  1. (00:43:51) Gibbit--High up on the cliffs outside the city, precariously above the crashing waves beneath and right on the edge of a rock sat Gibbit. In one meaty hand the lad held a bottle of hard whiskey that he'd been drinking for long enough not to be able to taste it anymore...almost a half bottle gone. The troll stared out across at the horizon with a fairly emtpy expression. His green robes had seen better days too...sewn back together in places where they'd been slashed open and damaged only to be repaired again and again. It was quiet, all but for the sea and the gulls crying out at the rocks far below.
  2. (00:53:09) Galtus Ravenholt finally set out to find the troll he once knew.. rumors spread he had returned to the city and with due hesitation, the mage greased many palms with coppers to lead him to the apprentice from his past. Eventually he found his way to the cliffs overlooking the harbour - a quiet slice of paradise he visited when he could - and froze when he spotted a wild shock of green hair in the distance. Had to be. Slowly Galtus approached, both hands thrust into his pockets. When he reached the swing he slowed, staring at the young fellow before him.. he had grown. Mustering his courage after two mintues of silence he cleared his throat. "Drinking, are you? Booze can make a young mage useless, sloppy.." He managed a weak smile. For the occasion he was his dapper best; Head and chinline shaved, clothes cleaned and even his boots glowed in the afternoon sun.

  5. (01:14:53) Gibbit was much bigger than he had been when they last met... the little boy was no more and the soon to be man had replaced that. The troll paused as he heard that voice behind him....familiar but not enough for him to know who it was. Slowly he looked back with a dim expression, but then as he saw the man before him, he dropped the bottle immediately and it cascaded down the rock behind him to settle in the dirt at the base of the tree, losing some of the liquid inside. "No....no you're not real.." he said as he slowly struggled to his feet and stumbled down off the rock "NO!" he suddenly charged forwards and would grab Galtus if he could, drunkenly spinning to slam him with force into the tree, back against the trunk "YOU! HOW DARE YOU! How-" he stuttered as he yelled at the top of his lungs, eyes streaming tears within moments "HOW DARE YOU SHOW UP BACK HERE! HOW DARE YOU!" he would slam Galtus into the tree again rather hard "ARE YOU REAL!? HUH!?"
  6.
  7. (01:25:14) Galtus Ravenholt watched as Gibbit charged for him, sighing a bit. Arms raised up, fully expecting a swing at his noggin we he came close.. wrong choice. He was grabbed easily and manhandled, his legs pinwheeling comically at the force. The first strike against the tree sent his back in spasms and bulged his eyes.. he struggled for words but found only silence. The second slam connected both with his spine and the back of his head.. instantly he snapped his jaw shut and clenched his fists.. a low thrum akin to the whir of almost-quiet machinery could be heard as energy - white as his skin - began to swirl around his right hand. "N-no.. I'm imaginary, Gibbit. Unhand me. Unless you seek a fight." He kept his expression strong and defiant, staring into the troll's eyes. Though he was shaking, both from sudden anger and the pain throbbing at the back of his head and the base of his spine.
  8.
  9. (01:33:52) Gibbit growled like a troll, not like a human. A deep and glutteral sound and he leaned in almost face to face with Galtus. He not only heard the magic but felt it too, being so close "Yeah you want to fight? you come back after all this time and you want to fight me? typical of you, you fucking scumbag" his grip tightened "Leaving the way you did, you don't deserve to fight BACK" he growled at him "I LOVED you" he yelled directly into the others face "And it meant NOTHING to you! NOTHING!"
  10.
  11. (01:39:56) Galtus Ravenholt weathered the storm, resisting the urge to flinch as he was shouted at. When the troll finished he spoke quietly through clenched mouth as if he was pushing the words through the cracks of his teeth. "Gibbit.. I had my own journey to make just as you did. Peddlers was draining me.. killing me slowly. My family business needed me.. I'm sorry I did not give warning but.. you aren't my son. You were my apprentice. Remove emotion," He said sharply. "Now.. let go." The energy was starting to swirl more chaotically and with much more vibrance.
  12.
