FE:A Xavier Timelines

3 timelines
- Timeline One [normal timeline] - the timeline the game started with; Chrom/Olivia and Cherche/Frederick are endgame, Xavier remains single; Xavier kills Grima and does NOT reappear post-game
- Timeline Two [bad end timeline] - the timeline Lucina and the kids (sans Aster) came from in the normal game; Chrom/Olivia and Xavier/Cherche are endgame; Xavier succombs to Grima
- Timeline Three [Future Past timeline] - DLC timeline; Chrom/Xavier is endgame; Xavier succombs to Grima

- all three timelines play out the same up until the attack on Emmeryn at the castle (in two and three, this assassination was successful; in one, it was thwarted by Lucina)

Timeline Three
- Chrom and Xavier do actually stay together; Chrom holds his resolve and pursues a relationship with Xavier despite the associated stigma; Lucina and Iris (fMorgan) are twins born from a surrogate
- Grima continued to chip away at Xavier's resolve and eventually was able to take control briefly enough to force him to kill Chrom; horrified and distraught, Xavier is unable to fight off Grima, allowing the fell dragon to fully overcome his host's brain and take control; Xavier is so ashamed and grief-stricken that he can't regain control, even as he watches his family get ripped apart
- Lucina (who was closer to Chrom) is horrified and takes up the Falchion to combat Grima; Iris (who was closer to Xavier) stays by Xavier's side, in the hopes of pulling her father out of Grima's control, but soon finds herself being influenced by her Grimleal blood as well

Timeline Two
- Chrom shoves Xavier away, still kinda falls into his relationship with Olivia; never allowed to actually pursue a relationship, Xavier finds himself better able to shove down his feelings for Chrom and marries Cherche (though his feelings never truly disappear); has Gerome and Aster (fMorgan) (3 years apart)
- Grima is able to prey upon Xavier's love of Chrom and is able to use this to gain control; he promises Xavier Chrom's heart, and Xavier falls for it; Grima uses Xavier's body to torture Chrom, while Xavier is helpless and watches in horror; this eventually leaves him unable to fight back, letting Grima control his host freely

Timeline One
- Chrom and Xavier pursue a secret relationship shortly after Emm's attempted assassination; this continues through her death and the subsequent fight with Gangrel; shortly after (like a month and a half), Chrom abruptly breaks off the relationship because of mounting political pressure from his advisors (who demanded that he wed and produce an heir to cool the political climate of Ylisse); Xavier never fully recovers; he does NOT wed in this timeline
- Gerome and Aster (timeline 2) are distressed to learn that their parents are not together in this timeline; in fact, Cherche is wed to someone else entirely (Frederick)
	- Gerome is FURIOUS when he learns that Xavier is in love with Chrom; he suspected as much from whisperings of timeline two, but timeline one gives him hard confirmation
	- Xavier realizes that Gerome is in love with Lucina and tries to give him advice; Gerome immediately reels back with "Don't give me advice in love, especially when you're not my father.  Especially when you can't even find it yourself." and it's like Xavier just got punched in the face
- Grima from Timeline Two taunts Xavier about what happens in that timeline in an attempt to weaken his resolve
