102.
  103. >You barely notice the person sitting opposite to you on the table
  104. >“Anon?”
  105. >You look up from doing nothing but stare at the pages and notice that Purple smart is now sitting opposite you
  106. “Do we know each other?”
  107. >Code for “Please go away, I'm pretending to be busy”
  108. >“I'm Dash's friend”
  109. “Dash has many friends”
  110. >At least, you think she does. Can't think why not, she's a good kid
  111. >Poor girl has no idea how to respond to that.
  112. >Good, maybe I can pretend to study in peace.
  113. >“You and Dash are friends right?”
  114. >God damn it
  115. “Eh.”
  116. >Good answer anon.
  117. >“What does that mean?”
  118.
  119. >Crap
  120. “It means that I'm pretty anti-social”
  121. >“Is that because of your arm?”
  122. >Holy crap you didn't even try to sugar coat that
  123. >You grin
  124. “No shit”
  125. >You can tell a million possible words and sentences are running through her head
  126. “What brought on this line of questioning?”
  127. >She looks away for a moment before returning to look at you quite seriously
  128. >“She's worried about you.”
  129. “People have been worrying about me for five years, that's nothing new.”
  130. >“She said you're drinking on your own”
  131. “Been doing that for three”
  132. >“She said your smoking”
  133. “Five. It's shockingly easy to get cigarettes in hospital”
  134. >“She said you were up at five in the morning”
  135. “All right, that one is new. But Coffee is a hell of a drug”
  136. >“Look, I've read about destructive behaviour, and your clearly...”
  137. “Yep”
  138.
  139. >“Excuse me?
  140. “Absolutely. Smoking and drinking on my own are fun. No reason to stop”
  141. >“You... Your behaviour is clearly a cry for attention.”
  142. “Nah. Never liked the limelight. I just enjoy those things.”
  143. >“There are people who care about you.”
  144. “Eh, they'll be fine.”
  145. >“Your downward spiral effects them too.”
  146. “Are you trying to guilt trip me or something? Usually girls wait until their third date for that kind of behaviour.”
  147. >she doesn't say anything.
  148. “Look... What's your name?”
  149. >“Twilight Sparkle”
  150. >Man, the hippy revolution of 67 really fucked up nomenclature
  151. “Right. Anyway, I'm fine. I don't know why you care, and frankly I don't know why Squirt does either.”
  152. >“Squirt?”
  153. “You know? Cause she's younger than me? And shorter?”
  154. >She still looks confused.
  155. “Rainbow”
  156. >“oh”
  157. “Anyway, I'm a big boy. I can look after myself.”
  158.
  159. >With that, you begin to ignore her and focus once again on your text book, motioning to flip the page whilst you write something down with your left hand
  160. >Oh. Right.
  161. >She leaves soon enough. Going back to her mountain of textbooks
  162.
  163.
  164. >Last Period was always fun on a Monday, not that you'd ever admit it
  165. >Being one of three guys that picked this subject had something to do with it, at least, that's what you'd say if anyone asked why you picked drama
  166. >Why Dash picked this class on the other hand you had no idea
  167. “You know, it's always bothered me.”
  168. >“What's that Bandit?”
  169. >Heh, one armed bandit. I can appreciate that
  170. “Why did you pick Drama? You clearly can't stand all this acting rubbish and you never do any of the plays.”
  171. >“Um.... I...”
  172. >Always very eloquent that girl
  173. >“Why'd you pick it? Not much call for a one armed actor, and you're not that good.”
  174. >You grin. Nice deflection
  175. “Cause I'm one of three guys here, and Pokey is gay. So that leaves two of us”
  176. >She looks pissed.
  177. “Oh come on. Don't look at me like that, you knew I was an arsehole 12 years ago.”
  178. >“It was slightly less obvious when you were six”
  179. “There was that time I broke your leg pushing out of that tree-house”
  180. >“There was that time I stole your brand new Motorola Razor and broke it”
  181. “How about the time I lost my...”
  182. >Oh.
  183. >You let the words hang awkwardly in the air. We both had agreed, at some point, that we wouldn't talk about that
  184. >Suddenly, your right arm itches
  185. “Let's just get on with drama eh?”
  186. >“Sure anon”
  187. >Wow, you can hear the hurt in that voice
  188. >Too bad you don't actually give a shit
  189.
  190. >Finally school is over, you quickly leave, ensuring you get out before Squirt can catch up to you
  191. >”Anon!”
  192. >Shit. She moves fast
  193. >Well yeah numbnuts, she's an athlete, you're a cripple
  194. >“You're not going to watch me play soccer?”
  195. “Squirt, when have I ever gone to one of your games?”
  196. >“Five years ago.”
  197. >Seems like everything was five years ago nowadays
  198. >That's a bizarre sentence
  199. “Dash, I've got homework I've got to do.”
  200. >“When have you ever done homework early?”
  201. >Heh. Got you there
  202. >“Look, just once, do you want to do something other then mope about in your lonely house?”
  203. >No
  204. >Yes
  205. >Maybe
  206. “I...Don't know”
  207. >“Sorry?”
  208. >Don't mumble Anon
  209. “One game?”
  210. >Dash smiles more brightly then you've seen in a long time
  211. >“One game.”
  212.
  213. >It annoys you that this is called Soccer in this country
  214. >Where you're from it's football.
  215. >Sure you've lived here for twelve years but, y'know
  216. >Also. You totally agree with them that this game is boring
  217. >Like, as much as American football starts and stops every five seconds, at least the score moves past 1-1
  218. >Rugby's all right, not that you can play it anymore, but...
  219. >Oh shit Rainbow has the ball
  220. >She's moving like a lightning bolt down the right side
  221. >Fucking gliding past their defence
  222. >You remember she was good, but in the last five years she's gotten really good
  223. >A simple flick of her foot and the ball slams into the back of the net
  224. >in the 87th minute, Rainbow finally breaks the tie. The crowd scream and clap
  225. >You remember clapping
  226. >Once
  227. >Good times
  228. >The next five minutes are boring safe defensive play by the rest of the team, but the game finally ends with a 2-1 victory to the home team
  229. >Not bad
  230.
  231. >“Didn't think you'd watch this Anon”
  232. >You hadn't noticed Flash sitting two rows above
  233. >You turn around
  234. “Yeah, figured I'd give a hand filling up some seats.”
  235. >You see him trying not to grin
  236. >You turn away from him as you notice him standing up
  237. >Oh god, he's sitting next to you.
  238. >Fug, I hate socialising
  239. >“I heard you can get alcohol.”
  240. >Well that was unexpected
  241. “Ask your parents real nice.”
  242. >“I heard you have an empty house for two weeks.”
  243. >Holy shit, is this guy spying on me?
  244. “Think carefully about what you say next Flash.”
  245. >Sure, beat up the star football player with one arm, that'll work.
  246. >“Whoa man, calm down. I didn't mean that. Just that it's basically high school etiquette to have a party at your house when your parents are out of town.”
  247. “I don't do parties.”
  248. >“Come on man. How many parties have I invited you too?”
  249. “How many have I gone too?”
  250. >“It's the thought that counts.”
  251. >You grin. Cheeky bugger
  252. “Flash, I'm not doing a party at my house. I don't do socialising.”
  253. >“Maybe you should man.”
  254.
  255. “Yeesh, everyone is telling me that today.”
  256. >“Yeah Twilight said I had to talk to you.”
  257. >Ah, that's how it is.
  258. “I had a chat with your girlfriend 4th period. Interesting girl.”
  259. >“Apparently you're an asshole, but it's a favour for one of her friends.”
  260. “Yeah, poor Applejack hates seeing me like this”
  261. >“I thought it was Rainbow Dash?”
  262. “Joke Flash. Applejack never liked me ever since I got into a fight with Big Mac when we were younger.”
  263. >“Holy shit, is that how you lost the arm?”
  264. >Now that was funny
  265. >Your laughter brings a smile to his face.
  266. “Nah man. I won. That's why Jack doesn't like me.”
  267. >Well that isn't entirely true. You're just a bit too bitter for her taste.
  268. >Do not say that out loud, that sounds stupid
  269. >“Darn. Thought I had worked it out.”
  270. >You look at the blue haired young man
  271. “Do you seriously not know how I lost it?”
  272. >Flash sentry looks embarrassed.
  273. >“I asked Twilight about it, and she said it was between Dash and you to tell.”
  274. “Bullshit, it's was in the paper five years ago.”
  275.
  276. >Be Anon.
  277. >Be thirteen year old
  278. >Be playing with Rainbow Dash at the abandoned concrete factory
  279.
  280. >Nope.jpg
  281. >Not having a flashback now
  282. >Save that for when you're drunk
  283. >“Just consider it man. If you need help inviting people round, I can give a hand.”
  284. >He winces as he realises what he said
  285. >I roll my eyes.
  286. “Not going to happen Flash.”
  287. >You stand up and make your way off the bleachers
  288. >May as well join the line congratulating Rainbow
  289. >By the time you reach the exit to the changing room, there actually is a large crowd of people around her
  290. >You feel someone grab you by your arm and pull you aside
  291. >Ah.
  292. >Shit.
  293. >It's AJ
  294.
  295. “I didn't do it.”
  296. >That was a useful reflex to have
  297. >“Not this time no.”
  298. >Oh good.
  299. “You all right?”
  300. >“Since when do you make small chat?”
  301. “Since when do I go to football games?”
  302. >“This is soccer.”
  303. >Fuck you
  304. “You know what I meant.”
  305. >“Dash said you're smoking again.”
  306. “I never quit, just my parents starting trying to actually stop me now that I actually can buy them legally.”
  307. >“You should listen to them.”
  308. “I'm sure I'll agree with you when I'm older and no longer a stupid teenager, but till then.”
  309. >“At least you're self aware about it.”
  310. >You grin sadly
  311. “Doesn't change anything.”
  312.
  313. >“Well, anyway sugar, the reason I dragged you here is actually because of y'know what.”
  314. >Ah cryptic messages
  315. “I am not going to another satanic ritual.”
  316. >Applejack glares at you
  317. “Are we still not mentioning your short lived goth phrase?”
  318. >“That never happened.”
  319. >You had pictures that proved otherwise, but whatever
  320. >“I'm talking about Dash's birthday.”
  321. >ohhhh yeah.
  322. “Shite, forgot about that.”
  323. >“Some friend you are.”
  324. >Well fuck you too
  325. >You wave what's left of your right arm at her
  326. “Proof otherwise.”
  327. >That was harsh. You never held her responsible for that
  328. >Before she can even say anything, you look suitably guilty for that.
  329. “Sorry, didn't mean that.”
  330. >She calms down
  331. “I'll get her the same thing I always get her.”
  332. “Don't. She was really hurt by what you got her last year.”
  333. >Oh.
  334. “What's wrong with Video games? I can't play them, might as well give them to someone who can.”
  335. >“You know Dash isn't a boy right?”
  336. “Yeah, since I was nine.”
  337. >That was a weird summer
  338. >“And she's not a kid anymore.”
  339. “She's turning seventeen, not 21.”
  340. >“She might want you, her oldest friend, to see her as something then a little brother who happens to be a girl.”
  341. “I haven't treated her like that in years.”
  342. >“Yes you have. The only reason that's died down is because you stopped actually hanging out ever since...”
  343. >She points at your right shoulder.
  344. >“You know.”
  345.
  346. “She needs to move on from that day.”
  347. >Applejack suddenly turns absolutely furious
  348. >“SHE NEEDS TO MOVE ON!”
  349. >A few people look round, including Dash
  350. >Applejack leads you away from the crowd
  351. >“If you think that...”
  352. “Look, she needs to cut ties with everything that happened on that day and move on. Have a life.”
  353. >“...What are you talking about?”
  354. >You sigh
  355. “I'm... At some point, she has to accept that I'm not going to be her bro again. I'm not going to be her friend that will ride bikes with her and fight with her and get underage drunk with her.”
  356. >You scratch your right shoulder
  357. “At some point... She's got to let me go.”
  358. >“You... You think you're a bad influence.”
  359. >You sigh
  360. “I know I'm tying her down. I see it in her eyes. Every time she looks at me, she sees me that afternoon, screaming in pain.”
  361. >“You're her friend.”
  362. “So are a lot of people.”
  363.
  364. >You begin to walk away.
  365. >“Just... Promise me you'll buy her something nice.”
  366. >You turn back to face Applejack
  367. >A million thoughts and answers rush through your mind
  368. >One last time
  369. “Sure.”
  370. >You make your way home, trying not to notice Rainbow Dash looking for you in the crowd
  371. >You lit a cigarettes, distracting you from the overally social day you've had.
  372. >Fuck high school
  373. >At least You're on your own in the house
  374.
  375. >It's about six o'clock in the evening when your phone vibrates
  376. >No one ever calls you
  377. >You awkward reach over and grab it, dropping your fork in the process
  378. “Son of a... Hello?”
  379. >“Sup.”
  380. “How did you get this number Flash.”
  381. >“Twilight gave it to me.”
  382. >I'm sure that's not all she...
  383. “How did she get this number?”
  384. >“Dunno. Rainbow Dash?”
  385. “Dude, I'm not your buddy guy. You don't have to...”
  386. >“Nah man this ain't some intervention shit I need a hand.”
  387. >Wait, seriously?
  388. “You know I've only got one of those right?”
  389. >“My parents are fucking pissed with me big time, I need a place to crash where they won't find me.”
  390. “Ask that brown haired guy you're always hanging around with. Norman?”
  391. >“That's the first place they'll look.”
  392. >Son of a bitch.
  393. “What's in it for me?”
  394. >I'm going to say no anyway
  395. >“$200”
  396. “Say that again?”
  397. >“$200.”
