  1. SETTING: The year is 1980, in an undisclosed location in east Europe.
  2.
  3. ???? (Recording): The Soviets are moving in on the hospital you have him stashed. The usual method will get him out, but only him. They'll already be moving on the hospital by the time they get up there. More than one pass of that chopper and they'll shoot it out of the sky. I'm working with them, already on site and embedded in the staff. He and I go way back, and I'll secure an escape method for his rescuers to ensure this isn't a suicide mission... But make no mistake - I'm not an ally or an enemy. It's vital I maintain my relationship with the Soviets. That's why they have to find me before they get him out and before my 'friends' start hitting the hospital; I don't break character.
  4.
  5. MILLER: That was a man who only identified himself as 'Adam'. He claims to be an old ally of the Boss and wants to help us keep him safe. We couldn't verify his identity, but intel did confirm that the Soviets have mobilized in the area and it seems an attack is imminent. We need you to hit the base fast and hard. Establish contact with Adam; he said you'd be able to identify him by a bandana. This has to be done covertly, he won't break his cover so you'll have to isolate him from other members of the staff. Secure the target and extract him via fulton on the roof. How much time you have depends on whether you leave the soldiers on-site intact. The less resistance the Soviets meet the quicker they'll be able to storm the place leaving no survivors. You're not equipped to take them head on, so consider that a fail state.
  6.
  7. MILLER: The target is on the top floor. The hospital has four floors, with a basement containing the backup generator. North of the hospital is the power grid, which can be sabotaged for a distraction but you'll have to take a trip below to make sure the lights stay off. On the south end is a small military camp also guarding the front entrance. The Soviet encampment lies to the east.
  8.
  9. MILLER: There's no shortage of options here, you're just pressed for time. Someone decent at disguise could probably get in and get the soldiers to reinforce ground floor better to prepare for the oncoming attack. Once in, you could sabotage the backup generator while the rest of the team takes out the power grid. Adam wanted to be close to Boss, so he's probably on the third or fourth floor. He also mentioned that the local military might have a high ranked special soldier meaning you might have to deal with him next.
  10.
  11. MILLER: You'll enter on the west end of the complex. There's a dense forest so you'll be well hidden as you plan your first move. We'll have eyes on the east and keep you up to date on the movements of the Soviets, but the local troops are your concern. Good luck.

  14.
  15. Ocelot is on the third floor, he gives the team fake death pills. Soviets begin their attack on the ground floor once the players reach the floor Snake is on. how long it takes for them to clear the hospital depends on whether players killed or just knocked out the local soldiers, and whether they were alerted to anyone's presence. there's a boss/XOF encounter on the roof, once Snake is out players take their death pills and Ocelot snatches their body bags before they get tossed in a burn pile.
  16.
  17. espionage characters have different options, they could disguise themselves as part of the hospital staff and establish contact with Ocelot while the rest of the team works on getting the pieces in play for their assault. they could disguise themselves as soldier and a tech/gadget savvy party member could forge a document for them so all the soldiers move to reinforce the front of the building, meaning the team only has to avoid alerting the staff. they could also stage a false flag on the nearby Soviet camp and trigger the attack early, descending everything into total chaos. that would also probably lure the boss character off the roof, but Ocelot may have his own tasks to accomplish once the attack begins meaning players will need to find an alternative way out of the hospital, or even find themselves fruitlessly fighting him. they could also split up, some team mates work on getting Snake while the rest do what they can to slow the Soviet invasion. the forces should be so numerous though that actually fighting them isn't an option, only slowing them down.
  18.
  19. ultimately whoever's running just has to keep it open, these are ideas and players may forgo the mission parameters and hijack a tank or something. as long as Snake gets out alive and well and players aren't cornered by more soldiers than they can handle it should be alright.