  13. (01:45:30) Gibbit looked at Galtus through tears, barely able to see him "you were part of my journey" he croaked, as if broken "i'd have gone with you....but you didn't even say goodbye, you left me there with two broken legs.... i didnt find out you'd gone till maybe three weeks later..." he looked down and looked away "Well... maybe i saw you like a father.. but you won't have to worry about that anymore." he let go of Galtus abruptly but then glared down at that hand and back up "maybe you'd like to put that away, 'Galtus' ....I could more than give you a run for your money, you have no idea" he snarled and turned to walk away, shaking his head and lifting a hand to his face to wipe the tears away, trying to keep them at bay and not shed any more over Galtus, when he had learned they meant nothing to the man and felt that likely, neither had he.
  14.
  15. (01:52:18) Galtus Ravenholt splayed out his fingers when Gibbit relinquished his grip, the energy disappating immediately. As his hands set to smoothing the wrinkles in his attire he watched at the troll started to walk off. "I was a teacher Gibbit.. nothing more, nothing less. If anything.. I saw us as that and mayhap friends. My departure was abrupt but I knew you were in good hands. Ivian, Jaspur.. even Hors to a certain extent. I was a detriment to you, boy. My drinking.. the fact I was exhausted. I justified it as such." He turned to face the backside of Gibbit, lifting his chin a bit. "I'm sorry, young master Gibbit for betraying your trust.. I did not see the affect I had over you. Know you were the best I'd ever seen.."
  16.
  17. (02:01:21) Gibbit narrowed his eyes "Ivian did the same thing to me that you did, because he was fucking pathetic. Jaspur left, Hors was never around....turned out he was in a relationship and getting married, failed to tell me and kept me from his family then oh hey Gibbit i'm getting married. I left on my own to come here and make something of myself on my own, Galtus. I was not in good hands, i wasn't in any hands" he sneered to himself but then closed his eyes and let his expression fall. After a moment he opened his eyes and stared out at the sea "I'm still the best you've ever seen....and i've done terrible things" he said as he slowly turned to look at Galtus, eyes narrowed "Why did you come find me? What more could you possibly want from me?"
  18.
  19. (02:08:58) Galtus Ravenholt quirked one eyebrow when he mentioned 'terrible things'.. he didn't press the issue though, instead taking a step or two closer to the troll and attempting to pat his shoulder. "I came to see how you were.. in part, at least. You were never very far from my thoughts. Maybe, in time.. we could be friends. Partners even.." He sighed lightly and followed the horizon with his gaze, watching the sun dip into darkness. "If I had known.. if I could've seen that end for you in the Hollow things would've been different, I swear. Ivian has disappeared to me.. Jaspur I saw just recently. He's in a bad way. Hors I saw too.. and he annoyed me just as much as he use to," He stated with a smirk. "I need you to realize the decision to leave wasn't taken lightly.. but to look to me as a father was a mistake. You hold enough strength to be your own compass. I should not be an example to anyone other than magical learning."
  20.
  21. (02:16:35) Gibbit grunted "Yeah well Ivian only ever stuck around because he wanted to fuck you....something new comes up and off he goes" the troll looked away to the side and then back to Galtus' eyes "I know it was a mistake." he said very stiffly "You made that very clear, in the past, and in the last few minutes. But at the time you were the closest i'd ever had....i was younger and i admired you. You knew how alone i'd been....i don't know what you expected" he just closed his eyes again and let out a long breath. It hurt his heart, but it was what it was "...I haven't had a mentor since you left. I tried, but no one has time..... i'm a teacher myself, now.... here" he motioned to the big tower beside him "...but i've still so much to learn....you know-" he laughed a little weakly, sniffing a bit "When i arrived here and Master Dralt showed me Sairon....there was an imp on the loose in the training room....nearly killed its conjurer and i had to kill it. Reminded me of that time you just released a hoard of imps at me....came in handy..."
  22.