  398. >Well. That changes things. I mean, I'm rude and all. But money is money, and it's difficult to get a job as a one armed high school student.
  399. “You know where I live? And If you bring anyone else I'll call your parents.”
  400. >“Yeah man, everyone knows where you live.”
  401. >Creepy.
  402. >You need to move out asap
  403. “All right. You can crash. One night.”
  404. >“Hey, thanks man.”
  405. >He hangs up, and you can't help but think that this was a mistake.
  406. >Fuck it, back to carbonara
  407.
  408. >The doorbell rings at about 7:30
  409. >Halfway through you watching Team America:World Police
  410. >You lazily get up from the sofa and stretch your arm as you reach the doorway
  411. >You open the door to, surprise, find Flash standing in the doorway
  412. “Sup.”
  413. >“Sup man.”
  414. >He stands there awkwardly for a few seconds
  415. “You wanna come in?”
  416. >“Sure.” he says, dumping his bag of clothes and stuff in the hallway.
  417. >God damn why did you agree to this
  418. >Oh yeah, cigarette money
  419. >“Sorry about this. It had to be someone my parents didn't know.”
  420. “What'd you do? Kill a guy?”
  421. >He looks away embarrassed
  422. >“I...Eh. I got caught smoking weed.”
  423. >you can't help but laugh at him
  424. >“Shut up. Their super anti-drugs. There threatening to drag me out of school.”
  425. “Dude, that sucks.”
  426. >You make your way back to your sitting room and lay down on the couch
  427. >Like a puppy, Flash follows you
  428. “I'm not a pothead, but I've been smoking since I was thirteen. Parents didn't overly care.”
  429. >“Wow. You're a lucky guy.”
  430. “Well, there was a reason I was allowed.”
  431. >He looks at where your right arm should be and puts two and two together
  432. >“Oh. Sorry man.”
  433. “Mate, don't worry about it. If I got offended every time people brought up the arm I'd stay in all day and post on tumblr or something.”
  434. >You reach into your shirt pocket and pull out a single cigarette out of the pack.
  435. >You place it in your mouth and franticly search both pockets for a lighter.
  436. >Grinning, you turn back to Flash
  437. “Got a light?”
  438. >Flash smiles and grabs a lighter from his pocket.
  439. >He motions to light your cigarette for you when you snatch it out of his hand
  440. >You're a cripple, not retarded
  441.
  442. >“You know that stuff will kill you.”
  443. >You roll your eyes as you pass back his lighter
  444. “That is the general idea.”
  445. >Flash is confused by your cheerful tone
  446. >“Huh?”
  447. >You press play on the remote and lean back into the sofa
  448. >“Ah man, I love Team America!”
  449. >To be fair, who the fuck doesn't
  450.
  451. >By the time the movie is over, it's nine o'clock
  452. >You crack open a beer and surf through the TV, seeing nothing decent on
  453. >“What console you got?”
  454. “None.”
  455. >“Oh, you one of those PC playing guys.”
  456. “Nope.”
  457. >”Wait, seriously? You don't own a video game console?”
  458. “I don't own any video games.”
  459. >Flash seems generally surprised by this
  460. >”You might actually be the first guy I've ever meet that doesn't own a single video game.”
  461. “How on Earth am I supposed to play video games one handed?”
  462. >Godamn, people just keep forgetting that.
  463. >There's fuck all on TV, you stand up to leave
  464. “Couch folds out into a bed, pillows are in the cupboard at the top of the stairs, bathroom's to the right of that. I'm off to drink on my own.”
  465. >Flash looks at you confused.
  466. >”On your own? Why?”
  467. “Because I'm good company.”
  468. >Fuck off kid. Sleep and pay me $200, then get out
  469. >“You know, somehow I doubt that.”
  470. >As he says this, he reaches into the backpack he was carrying and pulls out a bottle of vodka.
  471. >You smile
  472. “And I thought it was difficult for you to buy alcohol.”
  473. >”Swiped it as I left.”
  474. >Noice.png
  475. >You sit your arse back down, grabbing a shot glass seemingly out of nowhere
  476. >”You're going to drink It neat?”
  477. “What are you? Twelve? Of course I am.”
  478.
  479.
  480. >It's eleven O'clock
  481. >You've been drinking shot after shot for two hours now.
  482. >It might be starting to affect you
  483. >“I mean, if you died your hair blonde and wore sunglasses, you'd basically be Kazuhira Miller.”
  484. >Fucking drunk people
  485. “Who the fuck is Kazihura Miller?”
  486. >”He's a... Oh right, shit.”
  487. “Video game character? Fuck's sake Flash, I thought you were supposed to be a jock.”
  488. >“Don't tell anyone I'm a nerd.”
  489. >Man, he sounds close to tears
  490. “Calm down Flash, your secret's safe with me.”
  491.
  492. >It's now one O'clock in the morning
  493. >You've used up the crate you bought that morning and are now onto some Vodka you just bought from the garage
  494. “I mean, sometimes I forget it's gone man.”
  495. >”That must suck. To suddenly realise something so integral to you is gone.”
  496. “I still get Phantom pains, like, a feeling about something that's no longer there.”
  497. >”I get it too man”
  498. “Yeah man, I bet. But one day they'll uncancel Young Justice”
  499. >”Here here!”
  500. >Of course, your paraphrase what the two of you actually said, since at that point it's mostly barely intelligible moans and groans
  501. >At least you drank more then Flash, despite technically weighing less them him
  502. >I mean, you should, since your pretty in shape and, you know, missing some of your body
  503. >”Seriously though you mind if I ask?”
  504. “About my arm? Go ahead.”
  505. >”What's it like?”
  506. >Huh. That's a new one.
  507. “It's... It's like wearing a pair of socks with holes in them.”
  508. >”That has to be... The stupidest thing I've ever heard.”
  509. “Fuck you man.”
  510. >”Fuck you.”
  511. >The two of you grin as you lay down in the grass
  512.
  513. >”You know, you're an alright guy anon.”
  514. >Well, that was weird
  515. “I don't swing that way buddy. I'll never be drunk enough for that. Pokey maybe, but you?”
  516. >Flash laughs
  517. >”God damn your an asshole.”
  518. >You grin.
  519. >”I mean, once you get past the ridiculous amount of self loathing you have, your just a sarcastic pessimistic fuck who really can hold their liquor.”
  520. >That... Was unexpected
  521. “Ugh... Thanks? You know, I thought you'd be much more of an arsehole too.”
  522. >”You thought I was an asshole?”
  523. “Course I did Flash, I think everyone is a twat.”
  524. >”What's a twat?”
  525. >You burst out laughing
  526. “Fucking Americlaps.”
  527.
  528. >Man your head is fucking killing you.
  529. >Sunlight doesn't help matters.
  530. >Also, why the fuck are you outside sleeping on the grass.
  531. >You groggily sit up, which takes about five minutes given your condition and only using one arm.
  532. >You see Flash huddled in the fetus position
  533. “What fucking time is it.”
  534. >You here Flash vaguely mumble “Kill me”
  535. >You take a look at your watch
  536. >8:44
  537. >Oh shit.
  538. >You slap Flash in the face
  539. >”AGH! What was that for.”
  540. ”You brought your car here?”
  541. >”Yeah man. What...”
  542. “We need to go. Right now.”
  543. >Flash groggily sits up, looking at you, half tired half annoyed.
  544. >He looks at his phone.
  545. >His eyes widen.
  546. >”Oh crap.”
  547. “Yeah, forget getting washed, let's fucking just go.”
  548. >The two of your stumble onto your feet, almost falling over again due to your collective massive headaches.
  549. “All right. We can crawl towards your car.”
  550. >”Can you drive?”
  551. “I have one fucking arm Flash.”
  552. >”Right, sorry.”
  553. >It took the two of you three minutes to crawl on your bellies towards the car.
  554. >You clambered with great difficulty into the passenger seat whilst Flash had a slightly easier time climbing into the driver seat.
  555. >You grab a pair of sunglasses from the dashboard, and pass another to Flash
  556. >The two of you place the glasses on your heads, and it does a good job blocking your headache
  557. “It's three miles to school, I've got three quarters of a pack of cigarettes, it's really bright, and we're wearing sunglasses.”
  558. >Flash turns to smile at you
  559. >”Hit it.”
  560.
  561.
  562. >Your head hasn't moved from this desk all period
  563. >It's not comfortable, but moving it would hurt more then the crick in your neck slowly developing
  564. >That pink girl that's friends with Dash won't shut up, talking to the shy one in her friendship group
  565. “Pinkie, I will pay you one hundred dollars to be quiet.”
  566. >She didn't hear your strained mumbles and keeps talking shy girls ear off.
  567. >Fuck her
  568. >Fuck this
  569. >You need coffee
  570.
  571. >Period 2 wasn't much better
  572. >Fucking history was already boring enough
  573. >Trying to stay concious enough to get some work done was pretty fucking difficult
  574. >You look over at Flash, who is carefully staring at the ceiling, still with his sunglasses on
  575. >He looks over at you
  576. >You motion shooting yourself in the head
  577. >He nods
  578. >Glad we're on the same wavelength
  579.
  580. >The two of you decide to skip Period 3 and throw up outside school
  581. >Hangover=cured
  582. “Fuck me. That was awful.”
  583. >”I'd say never again, but we both know that that isn't true.”
  584. >The two of you sit down on a nearby bench
  585. >You offer him a cigarette.
  586. >He declines, and you light it
  587.
  588. >The two of you are slumped on the bench for a few minutes before you notice a familiar women walking towards you
  589. >Shit
  590. >Principal Celestia is standing in front of you, agitatedly tapping her foot
  591. >”Having fun you two?”
  592. >Well, there goes getting away with it.
  593. “Lovely weather we are having?”
  594. >Flash gulps
  595.
  596. >”I wouldn't be so annoyed if this was only your first time.”
  597. >Don't say that's what she said, that was awful
  598. “Ugh... Muh arm?”
  599. >Thanks sarcasm
  600. >”I'll get to you later anon.”
  601. >She turns to Flash.
  602. >”And you. Flash. I'm appalled. I thought you were better than this. I'm going to have to call your parents.”
  603. >You have to do something.
  604. >Flash looks absolutely horrified.
  605. “His truancy was my fault Ma'am.”
  606. >Celestia turns to you
  607. >She raises a single eyebrow at you
  608. >Is it weird to find her really attractive?
  609. >Think about that later Anon
  610. “I was feeling faint, and Flash helped me get some fresh air. I was having a panic attack.”
  611. >She keeps her single eyebrow raised.
  612. >”Yes, smoking is a well known cure for Panic attacks.”
  613. >And I thought I was sarcastic
  614. >”And you Flash. You agree with Anon's story that the two of you skipping class had nothing to do with the fact the two of you were clearly hungover this morning?”
  615. >Flash looks shiftily side to side
  616. >”Ugh... Yes sir.”
  617. >She rolls her eyes.
  618. >I want to fuck that...
  619. >”All right. I won't call your parents. And you Anon. After school detention. We don't allow students just to walk out of lessons without them notifying a teacher.”
  620.
  621. “Well that could've gone worse.”
  622. >”Dude, we could've been expelled.”
  623. >Man, Flash is such a dork. Who knew.
  624. “Calm down. You got away with it.”
  625. >Flash turns to you.
  626. >”Thanks man. If you hadn't come up with all that bullshit back there I would be in deep shit.”
  627. “I knew there was more than one reason I took Drama.”
  628. >The two of you very very lazily make your way back to class.
  629. >”Dude, I hate to ask, but can I crash again at your tonight?”
  630. >Fucks sake
  631. >”Sure man. Don't need another $200 either.”
  632. >Though $400 does mean another really good “I'm going away forever” present for Dash
  633. >Fuck you almost forgot that was this Friday
  634.
  635. >”Bollocks.”
  636.
  637. >Lunch time. Usually a time for solitude and glaring at people trying to sit at your table.
  638. >Instead, you've been dragged by Pinkie Pie to sit with the girls.
  639. >At least Flash is in the same boat, though I doubt he'd complain as much as you are internally
  640. >”And then Miss Mayor was an absolute darling and gave me some helpful tips with manifesto writing.”
  641. >God damn Rarity, I know your parents are from Idaho.
  642. >”Dude, you've hardly touched your food.” Said Dash.
  643. >You smile
  644. ”Not especially hungry Squirt. It feels as if my stomach is slowly devouring itself.”
  645. >”Yeah, Flash told us about you two's little drinkathon.”
  646. >You face palm
  647. >Fucking hell, now it's time for a load of “Anon, maybe you have an alcohol problem.”
  648. >”I can't believe you actually made friends with someone.”
  649. >She whispers this into your ear.
  650. >And man, that was fucking unexpected
  651. “I don't have friends Squirt.”
  652. >”And what are we then?”
  653. >Was it me or did that sound bizarrely hopeful?
  654. >I'ma going to ignore it
  655. “Duh. You're my beard Dash.”
  656. >”What? How am I you're facial hair?”
  657. >Fucks sake, your wit is wasted on people
  658. “It's a term about... Never mind.”
  659. >You go back to picking at your food.
  660. >One day School Lunches
  661. >One day
  662. >”You know Flash, you really shouldn't be drinking on a school night.”
  663. >Thanks Mum.
  664. >Wait, that isn't directed at you?
  665. >You look up from your made in china food to observe AJ playing Mother goose to another guy
  666.
  667. >”Thanks mom.”
  668. >Huh. Stupid minds think alike
  669. >”You almost got in real trouble. I mean, you wouldn't want your parents finding out.”
  670. >Flash turns to you.
  671. >Wait, did he not tell Twilight?
  672. “Hey, I talked him into it.”
