  1. >It was getting close to 1pm on the Friday of Marco and Sabrina's movie date, and Marco was having an issue picking out what to wear...
  2. >"Ahh man...hoodie or no hoodie...that's the real question..." -Marco mumbled to himself, unable to decide if he should try and dress up a little, or just wear what he would on a normal day
  3. >Would Sabrina be impressed if he gussied himself up a bit? Flattered? Or just walk off in a huff, annoyed that he wasn't acting like himself? The sorts of questions he'd never had to ask himself before, related to his rather limited wardrobe, sprung up in his mind suddenly like Ludo and his minions used to do when he's first met Star
  4. >Speaking of Star
  5. >She'd been trying to take him shopping for some new clothes for awhile
  6. >But he'd never really had the time or interest
  7. >Perhaps that had been a mistake...
  8. >Marco decided to swap his hoodie for one of his Dad's extra collared shirts he'd given Marco a few months back and kept the rest of his clothes the same
  9. >No point in going overboard after all
  10. >Thank goodness he'd had a huge growth spurt this past year, otherwise none of his Dad's clothing would fit him
  11. >Would make Prom so much cheaper too
  12. >Checking himself in his mirror, Marco smiled and winked at himself, pretty happy with his "new" digs
  13. >"Looking good Diaz..."-Marco said quietly to himself, combing his hair back a bit
  14. >Just as he was finishing up, he heard footsteps on the stairs
  15. >He had just enough time to complete his combing ritual before Star burst through his door
  16. >"Someone has a date with a cheerleader!" -Star yelled in a musical tone as she prodded Marco with her elbow, winking at him
  17. >"Who spilled the beans? Was it Ferguson? I swear he can't keep his mouth shut at the best of times..."-Marco said while sighing
  18. >He'd hoped to keep his date with Sabrina somewhat on the down low
  19. >Mostly because Sabrina had asked him to keep it hush-hush, but also because she was skipping cheerleader practice for it
  20.
  21. >"Noooo...Hope told me. She heard it from Sabrina obviously, and I just wanted to congratulate you on finally asking her out! About time you made a move too, Hope made it sound like Sabrina has had a thing for you ever since you helped fix her and the other cheerleaders up after that cheering mishap months ago." -Star pointed out, still elbowing him and not sure when to quit
  22. >"That's actually when I started noticing her too...odd that." -Marco muttered mostly to himself, looking at the clock and figuring that it was about time to leave if he didn't want to be late
  23. >"Have fun "Safe Kid", you've earned it. Plus you two would make a pretty cute couple, if I do say so myself...which I do." -Star said while patting Marco on the shoulder
  24. >"Star, do me a favor and don't follow me this time? I'd like this to go off without any...magical hitches" -Marco pleaded, memories of his last fateful date attempt with Jackie coming to mind.
  25. >He could still hear the screams sometimes at night
  26. >"No worries Marco, Hope and I are going shopping in celebration of our besties getting together, so we won't interfere with your date, promise!" -Star said, while crossing her fingers with the hand she had behind her back
  27. >"Ok then, you two have fun, but I gotta go if I don't want to be late" -Marco said as he started down the stairs, waving at Star as he walked out the door and got on his bike
  28. >Once he was out of sight, Star pulled out her cellphone and started furiously texting Hope
  29. >After a relatively uneventful ride downtown, Marco made it to the site of part 1 of his dating plans for the night: The Cinoplex 20; the biggest movie theater in Echo Creek
  30. >As he finished locking up his bike, he saw who he thought was Sabrina, milling around in front of movie posters outside the lobby
  31. >Making his way over, he called out her name, and sure enough, the girl turned around, revealing to be Sabrina in a fairly cute getup, just a normal short sleeved t-shirt and a pair of blue jeans
  32.
  33. >It was the first time he'd seen her in anything other than her cheerleader uniform
  34. >In a way, it suited her very well
  35. >He found her adorable, regardless of what she was wearing though
  36. >"I see you beat me here, hope I didn't keep you waiting too long" -Marco apologized as he gave her his second ticket
  37. >"Oh, it wasn't a long wait. I live only a few minutes away, so I figured I'd check to see what other movies were playing, in case we want to see another one after or maybe next week." -Sabrina said hopefully, accepting her ticket and putting it in her pocket
  38. >Then the pair walked into the lobby to go pick out some snacks before the movie
  39. >Neither of them took note of the two figures wearing identical red hoodies watching them from a pair of oddly placed bushes near the entrance
  40. >Stealthily, the mysteries figures followed the pair into the lobby, staying back a way, trying not to be noticed
  41. >Having picked out some snacks and one large soda for the two to share, the pair walked down toward the theater with their movie, still being shadowed the hoodied figures, who had brought their own snacks with them
  42. >After Marco and Sabrina debated about it, they decided to sit near the very middle, while the hoodied pair sat two rows behind them
  43. >After some previews, the movie started in earnest, and it was a fairly enjoyable flick for all involved
  44. >Marco enjoyed the fight sequences, while Sabrina loved the touching romantic tale that was interwoven throughout the film
  45. >The hoodied figures enjoyed the film as well, thanks for asking
  46. >But they also seemed to be watching Marco and Sabrina as well as the movie
  47. >After the movie, the couple hung out near the entrance, talking about the movie and trying to decide what to do next
  48. >"I LOVED that last fight, the choreography was so well put together and shot, it was a beautiful thing to behold!" -Marco said while jabbing the air, copying the fighter's moves
  49.
