  29. (3:15:40 PM) Charun: when you reach the last set of samples however the tests are different. This set was kept in cryogenic suspension.

  33. (3:17:25 PM) Charun: when examined under the electron microsope the sample seemst to be activly re arranging itself and regenerating additional cells
  34. (3:18:04 PM) Charun: however within 15 minutes of being unfrozen the sample dies and further processing reveals no additional information
  35. (3:18:41 PM) SeianVerian: Incredible... I probably don't have any way of examining whatever reactions are causing it to do that either.

  39. (3:21:16 PM) SeianVerian: Using the main lab would likely not be a good idea. ESPR may not be obviously involved any further with things around here, but they still exist. I'll need to talk with Will and maybe Adrien about this.

  50. (3:26:31 PM) SeianVerian: If he's not there when I arrive, I might start cooking up a fairly decent meal. It's not like I'm cooking for five people this time. Probably something involving a lot of meat, but doesn't require a ton of monitoring so I can do other things while it cooks.

  56. (3:31:43 PM) Charun: outside is a very unassuming man. He appears to be of possible welsh ancestry, only about 5'6" however when he looks at you his eyes flash almost a golden yellow hue and you feel a overwhelming pressure to avert your gaze

Your name was...?" ...I have no idea what else to say. I know he's the Marrok, but I don't remember if his name was actually mentioned previously.

  71. (3:48:58 PM) SeianVerian: "I made roast beef with some stew. Also some carbonara to the side. There's also bread and butter you can have with the stew, if you like."
  72. (3:50:37 PM) Charun: "That will be fine I will open the red wine then and put the white in the fridge." "So I understand you are a doctor of some reputation"
  73. (3:52:56 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah, yes, I suppose I am. I'm still fairly young compared to others in my field, of course... I tend to think of myself as more a scientist than a doctor, however. I'm happy to help people, and it pays the bills and more, but I'm more interested in research and learning."
  74. (3:54:10 PM) Charun: "Did your friends tell you about any of the specifics of the care my people may need?"
  75. (3:56:43 PM) SeianVerian: "Oh, but of course my medical prowess should be of more relevance to your, ah, people, than the rest, unless I'm to develop new techniques to assist them. Um..." I feel possibly far more awkward than I should.
  76. (3:56:43 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah, some. I know that silver is deadly to you, and its removal takes precedence over all else when relevant. They also tend to go into a rage with injured, I think it was, so I have facilities to confine them until they calm down. I would guess there may be more quirks of physiology to worry about besides those, however?"
  77. (3:56:59 PM) Charun: " I will make sure my son Bran comes along for the first one to come to you. He is a doctor as well and will assist you in how to treat our kind."
  78. (3:58:00 PM) Charun: "You are correct that silver is your primary concern. Although to be frank few people use it and more of my folk get shot by hunters and farmers than those intending to do them intentional harm"

  80. (4:01:06 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah, I see. I look forward to meeting him. ...Though of course not to the injury of one of your kind. ...As if anything I said could have implied that. Sorry." I seem to be very good at babbling.

  82. (4:05:19 PM) Charun: "No actually there are quite a few that wish to do harm.. There are those from the govt that hunt my kind although in the next few weeks our kind will become public knowledge"... he sits back in his chair. "Although i expect that this will warrent an increase in violence before it subsides. There is bound to be a great deal of fear around the knowledge that fairy tales are true! What do you think?"
  83. (4:12:26 PM) SeianVerian: "Well, few relatively speaking, of course... It's not as if there can be public recruitment of werewolf hunting teams."
  84. (4:12:26 PM) SeianVerian: In answer to his next question. "I think... Yes, there will be an increase in violence, which will require preparation for. People tend to lash out against what they don't understand or is different from them, even when it's nearly suicidal to do so." I shake my head.
  85. (4:12:26 PM) SeianVerian: "There are still hate crimes today over things as simple as sexuality, or skin color. Public reaction to something as major as this... There likely will be riots. Still... As difficult as the transition may be, I personally think that the truth should come out. Understanding these 'fairy tales' expands our breadth of knowledge, and perhaps even can lead to greater understanding of how the world works. It's a step forward."

  87. (4:14:42 PM) Charun: he sighs as he sits back. "yes I agree but the main focus for coming out into the open for us is to stop the blackmail of my people by groups such as ESPR. Lately their threats have been coming more and more often and are starting to threaten their normal families!" "This has caused 14 suicides among my folk this last year alone"
  88. (4:15:23 PM) Charun: "I am hoping to find a heroic individual who can come out as a were to help mitigate the effects somewhat"
  89. (4:18:39 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah... Yes, I recall hearing about that. I'm sure the pressure of hiding your identities must be stressful, and being blackmailed about it... Simply awful. With the revelation, that would no longer be a factor, and perhaps new groups might even form to help with other problems your people have."
  90. (4:18:39 PM) SeianVerian: "Hm, a heroic individual? Yes, if it was revealed that someone who is greatly respected was a were, that certainly would help... If they're respected quite enough, that would even gain some fanatics for your cause." The last part is said with a smile, and a slight laugh.
  91. (4:20:04 PM) SeianVerian: "...Oh, I should probably check on the roast now. It should be about done. Hold on a moment..." I stand up and walk into the kitchen, grabbing some hotpads before I open up the oven and get the huge pan containing it out. I get a fork and stick it into the roast, making sure it's finished.
  92. (4:50:37 PM) Charun: The roast is done and the meal is very good... You find out that the wine he brought is a 1892 french wine (probably a 5-6000$ bottle of wine