  673. >AJ turns her mothering laser sights on you
  674. >”Why was Flash round your house anyway?”
  675. >Oh shit.
  676. >The entire table is looking at you as Flash frantically shakes his arms in terror.
  677. >You shrug
  678. “I needed help planning a party.”
  679. >As you see Pinkie's face light up, you realise what you just said
  680. >Oh fuck
  681. >”Thank god! I hate that I have to arrange everyone's birthdays parties every year. That's seven, sorry, eight parties a year!”
  682. >Wow. That was unexpected
  683. >Also, hang on
  684. ”There's six of you.”
  685. >”Silly Anon. We arranged your and Flash's parties as well.”
  686. >What?
  687. “I haven't done a birthday party in six years.”
  688. >”Well yeah. I had to plan just in case though silly.”
  689. >You had barely spoken to Pinkie since Rainbow introduced you to her when you were ten.
  690. >Even as a happy optimistic kid with two arms you found her a bit much
  691. >Now she's an unholy mix of a crystal meth addict mixed with one of those anti-drugs Assemby's
  692. >Though you are pretty sure she isn't a meth addict
  693.
  694. >Maybe Cocaine?
  695.
  696. “Sure. Hey Dash, want your Party round mine? My parents aren't round, so we can actually have alcohol and stuff like a proper seventeen year old should.”
  697. >Dash seems to be developing a blush
  698. >”You...You of all people are fine having loads of people in a space few have come back from.”
  699. >No. Obviously not
  700. >Fucking hell Flash, you better have $200
  701. “Sure. What's the worst that can happen.”
  702. >Can I take Relapse for 400 please?
  703. >”Thanks Anon. That actually means a lot.”
  704. >Huh.
  705. “Well, hey, don't thank me till it's happened.”
  706. >You are about to say more when you hear... Nay, feel a rumbling that had not been heard since the dawn of man
  707. >Something... Has awoken inside your stomach
  708. >Jesus, how much alcohol did you have last night?
  709. >More than Flash, that's all that matters.
  710. “I've got to go.”
  711. >You rush out, clutching your stomach with your one good arm.
  712. >Shit, you left your bag there.
  713. >No time.
  714. >You can make it anon
  715.
  716.
  717. >Be Six O'clock
  718. >Finally able to just crash in front of the TV
  719. >Flash is microwaving whatever he's having for tea
  720. >Fuck.
  721. >You have never arranged a party in your life
  722. >And apparently you can't drag Pinkie into doing it for you
  723. >Though given a Pinkie Party is still stuck in the “Pass the Parcel” stage of Party ideas maybe that's a good idea
  724. >You make your way into the Kitchen and lean against a work surface
  725. “Flash. How the fuck do you start a party?”
  726. >Flash turns to you and shrugs
  727. >Real helpful
  728. >”Dunno. Invite a bunch of your friends, tell them to invite their friends and tell them to all bring alcohol. Then play some decent music.”
  729. >Well shit.
  730. >Fallen at the first hurdle
  731. “And if I have no friends?”
  732. >Flash looks at you oddly.
  733. >”You have friends.”
  734. >Here we go again
  735. “Flash. I'm telling you. There's nobody I can invite.”
  736. >Flash looks quizzically into thin air for a few seconds.
  737. >”I have an idea.”
  738. >Oh this'll be good.
  739. >”You need some male friends Anon. You're a cool guy, you're just so god damn bitter that you refuse to try.”
  740. >God damn it. The point of this party is to cut ties with people on a good note
  741. >Fuck it
  742. >What's the worst that can happen.
  743. “What you got in mind?”
  744.
  745. “So you're the star football player, one of the most popular guys in school and you play in a band?”
  746. >”Yeah.”
  747. “The the band you are in has the stupidest band name I have ever heard?”
  748. >”What's wrong with Teen Satisfaction?”
  749. >That was Flash's friend Norman
  750. “That it's so... Boring?”
  751. >”Okay genius, what's a good band name?”
  752. >You think this over for a few seconds.
  753. “Dunno. I've never really been in a band.”
  754. >”Can you even play a musical instrument? Like, physically?”
  755. >Of course not flash, most instruments need two hands.
  756. “The Kazoo.”
  757. >Man, you couldn't have said that more dryly
  758. >You answer again a bit more honestly
  759. “I can play drums.”
  760. >The entire band, Which actually only consists of Norman, Flash and Berry Punch, stare at you like you punched them in the chest
  761.
  762. >”Really?”
  763.
  764. >”We actually lost our drummer due to lack of interest.”
  765. >You shrug.
  766. “I had to do something constructive with my time in the last five years.”
  767. >”... All right.”
  768.
  769. >It takes another twenty minutes to bring your custom drum kit from your house to the garage you were practising in
  770. >”Play.”
  771. >You crick your neck and roll your shoulder.
  772. >You pick up a single drumstick, no need to use the other in your mouth.
  773. ”Gimme a song.”
  774. >”XYZ”
  775. >You stare blankly at Flash
  776. “Something that can be played by mortal men.”
  777. >”Boston, more than a feeling.”
  778. >Fucking easy.
  779. >the others get ready as you lazily spin the drumstick in your hand
  780. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSR6ZzjDZ94&ebc=ANyPxKoKdQ5b-uM4ZBWvx_zioZMcSPO8BMCivbycGLhvroXx4vF5TJa2Yxx-o3AKuSc84T2EOs0vlqk72IGJHjekASWXx5OkgA
  781.
  782. >You're once again repeatedly spinning the drumstick in your hand as the others take a breath
  783. >”Fuck me Anon. You weren't kidding.”
  784. >”Jesus. You actually can drum.”
  785. >You smile cheekily
  786. “Not bad for a cripple.”
  787. >Flash smiles as the other two wince
  788. >Clearly not used to the jokes I guess
  789. >”Still think our name is crap?”
  790. >You grin.
  791. “Absolutely.”
  792. >”You want to join the band?”
  793. “Not if it's name is bloody Teen satisfaction.”
  794. >”Sure. But If we changed the name, would you join?”
  795. >You grin.
  796. “Why not? What did you have in mind?”
  797. >It's now Flash's turn to grin
  798. >”How does everyone feel about “The Phantom Pains?”
  799. >Oh god that's cheesy
  800. >Kind of hardcore though
  801. >You notice the other two nod their heads
  802. >After all, it's a better name for a rock band then “Teen Satisfaction.”
  803. >You shrug your shoulder
  804. “I can dig it. Do you kids still say that?”
  805.
  806. >By the time Band Practise is over, it's nine Thirty
  807. >You say g'night to Flash and lay in bed
  808. >Man your head hurts
  809. >Hope you don't get fucking Tinnitus
  810.
  811. >4:00
  812. >Fuck your sleeping pattern
  813. >For a few moments you lay in bed, staring at the ceiling
  814. >Why are we here? Just to suffer?
  815. >Ignoring that thought, you carefully sit up in bed
  816.
  817. >You begin the 45 minute task of washing and getting dressed with only one arm
  818. >By the time you are done, you look at your watch.
  819. >4:53
  820. >You grab a pack of cigarettes from yesterday's shirt. 12 left.
  821. >out of alcohol though
  822. >Time to go to the 24 hour garage then
  823. >You quietly close the door out, careful not to wake the sleeping Flash on the sofa
  824.
  825. >One bottle of Smirnoff and a six pack of shitty American beer later, and you're out of the garage
  826. >This is gonna be difficult to carry with one arm
  827. >Checking your watch again.
  828. >5:01
  829. >As you leave, you spot a familial sight
  830. >Squirt, making her way to the gym
  831. >She waves, and you roll your eyes as you make your way over to her
  832. >”Sup Anon.”
  833. “Sup Squirt.”
  834. >God she hates that nickname
  835. >And it's evident on her face
  836. >”You know I'm not your little sister right anon?”
  837. >That's two people in as many days that's said that
  838. “Sure.”
  839. >”And that maybe... Nevermind.”
  840. “As much as a wordsmith as always Dash.”
  841. >”Fuck you Bandit.”
  842. >Nice
  843. >”Wanna join me at the gym?”
  844. >You look down at your clothes.
  845. >A cotton shirt with one sleeve tied off at where the Elbow would be and the other sleeve rolled up, and a pair of jeans.
  846. >You've got some trainers on at least
  847. “Sure. Why not.”
  848. >Well, like a billion reasons.
  849. >Like you're not dressed for it
  850. >Like no membership
  851. >Like the fact that you only have a single arm!
  852.
  853. >Well you're here now
  854. >Currently on a treadmill
  855. >You used to actually do a lot of exercise, you'd be really slacking off recently, and just relying on eating less to stay in shape
  856. >The fact that you are running about 3/4s of Dash's speed may have something to do with It
  857. >At least she let you drop off your alcohol and change clothes
  858. >And the lady at the desk really didn't give a shit about your lack of card
  859.
  860. >Fuck me, how long have you been doing this?
  861. >You look up at the clock
  862. >6:02?
  863. >Good enough
  864. >You begin to slow the machine down
  865. >Dash on the other hand isn't accepting that
  866. >”Come on Anon. If I'm running you're running.”
  867. “If you make me keep running I will find my right arm and strangle you with it.”
  868. >”It'd be so weedy you'd barely get it around my neck.”
  869. >Fuck you
  870. >I'm pressing the speed option
  871. >I am not losing to Squirt
  872. “Try and... Keep up.”
  873. >You're a fucking idiot sometimes
  874.
  875. >6:15
  876. >Lungs dying
  877. >Phantom pain screaming in your right arm
  878. >Sweating from places you weren't entirely sure existed
  879. >Rainbow dash barely panting, her face just a little flush
  880. >God she's cute
  881. >Where'd that come from?
  882. >Can't stop.
  883. >If you stop first, that's admitting Dash is better then you in something other then juggling
  884. >You vaguely remember she's an actual athlete and that you're a mopy lazy bastard
  885. >You can't do this anymore
  886. >You rip off the thingy-abob that attaches you to the machine and press the cool down button.
  887. >She's won this one
  888. >As your legs finally slow down you breath in and out slowly
  889. >You lost.
  890. >To Squirt
  891. >The machine gradually comes to a stop
  892. >You step off the machine
  893. >Your legs are practically jelly
  894. >You make your way to a seat and watch Dash finally slow down as you gulp down a bottle of water
  895. >You were close
  896. >Or she was waiting for you to give in before finally calmly stepping off
  897. >Whatever, let's go with I was close
  898. >Less dignity destroying
  899.
  900. >You lay on this seat
  901. >God this chair is comfy
  902. >Is it legal to marry this chair in this state?
  903. >Better look that up.
  904. >You open your eyes to see Rainbow Dash in front of you, her face slightly flush, one hand on her hip
  905. >Down boy
  906. >”You're pathetic.”
  907. >Down boy.
  908. >Wow I really do have a type.
  909. “I try my best y'know.”
  910. >”Yeah. I know.”
  911. >That sounded a lot more melancholy then I expected
  912. “You want to grab something to drink?”
  913. >Dash's face goes a little more red
  914. >”I don't drink before school.”
  915. “For once, I actually meant water. I've devoured the bottle I brought with me.”
  916. >She laughs
  917.
  918. >Thank god this coffee shop is open at 6:30
  919. >part of you feel sorry for the staff
  920. >You look down to notice you're sill in a t-shirt and trackies
  921. >Whilst you're drinking black coffee, Dash is drinking that disgusting iced coffee crap
  922. >Liquid poison
  923. “Liquid!” you mumble under your breath
  924. >God you are a scatter brain at 6 in the morning
  925. >”You all right Anon? You're mumbling to yourself.”
  926. “What? Yeah I'm fine, just a little tired.”
  927. >She smiles
  928. >”Most tired lazy people don't get up at 5 in the morning.”
  929. “Four Dash. It takes me 45 minutes to get dressed.”
  930. >She looks away, but you don't need to see her face to know what's she's feeling
  931. >Guilt
  932. >God damnit, you told her enough times
  933. >Hell, you told her when you woke up from surgery
  934. >It wasn't her fault
  935. “Dash. It's not your fault.”
  936. >She looks your way
  937. “I know you don't like me joking about it. And that you don't like me withdrawing from socialising.”
  938. >You take a sip of coffee and continue
  939. “But what happened that day five years ago was on me.”
  940. >Dash looks shocked.
  941. >She's about to open her mouth to speak, but you have to interrupt her
  942. “Dash. I'm not going to change. I'm never really going to go back to that happy kid that used to play with you.”
  943. >You sigh
  944. “And... That's okay. I'm not your big brother. You said it yourself.”
  945. >You take a large gulp of coffee
  946.
  947. “Dash. We can't keep going on like this. You have to let what happened that day, and everything that happened go.”
  948. >She looks heartbroken,
  949. >You have to continue, for her sakes if not yours
  950. “Dash... I think... I think after Friday, maybe we should... maybe you should forget about me.”
  951. >It's like stabbing a puppy
  952. >An attractive childhood friend who could easily beat the everliving shit out of, but still a puppy
  953. >Attractive?
  954. >”What the hell anon?”
  955. “Dash. How often do you think about that day? How much does it hurt for you to see me... Slowly kill myself?”
  956. >Dash looks shocked
  957. “Because that is basically what I'm doing. Too much of coward to keep live, too cowardly to die.”
  958. >”I...”
  959. “I know what it's like. Every time I look at my arm, every twitch and itch I feel reminds me there's part of me missing. Gone.”
  960. ”Dash. You're a successful star athlete with a bright career ahead of her. I'm just some limey friend from childhood going nowhere.”
  961. >”You think so little of yourself don't you?”
  962.
  963. >Well duh
  964. >”You think you're just some friend I can toss aside? You think that I'm supposed to forget why you lost that arm!”