  23. (02:24:49) Galtus Ravenholt reacted like he was slapped when he mentioned Ivian's intentions. But no words came.. maybe in the long run that was what their relationship was. "Right.." He listened to the rest, even giving a grin when imps were mentioned. "Surprising, those.. many see the size and feel like they can handle it without any sweat. Pack hunters.. imps overwhelm just like the most in tune wolf pack you'd ever come across." Silence fell, causing the Kasnarian's anxiety to rear it ugly head. Absently he began to shuffle on spot, kicking at the dirt near his feet. "Despite.. you looking at me as a pariah," he said, his words picked carefully and presented with the confidence of a scolded child, "I think we could do some good for both of us.. but as equals now. Train like we did, hold each other up.. get better." The last words came out with vigor, all of a sudden passion held in his eyes. "But.. I need your help Gibbit. A deal.. you help me and when we are finished, I'll help you. No disappearing.."
  24.
  25. (02:35:02) Gibbit'e eyes fixed on Galtus "I miss having a mentor, i really do... but i would be glad to train with you again....i have to show you how far i've come." he said gently and then lifted his chin, narrowing his eyes a bit at Galtus "Should have known you wanted something from me" he shook his head in disbelief "What is it Galtus? spit it out......but it already sounds like trouble and you haven't said what it is yet." he mumbled apprehensively.
  26.
  27. (02:47:04) Galtus Ravenholt scoffed. "When.. have I ever wanted anything from you other than you to grow your potential? Look," he glanced around cautiously before stepping closer. "The trees have ears or at least my paranoia tells me so.. tell me a place we can meet in two days and I'll seek you out. I have to square things with Jaspur first.. then we can discuss your role. And try not to be so.. sauced, yes?" He thumbed at the whiskey behind him. "Glad you can drink but.. I need a clear mind for this. Sound good to you?"
  28. (02:53:11) Gibbit snorted "the trees do have ears.... this place attacts dark fae and ive had the misfortune of being victim to a few." he mumbled and glanced around then back at Galtus "Alright..." he rubbed at his slightly numb face "Sorry just....killed some guys the other day, just...trying to forget it Galtus" he said unhappily "I'll be clear.... we can meet uhm.... yknow what, meet me at the docks at sundown in two days....i'll lead you somewhere ...better not to discuss where we'll meet to talk in advance." he said and lifted a fist to bump it to Galtus' chest, looking like he wanted to speak but then deciding it wasn't worth it. "I'll see you, then"
  29.
  30. (03:03:24) Galtus Ravenholt huffed a bit when the fist connected. "Gibbit.. it was good to see you again." Without another word he closed the gap between them and attempted to embrace, wrapping his stringy arms around the troll and drawing him in close. If he succeeded, he'd whisper into the child's ear.. and even if denied, he'd speak plainly "Death comes to those in the face of justice.. I hope those who fell deserved it, child." When/if he stepped back he gave a lopsided grin.. his eyes showed how tired he was. Reaching out he'd try to pat the troll's cheek with his palm. "Take care, Gibbit. I see you, now.. I'm sorry I didn't before." Lips curled into a frown as he turned away.. it wasn't suppose to be this hard.
  31.
  32. (03:09:35) Gibbit was built kind of like a tank and felt like a tree to hug. The troll wrapped his thick arms around Galtus in return tightly but not crushingly. Gibbit looked down as the man whispered and nodded quietly, saying nothing more other than confirming the men probably deserved it with that nod. Gibbit smiled a little drunkenly as Galtus patted at his cheek but then frowned a little as the man turned away. He turned too and put a hand on Galtus' shoulder before he left, squeezing his shoulder "....s' alright Galtus.... just gonna have to work hard for forgiveness.....good place to start is buying me cakes.....chocolates.... putting up a good fight....." he said as he grinned weakly and stepped past Galtus with a hint of humor on his way back towards the city, lifting a hand in a backwards wave "Think about how you're going to win me over, Baldylocks." he teased as he headed off with a smile on his face.... though it kept fading then coming back. How DID he feel about this? he didn't know.
  33.
  34. (03:11:47) Galtus Ravenholt watched the troll depart, somewhat awestruck. When it was just him, the birds and the cicadas he departed quickly, using the backstreets to return back home.