  96. (4:54:52 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah, yes, I would have expected. For the wolves, at any rate. That's how social order tends to be determined among their purely animal counterparts, so I wouldn't be surprised for those to carry over to the weres. Why?"
  97. (4:59:38 PM) Charun: he sits back "very true and even more so in the pack structure of the weres. You are not highly dominant so I will need to make sure that I send a dominant along anytime someone comes to you for treatment. They can order the injured were to comply with your requests where they would usually disregard anything you said since you will be below them in the pack structure."
  98. (5:01:46 PM) Charun: "now in the next few days I will have a shipment sent to you of basic equipment each of our treatment centers needs. Everything from large reinforced treatment tables to the more mundane items plasma and medical tools etc. You will find you do not need to suture wounds with us as they heal quickly."

  101. (5:08:20 PM) Charun: "I will arrange thru Adrian to have your workers install everything including the plasma refridgerator and the special tools for containment of silver around my people"
  102. (5:09:02 PM) Charun: "I will also include a set of silver tools for the fae. Deadly to us but the only kind that can be used on them due to the problems with cold iron."
  103. (5:09:53 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah, quite good to know. I'll need to be rather careful to make sure I don't get my tools mixed up, then..."

  106. (5:17:35 PM) SeianVerian: "Compensation? Ah... I'm not sure. I don't need an exceptional amount. Just enough to live decently, I suppose, after covering all expenses and such. Outside of money alone, anything that could assist my research would be very greatly appreciated, as that's my main concern."
  107. (5:23:51 PM) Charun: "That is fine I was thinking on the order of costs plus $10k per incident."

  112. (5:48:09 PM) Charun: he sits back for a moment.... "I would not usually expect more than maybe a case every other month or so but lately in this area it may be more often. You see there is currently a disagreement in the St Louis area between us and the vamps for who controls certain areas of the city. Usually this is handled thru negotiations but there is a new master vamp on the north side who is making things difficult."

  114. (6:42:59 PM) Charun: "Well if you can just help us swing the balance back in our favor and they see their targets are not dying we can keep this from turining into an outright war. If that happened I would have to bring in reinforcements from around the US and that is not the coming out I want!"
  115. (6:46:09 PM) SeianVerian: "I would certainly imagine not. ...What exactly is happening with that? Are they refusing to negotiate and going straight to killing, or just making unreasonable demands? Either way, it doesn't sound very intelligent on their part..."

  117. (7:42:28 PM) Charun: "No this particular bloodsucker is a independant. Free of the constraints of the rest of the vampiric association in the area. Luciella who is the mistress of St. Louis is not doing her job. She has entered a state of Topor and her seconds are using this time to settle old debts instead of running the City. Thus this upstart Stephan is able to move in and run things his own way."
  118. (8:20:22 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah, unfortunate... So it seems that this... Luciella, needs to be revived? Or, actually, what is this state of Torpor you mentioned?"
  119. (8:27:08 PM) Charun: "she was severely injured about a year ago in an altercation where she delt personally with a renegade master. To regenerate the extensive damage she was placed in a casket for a period of time to regenerate. I have no idea when she will wake up it could be tomorrow or next year."
  120. (8:31:41 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah, I see... So in her absence, the most that can be done is trying to get rid of... Stephan, you said his name was? It seems any other fixing would have to be handled internally, which wouldn't be an option for you... Oh, excuse me, I'm probably overthinking things I know too little about. It's not as if I could give you any useful advice or anything."

  122. (9:40:15 PM) Charun: About this time his phone rings.. The ring is a urgent bi tonal ring tone. Daniel answers "Marrok....... fine bring him here but Sien has not had his delivery yet so bring the emergency kit!"
  123. (9:41:35 PM) Charun: "Sien we have to move my people are bringing the alpha from the St. Louis pack in. He was shot at point blank range with a shotgun loaded with silver flechettes."
  124. (9:42:33 PM) Charun: "They say they all went in and none of them exited..... that means 20-30 little silver finishing nails all throughout his body."
  125. (9:44:52 PM) SeianVerian: "Oh... Oh dear. That's not good at all. I... I need to get ready!" Do I even have all my equipment that I need set up?

  129. (9:53:19 PM) SeianVerian: That's not good. "I really hope that emergency kit has everything I'm going to need... Either way, I'd better go make sure I'm as prepared as I can be. Bring him downstairs when he gets here."

  132. (9:56:42 PM) SeianVerian: I'll make sure all my tools are in order and ready to be used, make sure the space is ready to hold him when he arrives, generally be sure I'm as ready as possible to begin operating on him immediately when he arrives.