  965. >”I have nightmares about it! Nearly every night! Seeing you, laughing, being happy, that's the only thing that can help!”
  966. “Dash, those things are never going to happen. I'm not...”
  967. >”You're so full of horseshit. Just yesterday, you were buddying up with Flash. You were fucking socialising. You act all grumpy and depressed, and hell, maybe you are, but some part of you wants to be happy.”
  968. >I don't want to be happy
  969. >I want to be left alone
  970. >”You hide behind a mask of cold distaste, but inside you is that same Anon I knew. Who'd fight Big mac one day and go to the Arcade with him the next. The Anon who'd go camping with me when I ran away from home just to keep me company. The Anon who lost his arm to save me!”
  971. >Oh shit. She's close to tears
  972. >You haven't seen her this bad in years
  973. >People are looking around
  974. >If you don't break her heart now, it'll just be worse
  975. “Dash. I'm not the same anon that'd lose his arm for you. I'm... Just a guy.”
  976. >You see her begin to cry
  977. >You're not going to be able to salvage this, and you know this is for her own good
  978. >You get up, chuck a dollar tip on the table, and walk away
  979.
  980.
  981. >No one bothers you during first period, and you're not hungover for it
  982. >So a perfectly normal Physics lesson it is
  983. >I mean, Rarity keeps sneaking glances at you
  984. >Angry glances
  985. >But that's not your problem
  986.
  987. >Second Period. Now The yellow shy one is taking glances at you
  988. >Well, clearly they know about your conversation with Dash somehow
  989. >It was for her own good
  990. >God dammit, you need to focus on this
  991. >Math's first, drama hopefully fucking never
  992. >Well actually you like Drama class, but
  993. >You knew what you meant
  994.
  995. >You debate skipping third period
  996. >It's only English, you can miss it
  997. >Nah, Celestia won't buy some bullshit “Panic Excuse” a second time
  998. >Actually that may have been your third time using that excuse
  999. >You need new material
1000. >You make your way to class
  1001. >Or try to
1002. >A white arm blocks your path
1003. >You follow it to find Rarity's incredibly pissed off face
  1004. “Ah Rarity. How's things?”
  1005.
1006. >So turns out you're skipping third period after all
1007. >God damnit if you get expelled for this crap
1008. “So. Been talking to Rainbow Dash or something?”
1009. >”You never call her by her full name.”
  1010. >You shrug
  1011. “Just a guess.”
1012. >”For your information no. A friend of mine works at the coffee shop. Dash isn't even in today.”
  1013. >Oh crap
  1014. >Well, you should've expected that
1015. >”So. You're breaking up with Rainbow dash.”
1016. “Breaking up? I think the term you mean is cutting ties.”
1017. >Oh shit, that was not the answer she wanted
  1018. >”What. On Earth. Happened.”
  1019. >Well, now you're scared
1020. >If anyone was a secret psychopath other then Pinkie and that shy one, it was Rarity
1021. “Rarity. Look. The first thing you have to understand it that none of this is Dash's fault.”
1022. >”I bloody well know that Anon, the only one at fault here...”
  1023. >You sigh
1024. “I mean. None of This is her fault.”
1025. >You move your left hand to your right shoulder
  1026. >”Oh.”
1027. “Yeah. I could tell that seeing me like this... As a anti-social prick making his way to an early grave was killing her.”
1028. “If I didn't make her hate me, she'd keep hating herself.”
  1029. >”Anon?”
1030. “Dash is...Was my best friend. And she was just... Ridden with guilt. Still. After five years.”
1031. >”So you tore out her heart to save her from... Her feelings of guilt?”
  1032. “Terrible thing, Good reasons.”
  1033.
1034. >The two of you share some cigarettes
1035. >Almost up to fourth period
1036. >Eh, you can skip it
1037. “I mean, I've been friends with her since I moved to this country right?”
  1038. >”Sure.”
1039. “But ever since I lost my arm... I couldn't really keep doing that. I smiled at her jokes and occasionally supported her, but once she made friends with you guys there was no real reason for me to keep pretending.”
1040. >”But you did keep “Pretending” to be her friend?”
  1041. “huh?”
1042. >”Just yesterday you offered to run her birthday party. Last week you waited for an hour as emotional support for her first ever job interview”
1043. >”Hell, two months ago you stayed in hospital nearly 24/7 when she was recovering from flu.”
  1044. >Oh god.
  1045. >You stare into space
1046. “She... She did the same for me. I was just returning the favour.”
  1047. >Nice justification pal
  1048.
  1049. >Lunchtime
1050. >You're not on school premises, being in the cafeteria at the same time would be fucking stupid
1051. >You don't really need to eat anyway
1052. >Someone sits next to you on the bench
1053. >”So the girls are mighty pissed off at you.”
1054. “Sup Anon, how are you? Oh not bad Flash, same old same old.”
  1055. >”What did you do?”
1056. >You sigh. This is like the third time...
1057. “I did what I had to do.”
1058. >”Fuck it. Look, Anon, do you enjoy being an absolute A'hole to everyone you meet?”
1059. “Flash. I like to be alone.”
  1060. >Flash sighs.
1061. >”Fucking hell anon... Just... Fuck it.”
1062. >Flash is getting his wallet out.
  1063. “What are you doing.”
  1064. >He hands you $200 dollars
1065. >”Sorted things out with my parents. I'm going to grab things for your house and go home. Thanks for having me.”
1066. >And with that, he leaves the bench, and you, alone.
  1067.
  1068. >You're laying in bed. It's six o'clock
1069. >You've got some music playing in your headphones
  1070. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NOabk7Lt2E
1071. >Other than that, the house is dead silent.
  1072. >Nothing
1073. >You are completely alone in your house, just the way you like it
1074. >You slowly swing your legs out of bed and down the stairs.
1075. >Free to do whatever you want.
1076. >You grab a cigarette and light it
1077. >You can drink and no one will be there to stop you
  1078. >Or help you
1079. >You can play loud music on the drums for as late as you want, fuck the neighbours
1080. >No one will be playing guitar or singing with you
1081. >You can watch TV until the sun rises
1082. >And no one will laugh along
  1083.
1084. >You can lie in bed and just stare at the ceiling
1085. >You make yourself a cup of coffee.
1086. >You aren't hungry enough for actual food, and cooking with one arm is difficult
1087. >So you just stand there, leaning against a work surface, alternating between smoking and coffee
  1088. >This is the life.
1089. >This is what you want. Peace, quiet and Vice.
  1090.
  1091. >Be Anon
  1092. >Aged 6
  1093. >Total hours on a plane: 9.5
  1094. >Mood: Tired
  1095. >Scared
  1096. >Lonely.
1097. >You've travelled all the way from England to America, leaving behind extended family, friends and familiar locales
1098. >So whilst mum and dad unpack, you're sat in the grass on your new front garden
  1099. >You didn't have a garden in London.
  1100. >This is new
  1101.
  1102. >And this little cul de-sac sucks
  1103. >You're completely alone
  1104. >”Sup new guy.”
1105. >A girly voice trying to sound tough shakes you from your thoughts
  1106. “Huh?”
1107. >”So your the new guy huh?”
1108. >The girl with rainbow coloured hair just plonks down right next to you
1109. “Yeah. Just moved here from England.”
1110. >”Weren't those the guys that tried to invade us once?”
1111. >I think that's half right. Never covered American history in reception
  1112. “Probably.”
  1113. >”Cool. I'm Rainbow Dash. What's your name?”
  1114. “Anon.”
  1115.
  1116. >Be Anon
  1117. >Aged 8
1118. “I'm telling you, you can't keep running away from home ever time your parents find out you got in trouble at school.”
1119. >”Shut up. They aren't the boss of me.”
1120. >You roll your eyes, checking the tent is properly set up
1121. >You had nothing else to do this weekend, may as well spend it camping for the one day until Dash realises she's made a mistake
  1122. >Again
1123. “Squirt, you ever think that maybe you should stop trying to beat so many boys up? It really sucks to be beaten up by a girl.”
  1124. >”Pfft. You would know.”
1125. ”One time Squirt. Look, I'm in the year above you, I can't look out for you all the time. Why did you start punching Norman anyway?”
1126. >She looks away from you
1127. >”He... He said you were a faggot.”
  1128. >You roll your eyes
1129. “Because of the accent right? How does he even know what a faggot is?”
  1130. >She nods
1131. “Squirt, I can fight my own fights. I've got two fists for a reason. You... I'm not ungrateful or anything, but I couldn't care less what a guy a year younger than me thinks.”
1132. >Dash seems to be unhappy
1133. “Right, except you Squirt. Your opinion will always matter.”
  1134. >She smiles
  1135. >You smile back
1136. “So what food did you swipe this time?”
  1137.
  1138. >Be Anon.
  1139. >Be thirteen
  1140. >Hospital sucks.
1141. >It's cold, it's smells weird, usually someone is screaming in pain a few doors down, you're wired up to all these machines
  1142. >And you're now missing an arm
1143. >Your right arm too. Your dominant arm
  1144. >At least you have a visitor
  1145.
1146. >It's the first time Squirt has seen you since it happened
1147. >She looks absolutely depressed even as she walks through the door. She's obviously been crying
1148. >Luckily your bed is facing so that your right arm is towards the window, not the door.
  1149.
  1150. “Hey Squirt.”
1151. >You try to sound cheerful.
  1152. >”Hey Anon.”
  1153. >God she sounds miserable.
  1154. >And she's just standing there
  1155. “Wanna sit down.”
1156. >You point to the chair next to the bed, turning your body as you do so
  1157. >She gasps.
1158. >Oh. She saw it huh.
  1159. “Dash. Sit down.”
1160. >You never call her Dash. This is serious.
  1161. >She eventually does so
  1162. “So. How's everyone.”
1163. >She's clearly holding back tears
1164. >”fine. AJ and Big Mac wish you well.”
  1165. “Good. Good.”
1166. >”And um... And um. Mum and Dad said you can come round to dinner once you're out the hospital.”
1167. >You close your eyes and lean back into the bed
1168. “Good. Thank them for me.”
  1169. >She bursts into tears
1170. >Oh god. You can't handle crying girls.
  1171. >Squirt never cries.
1172. >You lean out of bed, ripping off some monitor thing attached to your chest as you do so.
1173. >And place one arm round her, placing your head on her shoulder
1174. >She wraps both arms around you, still bawling her eyes out
1175. >you stay like that for a few seconds when a nurse runs in, clearly you ripped off some telemetry thing
1176. >You shake your head at the nurse, still one arm round Rainbow
1177. >The nurse walks out as you whisper into Dash's ear
1178. “It wasn't your fault Dash. Don't... Don't ever think it was your fault.”
  1179.
  1180. >Be Anon
  1181. >Be Eighteen years old
1182. >Clutching a mug of Coffee in a death grip, a dying cigarette in your mouth
  1183. >Alone
  1184.
1185. >You place the coffee on the worktop and run a hand down your face
  1186. “What have I done?”
  1187.
1188. >You're on your seventh shot of Vodka
1189. >Three bottles of beer down
1190. >You might be slightly tipsy
  1191. >And fucking tired
1192. >Your head is on the table
  1193. >Unwilling to even move
  1194.
1195. >You wanted this. You want to drink and smoke your way to an early grave, and hurt no one when you go
  1196. >Sure, you're parent's will be obligated to care
1197. >But as long as no one else worried, or minded, it was all right
1198. >You had just been sleepwalking your way through life anyway.
1199. >Hell, maybe you should take the fast route out
1200. >Parent's aren't in town, you've said goodbye and burnt bridges with your oldest friend
  1201. >Can't be too hard
  1202.
1203. >A song comes on from your phone
1204. >You thought you had taken off your earphones at some point, or maybe your internal conversation you were having with yourself was too loud to hear other songs
  1205. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufoHY2Ja7No
1206. >You raise your head from the table
1207. >You've been looking at this whole situation wrong
1208. >It's not about being alone
1209. >It's not about trying not to hurt people
1210. >It's about trying to make them happy
1211. >To not depress them with your life, with your existence
1212. >But... you matter to people
1213. >You've pushed and pushed them away, but some part of you can't let them go
  1214.
1215. >You've got to set things right.
1216. >You've hurt your oldest friend, and pushed aside new ones
  1217. >No more
  1218.
1219. >A half planned, half awful idea forms in your head
  1220. >You've got two days
1221. >You reach for your phone, tearing out the ear buds
1222. >And hope to god that number is still there
  1223. >6:34-Monday 30th march
  1224. >You smile
  1225.
1226. >When you wake up, your head only slightly kills
1227. >You look at the digital clock by your bed
  1228. >7:30
1229. >Well, your sleeping patterns are improving at least
1230. >You quickly throw on a shirt, some boxers and sock and a pair of jeans
1231. >You reach for your mobile and call option three on speed dial
  1232.
1233. >”Canterlot High reception. If you wish to...”
  1234. >#1
  1235. >”For student absen...”
  1236. >#1
1237. >”Please record your reason for absence after the tone.”
1238. >You here a beep and begin to speak
1239. “Hey. I've forgotten I've got a psych appointment this morning, and I'm afraid without my parents in town I wouldn't get back to School till at least 2:00. I'm afraid I'm going to need to take the whole day off. Sorry for the inconvenience.”
1240. >You immediately end the call.
1241. >Time to get to work
  1242.
  1243. >You've never planned a party before.
  1244. >First things first. Alcohol
1245. >Garage wouldn't have enough, and you need somewhere you can buy in large quantity.
1246. >Usually it'd be tough to carry that amount, especially with one arm
  1247. >Luckily, you've got back up.
1248. >”I can't believe you dragged me from School to help you buy alcohol.”
