  1. >Be a middle daughter in a large MG family
  2. >Echidna mother, so every sibling is a different monster
  3. >Yet, through some odd stroke of nature, you're human
  4. >The doctors and nurses were perplexed, but apparently it happens in about five percent of Echidna pregnancies
  5. >Your parents were ecstatic regardless, and it's never been an issue with your many sisters
  6. >There's your two oldest sisters, another Echidna and a Minotaur, named Stacy and Amy, who have been in college for a few years now
  7. >You have your fraternal twin, a Kobold-Corgi by the name of Marcy, and the two of you are juniors in high school
  8. >There's your Apophis sister named Janis, who's a little over a year younger than you
  9. >And finally, your youngest sister, a Baphomet named Kayleah, who's in her last year of middle school
  10. >Your family can be pretty hectic at times
  11. >You've lost count how many times the house has needed repairs over the years
  12. >Kayleah's terrible-two's were possibly the most destructive
  13. >But you wouldn't have it any other way
  14.
  15. >Lately Mom and Dad have been acting strange
  16. >Dad's been saving more home construction shows on the DVR than usual, as well as taking more hours at work
  17. >Mom's been wearing a big smile for a few weeks, and has been looking through all the photo albums
  18. >Specifically the baby pictures
  19. >You have a sneaking suspicion on what it is, but it can't be that
  20. >Can it?
  21.
  22. >Friday rolls around, Mom's been busy in the kitchen all day
  23. >Stacy and Amy are on break, so they'll be home for dinner tonight
  24. >Marcy, Janis, and you have offered to help out in the kitchen, but Mom shoos you all out
  25. >She appreciates the gesture, but she wants to work on everything herself
  26. >Whatever, it makes her happy
  27. >And it gives Marcy and you more time to catch up on your shows
  28. >And argue who's the hotter actor
  29. >Marcy prefers the Moose, but you've always liked the Big D
  30. >Kayleah and Janis decide to spend their time curled up on one of the big beanbag chairs, playing their 3DS's instead
  31. >Probably Mario Kart, from the sound of it
  32. >You get through a few episodes of your show before Mom slithers out into the living room and plops on the couch
  33. >She's ditched her apron for her old Grateful Dead concert tee
  34. >Same concert where she met Dad at, actually
  35. >She only wears that when she's...
  36. >...okay, two strikes, maybe she's joking around
  37.
  38. >Marcy gives you a sidelong glance, and shrugs
  39. >Looks like she's caught on, but isn't sure either
  40. >The credits roll on the episode the two of you had been watching, and your Mom asks if she can watch her show now
  41. >It's not on netflix, but your dad picked up the blu-rays for her recently
  42. >You didn't really care for the amount of violence in it, nor how one of the only morally good characters got his head lopped off
  43. >But it's got a cool dragon lady in it, and it's pretty suspensful, so that makes up for it
  44. >You get up, and put the disc in for her, you're on season three now
  45. >You really hope that little shit gets it this season
  46. >When you turn around, you freeze
  47. >Your Mom's eating from a pint of Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia
  48. >That's strike three
  49. >She digs the spoon back into the pint, and notices you're staring, raising an eyebrow
  50. >"What?"
  51.
  52. >You shake your head, and tell her it's nothing, before sitting back down next to Marcy
  53. >You then pull your cellphone out, and give Marcy a glance, as you turn off the ringer
  54. >Marcy gets the hint and does the same
  55. >You text her that Mom's definitely preggers again
  56. >Marcy responds back quickly
  57. >"Figured as much. Should we tell Kayleah?" her text reads
  58. >You glance over at your Baphomet sister, who's relaxing pleasantly in Janis' coils, still playing Mario Kart
  59. >You text back no, that it would be a good surprise for her
  60. >Marcy reads your text, and simply nods
  61. >That's when you heard the front door open
  62. >Dad's still at work, so it has to be Stacy and Amy
  63. >You excuse yourself, and head over to the mud room
  64.
  65. >Sure enough, your echidna and minotaur sisters have arrived, both beaming as they see you
  66. >Next thing you know you're wrapped in a tight hug between the two
  67. >You hug back as best as you can, before breaking away
  68. >Stacy sniffs the air, and flicks her tongue out a few times
  69. >"Hey Annette, why's Mom making turkey? Easter's not for a while..." she asks
  70. >Audibly state that you aren't sure, you figure Mom just wanted to make turkey tonight
  71. >You then mouth that Mom's pregnant again, as you roll your hands over your stomach
  72. >They both widen their eyes, but Amy's the first to break
  73. >She let's out a long snort before busting into laughter
  74. >Stacy mouths "Are you sure?" back
  75. >You mouth out "Cherry Garcia" and make an eating gesture
  76. >She just rolls her eyes and smiles in response, and you quietly ask both of them not to tell Kayleah
  77. >They both agree, and Stacy heads out to the living room
  78.
  79. >Meanwhile, Amy drags you into the kitchen, and grabs one of Dad's Dos Equis from the fridge, before handing you a Coke
  80. >"So, what do you think our newest little sis is gonna be?"
