  15. A.)
  16. Damn, this is harder than it looks.
  17.
  18. Turn 1: Earthquake. Either 1.) luke dies/MP's and doesn't KO, 2.) Dragonite comes in, or 3.) Lucario MP's and KOs.
  19. Turn 2: 1.) Sack Tyranitar, 2.) Sack Tyranitar, 3.) Flare Blitz.
  20. Turn 3: Close Combat - WIN, 2.) Flare Blitz, 3.) Flare Blitz - WIN
  21. Turn 4: 2.) Flare Blitz - WIN

  26. // What is the last Pokemon likely? Give reasoning behind your answer?
  27.
  28. A.)
  29. I haven't played DPP in a while, this is going to be hard.
  30.
  31. I think I'll say Starmie: he has Pursuit support to get rid of Rotom-A, lacks a spinner, appreciates more offensive pressure, and needs a way to deal with GK Mixnape.
  32.
  33. //3.)
  34. // Infernape does 53% damage to your Life Orb 0 hp / 0 def evs Starmie with Close Combat? It reveals Life Orb, in your opinion does it possess Hidden Power
  35. // Ice. Furthermore name what specific Infernape variant it is?
  36.
  37. A.)
  38. Well, it's certainly a variant of MixNape; It's EVs can go from 252 Adamant to 188 Neutral, meaning that it's too physically oriented to hold HP Ice. I'd say it's something like CC/FB/GK/SE or MP. Then again, I'm partial to GK mixnape myself.
  39.
  40. //4.)
  41. // You have a +1 Attack and Speed Kingdra and a Choice scarf flygon comes in as you get that first dragon dance up. You have a weavile (life orb with ice // shard) at the back and your opponent has a starmie as last Pokemon revealed. How do you proceed?
  42.
  43. A.)
  44. Well, you need to sack Kingdra guaranteed unless you want to autolose, so I'd just click Outrage in case he does something stupid. After I sack Kingdra, I'm forced into Ice Shard to knock it out. In the end, this matchup depends on whether I have Night Slash or not; If I do, I win. If I don't, I need to crit with Pursuit.
  45.
  46. Then again, Flygon could have DClaw. If it does, and chooses it, I'm still forced to Ice Shard, but he could send in Starmie on the Ice Shard. If I'm Night Slash, I still win outright, and if I'm not, if Starmie's a 0 HP variant, Pursuit is a guaranteed KO after an Ice Shard, confirming the game to me. If he tries switching shenanigans, I just alternate between IS and my Dark-type move, I can't lose in that situation. In other words,
  47.
  48. Turn 1: Sack Kingdra
  49. Turn 2: Ice Shard
  50. Turn 3: Night Slash, or if I don't have it, Pursuit
  51. Turn 4 (if there is one): Ice Shard
  52.
  53. //5.)
  54. // Tyranitar switches in to your Breloom after you dispose of a Blissey and reveal that you are a slow focus punch set? What can you expect and what is the // best option here?
  55.
  56. A.)
  57. Seed Bomb is still a big threat to TTar, and it can't do that much in return, so this is just screaming Fire Blast all over. If I have a mon that beats TTar and resists Fire Blast, such as Swampert, Kingdra, or Suicune, I'd switch that in; if he's bluffing and tried to scare me out to set up a Curse or fire off an attack, the switch will still act as a counter. If I don't have a mon that does that, I'd just Seed Bomb; if he's bluffing, he's screwed, and if he's not, you'd be putting yourself in a worse position by switching than by sacking.
  58.
  59. //6)
  60. // You lead off with a Empoleon with Aqua jet Hydro Pump Stealth Rock and Ice beam vs an Azelf turn 1
  61. //
  62. // What do you first turn, choose from the following:
  63. //
  64. //
  65. // a) Attempt to SR as you know he will SR not risking taunt
  66. //
  67. // b) Attack with hydro Pump and then finish with Aqua jet
  68. //
  69. // c) Hydro Pump then go for SR
  70.
  71. A.)
  72. C. If he taunts, B. If I don't have a spinner, I'd be taking them anyway, and if I do, I can spin them away later. If he taunts, I deny him his rocks altogether. If he rocks, I get the immediate advantage. I go for SR the next turn because A.) if he Taunts me here, I can just AJ next turn a la answer B, B.) I resist Explosion so it won't do that much, and C.) free rocks if he switches.
  73.
  74. //7)
  75. // Give a last Pokemon to this team and explain why briefly
  76. //
  77. // Empoleon / Calm Mind HP Ground Jirachi occa berry / RD Kingdra / Life Orb mixed Dragonite / Bulky SD Scizor / ???
  78.
  79. A.)
  80. Where's your Mixnape switchin? Empoleon gets CC'd, Rachi gets FB'd, Kingdra can't take a hit, Dnite gets SE'd, Zor gets FB'd. I'd personally pull Starmie to put pressure on Kingdra's counters so Dra can overwhelm them later on, give me a mixnape switchin, and remove rocks so Dnite can switch in more and force plays.
