  10. First Founding: Ancient, Age of Heroes (1d6+3 historical events) (7)
  11.
  12. Historical Events:
  13. Scandal: Visemond Waters, "the White Crab," exiled bastard of House Celtigar. Visemond went first to Braavos to assemble a company of men, and then to the Blackwater Rush. He and his company of 500 men claimed territory along the river, angering House Bywater of the Kingswood.
  14. Decline: Visemond was succeeded by Jacenor, who wed his sister Nesaerys in true Valyrian fashion. Nesaerys was unable to produce a male heir of sound mind, and upon Jacenor's death, he was succeeded by Jaenna, his eldest daughter. Weak of body, Jaenna allowed the territory to slip into lawlessness while her small council watched on.
  15. Treachery: Jaenna was succeeded by her son Vaegar, who himself has a son Marys. Marys was taken as hostage by House Bywater during a siege, as revenge for Visemond's thievery. Marys grew up in captivity, and without an heir, his sister Elaenys ascended to the throne. At the age of 16, Marys was released from captivity and seized control of the House.
  16. Madness: Marys was first known as Marys "the Warrior," and then Marys "the Mad." Angered by his sister's inept leadership, he ordered his relatives to be exiled, partly to please the Bywaters. Later, Marys would put House Bywater to the sword in revenge for his captivity, leading a war that led to the death of the Bywater's three youngest heirs, and the seizure of the province of Greensward.
  17. Ascent: Marys was succeeded by Varys "the Poet," who was known as a peaceful ruler and excellent caretaker. His rule was marked by a steady rise in the House's fortunes, as well as the end of the house's policy of divine incest. Varys sired many children, who went forth and brought fame to the house in tournaments and deeds.
  18. Windfall: Varys was succeeded by Aemar "the Great," the son of Varys and Arianne Bywater. With an alliance with the Bywaters secured, Aemar struck north at Farring Cross and then the Brmasfort. A number of victories led to the rapid expansion of the house along the Blackwater Rush, which now held castles and towns along the river.
  19. Revolt: Aemar's war-mongering, however, greatly affected the smallfolk of the realm. Upon Aemar's death, he was succeeded by his son Visegon. During Visegon's reign, a great revolt was fought between the House and their subjects. Smallfolk from Byford and Hayford flooded into the province, demanding recompense for fought wars. Visegon was slain by a mob of smallfolk and succeeded by his young son, Gaenar, who was forced to grant tracts of land to smallfolk veterans in return for their loyalty.