1249. >You roll your eyes as you enter Flash's car
1250. “What excuse did you give?”
1251. >”Dead Grandma. Luckily she died before I was born and I'll never have to use it twice,”
1252. >As Flash gets the car started, you turn to him.
1253. “Flash. Thanks buddy. For doing this.”
  1254. >Flash turns to you.
  1255. >”What are friends for?”
  1256.
1257. >Enough Vodka to sink a Russian battleship
1258. >Enough cheap beer to start a frat
1259. >Enough wine for... Like four bottles, you didn't think you'd need much
1260. >Thank god everyone is super fucking lazy about asking for ID from a one armed man
1261. >And that no one wonders “How did he drive here?”
1262. >You clamber into Flash's car as he starts the engine
  1263. >”So where next.”
1264. ”Music store. We still got $40 left and I haven't got a good sound system at home.”
1265. >He nodded, and we drove away
  1266.
  1267. >”That'll be $75.99
  1268. >So that's a iPhone enabled speaker, a cheap stereo and a bunch of CD's
  1269. >Could be worse
1270. >You withdraw your debit card
  1271. >”You sure bro?”
1272. >You nod. This would be worth it
1273. >You type your PIN and walk out with the goods.
  1274.
  1275. >Last stop
1276. >Spend the remaining Forty Dollars on as much food as you can
1277. >”So I was thinking the Phantom Pains could play at your party.”
1278. >You're practically on auto pilot at this point
  1279. “Sure.”
1280. >”You do realise you're part of the band now right?”
1281. “I'll play one or two songs.”
1282. >”I can bring amps and such.”
  1283. “Whatever.”
  1284. >”Something on your mind?”
1285. >You remember what you had forgotton.
  1286. “Yes. Shit.”
  1287. >Dash's birthday present
1288. “Take my keys. Chuck everything in the van inside, I'll sort it out later. Leave the keys under the mat.”
  1289. >”Where are you going.”
1290. >You begin to take off in a sprint
  1291. “Haven't a fucking clue!”
  1292.
1293. >What in the hell would be a good present for Dash?
  1294. >Socks? Video Games?
  1295. >Out of the question
  1296. >Bollocks
1297. >You haven't had to think about birthday gifts in years
1298. >Usually you gave Dash the unopened Video Games you got from the one aunt who forgets you can't play them
  1299. >And that won't cut it
  1300.
1301. >Something takes your eye as you walk down the high street
1302. >“Just... Promise me you'll buy her something nice.”
1303. >Oh yeah. Something to remember you by
1304. >You walk into the shop
  1305.
  1306. >You awake with a start.
1307. >What? That took you all night?
1308. >You peel your face from what you were working on to check your watch
  1309. >7:00
  1310. >You smile
  1311. >Right on time
1312. >Once again, it takes 45 minutes to get washed and dressed, as well as shave
1313. >You're phone rings as you make your way out of the house
1314. >”Yo. Dude, you didn't pick up last night.”
1315. ”Yeah sorry, I was busy working on something. Thanks for dropping all that stuff at my house.”
1316. >”You need a hand setting up after school?”
1317. “Thanks, That'd be appreciated mate.”
1318. >”So, invitations have been texted. I've sent literally every student in the year the text. BYOB, as you said.”
1319. “Good good. And the girls?”
1320. >”that may take a little more work. I've told them quiet last minute party at mine.”
1321. “You got a car large enough to take all seven of you?”
1322. >”I can borrow my dad's jeep, so long as I bring it back before I start drinking.”
1323. “Good plan. Okay, so I've got to lie low today.”
1324. >”Yeah man, don't want the girls knowing what's going on too early.”
  1325.
  1326. >Well that went bad.
1327. >After first period, the plan of lying low fell apart
1328. >Mainly because a certain blue and rainbow blur threw you into an empty classroom
1329. >This is the last will and testament of Anon
1330. >You leave everything you own to...
  1331.
  1332. “Hello.”
  1333. >Great opening Anon
1334. >”Hello? That's what you have to say to me.”
1335. “Dash, I've skipped... Nine classes this week, I can't afford to skip...”
1336. >”What the fuck is wrong with you!”
1337. >Missing arm, Lingering PTSD, Depression, the fact you're a massive bastard
1338. >You vaguely remember making that joke before
  1339. >”Why weren't you in school yesterday?”
1340. >Now that was an unexpected question
1341. >You think that at least deserves a half truth
1342. >Let on too much and you ruin the surprise
1343. >Too little and you leave your friendship in it's current #fuckingRekt state
1344. “I was... Sorting some stuff out. I'm... Dash.”
1345. >You touch her arm and she flinches
1346. “I'm sorry. I really really am. I... I've not been a good friend. I tried to push you away under the guise of helping you, when really all I was doing was feeding my own self loathing and ego.”
  1347. >You sniff
1348. “I've... Dash. Do you remember five years ago?”
1349. >Dash looks puzzled as well as incredibly angry
1350. >”What about it? You going to guilt trip me into not thinking you're the biggest asshole since Genghis Khan?”
1351. >Someone's been doing their history homework
1352. “Five years ago, in that hospital bed, I was terrified. I had no idea how I would live without my arm. I was terrified I'd never have a normal life. That I'd be reliant on other people until the day I die.”
  1353. >You sniff again
1354. “I'd never be able to drive, or do a normal job as well as a able bodied person. I thought school would be impossible. I'll never play sports again. I'll never just go on a bike ride with my best friend.”
1355. >Dash looks curious at what you're going to say.
  1356.
1357. “I was so terrified of relying on other people... On you and my family, on my friends, that I pushed them all away. I was so eager to prove I could stand on my own I forgot that people don't always need to.”
  1358. >You smile sadly.
1359. “I forgot... To be me. I became this mask of self reliance and general “Leave me alone, I can take care of myself” that I forgot that I love hanging around with people. I enjoy being friends with people. Talking about... inane crap, just enjoying people's company.”
1360. >You hug yourself with your left arm
1361. “I..I'm sorry Dash. I'm sorry that I thought that you weren't a strong enough person to help me. That I was too stupid to realise I needed help.”
  1362. >You turn away.
1363. “this probably isn't enough, but... If 12 years of friendship, no matter how crap a friend I was, ended how it did two days ago, I'd never forgive myself.”
1364. >you begin to walk away from her
1365. >An hand cluthces you by the shoulder
1366. >You're spun around and land face first into her lips
1367. >For one brief moment you are horrible confused
1368. >The kiss ends shortly after you actually work out what's going on
1369. >She runs out of the classroom
  1370.
  1371.
1372. “What the fuck just happened?”
  1373.
  1374. >Oh shit
  1375. >Oh crap
  1376. >That's not good.
1377. >That...That makes a simple situation just a little more complicated.
1378. >You run a hand down your face as you lean against a desk
  1379.
  1380. >Be Rainbow Dash
1381. >Be in the girls toilet, punching the mirror
1382. “What the hell did I do that for!”
1383. >You've just made the worst mistake of your life
1384. >Anon finally opens up to you, finally admits he needs friends, that he still sees you as just a friend
1385. >After everything he's said and done, you still love the mopy bastard
  1386.
1387. >It was just before the accident
1388. >He was in the grade above you at the time, after the incident he was held back a year
1389. >Despite the difference in age, you two were still best friends
1390. >The two of you were sat in his front garden, just eating ice cream in the summer sun
1391. “You remember the first day we meet?”
1392. >Anon rolls his eyes, like the snarky bastard he is
1393. >”Course. I had literally just moved into this house.”
1394. >He runs a hand through his hair
1395. >”I was... I never told you, but I didn't actually have that many friends as a young kid.”
  1396. >You smile
1397. “You don't have many friends now.”
  1398. >He grins in return
  1399. >”Witty as always Squirt.”
1400. >God you hate that name
1401. >Sometimes you wonder if he sees you as just the kid sister he doesn't have
1402. >I mean, he usually doesn't treat you any different from his male friends in his year
  1403. >But... That's what you want right?
1404. “You ever think about the future?”
1405. >He turns to you, a quizzical expression on his face, before turning back to the road.
1406. >”Sure. I just don't know what I want to do with my life yet.”
1407. >He turns back to you
1408. >”What about you Squirt? Any ideas in that young head of yours.”
1409. >You honestly think this over for a few seconds
1410. >You never gave it much thought. You sort of just hoped things would stay the way they were forever
1411. >”I don't know. I just hope yo... My friends are there with me.”
1412. >He smiles, and wraps his arms around you
1413. >”I'd never leave you Squirt. You're too much fun.”
  1414. >Your cheeks glow red
  1415. >You smile back
  1416.
  1417. >Be Rainbow Dash
  1418. >Be Fifteen
1419. >A drunk sixteen year old Anon is lying in your front garden
1420. “What the hell are you doing?”
1421. >”Can't get in my house.”
1422. >God, he's slurring his words so badly
1423. “How much did you have to drink?”
1424. >he moves his arm off the ground to symbol something, before dropping his arm to the floor
  1425. >”Enough.”
  1426. “Enough?”
1427. >”People ever tell you your pretty Dash?”
  1428. >What?
1429. >Your checks begin to heat up
  1430. “You're drunk Anon.”
1431. >”Doesn't detract from... the truth y'know? All anyone seems to go on about is your sports accomplishments.”
1432. >He rolls onto his side so he's looking at you
1433. >”But... You're a good looking girl Squirt. You should find somebody that appreciates you.”
1434. >You look away to hide your blush
1435. >Fuck it, he won't remember any of this tomorrow
1436. >”Sorry... I mean, I shouldn't make fun of the fact you can't seem to get a guy.”
1437. >You're mood immediately turns angry
1438. “I'm not the one sat hear drunk of his ass without...”
1439. >”I don't get it though. Surely someone has to bite the bullet and ask you? Right? They can't be all scared of you.”
1440. >You aren't sure if you should be really insulted for that one
1441. “People ask Anon. I'm just not interested.”
1442. >A cheeky grin spreads across his face
  1443.
  1444. >”Into girls huh? Nice.”
  1445. >You slap him
  1446. >”Ahaha. Yeah I deserved that.”
1447. >Why is he only nice when he's drunk?
1448. “It's not that. It's just... The right guy hasn't asked.”
  1449. >Anon's face lights up
1450. >”So there is a guy? Knew you had it in you Squirt. Who is? Come on, I won't remember. Do I know him?”
1451. >God damn Anon, why are you so stupid
1452. “I don't know if you really know them anymore.”
1453. >”Well that's vague? So an old friend huh?.... Is it Big mac?”
  1454. >You smile softly
  1455. >”No, it isn't big mac.”
  1456. >He looks annoyed
  1457. >”Thought I solved it. Damn.”
1458. >He stares into space for a bit
1459. >You decide to lie in the grass next to him
1460. >”Whoever it is, don't wait too long. Guy's can be pretty stupid about that kind of thing.”
  1461. >Yeah no shit Anon.
  1462. “Thanks for the advice.”
1463. >He focuses really hard on a random spot in the sky
1464. >”One of us better find happiness.”
1465. >You barely hear him, but it cuts you all the same
  1466.
  1467. >Be Anon
1468. >Bell has just gone for Lunch
1469. >Apple Jack shares English with you
1470. >Which is kind of Ironic in a weird way
1471. >Checking to make sure the coast is clear, you grab her arm
1472. >”Hey!... anon? What are you doing.”
1473. >You let go of her arm and place a finger against your lips
  1474. “We need to talk.”
  1475.
1476. >The two of you walk until you're on your favourite bench outside of school
1477. >You fall onto, still somewhat in shock
  1478. >”Err...Sugarcube? Y'allright?”
  1479. “Dash just kissed me.”
  1480. >AJ's eyes widen
1481. >”Gosh darn it not now.”
1482. >You look at her quizzically
1483. >She rolls her eyes and sits down next to you
  1484. >”So...”
1485. “All right. There I was, spilling my heart out...”
  1486. >AJ almost does a spit take
1487. >”You? Spilling your heart out?”
  1488. >You sigh
  1489. “She deserves the truth.”
  1490. >Aj collects herself
  1491. >”What'd you say.”
1492. >You scratch the back of your head awkwardly
1493. ”That I... I need people. That I don't want to be alone. That I needed... her.”
1494. >”That... Might explain tha' kiss.”
1495. >You rub your hand down your face
1496. “Only if she had feelings for me. I destroyed our friendship on... why are you looking at me like that?”
1497. >”Oh boy. Anon, it's time you learnt about the birds and the bees.”
1498. “Jack, I know what sex is.”
  1499. >”You see, when a girl and a boy...”
1500. “Please stop. Is that what you tell Applebloom?”
  1501. >AJ cracks a smile
1502. >”Anon, Dash has fancied you since she were about 12.”
1503. >It's your turn to do a spit take
  1504. “What the hell?”
  1505. >AJ rolls her eyes
1506. >”Oh. I'm too tomboyish to admit I have girly feelings for my best friend.”
  1507. >Man AJ's falsetto is good
1508. >”Egh... I'm too manly and depressed and deep to look past myself for five seconds and realise a girl clearly loves me.”
1509. >Her impression of me could use some work though
  1510.
1511. “Dash... Dash isn't some blushing shy girl. If she fancied me she'd...”
1512. >”Howdy! Do you not think it's scary to ask your depressed best friend if he wants to date you? What if he sinks into depression? What if he needs a friend more then a lover? Plus, you know, Dash's phobia of failure mixed in with her overall guilt complex surrounding you.”
1513. >Man, AJ should look into becoming a psychologist
1514. “Let's say I believe you. Let's say Dash fancied me. Why the hell?”
1515. >AJ groans and clutches her head in both her hands
1516. >”Gosh darnit why do I hang around with you idiots.”