  81. >You shrug, and toss out the first species that comes to mind
  82. >A spider-type, maybe, like aunt Lisa?
  83. >Amy laughs, and sips her beer
  84. >"Maybe, I bet Lisa would love that." Amy replies
  85. >You ask what she thinks
  86. >"I dunno, part of me is thinking she'll be something that flies." she answers
  87. >And the other part?
  88.
  89. >She shrugs, and sips her beer
  90. >"I get the feeling she'll be pretty simple, yet complicated. Maybe some kinda cat, you know how tricky they get." she replies
  91. >You nod and sip your coke, when the oven timer starts going off
  92. >Moments later, Mom slithers back into the kitchen, and puts her half-eaten pint of ice cream in the freezer
  93. >"Oh good. Ann, Amy, could you get the good china out, and help me set the table?" she asks
  94. >Amy smirks and gives you a look, but the two of you agree
  95. >Soon, your whole family is gathered around the table, your Dad arriving in the nick of time
  96. >Your Mom's made quite a feast, it almost rivals the dinner from last Christmas
  97. >You all enjoy your dinner, making small talk with each other, but soon your Mom clears her throat
  98. >"So, girls, your father and I have an important announcement to make..." she starts off
  99. >Kayleah gasps
  100. >"Are we getting a pool?!" she blurts out
  101. >You can't help but giggle along with your sisters at the young Baphomet's enthusiasm
  102. >"Hmm, well maybe, it all depends on what the baby is going to be." your Mom answers with a smile and a twinkle in her eye
  103. >Kayleah's jaw drops, and she soon let's out a delighted squeal of joy
  104. >Janis smirks and gives her a noogie, while congratulating Mom
  105.
  106. >A couple months pass, but the excitement has yet to fade
  107. >Marcy, Janis, and you have been helping Mom out lately
  108. >Like tonight, you went to Barnes & Noble to get the latest updated copy of "What to Expect When You're Expecting: Echidna Edition"
  109. >How is it possible for a book this big to exist?
  110. >It took the combined effort of the three of you to haul the large tome out of the store and it into the van
  111. >Mom was tempted to call Amy for help, but the three of you managed to do it without serious injury, sorta
  112. >You decide to mention to Marcy and Janis that Mom's birthday is coming up, and an e-reader isn't too bad of an idea for her
  113. >"Yeah...I'll pitch in for one..." Marcy says between panting, and takes in a sharp breath, holding her lower back
  114. >"Same, we shouldn't need a flatbed for a book, of all things..." Janis replies, wiping sweat from her brow, and frowns at Marcy
  115. >"Do you want me to give you a back massage when we get home?" she then asks
  116. >Your kobold-corgi twin winces in pain as she tries to stretch, and nods
  117. >"Please... I don't think I'll be able to walk tomorrow if you don't." Marcy answers
  118. >You put an arm under her to help support her, and you wince yourself
  119. >Maybe that book was too heavy
  120. >Janis squeezes your shoulder, and smiles
  121. >"I'll give you one too, Ann, but Marcy's got first dibs."
  122. >A short while later, and you're finally back home
  123.
  124. >Mom was even nice enough to stop and get some Subway sandwiches for dinner tonight
  125. >Though you think part of that is cause she just likes saying "Five Dollar Foot Long"
  126. >Marcy and you limp out of the van with Janis' support, while Kayleah skips out of the house
  127. >She's still in her Girl Scout uniform, if it wasn't for her meeting tonight she would have gone shopping with all of you
  128. >Oh well, at least she can put that Baphomet strength to use now
  129. >Surprisingly, even Kayleah has troubles carrying the book, and nearly drops it more than once during the trip inside
  130. >With a loud thump, she finally sets it down in the living room
  131. >Where it's probably going to stay for a few more months
  132. >You plop down in one of the big bean-bag chairs in the living room with your dinner, while Marcy sets her large-framed glasses on the coffee table and lays face down on the floor
  133. >Her tail is already wagging, to yours and Janis' amusement
  134.
  135. >Your apophis sister soon gets to work, slowly kneading her hands along the kobold-corgi's back
  136. >Marcy lets out a sigh of relief, and squirms a bit
  137. >A few more minutes of this treatment goes by, before Janis claps her hands together
  138. >"Alright, you should be warmed up, ready for part two?" she asks Marcy
  139. >Her tail is wagging even fast, as she slowly sits up and nods
  140. >Janis carefully coils herself around Marcy, and begins using her strong muscles to further sooth your sore sister
  141. >Marcy looks like she's in heaven, and after a rather loud pop, let's out a sigh of relief
  142. >Janis then uncoils from her, and sets her down
  143. >The kobold-corgi grabs her glasses from the coffee table, and plops down on the bean-bag chair next to you
  144. >"Alright Ann, you ready?" Janis asks
  145. >You finish the last of your sandwich and nod
  146. >You're always ready for one of your sister's legendary massages
  147.
  148.
