  1. hello its kinoshita yuuka.
  2. Today I will be eating 10 portions of udon noodles made with wheat grown in Kyushu
  3. 1 bag (portion looks like this) so while we wait for the water to boil lets open these.
  4. alright 10 bags I'll drop them in the pot
  5. and the soup mix will go in as well
  6. alright they're done! .... So heavy
  7. (mumbling incomprehensible sorry)
  8. whoa it was close but it all fit in one bowl.. kinda amazing isn't it? and the pot is empty look
  9. all the preparation is finished the toppings laid out are: chicken. squash, potato, maitake (mushroom), eggplant TEMPURA, with tenkasu..... <uhhh tempura flakes? dough things....> also squid tempura and marutempura and egg. and green onion. and what goes well with udon? its inarizushi so I have 6 prepared here.
  10. alright here goes the toppings I really wanted to have gobo (burdock) root tempura as well but I couldn't find any, kyushu dishes are usually served with burdock tempura
  11. its done. oof so heavy, but it looks so yummy
  12. 5.8Kg <subtracting the weight of the bowl turns it into 4.9Kg?> and add to that the weight of the inarizushi
  13. itadakimasu looks so good... finally I get to eat. the package said these noodles would be nice and chewy <maybe stretchy is the right word for it>
  14. mmMMMmmm oh its definitely Kyushu udon noodles! they're so "YAWAI" which is short for "yawarakai" (soft) its 'totes' yawai. oishii! the tempura goes so well with it
  15. <*Slurp slurp* Translators note. it is polite to slurp your noodles in japan>
  16. ahh the noodles are so mochimochi <chewy stretchy> and its so yawarakai and tasty
  17. ahh its such a nostalgic taste.
  18. the maitake mushrooms are delicious the aroma is so nice
  19. so good I love udon noodles
  20. its the squid tempura
  21. the thing about the tempura is that it absorbs the soup and the tastes meld together so nicely
  22. and here is the egg tempura its a quail egg and there are 2 eggs in this one this is a maruten <I'm guessing its a Surimi fish? sorry I'm stumped on this one>
  23. this is the last topping and its a carrot tempura. I think it might have been the way I ripped the noodles out of their packets but the size of the noodles is kinda small
  24. I will add all the tenkasu. <the tempura flakes> mmm tenkasu goes well in udon
  25. the noodles are so short that I feel its easier to eat with a spoon kinda reminds me of macaroni
  26. gochisosamadesu! Kyushu udon noodles are very delicous! yes I do like the normal firm Udon noodles too... I like them both. it was delicious.