1517. >”Gee I don't know, maybe because you were her first friend. Maybe because no matter what you always try to put others before you, even if it is to feed your weird self loathing. Maybe it's because you're not that bad looking.”
1518. “I've got one arm Jack.”
1519. >”Oh I hadn't even got there yet. Maybe it's because your older then her by a little and that's attractive. Maybe because you've got that whole tortured damage soul crap people like Rarity read about in their romance novels.”
1520. >Sure. Just Rarity. Better hide my copy “Love in a time of Tuberculous” before the party tonight.
1521. >”Or perhaps, and this is just a guess, that maybe it might have something to do with tha' fact that you'd RISK LOSING YOUR FUCKING ARM TO SAVE HER!”
  1522.
  1523. >Oh shit
  1524. >That... Might explain a lot
1525. “Umm... I see you've put a lot of thought into this.”
1526. >”I've tried to set her up with other guys. Hell, we got all this information out of her at a slumber party like... A year or two ago.”
1527. >You grip your head in your hands
  1528. “Fuck me I'm stupid.”
  1529. >”Glad you're finally admitting it.”
1530. >You slightly slap AJ in the back of the head as you sit up in the chair
1531. >”So. What do you think?”
  1532. >huh
  1533. “huh?”
1534. >”What do you think about Rainbow Dash?”
  1535. >Well.
1536. >How do you answer a question like that?
  1537.
  1538.
  1539. >You open your eyes
1540. >You were sleeping on... a metal grate?
1541. >As you use both hands to push yourself onto your feet, you try to work out were you are
  1542. >”Anon?”
1543. >You look ahead to notice Rainbow dash
  1544. “Dash? Where are we?”
  1545. >You take a better look around
1546. >Concrete walls, abandoned pieces of machinery rusting away. If you didn't know any better you'd guess it was...
  1547. >Your eyes open wide
  1548. >Oh no
  1549. >Not here
  1550. >You breath quicken
1551. >You place your head in your hands.
  1552.
  1553. >You aren't here
  1554. >You can't be here
1555. >”Anon? What the hell is that?”
1556. >You remove your head from your hands to see Rainbow pointing at something behind you
  1557. >Slowly, you turn around
1558. >A hulking great humanoid beast, black as night, with one misshapen arm, leaking smoke stands behind you
1559. >It's red eyes settle on you
1560. >You're in a dream. Nothing can hurt you
  1561. “Run!”
1562. >You run, grabbing Dash's hand as you do so, running along the catwalk, just to get away from the beast
  1563.
1564. >You pass through a door, only to find more catwalk in front of you
1565. >Risking it, you take a glance at the beast
  1566. >It's gaining on you
1567. >You sprint, Dash keeping up with you easily
1568. >Despite her being faster then you, she isn't letting go
  1569.
1570. >You hear a scream of pressure being relieved from metal
1571. >Something grabs your right hand
1572. >You here the creak and snap of metal beneath your feet
1573. >Your stomach sinks as you fall though the air
  1574.
  1575.
1576. >You stop after only a few feet
1577. >You look up to see rainbow, holding on to your left hand for dear life
1578. >You look below, to the empty abyss, and the black monster holding onto your right
1579. >It looks into your eyes, with a burning hatred
  1580. >A familiar hatred
  1581. >Your hatred
  1582. >”I can't... hold on much longer!”
1583. >You try to shake the monster off your hand, try desperately to make it let go of your arm
  1584. >You know it won't let go.
  1585.
  1586. >You have a choice.
  1587. >Either Dash let's go, saving herself
  1588. >Or
1589. >Your turn to the beast.
1590. >It stares into your eyes
1591. >You know what is there
  1592. >Lonely. Vice. A familiar, dull pain
  1593. >You look into Dash's eyes
1594. >You don't know what lies in them
  1595. >It could be anything
  1596.
  1597. “Dash.”
1598. >She stops struggling and looks into your eyes
  1599. “Don't let go.”
  1600. >You relax.
1601. >The pain in your right arm is enormous
1602. >It's just like that day
  1603. >Five years ago
  1604. >You look down
1605. >Your right arm is crumbling to dust in front of your eyes
1606. >The beast is desperately trying to hold on.
1607. >But there is nothing there
1608. >It falls, further and further into the black
1609. >You look to where your right arm should be
1610. >And there is nothing there
1611. >You close your eyes and sigh
1612. >When you open them, you look up and help Dash pull you from the edge of the hole
1613. >You lay there, panting for a few seconds
  1614. >You turn to Dash
  1615.
  1616. >You awaken with a start.
1617. >God dammit, rest your eyes for one second and you start having...
  1618. >Was that a nightmare?
1619. >You look at your watch
  1620. >4:30
  1621. >And smile.
1622. >Time to prepare for this party
  1623.
1624. >Flash, Norman and Berry were busy helping you set up the band equipment on the “Stage.” Out in the garden
1625. >”It is supposed to be good weather tonight right?”
  1626. >You nod
  1627. >”Thank god.”
1628. >Flash looks at you and signals for you to head back inside the house with him.
1629. >You nod, then shrug your shoulders at Norman, who shrugs back
1630. >You make your way down the garden and meet Flash
  1631. “sup?”
1632. >”You sure you don't want to come with to pick the girls up?”
  1633. >You smile a wry smile
1634. “That's not for like, 2 hours. Trust me. I'm fine.”
1635. >The two of you walk inside. Past the table outside filled with food and alcohol.
1636. >Inside, in your sitting room and dining room, is one kickass sound system, and a clear space for a dance floor.
  1637. “My room locked?”
  1638. >Flash nods
  1639. >”Valuables hidden?”
  1640. >He nods again
  1641. >”Bought some spare buckets?”
  1642. >Flash laughs and nods
  1643. >”That's some forward thinking.”
  1644. >You smile.
1645. >You reach for your pack of cigarettes in your shirt.
1646. >You hold the box in your hand.
1647. >You chuck it on the table and follow Flash into the hallway
  1648.
  1649. >”Yo. You good”
  1650. >You get the meaning
  1651. “Yeah. I'm good.”
  1652. >Flash smiles
  1653. ”So, remember the plan?”
  1654. >Flash rolls his eyes
1655. >”Spend an hour there, offer to take the girls out to a restaurant, come here instead. Yeah I know.”
  1656. >You smile.
1657. “Jack already knows about this, so she'll help.”
  1658. >Flash grins
1659. >”Actually, I was talking to Jack after lunch.”
1660. >You turn, trying to hide the surprise on your face
1661. >”I'm glad you made the right choice.”
  1662. >You grin in response.
  1663. “So am I.”
  1664.
1665. >You're sat on the table, drinking a few beers with Berry Punch and Norman
1666. >Quick glance at your watch
  1667. >8:05
1668. >People are going to start arriving soon
1669. >Flash left about twenty minutes ago
1670. >”So I say to Flash “Cheeki Breeki iv nu damke!” And throw the baseball right at his stupid head.”
1671. >You burst out laughing, as does Berry Punch
  1672. >The doorbell rings
1673. >Berry tries to stand up, but you wave your arm as you get off the chair and make your way to the door.
  1674. >you open the door
1675. ”Yo, welcome to casa Anon.”
1676. >”Dude, I didn't know you even ran parties.” Said a boy and a girl couple whom you had no idea who they were
  1677. ”What can I say.”
  1678. >You shrug your shoulder
1679. >”Whoa! That is a lot of alcohol!”
  1680. >You smile.
  1681. >Oh yes indeed
  1682.
1683. >Currently you're talking to some girl named Trixie
  1684. >Apparently she's some kind of magician
  1685. >huh
1686. >Third person is a little weird though
1687. >”Trixie understands that 90% of all magic is in selling it to the audience. It doesn't matter how fast your hands are, how complex the trick, if you can't convince the audience to suspend disbelief for a moment, the illusion fades completely.”
1688. >Well, she knows her stuff
1689. “Most people I know learn a few card tricks then constantly flaunt them off to seem interesting.”
1690. >You point to some guy in a fedora trying to show off a card trick right there in the garden
1691. >”Absolutely. Trixie is a real magician though. Say, do you do anything... Dramatic?”
  1692. >You shrug your shoulder
1693. “Well I do actually do Drama at school. Oh, and I joined a band like 3 days ago.”
1694. >She seems rather surprised by this
1695. >”Wow. What instrument do you play.”
1696. >You finish off your Vodka and Coke
1697. “Drums. We are actually playing here tonight.”
1698. >”Drums. Wow. That must be difficult given...”
1699. “The fact I'm tone deaf?”
1700. >Your face has a cheesy grin plastered all over it
  1701. >She laughs
  1702. >”Ahah. Exactly Anon.”
1703. >Someone shouts “BEER BONG!” and you almost visibly see Trixie's ears twitch
1704. “Go ahead, I've got to make a call.”
1705. >She shoots you a smile as she leaves, shouting something about how the great and powerful Trixie is the best at beer pong
  1706. >You check your Watch
  1707. >8:43
1708. >You smile, telling people to arrive at seven did wonders for starting the party at eight
  1709.
  1710. “Flash.”
1711. >”Hold on girls. I've got to take this.”
1712. >Flash is speaking away form the phone, and you can barely hear over the music at the party
  1713. >”Sup dude.”
1714. “Party has started. The Phantom Pains need their singer.”
1715. >”All right man. Remember, I've got to go back and change car.”
1716. “I've got a table blocking a car parking space on the green out front. Me and Norman can move it before you arrive, and leave it there till you return.”
  1717. >”Good thinking man.”
1718. “What else am I here for.”
1719. >”All right bud. Shit, Twilight's wondering who I am talking to.”
  1720. >You grin.
1721. “Be back by ten young man.”
  1722. >”Yes mum.”
1723. >You can practically feel the sarcasm in his voice
  1724. “Later dude.”
  1725. >”bye mum.”
  1726. >That felt weird.
1727. >You hang up the phone and make your way to the garden drinks table to pour yourself another Vodka and coke
  1728.
  1729. >*1 new message*
1730. >You duck out of a game of President in your front room to go read the message
1731. >”Yo anon. Be there in five.”
1732. >nodding to yourself, you go to grab Norman
1733. >Eventually, after wading through the sea of people, you find him snogging Berry Punch
  1734. >Shit.
  1735. >You look around
  1736. >Shit on a dick
  1737.
1738. “Yo buddy. Pokey, you busy?”
1739. >”Sup dude? One guy seemed kind of cute but I think he went outside to throw up or something”
1740. >you grin. First one of the night
1741. “Can I have a hand lifting something outside? Got to make way for a car.”
  1742. >”Sure man.”
1743. >That's all a conversation needed to be
1744. >The two of you once again swam through the sea of people to reach the front door.
1745. ”All right man. We just need to move that table, wait for a car to come and put it back.”
1746. >”That's it? Darling, don't worry about. You go enjoy yourself in there.”
  1747. “You sure?”
1748. >”Anon, I can take care of this.”
1749. ”Sall right. Once the car goes you can come back inside.”
1750. >You nod your thanks and make your way back into the house
1751. >As you do so, you hear a cheer, and some guy passes you a beer.
  1752.
  1753. “I mean... I can't think why not. Sometimes I wonder...”
1754. >In the distance, past about thirty people, you hear a “Happy Birthday!”
  1755. >You check your phone.
  1756. “Sorry, Be right back.”
  1757. >*1 new Message*
1758. >it read: “Yo, Girls are here. Surprised that I took them here, but kind of glad. Luckily they were dressed for a party. Be back in fifteen.”
  1759. >Right.
1760. >you grab yet another Vodka and Coke.
1761. >You're first priority is to find Norman and Berry.
1762. >You make your way back inside the house
1763. >You notice the dance floor, and the music playing:
  1764. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOf6HzYjLDQ
1765. >Makes you feel like a real human bean
  1766.
1767. >You shimmy your way past dancing couples and that one guy pretending he was Russian.
1768. >You see the two of them, drinking beer and chatting to...
  1769. >Oh crap.
  1770. >Rarity
  1771. >Well
  1772. >Bite the bullet
  1773. “Sup.”
1774. >Rarity turns to you, checking you out for about half a a second before softly smiling
1775. >”I must say Anon, I didn't think you had it in you to run a party as packed as this.”
1776. >You smile in return, placing your arm over Norman's shoulder
1777. “We haven't even started the live music yet. You two sober enough to play?”
  1778. >They both nod.
1779. “All right, let's set up and tune. Flash will be here in about fifteen minutes.”
1780. >The three of you begin to make your way back to the garden
  1781. >”Anon. A word please?”
  1782. >Crap.
1783. “I'll be just a minute. Catch up in a bit.”
1784. >You wipe the fake smile from your face, take a breath, and turn back to Rarity
  1785.
  1786. “Sup.”
  1787. >”Sup.”
1788. >Man, if that is how silly saying sup sounds with an English accent you are never saying it again
  1789. “So...”
1790. >”So Rainbow seemed awfully flush today.”
  1791. >Gulp
1792. ”Really? Well she is turning Seventeen, it's a big day for her.”
1793. >Rarity gives you the biggest “Really?” Look you've seen on a human being
1794. >”Indeed. And Apple Jack joined us back at lunch after mysteriously disappearing and handed me $10. You wouldn't know anything about that?”
  1795. >Oh crap
  1796. “Haven't the foggiest.”
  1797. >Rarity expression hardens
1798. >”If you hurt her. I will find you. And believe me, unlike Pinkie and Flutters I know and have the means to get rid of evidence.”
  1799. >Well
  1800. >That makes things simple
1801. >You notice a spot of rainbow amid the sea of techni-colour hair
1802. “All right. I understand. Trust me... I know what I'm doing.”
