A whirlwind of drama and dirt in PL’s ivory tower.
….and at the end of the day, as the dust settles one of the greats of the game turns out to be a lowly thief?
Our story begins in 2014, when Shamis, for reasons unknown to this day, has decided to empty the slushfund paypal account of PL. Money has been sitting there for a while, not doing much, around $1500 in total. Shamis took it all.
Now, you may say, a CEO can decide to take the money his alliance has in a slushfund account.  The problem was he never gave it back.
After a while, as PL is well known for its security measures and crazy anti-spy shit, the missing funds raised an alert somewhere. Questions were asked. No answers were given. It got to a point Ander, the anal Swede, in charge of all tech in PL, confronted Shamis about this matter.
This is the point where is becomes interesting because Shamis got mad. When someone of authority, with power (even if its pixel based), get mad, you can expect drama to follow. Wheels were put in motion. To what end? To hush the disappearance of the funds and to get back at Ander for blowing the whistle.
Things would only get worse for our poor Swede.  Ander didn’t like the plans to monetize pl.com by working with eve-bet. Apparently, the rest of the brass wanted to make some money on the side. The collision course was set.
Forward to August 2015. The top honchos of PL- Elise, Grath, Jeffraider and Phalanx) decided to pull the rug under Ander’s feet by removing his control over the PL forums. The course of action they chose shows of their moral ineptitude and lack of basic social skill. Instaed of choosing the high road, approaching said Swede and, politely, devising together a plan of transition they decided to go the PL route- try and steal the DB and the content of pl.com.
Alas, they chose the wrong person to butt heads with. This was Ander’s turf. “Somehow” their plans were discovered. Their new, “secret” project, Pandemic-legion.pl, got leaked. The hacking of said secret project soon followed. Ander was furious. His ego hurt. How is it he was not told of such a project? Why go behind his back?
His patience grew thin. So he told them to shove it. Gave them a deadline – Dec 1st 2015 – to move out of his servers, with no code or any of the magnificent tools generations of PL coders have built over the years.
How this will impact the great PL? Well it probably won’t stop here. This is just the beginning of the end.
