This guide will consist of two sections.  The regular guide and the 'for now' guide.  The regular guide is the way you [b]SHOULD[/b] be able to get your code.  However, Huawei's servers are either not updated to support Mate 9 codes, or are somehow otherwise broken, and eligible people will have to follow the 'for now' guide, which consists of emailing Huawei's support in Chinese.

Note:  I suggest doing all of this in Chinese -- that's what I did, even though I don't speak Chinese.

---PREREQUISITES---
Make sure you have had your phone for 15 days, and that you logged into your HiCloud account on the first day you had your phone.  If you haven't created or logged into a HiCloud account, you'll need to do so and wait two weeks before you can do anything.  But go ahead and follow the guide anyway, because you'll get an error showing that you needed to have had your HiCloud account for two weeks, anyway.

---REGULAR GUIDE--- (Follow this first.)
Open your browser and go to [url]https://emui.huawei.com/plugin/unlock/index[/url]
IF IT ASKS YOU TO LOG IN:
(If it doesn't ask you to log in, skip ahead)
It might ask you to log in.  If it does, log into the same HiCloud account you use on your phone.  Choose 下载 from the top menu.  Then, choose 刷机解锁 from the page once it loaded.  It is next to the icon with the lock on the upper-right under the search field.  Then, choose the 打开 to the right of 刷机解锁.

Scroll to the bottom of the disclaimer, check the box next to 我已阅读以上条款并接受所有内容, and click on 下一歩.

You will now have brought up the interface to input your phone's information.
MHA-AL00 (if you have the Chinese model.  Otherwise, fill in your model)
SERIAL NUMBER (you can get this from settings, about phone, status.  Second from the bottom.  Mine starts with N8K7N)
MEID or IMEI (you can get this from settings, about phone.  If you have a dual sim Chinese variant, you'll have one MEID and two IMEIs.  If it fails, you will go back and try the other two.)
PRODUCT ID (Get this by dialing *#*#1357946#*#* it is the last item on the menu.)

Finally, enter the capcha code, and press the blue button which says   提交

ERROR MESSAGES:
Put your error message into google translate so you can understand it.  Here are the common 3:
验证码错误 The capcha is wrong
用于申请解锁码的华为云帐号未在本手机上登录超过14天！ You haven't had your account for 14 days.  In this case, please wait until you have had your account for 14 days, as you will not get your code.
请填写正确的识别码；请检查产品型号是否输入正确，如果是多IMEI/MEID手机，请使用其它IMEI或MEID重试  This is the error that people who are eligible for the unlock would get.  If you entered your information correctly and get this error, TAKE A SCREENSHOT.  Then, try other other IMEIs, and MEID, and take more screenshots!
您的解锁码为：The number after this message is your bootloader unlock code.  Congrats, you're done!

SO IT FAILED, NOW WHAT?
---'FOR NOW' GUIDE---
If your error was the 14 day error, don't bother with this.  But if you the '请填写正确的识别码；请检查产品型号是否输入正确，如果是多IMEI/MEID手机，请使用其它IMEI或MEID重试' error, you will be able to ask Huawei for an unlock code directly by email.

Don't waste time sending them an email without the information they need because they will reply to you with generic information.  Here's what you need to attach to the email:

1. Three screenshots of the web interface with your information put in correctly and the error showing.  One with your MEID, one with IMEI1, and one with IMEI2.
2. On your phone enter the code *#*#2846579#*#* and choose 2. Veneer Informations -> 3. Other info and take a screenshot of this, and attach it to your email.
3.  On your phone input the code *#*#1357946#*#* and take a screenshot and attach it to your mail.

I prepared this email body using google translate.  I'm sure the Chinese isn't perfect, but it will get the point across.

Fill in your information (they ask for it if you don't include it before they do anything, so best to include it all from the beginning) and all of your file attachments (screenshots of error messages, and two screen shots from phone).  Send the email to this following address:

Hopefully, they will respond with your bootloader unlock code.  If they don't, you'll have to use Google Translate to deal with them.  DO NOT EMAIL THEM IF YOU ARE GETTING THE 14 DAY ERROR, BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU.

Hopefully this helps everyone get their code.  I had to deal with them for two days before they gave it to me, but as long as you have your documentation in order, they might give it to you more quickly.

Look out for some more information later in the day once I've gotten home from work and unlocked my bootloader.  Hopefully I'll have lots of neat information to share :)