  1803. >You wink
  1804. >You haven't the fucking foggiest what you're doing
1805. >You are just making this up as you go.
  1806.
1807. >A crowd begins to gather around you're impromptu outdoor stage as Flash walks on
  1808. >”What'd I miss?”
1809. >Flash tapped his mic, testing it was working.
1810. “Nothing really. We're ready when you are.”
  1811. >”Got the remote?”
1812. >You place the drumstick carefully down on the drums and pull the remote out of your pocket.
1813. >Man, this thing has good range.
1814. >The CD player outside is muted as Flash begins to speak
1815. >”Yo! Welcome to this kickass party!”
1816. >A few cheers and “Whoop!” sound out from the crowd.
1817. >”All right. First up, I'd like to thank the neighbours for picking a good day to stay the fuck out of town!”
1818. >A few laughs and claps. All right. He can work a crowd.
1819. >”Secondly, I'd like to thank our host for this evening, and our bands new drummer, Anon! For getting this party fucking started.”
1820. >You stand up and wave to the crowd, before shooting Flash a lazy salute and sitting back down
1821. >”Yeah that's right. One Arm Anon is our drummer. How fucking cool is that?”
1822. >You here a “Pretty Rad!” and “Def Leppard did it first!” from the crowd.
  1823. >Shit their onto you
  1824.
  1825.
1826. >”All right. Let's cut this shit out and get to what you've been waiting for. We are “The Phantom Pains” and this is “Jukebox Hero.” By Foreigner.”
  1827. >Noice. A classic.
  1828. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8v9kW4A16es
1829. >You bang out the slow beat of the drums
  1830. >You can do this.
  1831. >Sure, you've never properly played for a crowd.
1832. >But hell, you're approaching the end of Tipsy state and beginning “Comfortably drunk.”
  1833. >So it don't matter
  1834. >None of this matters
1835. >Godamn, these other guys are good.
1836. >You're pretty mediocre, but you've only practised with these guys once, and you know. The one arm
1837. >Norman can fucking rip up a guitar, and y'know, unlike you is a decent back up singer
1838. >Berry can kick ass on bass
  1839. >And Flash, well.
1840. >For a dude brah, he's got a set of lungs on him
1841. >You join in for the chorus
  1842. “Jukebox hero!”
  1843.
1844. >After that, the songs kept on coming, the crowd got bigger, the sounds got louder
1845. >At some point you had somehow removed the jacket you were wearing and got a headband tied around your head
1846. >Not quite sure how you did that with one arm playing the drums and the other...Well, you know
  1847. >Halfway through https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pw6_VXPwm6U
  1848. >You start thinking
1849. >At the start of this week, you were moping about wondering if you should drink before or after school.
1850. >You'd made an actual friend
  1851. >Joined a band
1852. >Let go of some personal baggage
1853. >Got drunk twice, thrice if you include right now
  1854. >Skipped a total of Ten lessons
1855. >Skipped an entire day of school
1856. >You notice a rainbow and blue shape jumping in the crowd
  1857. >You smile softly
  1858. >It wasn't over yet
  1859.
1860. >”All right! How you doing Canterlot high!”
  1861. >A big cheer was Flash's response
1862. >”Yeah! Let's not forget why we are all here today. Yo, Dash!”
1863. >Flash pointed to her, and you noticed she seemed to shrink just a little
1864. >She looked shocked and scanned the band
1865. >Eventually, her eyes fell into yours
  1866. >”Happy birthday!”
1867. >You mouthed happy birthday to her just after everyone else had got their cheers in
1868. >she smiled and turned away
1869. >All right. You know what you have to do once your set is over
1870. >You looked at the hastily copy & pasted tabs
1871. >Just one more song after this
  1872.
  1873. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lo2qQmj0_h4
1874. >You start the drums going
  1875. >you can do this
1876. >You watch as the crowd nod their heads along
  1877. >Godamn, this feels good
1878. >You stand up, continuing to play the drums
1879. >You've just got past the first chorus
  1880. >Things are going well
1881. >Flash motions for you to walk forward.
1882. >Dude, Drums are actually needed in this song
  1883. >He keeps motioning
  1884. >He comes to you.
  1885. >”Aarh you!”
1886. >You see where this is going
1887. “You shook me all night long!”
1888. >God damn, as much as you like your accent, you shouldn't sing
1889. >The crowd don't seem to mind though
1890. >Flash proceeds to go round the entire band, getting them to join in on the fun
1891. >You look across the crowd of people joining in singing
1892. >Damn, it feels good to be king
  1893.
  1894.
  1895. >Finally it's over
1896. >You spin the drumstick absent mindedly in your hand as Flash says his goodbye stuff
1897. >Surprised he didn't get RD to join them up on stage
  1898. >You narrow your eyes
1899. >Not sure you ever heard her sing actually
  1900.
1901. >You're brought out of your thinking by the last round of applause and Flash standing in front of you with a smile
1902. >You stand up, still spinning that drumstick
  1903. “One second Flash.”
1904. >You turn away from the house and chuck the drumstick into the crowd
  1905. “Let's go.”
1906. >the two of you make your way off the stage as a bunch of people help bring the instruments, including your drum set, back into the house for you
  1907. >”Well I don't know about you, but I need a drink.”
1908. >You almost can't believe what tumbles out of your mouth next
  1909. “Nah, I'm all right.”
1910. >Flash looks at you like he's seen a ghost
  1911. >Or you've just told him he's adopted
1912. >The two of you make your way back into the house, onto the makeshift dance floor
  1913. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDVW81bXo0s
1914. >Flash immediately makes his way to the drinks table
  1915. >Holy shit
1916. >Are we actually running low on Vodka?
  1917.
  1918. “What the hell?”
1919. >”I know man. We bought nearly $90 of the stuff.”
1920. “How many people are there here again?”
1921. >”Um.... I invited about 150 people at last minute yesterday. So... Probably about 90.”
1922. >There are ninety people in your house
  1923. >Fucking perfect
1924. >You realise what you have to do
1925. >You begin the arduous process of putting on a jacket
  1926. >”Where are you going?”
1927. “Grabbing more Vodka. Make sure the house doesn't burn down.”
  1928. >Flash smiles
  1929. >”No guarantees.”
  1930. >You grin back
  1931. >god you hope he's joking
  1932.
1933. >You finally once again reach the front door and have managed to get your jacket on
1934. >Quick look at the time
  1935. >10:32
  1936. >All right.
1937. >You notice it out the corner of your eye
  1938. >But ignore it.
1939. >You open the door and walk out into the crisp night air
1940. >For a moment you close your eyes, waiting for your headache to fade just a little.
1941. >Then step forward and open them, walking down the cul-de-sac
  1942. >You know... this isn't half bad
1943. >Sure, giving how much stuff is likely going to be destroyed come tomorrow morning, you'll never agree to host a party again
1944. >But... Maybe you should start going to these things
1945. >You've only got a few months left of Junior year
1946. >It'll be time to properly think of the future
1947. >you finally notice the running form towards you and smile softly
1948. >”Where do you think you're going Anon? Skipping your own party.”
1949. >Glad you had this jacket on
1950. “It's not my party. It's yours Dash.”
1951. >You slow down your walking pace so she can more easily catch up and walk beside you
1952. >”Then are you skipping my party?”
  1953. >She sounds a little annoyed
  1954. >”Never dream of it.”
  1955.
1956. >That's how the two of you found yourselves sat at a bench outside the 24 hour garage.
  1957. >”So...”
  1958. “Happy birthday Dash.”
  1959. >She blushes a little
  1960. >”thanks Anon.”
1961. >You smile softly back, then reach into your jacket
  1962. >To bring out a smallish book
1963. >God that made this jacket uncomfortably to wear
  1964. “I promise you, it's not a video game.”
1965. >You pass it to her
  1966. >”12 years?”
1967. “We've been friends for twelve years. Luckily, I was able, over the course of about 10 hours, managed to scrounge up every polaroid and digital photo of the two of us I could find. And compile into that book.”
1968. >You can see the tears welling in her eyes, and you have to wipe your own eyes
  1969. >Bloody sawdust
  1970. >She opens the page
1971. >First thing on there, a photo taken from behind of you and Dash sitting on the curb the first day you moved there
1972. >The two of you smile softly
1973. >Next is an image of you and her having a water fight, and you losing very badly
1974. >after that, an image of you, aged 8, her aged 7, hanging out in AppleJack's tree house with her and big mac
  1975.
1976. >She got onto one of the last photo's.
1977. >It's the day you got out of hospital.
1978. >You, Apple Jack, Big Mac and Rainbow are smiling at the camera.
1979. >You look gaunt, weak. But happy.
1980. >You've got your one arm around Rainbow Dash's shoulder, holding her close to fit all four of you in photo
1981. >Shortly after that photo, you began to properly withdraw from human contact
  1982.
1983. >You leave her alone with the book for a bit as you make your way into the garage
1984. >The nice Indian guy who is always there, even at 5 o'clock in the morning, is stood behind the till
1985. >”Ah. One armed man? What you getting?”
1986. “No cigarettes thanks. Just these.”
1987. >You dump two bottles of cheap vodka on the till.
  1988. >He nods and scans
1989. >You bring your wallet out of your pocket carefully
  1990. >”ID please.”
1991. >You look up and immediately stare into his eyes
1992. >His grim resolute expression soon turns to one of self satisfaction
  1993. >”Got you. That'd be $20.98
1994. >You smile and hand over the money
  1995. >Fuck that was close
  1996.
  1997. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dX3k_QDnzHE&list=PLc3CfHN41gQhY54ODLJ-A06IfHcGAX3VZ&index=3
1998. >You find your way back to the bench
1999. >Rainbow is still reading through the book
2000. >You're looking at photo's you only half remember existed
2001. >Which, you suppose, is what you get for doing this at 3 in the morning.
2002. >You sit down next to her
2003. >Just as she's looking at a picture of you asleep in a chair in hospital, next to a sleeping Dash in the hospital bed
2004. >Date of photo: February this year
  2005. >2 months ago
  2006.
  2007. “It's been a hell of a journey.”
  2008. >”Twelve years.”
2009. “Fourteen times you ran away from home. 4 broken bones between us. Five holidays together, been through two first days at school.”
2010. >You can't help but noticed you've been an idiot and sat on her left
2011. >”Eight times you've crashed at mine cause you were too drunk for your parents to see. 20 odd sleepovers between us.”
  2012. >You smile softly.
2013. “I wouldn't have traded it for anything.”
2014. >She can't help but glimpse at the missing arm closest to her
2015. >You place your hand on the space between you two
  2016. “Anything. Not even that.”
2017. >She places her hand on yours
  2018.
2019. “You know... I never got to reply.”
  2020. >”hrm?”
2021. >her face is only slightly tinged with red
  2022. >You lean in
2023. >She places her hands around your shoulders
2024. >Your lips fall into hers
  2025.
2026. >Even by the time you get back to the house, the party shows no sign of actually dying down
  2027. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYrh5h9acg8
2028. >Clearly Flash had gotten control of the fucking I-phone speakers
2029. >you and Dash slide pass the increasing drunk teenagers and eventually reach the speaker
2030. “Got a song you want on?
2031. >you randomly swipe up and down on your own I-phone
  2032. >She smiles
  2033. >You smile and nod
  2034. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTidn2dBYbY
2035. >You may not like the film as much as Dash does
2036. >But god damn this song
2037. >A nearby guy thanks you for changing the soung
2038. >Fucking Flash. How did he out nerd you?
  2039.
  2040. “Wanna dance?”
2041. >Dash looks at you like you asked her to murder someone
  2042. >”I can't!”
2043. >You grin and shrug your shoulder, taking a hold of her hand
  2044. “Neither can I”
2045. >You drag her onto the impromptu dance floor.
2046. >All right Anon. You have two left feet and one left arm.
2047. >Heh, no part of you is right.
2048. >Never say that pun aloud
2049. >You just awkwardly shake your body in time to the music
2050. >I mean, that's basically what everyone is doing.
2051. >Except for Pokey, who is fucking ripping the dance floor up
2052. >Sometimes you wish you had that kind of gay superpower
  2053.
2054. >Then you turn to the equally awkwardly dancing Rainbow Dash
2055. >Eh, not worth the sacrifice
  2056. >You spin around
2057. >You are still double left footed
2058. >Before even moving past halfway you trip over your own feet and fall backwards
  2059. >Right into Rainbow Dash's arms
2060. >You look up into her smirking face and grin
2061. “I'm sure there's some “Falling for you” pun I could make here.”
2062. >Dash laughs and pushes you back onto your feet
2063. >You complete the spin, refacing her again
  2064.
2065. >Everyone is looking at you
2066. >eh, I bet watching a one armed man dance is pretty funny
  2067. >You couldn't give less of a shit
  2068. >You don't even know their names
  2069. >Only one person's opinions matter
2070. >And she's as fucking awful a dancer as you are
  2071.
2072. >The song changes to some drum and bass song
  2073. >Not a fan
  2074. “Wanna go outside?”
  2075. >Dash nods
2076. >Anything to stop the two of you dancing.
2077. >She takes your hand and guides you through the sea of people
  2078.
2079. >Eventually you reach the patio, where mostly it's smokers and a few people throwing up in a bush
2080. >Fucking hell, this is why you brought extra buckets arseholes
2081. >You're tempted to bum a cigarette off someone
  2082. >But It'll pass
2083. >Dash notices something further up the garden and pulls you along with her
2084. >Thank god this massive place is lit up
2085. >Eventually she stops and you turn to look around to where she has dragged you
  2086. >Oh.
  2087. >It's her friends.
  2088. >What a surprise.
  2089.
2090. “Thought you guys were in the house?”
