  1. [4/29/2014 9:05:03 PM] Siggon.k: culturally, I expect it'll be somewhere between gsf and gents
  2. [4/29/2014 9:05:19 PM] Siggon.k: it isn't going to be goonfleet 3.0 or gents 2.0 though
  3. [4/29/2014 9:06:36 PM] Nova Rain: Is that something you're looking to actively push on, or just toss folks into a group and accept what develops?
  4. [4/29/2014 9:07:17 PM] Senshi [ohcrp]: Organic growth is going to happen either way
  5. [4/29/2014 9:08:59 PM] Nova Rain: Right. I'm just curious if it will be directed, and if so, how.
  6. [4/29/2014 9:10:19 PM] Nova Rain: See the previous question about independent forum sections / Jabber channels / ping groups / etc for one of the ways you can direct that either towards or away from GSF culture.
  7. [4/29/2014 9:15:50 PM] Siggon.k: an alliance that can't communicate with itself won't be able to organize
  8. [4/29/2014 9:16:10 PM] Siggon.k: if you're familiar with our structure, and if you remember what mittani said about delegation
  9. [4/29/2014 9:16:46 PM] Siggon.k: some of this stuff is basics that'll have to exist in some form. as for what form, hard to say yet. we're nowhere near figuring out IT solutions
  10. [4/29/2014 9:19:11 PM] Siggon.k: if you guys haven't done so, I'd highly recommend you watch my presentation from eve down under
  11. [4/29/2014 9:19:41 PM] Siggon.k: http://youtu.be/JxPAP7RiwQc
  12. [4/29/2014 9:20:02 PM] Siggon.k: that'll give you some insight into how gsf works, and a good idea of what kind of structure to expect
  13. [4/29/2014 9:20:31 PM] Nova Rain: Maybe I'm asking this poorly. I don't care about the IT solutions themselves, I'm interested in what sorts of walls (if any) you'd consider putting between GSF and this new alliance to allow them to have more separate cultures and environments.
  14. [4/29/2014 9:25:41 PM] Siggon.k: you'd have to ask mittani when he's back
  15. [4/29/2014 9:25:48 PM] Siggon.k: have you watched the presenation?
  16. [4/29/2014 9:26:13 PM] Nova Rain: Not yet; I've queued it up for later tonight. I don't have a great idea what your internal structure looks like.
  17. [4/29/2014 9:27:23 PM] Siggon.k: we have 60 directors and an alliance of 13k people
  18. [4/29/2014 9:27:38 PM] Siggon.k: even our sigs have sub-cultures that are pretty independent
  19. [4/29/2014 11:55:21 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: I watched. Quite interesting.
  20. [2:56:59 AM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: P0lr had corp meeting tonight. Membership is interested in this option. The opportunity to stick together is strongly appealing.
  21. [3:36:19 AM] Attoy [ybox]: We already had a meeting and we are interested. As a matter of fact k4rpa (co-CEO) asked me to relay the following questions:
  22. [3:36:29 AM] Attoy [ybox]: Q: About the FCing, we had a roster in GENTS. Will be have something similar in this new alliance? If so, will Fc be able to ping for roams and home defense fleet?
  23. [3:36:35 AM] Attoy [ybox]: Q: related to the previous question, will this be directly connected to skirmish fc? or the two things can be handled separately?
  24. [3:36:43 AM] Attoy [ybox]: Q: GENTS had "his own way" of doing things, in fact we had also an internal doctrine. i'm assuming this will be overwritten by cfc unified doctrines and more over, SIGs will have more impact into our activities?
  25. [3:36:56 AM] Attoy [ybox]: Q: About POSes. Since seems that sister alliance will be granted by goons ratting visas, will we be able to drop poses also in goon space? Something like utility Poses (a shield and a ship hangar or such). Any restrictions about those?
  26. [8:12:04 AM] Siggon.k: fc structure will almost certainly be run like it is in gsf, where the only real limitation on taking a fleet out is desire to do so
  27. [8:13:35 AM] Siggon.k: doctrines will at the very least mirror the official doctrines of gsf, but beyond that, hard to say. I know gents had eleventy thousand doctrines, and that's not something that will happen, no
  28. [8:14:22 AM] Siggon.k: SIG's are always optional though, people can join them if they wish, or do something else
  29. [8:15:08 AM] Siggon.k: utility pos's have very little restrictions at all
  30. [8:17:53 AM] Siggon.k: if you're not familiar with fc structure in gsf, we have skirmish commanders who can ping for fleets, fc's who have a bit more latitude in the fleets they can run, and bloc fc's like vee and laz. but any level of fc can fc for their own thing, or for the coalition if they want to
  31. [8:18:22 AM] Siggon.k: sigs and squads tend to have their own fc structure beyond that for sig/squad fleets
  32. [8:21:33 AM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: HOBO alliance
  33. [2:12:50 PM] Siggon.k: can't imagine that would be a popular option :v:
  34. [4:16:20 PM] Senshi [ohcrp]: I keep asking myself "do we want a gimmick, or do we want something simple" - and we're running out of good gimmicks.
  35. [4:17:00 PM] Senshi [ohcrp]: Cant do "Gnomeland Security" without getting an earful from Eingang and her group of LAWN gnomes.
  36. [4:24:15 PM] Senshi [ohcrp]: Zigbee Protocol, meh
  37. [4:24:42 PM] Senshi [ohcrp]: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZigBee
  38. [4:34:04 PM] Michael Gilbert: Orbis Alliance
  39. [4:38:29 PM] Endie H: All gimmicks wear off
  40. [4:38:39 PM] Endie H: Quicker thank you think
  41. [4:39:00 PM] Endie H: Solodrakbansolodrakbanso [lodra]
  42. [6:13:24 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: APOPHIS EFFECT
  43. [6:14:46 PM] Senshi [ohcrp]: Isnt apophis some kind of Egyptian demon? That could be interesting
  44. [6:17:16 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: It's also an asteroid that has a potential earth intersection.
  45. [6:18:07 PM] Chance el'Allin - P0LR: Something about risk, danger, uncertainty
  46. Senshi [ohcrp]
