  3. Artificial planet that's hollow, about as large as Mars. Area between hollow insides and the crust is 3 miles thick, with most of the automated engineering keeping the planet functioning going on here.

  5. In the center of Nous Vatriae is an artificial sun. Created/sustained by nuclear fusion and contained within a spherical electromagnetic field which gives it shape. A semi-translucent silicon type metal also surrounds the fake sun in a spherical cast, bending the light do that heat and illumination is equally transferred and that it appears like day. At night they simply increase the number of these silicon like sheets.

  7. The people of this world, the Erenauts were previously imprisoned aboard a generation ship by a rogue AI. They've evolved slimmer, taller bodies and while physically weaker, they've evolved higher mental functions and brain computation power. They have light greyish skin that is smooth and blemish-less while they usually have brown, grey or blue eyes. Hair comes in all different natural shades, and they have thin lips and big eyes. They can grow facial hair, but many do not.

  9. They evolved a new, rather small section of the brain that sends and receive electrical brain signals allowing for shared thoughts, memories, emotions and physical stimuli. They're only able to use it in short distances and for short periods (most can only activate in when physically touching and for at most 30 minutes.) for these reasons, social interaction and relationships are a very important aspect of their culture.

  13. Politically speaking, the Serenia Signora is the supreme administrative body within Nous Vatriae. Comprised of fifteen men whom in turn elect a sovereign "Serr Doge".

To be eligible for candidacy for the Serenia Signora, one must be older than the age of fifty, letters documenting their skills and qualifications from reputable/influential sources, a masters degree or higher as well as five years experience in government. Enough money to back your campaign is also a good decider.

  17. The Serr Doge is elected for life along with the Serenia Signora position being ten years, then total rotation. To be eligible for potential ascension to the Serr Doge spot, bedsides the Serenia Signora qualifications, one must also have been a "Serr Caerich" (Councilmen of the SS) and a proven link/documentation connecting then to one of the 12 original families (Tersa Familia).

The Serr Doge takes a pledge after election, along with the Serenia Signora that bonds them to the Tersa Verto (Original Word), a set of laws that bind the two entities so that they may not act on matters without the others approval. Compare: Constitution. It is often seen by the common man that the seats of Serr Doge and the Serenia Signora are unachievable due to how things are setup and the lack of opportunities for families and people not born into the upper echelon.

  21. Under the SS and the Serr Doge are the many branches of government that handle the flowing stability of Nous Vatriae. These include the Archon Dey Diplomus, Archon Dey Coin, Archon Dey Maras, Archon Dey Somn and Archon Dey Utrae. (Diplomacy, Commerce, War, Internal Affairs and Culture).

  23. Nous Vatriae is a budding flower, culturally speaking. Having only been free from the mind numbing life of the generation ship for a mere 175 years, they are somewhat stunted. However it can be considered a cultural boomtime for them as they experiment with all facets of life. Music, art, dance, song, intellectualism and literature have recently become some of the most important things in the life of the Erenauts. Incorporating the synthetic world around them, many artists and cultural savants hold a deep love and curiosity for space and the cosmos. Indeed, an Erenaut is nothing without the stars.

  25. Many Errnauts are well versed in intellectual topics, and very open minded and naturally curious. However they are shallow and vain, enjoying the aesthetic beauty of life (many Type-0s on the other hand appreciate the emotional and spiritual side of companionship). Many are needlessly cruel to those they find inferior and live a impulsive, reckless and hedonistic lifestyle. Perhaps it was their former life that has made them indulgent, but they are truly masters of pride, excess and gluttonous consumption.

Many now enter the world screaming, yearning for space and adventure to sate their ravenous curiosity.   34. FTL works by emitting an electromagnetic pulse waves onto a point in space and using the solar sails to ride the cosmic gasses and winds of this alternative dimension, emitting another pulse wave at the coordinates they wished to exit at.

  64. Ships are separated into four categorizes based on the amount of energy they require. The scale goes from the highest, Type-4, to the lowest, Type-1. Many personal/civilian vessels fall into the 1 and 2 types. The average crew size (military escort/trade ships) is 15-30 members per kiloton. Civilian ships average 15-20. Crew include engineers, pilots, medics and other officials. Organization changes ship to ship on civilian and trade vessels. Military command is centralized.

Light reflective armor can be used to add protection in case of an attack.   74. Diametrical drive is the modern style of interplanetary space propulsion. The method involves a gravitational field with a non-zero curl. Pressure would build due to the opposing gravitational forces, propelling the ship forward.

  76. An analogy would be to imagine to forces pushing against each other,, such as when two opposing magnets are close by. Force is the crates by product, thus movement. FTL works by a mass driver system in which the opposing forces created in the diametrical drive are slammed together forcefully to create a powerful burst of force, propelling the craft through space to its desired location. (The force literally punches through space, I.E wormhole).

A large edifice, the ship enters through the back and communicates its desired location to the coilgun crew. A stasis field created by dense artificial gravitational force suspends and preserves the crew, while also giving the ship mass, making it heavier. The coilgun then retracts magnetically and then is released by a property similar to the diametric drive. Sails are deployed to keep the vessel moving. Inertia damper.

  84. Stands ten-fifteen feet high with stocky legs and arms. Head is like a Zaku: One large eye with a 360-degree view. Metallic body, cockpit located in the chest and partially in the head. Two large oxygen tanks located on both shoulders (space variant). Joints are coated in a magnetized liquid so as to give then increased, human-like movement. Battery pack in between oxygen tanks give 45m-1h reserve power; for most efficient use, a power cord is attached, connecting the AMP to a generator.

If controlled by a pilot, the man is trapped to the back, his legs, arm and head free.   96. Most space vessels are armed with kinetic weaponry. Similar to artillery, they use miniaturized versions of the coilgun to smash rod-like spears with an explosive warhead. Warheads may also be filled with nano machines that eat away at the hull of the enemy ship.

  98. While that is the most common type of weapon system, rapid fired explosive rods may also be used. AMPS may, and this is in rare occasions, arm themselves with large, mirrored high powered lasers that cut through the enemy. However this uses a large amount of energy and range is an important factor.

  100. Side arms are essentially more advanced versions of today's guns. Many have different settings, with a common sidearm being the MAAW (Multi-Action Assault Weapon) set of revolver type weapons.