2091. >”Twilight and Shy needed a breather, and down here shockingly doesn't have a bunch of couples making out.”
2092. >Thank god. At least Applejack knows what's she's doing
2093. >She then turns to the fact that Rainbow is still clutching your hand
2094. >She looks at your face, and you raise a single eyebrow as if to say “Yeah? What?”
  2095. >”How's your guy's night been.”
2096. >Rainbow is still clutching your hand
2097. >None of the others have seemed to notice though, it is still fairly dark here
2098. >”Well... Flash is a little more drunk then I am.”
2099. >Heh. Poor Twi. I better warn him that she may be in a mood with him if he keeps drinking
2100. “None of you drinking anymore?”
2101. >”Nah. We don't want to go comatose like half the people here already.”
2102. >You take a quick look down the garden, only now noticing the trial of sleeping bodies
2103. >You're going to need a hose tomorrow morning
  2104. “Well. I guess there's still dancing?”
  2105. >Rarity speaks up
2106. >”Do not get us wrong! This is a great party. Just we are not the type to 100% cut loose, unlike half the rapscallions here.”
  2107. “The night is young.”
2108. >Rarity, quickly glances at Dash, then notices your hands, turns to you and grins
  2109. >You nod back
  2110.
2111. >You let go of Dash's hand and quickly shoot Flash a text
2112. *Whatever you are doing, head to garden and pay Twilight attention. Argument otherwise.*
2113. >It takes less then 16 seconds to get a reply
  2114. >”k bro.”
  2115. >Crisis averted.
2116. >”So what did anon get you for your Birthday Dash?”
2117. >Rarity turns to you briefly and shoots you a shit eating grin
2118. “I'll be in the house if you need me.”
  2119. >”Don't get too drunk.”
2120. >Dash smiles as she says this. Wonder why?
2121. >As you make your way back to the house, you past Flash
2122. >”Yo, thanks for the warning man.”
2123. >He holds out his fist.
  2124. “Anytime.”
2125. >You fist pump him back
  2126.
  2127. >Be Rainbow Dash
  2128. >Oh shit.
2129. >You've been asked “that question”
2130. >How much do you admit
2131. >Anon didn't seem shy about holding your hand in front of them
2132. >But.. Then you'd be admitting that Rarity was right
  2133. “Um...”
  2134. >”Sup.”
  2135. >Thanks Flash
  2136. >”Where have you been?”
2137. >”Helping out Norman throwing up in the bathroom. Anon is going to be pretty pissed when he finds him.”
2138. >”Oh that's strange. We were just talking about Anon.”
2139. >Rarity turns her predatory gaze back onto you.
  2140. >you gulp
2141. >”Darling. What did he get you?”
2142. >The entire group has turned to you. Even Flash seems interested in what you are about to say.
2143. “Um...Well. He got me... A photo album.”
  2144. >Rarity's face drops.
  2145. >”A photo album.”
  2146. >Wow, you've never heard a more dry statement.
  2147. >”Yeah...Y'know.”
  2148. >Flash's eyes widen.
2149. >”That's what he was working on all night! Oh that makes so much sense!”
2150. >You turn to Flash surprised, as does the rest of the group.
2151. >”Working on it... Wait, it's not just a empty photo album?”
2152. >Wow. Anon's not that much of a ass... Well, okay, occasionally.
2153. >You sigh and show the book to the group
  2154.
2155. >You open the first page, and right there is the photo of you and Anon with your back to the camera sat on the curb
2156. >You can feel your cheeks reddening
2157. >Twilight looks up at your face
  2158. >”Anon made this?”
  2159. >You sigh.
2160. “It's photographic proof of the last twelve years we've known each other.”
2161. >You flip to your favorite photo
2162. >It's the one of the four of you, AJ, Big Mac, Anon and you just after he left the hospital post Amputation
2163. “It was the first time he'd properly left the hospital, and he was still a bit shaky.”
  2164. >Jack smiles
2165. >”Ah remember. He challenged Big mac to an arm wrestle since “For once in my life I can't cheat.”. Man, Anon's an asshole.”
  2166. >You laugh.
  2167. “Yes he is.”
  2168.
2169. >You can't help but notice Twilight is incredibly deep in thought.
  2170. “You all right Twi?”
2171. >”None of the pattern of behavior I've seen of Anon would suggest he would do something like this. Especially not openly admit to being good friends with you.”
2172. “Umm... what can I say? He's learnt his...”
2173. >”And the fact that he did this so soon after he purposefully tried to tank your relationship? The fact that he went to all this trouble to set up this party? It all means something.”
2174. >You vaguely remember Twilight wasn't here when you had that sleepover two years ago.
2175. >Which meant unless one of the girls told her...
2176. >”And the fact that you were so eager to forgive him for it? Something must've changed the dynamic between you two...”
  2177. >Oh crap
2178. >She didn't know about the kiss earlier today either
2179. “Egh... I kicked his ass, and he learnt that he was wrong.”
2180. >Rarity is shooting you another shit eating grin as she crosses her arms.
2181. >”No. That wouldn't explain the closeness, plus wouldn't match Flash's statement of “Wow, that's what he was working on all night.”.”
  2182. >You gulp
2183. >”Man, you would not believe how much Norman can chunder.”
  2184. >Bad timing Anon
2185. >He places his arm on your shoulder and joins in the circle.
  2186. >”What'd I miss.”
2187. >Twilight's eyes widen to a size you're pretty sure isn't actually humanly possible
  2188. >”Oh...”
  2189. >Real subtle Twilight
2190. >Your face heats up like a thousand suns.
  2191. >”Oh..... What?”
  2192.
2193. >Fluttershy stops sleeping standing up and opens her eyes.
2194. >”Oh look. Anon and Rainbow are finally dating.”
2195. >The high pitch squeee from Rarity really fucking hurts
  2196. >”Oh shit congrats man.”
2197. >Why can't people be cool like Flash?
2198. >Also, never ever think that again.
  2199. “Anon.”
2200. >You make sure he's the only one that can hear you.
  2201. >”su... Damn, I mean, yeah?”
2202. >Oh god this is awkward
  2203. “Wanna head inside?”
  2204. >He smiles
  2205.
  2206. >Be Anon
  2207. >Check watch: 11:40
  2208. >Well. Getting late
2209. >You and Dash are making your way down the garden path
2210. >”So we heading back to the dancefloor?”
  2211. >Could do
2212. >Neither of you want to
2213. “I'm fine never dancing again if you are.”
  2214. >Dash nods
2215. >”Beer Pong ended like twenty minutes ago.”
2216. “If I have to watch Trixie cheat at card games for the twentieth time I'll scream.”
  2217. >Dash Shrugs
2218. >”So that leaves drinking more or...”
2219. “I'm fine not drinking if you aren't.”
2220. >Dash stops and you turn to face her face to face
2221. >Don't fuck this up Anon
  2222.
2223. “Well. Okay Dash. I've got some albums in my room we can listen too. Are you 100% sure you want to listen to some albums right now? Or shall we save it for another time? Once we both... have found our feet.”
2224. >Dash's face lights up red and she starts twirling her hair
2225. >So at least she got it.
  2226. >”I... I wouldn't mind listening to some albums.”
  2227. >You smile softly.
2228. “My room is blocked from the inside, so we need to climb through the window. Which means getting on top of the porch. You up for that?”
  2229. >she nods.
2230. >You take her hand and lead her round the side of the house
2231. >Climbing on top of the garbage bin, you grip onto the lip of the porch and climb your way up
2232. >You are now kneeling over the side of the porch
2233. >Dash has climbed onto the bin, but she's a bit shorter then you are
2234. >Laying down on your stomach, you hold your arm over the edge
  2235. “Hold on.”
2236. >She looks you in the eyes
2237. “Trust me. I can hold you.”
2238. >She nods and jumps, griping onto your arm
2239. >You quickly pull herself up, almost dislocating your shoulder in the effort. Luckily, it's still there
  2240.
2241. >The two of you sit atop of the porch for a few seconds, staring across the vast expanse of suburbia beyond your back garden, to the lights of the city
  2242. “Hell of a view.”
  2243. >Dash nods
2244. >For a few minutes, either to gain the courage to move, or to simply enjoy the moment, the two of you sit there.
2245. >Dash is the first to move, spinning round to crawl towards your window as she had done many a times as a kid
2246. >You smile softly to yourself
  2247. >You climb after her
2248. >”Still not locking your window?”
2249. >Dash has already pried it open by the time you reach her
2250. “Dash. Can I come inside?”
  2251.
2252. >You clamber in after her, almost falling head first onto the floor.
  2253. >Smooth as Ice Anon.
2254. >You take a breath and look around
2255. >Your Ramones poster is still there, your bed is still... Well actually, not made, but clean.
2256. >A couple of beers you had stashed on a shelf
2257. >Otherwise, the room is pretty empty
  2258. >”So... Um...”
2259. >you scratch the back of your head
2260. “Yeah... I have no idea. Um... I don't know. Maybe we...”
2261. >You aren't able to sputter out anymore stupid words before Rainbow draws you in for a kiss
2262. >For once, you aren't completely retarded, and you take part
2263. >It doesn't take long for her to find the off switch for your brain in there, even if she's not the best kisser
  2264.
2265. >She pants for a second, recovering her breath
  2266. >”Something like... That?”
2267. >You grin as you wipe your mouth
  2268. “Something along those lines.”
2269. >You begin to unbutton your shirt, desperately wishing you had two arms to hurry this up
2270. >She begins taking off her dress, revealing the tank top/gym shorts combo she had underneath
  2271. >She notices you looking
2272. >”I thought I was going to skip my party and go to the gym after.”
  2273. >You smile
  2274. “Suits you.”
2275. >Finally you get your blasted shirt off, before she leaps into another kiss
2276. >Whilst your hand is running through her hair, her hand is exploring your chest
  2277. >You weren't super muscular but toned
2278. >Oh, and at least had some chest hair
2279. >You move your hand from her hair to her tank top
  2280.
2281. >She shakes her head as she leaves the kiss
  2282. >”Anon...”
  2283. >Oh god, she's having second thoughts
  2284. >You shouldn't have pushed her into this. You're a fucking horri....
2285. >”We both know you aren't going to undress me with one arm.”
  2286. >She's smiling seductively
  2287. >Clever girl.
2288. >You know little Anon is also working now
2289. >You focus on your belt, almost ripping it off in your enthusiasm, before dragging your jeans down
2290. >She's already dropped the tank top and the gym shorts, revealing... Well, a hell of a lot
2291. >You notice her trying to hide
  2292. >You smile
2293. >You kick your jeans off, deciding that it'll be just too much effort to take your socks off
2294. >You walk towards her and plant your lips on hers
2295. >Whilst she moves her hands towards your chest again, you grab both of them in you hand
2296. >You raise them above her head
2297. >Gripping both her wrists in you hands, you move slowly towards the bed
2298. >You of course, realise that if she even remotely wanted you to let go there'd be nothing you could do to stop her
2299. >The two of you fall onto the bed
2300. >In a rush to get on top, Dash fails
2301. >You're kneeling above her thighs, her hands still above her head, on the pillows
  2302. >Her breathing speeds up
  2303.
2304. >You let go of her hands, kissing her on the lips
2305. >You place your one hand on her breast
2306. >a small moan leaves her mouth
2307. >Between you, there are only a few items of clothing left
2308. >Your socks, her gym shorts, your boxers and her socks
  2309. >Time to change that
2310. >You reluctantly take your hand away from her breast, kneeling back up and moving off her thighs
2311. >You take off your boxers, whilst she takes off her gym shorts
2312. >Briefly, you see her baby blue panties
  2313. >Those soon go too
2314. >The two of you are stark naked now, only your socks still on
2315. >you soak up the sight of Dash naked, her tough body, her fine ass, and her cute breasts
2316. >Puts your mangled corpse to shame
  2317.
  2318. >Your right arm itches
  2319. “Shall we?”
2320. >Rainbow Dash bites her lip in anticipation
  2321. >And god-damn, if that's not the hottest thing you've ever seen
  2322.
2323. >The two of you practically leap at each other with hunger
2324. >Your lips collide, and your hand travels up and down her body
2325. >One of hers entangles itself in your hair, the other is cupping your arse
2326. >She wraps her shapely strong legs against your hips
2327. >Her both her arms are wrapped around your shoulders, she's still playing tennis with your tongue
2328. >You know what she wants
2329. >Carrying her, you reach your desk
2330. >For a second you let go of her, wiping everything off the desk with your one hand
2331. >You placed her on it, so your now eye level with each other
2332. >For a moment the two of you separate, a trail of saliva between your lips
2333. >You reach into one of your nearby drawers and search around for what feels like an eternity
2334. >Finally your hand falls upon the object
2335. >You withdraw the condom and quickly set upon getting it on
  2336.
2337. >Your eyes lock with hers
  2338. “I...”
2339. >Bit early to say that Anon
  2340. >”I...”
2341. >That's all you need to hear
  2342.
  2343. >Your eyes open
2344. >The first thing you notice is that your vision is blurred by red, green and blue Strands of hair
2345. >The next is that your chin is resting atop Rainbow Dash's head
2346. >That both of you are completely naked
2347. >That your back is covered in scratches
2348. >You look towards the ceiling.
  2349. >Sounds like a bloody good night.
  2350. >You rub Rainbow Dash's chest
2351. >All right. You are here. You've just had sex with your incredibly attractive childhood friend
2352. >You've got anything up to 90 people randomly strewn across your house
2353. >You've got to clean an entire house
2354. >You've got to get enough money to survive on your own for another week
  2355.
2356. >You turn back to Dash and smile
2357. >All of that can wait
2358. >After all. If need be
2359. >You can always just ask for a hand
