  1. Glossary of On-Hit and Status Effects
  2.
  3. Affinity:
  4. A weapon with Affinity deals bonus damage! The damage dealt has a specific source, usually an Aspect, which the enemy can resist. A non-Aspect damage source will effectively be unresistable, and will be balanced accordingly.
  5.
  6. Apply Status Effect:
  7. A weapon with this property applies a specified status effect to an enemy. For example, a weapon with "Apply Status Effect: Time Stop" can appply Time Stop to enemies hit by it.
  8.
  9. Attuned:
  10. A strifer who is attuned is guaranteed to activate their Aspect's Heir ability, if they have it. Obviously this only affects Heir player characters.
  11.
  12. Bleeding:
  13. A strifer who is bleeding will lose a percentage of their maximum health AND a percentage of their maximum power every round. Bleeding wears off after a while, but may be overcome early.
  14.
  15. Boost Drain:
  16. A strifer with a Boost Drain aura will cause power boosts on their enemies to degrade over time and eventually disappear.
  17.
  18. Charmed:
  19. A charmed strifer has defected to a different side of the strife! Usually this will just be the other side, but in rare cases a charmed strifer may be fighting against everyone else.
  20.
  21. Disoriented:
  22. A strifer who is disoriented will not work with their allies as effectively as they otherwise would, lessening their teamwork value. They also suffer a very small offense penalty.
  23.
  24. Distracted:
  25. A distracted strifer loses one of their attacks. Note that most strifers only GET one attack, so distracted strifers often will not get to attack at all!
  26.
  27. Empowered:
  28. An empowered strifer has been empowered with a specific on-hit effect. Their attacks will apply that on-hit effect if they, er, hit.
  29.
  30. Enraged:
  31. An enraged strifer is less effective at defending themselves, taking a defense penalty as long as they have the status.
  32.
  33. Frozen:
  34. A frozen strifer has been frozen solid! They cannot attack or act, although the ice offers a small measure of protection.
  35.
  36. Fury:
  37. A strier with the Fury effect gains an additional attack every round.
  38.
  39. Glitched Out:
  40. A glitched strifer has a 25% chance of failing to attack every round. You may notice some other oddities as well...
  41.
  42. Hopeless:
  43. A strifer with the Hopeless status effect has become despairing and despondent. They only have a 50/50 chance of being able to attack on any given round of combat.
  44.
  45. Isolated:
  46. Isolated strifers have been separated from their allies, preventing them from using teamwork at all. Divide and conquer!
  47.
  48. Knockdown:
  49. A strifer who is suffering knockdown cannot attack as they spend the turn clambering to their feet. Weapons that apply knockdown work differently: The chance to knock the enemy over depends on how much of their maximum health you can deal in a single blow! Strifers who are knocked down may still take their non-attack action.
  50.
  51. Lifesteal:
  52. A weapon with Lifesteal has a chance to drain life from your enemies! Every time it connects, it has a chance to convert some (or all, for powerful weapons) of the damage dealt into health that is then restored to the wielder.
  53.
  54. Mellowed Out:
  55. A strifer with this status effect is less interested in attacking, taking an offense penalty as long as they have the status.
  56.
  57. On Fire:
  58. A strifer who has been set on fire will take a flat amount of damage every round. They may also start panicking, becoming distracted. Wouldn't you?
  59.
  60. Pinata:
  61. When you instantly slay an enemy, the game will place an inert replica of that enemy into strife in their place for you to smash up. Enjoy!
  62.
  63. Poison:
  64. A strifer who has been poisoned will lose a percentage of their max health every round. Poison wears off after a while, but may rarely be overcome early.
  65.
  66. Randomized Damage:
  67. A weapon with randomized damage will deal a variable amount of damage. The amount of variation can be large or small, and luckier characters will naturally get better results than average with a randomized weapon.
  68.
  69. Regeneration:
  70. A strifer with the regeneration effect will regain some health every round. What were you expecting?
  71.
  72. Shrunk:
  73. A strifer who has been reduced in size will find their combat capabilities weakened somewhat.
  74.
  75. Time Stop:
  76. A strifer who is afflicted with Time Stop has been frozen in time. They cannot attack or act in any way until the effect wears off.
  77.
  78. Unlucky:
  79. An unlucky strifer will find all manner of misfortunes befalling them until they are lucky enough to shake off the effect.
  80.
  81. Unstuck:
  82. An unstuck strifer is fluctuating between real and fake at the drop of a hat. Every round, they have a 40% chance to just...not exist until the next round.
  83.
  84. Watery Gel:
  85. A strifer who has the Watery Gel effect has had their health gel watered down. This makes it easier to dislodge their Health Vial from it! The strifer will take additional damage from attacks.
  86.
  87. ???:
  88. A strifer with this mystery effect will receive some other status effect when it expires. What could it be?