  149. >School finally let's out for the summer
  150. >Dad wants to treat the family with a nice relaxing getaway
  151. >Stacy and Amy had to decline, though, as they we're still taking college classes
  152. >Aunt Carol, your Dad's Dark Elf older sis, is letting all of you use her lakeside cabin
  153. >She's rather nice, but sometimes you think she's a little too open about her personal life at times
  154. >Last time you were at the cabin, she was giving you a tour of the newly renovated basement dungeon
  155. >Which, admittedly, was quite nice, Carol spared no expense
  156. >The needlepoint sign that hung above the basement door read "Carol's Dungeon", with plenty of hearts scattered around it, was a cute touch, and always made you smirk
  157. >She made it a point to let you and your sisters know it was open for use, as long as you cleaned up afterwards
  158. >Tempting offer, but you doubt you'll find an unattached guy while at the cabin
  159.
  160. >After a long ride in the van, your family arrives at Carol's cabin, which is currently vacant
  161. >Her, her husband, and her daughter Denise aren't showing up until later in the trip, closer to the Fourth of July
  162. >Settling in didn't take too long, Dad gave Kayleah luggage duty on account of her strength
  163. >Marcy helped Dad out with the boats, a large pontoon and an older but reliable speed boat, making sure they're in working order
  164. >Janis and you, meanwhile, we're tasked with making mom comfortable
  165. >Which didn't take much effort, actually, she just needed help getting into the hammock and setting up her "Zen" atmosphere
  166. >You open the cabin window closest to the hammock, and move a few large speakers so that they're pointing through it
  167. >You ask your Mom what she'd like to listen to first, while Janis was busy making iced tea
  168. >"If Carol still has her Uriah Heep records, throw one of those on. Salisbury, if you can find it." she asks with a smile, before turning her attention back to her new e-reader
  169.
  170. >Sure enough, you find the record in question in Carol's collection, and place it on the turntable
  171. >You then pull a few more records out, more of your Mom's favorites, and set them aside
  172. >With all that settled, you wait for Janis to finish her task, and ask her what she wants to do today
  173. >"I'm just gonna put on a swimsuit and lay in the sun. Want to join me?" she replies
  174. >Sure, why not, you could use a tan
  175. >A few moments later, and you're in your blue bikini, laying down a couple beach towels on the shore, close to the dock
  176. >Kayleah was already in her one-piece suit, swimming in the shallows, while Marcy and Dad we're starting to fish off the end of the dock
  177. >Janis slithered up next to you, a bottle of sun tan lotion in one hand and a small cooler of soda in the other
  178. >She was in her neon-green bikini Mom got her for her birthday a few months back
  179.
  180. >"Want me to get your back?" she asks, wiggling the suntan lotion bottle
  181. >You nod and sit down, and soon you feel your sister's hands on your back
  182. >You then ask if she's thought anymore about what your new baby sis will be
  183. >"Hmm...I'm not really sure, but I feeling she's gonna have scales." Janis replies
  184. >You ask if she means another snake, like her and Stacy
  185. >"Maybe, though she could be something like lizardman." she answers, and finishes coating your back in lotion
  186. >You return the favor for her, and switch spots, rubbing suntan lotion into her purple skin
  187. >Janis doesn't really get much of a tan, but she still burns, and if she burns too badly it could trigger an early shed, which was always a hassle
  188.
  189. >The rest of the day proved to be rather relaxing
  190. >You only needed to get up a few times, mostly to either flip or swap out records for Mom
  191. >She ended up going from Uriah Heep to Lynard Skynard for a while, and was now starting to listen to Fleetwood Mac
  192. >Eventually, Marcy joined the two of you, and was now tanning on your right, with Janis sunning herself on your left
  193. >Marcy had managed to catch a couple Bass, while Dad pulled in a few Walleye
  194. >He was now cleaning them at the picnic table for tonight's dinner, while chatting with Mom
  195. >The three of you, meanwhile, we're starting to discuss boys
  196. >Janis had been interested in this younger drummer guy from the high school band for a few months now
  197. >Marcy, however, was just like you
  198. >You both had a few guys you were interested in, but no one seemed to be prime dating material
  199. >It wasn't long until another voice joined your conversation
  200.
  201. >"Hey, uh... how do I get boys to like me?" Kayleah asked, sitting down cross-legged in front of you, a towel wrapped around her
  202. >"What do you mean, squirt?" Janis asks, tossing her a grape soda
  203. >"All the boys in my grade only really look at girls like... well, you three." Kayleah answers, gesturing at the three of you
  204. >"While I'm..." she started, trailing off as she gestured to her chest
  205. >Ohhhh, so that's what it is
  206. >You and Janis start to giggle, as Marcy pulls the Baphomet into a hug
  207. >"Not all guys are into big chests, Kay." Marcy starts, and soon begins tickling your younger sister
  208. >"Yeah, there's plenty of boys who'll find you hot!" Janis pipes in, smirking as Kayleah squirms and laughs under your Kobold-Corgi sister's attention
  209. >You add your two cents, and tell her it's better to be patient
  210. >Young teen boys are usually dumb about girls anyway
  211. >You then tease her slightly, telling her it's unbecoming of a Baphomet to worry about her chest being too small
  212. >Marcy eases up on the tickling, and it takes a few moments for Kayleah to get her breath back