  50. >"Definitely better than the last movie he was in, night and day difference if you ask me, and the CGI looked so good. But that kiss at the end summed up their whole relationship pretty well I think, what with all the stuff they had been through." -Sabrina said, lightly blushing as she remembered how Marco had held her hand in the middle of one of the chase scenes, then kept holding it through the rest of the movie
  51. >Oh yeah, after all that? They totally deserved each other." -Marco replied
  52. >Checking his phone, Marco noted that it was technically time for dinner
  53. >"Oh, ah...are you hungry Sabrina? I didn't have lunch, figuring we'd maybe...go eat somewhere before we conclude our night?" -Marco asked somewhat nervously, rubbing the back of his neck and looking at the sky as the stars started showing themselves
  54. >"I'd love to, what did you have in mind?" -Sabrina replied, grasping Marco's hand and giving it a squeeze, giggling as Marco jumped lightly at her boldness
  55. >"Aha, I...er...how about....oh, how about you pick? I picked the movie after all." -Marco said, trying not to appear too nervous
  56. >His plan was working perfectly so far
  57. >So perfectly that he was waiting for something to go horribly wrong
  58. >"Alright then...there's a great steakhouse that's pretty close by, we could eat there" -Sabrina said as she started walking that way, with Marco in tow
  59. >As the couple walked away, the two hoodied characters started following them at a safe distance
  60. >Within a few minutes, the couple found the Steakhouse and walked in, with the hoodied figures close behind
  61. >"Wow, this place is pretty nice, great pick Sabrina" -Marco said, eyeing the fancy furniture and the well stocked bar
  62. >"Thanks, my parents sometimes come here for their anniversary or for birthdays, and they never seem super busy, but their food is excellent and reasonably priced too" -Sabrina said as the two sat down at a booth and started skimming the menus
  63.
  64. >After ordering their food and a pair of Piña coladas (virgin of course), the two chatted some more about the movie, along with what was going on in school
  65. >They still didn't notice the hoodied figures a few booths away, also drinking virgin Piña coladas and being eyed by a few of the other patrons
  66. >After finishing their dinner, the couple made their way back to the theater so Marco could collect his bike and walk Sabrina home
  67. >Once they got to her place though, they kept talking, not really wanting the night to end
  68. >Eventually Marco got a text from mother, reminding him of his curfew
  69. >"I had a great night Marco, thanks for everything" -Sabrina whispered into his ear as they held a long, if not slightly awkward hug
  70. >"I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, I had a fun time as well....want to head to the beach this Sunday if your free?" -Marco asked as he biding for time, enjoying the hug and not wanting it to end
  71. >"I'd love to, sounds like a date" -Sabrina said, giggling as she quickly pecked Marco on the lips and escaped the hug, running to her front door as Marco recovered
  72. >"Night Marco! I'll text you tomorrow!" -Sabrina quietly said as she waved
  73. >Collecting himself for a few seconds, Marco smiled and returned her wave, then started heading home, pretty happy with how things had went
  74. >Halfway home, he was confronted by the pair of hoodied figures
  75. >"Hey guys, I've had a great night, and I'm low on cash, so...could you please rob someone else?" -Marco asked, tensing himself for a potential fight
  76. >The two figures looked at each other, then started giggling
  77. >Which just confused Marco
  78. >Pulling back their hoods, Marco was surprised to find that the two thugs were just Star and Hope, who were still having a giggling fit and needed a few moments
  79. >"What are you two doing out here? Hey....are those my hoodies!?!" -Marco exclaimed, confounded by the two girl's odd behavior
  80.
  81. >"Sorry Marco, we needed an earth disguise to blend in, and your hoodies fit the bill" -Star explained after her giggling fit ended
  82. >"Ok, but why would you need...Star, were you and Hope spying on my date with Sabrina?" -Marco asked, somewhat annoyed
  83. >"Yyyyeaahhhh...but it was for a good reason!" -Hope said
  84. >"Oh really? And what reason would that be?" -Marco said, miffed that Star had broke her promise
  85. >"Tell me Marco, did you wonder at any point during your date why everything seemed to be going sooooo...perfectly?" -Star said, grinning at the look of shock on Marco's face
  86. >"I did wonder that...did you use a mind reading spell on me Star?" -Marco said, giving Star an accusing look
  87. >"Nononono...I didn't, honest. But I did use a luck spell on Sabrina..." -Star said as Hope nodded in agreement
  88. >Marco realized what that meant
  89. >"That would explain the lack of accidents tonight..." -Marco said
  90. >"Yes it would! I knew you'd like it; just consider it...compensation for your last date, is all I ask
  91. >"And a group hug?" -Hope asked
  92. >"Oh, and a group hug!" -Star yelled as she and Hope latched themselves onto Marco, who was used to hugs but not from two people at once
  93. >Doesn't mean he didn't enjoy it though
  94. >After a few minutes, the three separated awkwardly, with Hope saying goodbye and heading home while Star and Marco headed back towards the Diaz house on Marco's bike
  95. >Getting home just before the start of their curfew, the two got ready for bed, with Marco thanking Star again for her help, to which she responded with another hug
  96. >Then the two went to their respective rooms and proceeded to text their friends about that night's adventure and tomorrow's plans before finally falling asleep
