  1. I stared at the driveway next to the main building of the Urahara Shoten.
  2.
  3. “I was just as surprised as you, really…” Urahara trailed, “But you know what they say about gift horses, right?”
  4.
  5. My slacking jaw clacked shut, “…How?” I finally asked.
  6.
  7. “I have no idea.”
  8.
  9. Well. That was unhelpful. It wasn’t surprising that it was unhelpful, but I wish it was actually something workable and… helpful. Because sitting right there, in front of us, was the most awesome van in the world. It was undamaged, untouched, and whole – completely at odds with the smashed pile of scrap it was last time I looked.
  10.
  11. “You didn’t fix it?” I asked him.
  12.
  13. “Nope.”
  14.
  15. This was strange. This was… this was very strange. How the hell was that van sitting there? How was it in one piece? How was it – wait. Stop. First rule of Urahara Shoten? What was the first rule of Urahara Shoten?
  16.
  17. “Okay then.” I smiled, nodded, then got into the driver’s seat.
  18.
  19. Ask no questions. No matter how unusual, no matter how bizarre, if it is happening then it is happening. And you don’t ask what you’re looking at in the Urahara Shoten. You don’t question the strange or unusual things. There’s no time for that. So just go with it.
  20.
  21. I left the driveway, Kon the hula girl was on my dashboard. “I… I thought this was blown up…!” Oh, poor, unfortunate Kon. Was he going to ask how this thing was around? Would he make the same mistake I did? “How?! Why?!” he cried.
  22.
  23. Survey says: Yes.
  24.
  25. My smile widened, “I don’t know, and I don’t care. Let’s drive.”
