  1. It was a dark and foggy night. The Toad Harbour lighthouse cast some light upon the Forever Forest, but aside from an occasional flash in the treetops, Luigi's only reliable source of light was his trusty flashlight. Custom made by professor E. Gadd, it was quite a torch.
  2. Luigi wasn't exactly sure why he was in the forest in the forest, or how he'd ended up there, but he was sure this path would take him to his destination. To home, he hoped.
  3. The lighthouses powerful light cut the night and cast some light in between the shadows of the trees, but even that couldn't shake the eerie feel off Luigi's shoulders. He could've sworn there was something watching him there. Constantly. But yet, even though he thought he had seen it, there was nothing there, never was. Luigi knew it, but he still felt odd.
  4. The end of the path approached rapidly, as a light was shining from behind the trees. It was a mansion. Its lights felt comforting in the sea of darkness and Luigi was sure he would find some help there. He rushed through the creaking front gate and to knock the huge door with old, victorian-styled carvings.
  5. He stood there, for what felt like ages, knocking every now and then. Eventually he opened the door and stepped inside. It was pitch black. Luigi shined his flashlight through the doorway, sweeping the floors with it. The layers of dust told him what he had feared: nobody lived there. Hadn't for ages at least. Luigi took a peek outside. The lights were still on. He took a couple of steps inside, and saw the light shining from underneath the door.
  6. Luigi opened the door, it creaking creepily. He took a quick look around the room. It was very neatly furnished, old wooden tables and comfortable looking armchairs, with some newspapers littered around. Unlike the entrance, this room was completely devoid of any dust at all. It almost sparkled in the light. Then Luigi saw what he wanted to: a phone.
  7. A bright red telephone was sitting in the end of the room. Surely he could use it to call someone to get him out of there. He walked towards the other end of the room, then suddenly the lights went out and he could hear the generator winding down in the basement. "Oh no," he thought to himself.
  8. The comforting, bright room instantly felt foreboding in the darkness. Figures passing every which way barely outside Luigi's vision. Then the phone rang. "Ring ring". There was no way it could've functioned without power. Luigi was confused. Eventually he answered the phone.
  9. "he-hello?". He heard only heavy breathing. "I-is this some kind of a joke?" The voice in the other end sounded like some kind of diving suit. Luigi put the phone down, only it to ring again. Luigi didn't hesitate long this time. "I swear, if you continue like that, I--" "Luigi! Can you hear me?" It was professor E. Gadd. "Professor! What exactly are you--" "Luigi! Good to hear you're alive. Get out of the house right now. I'm going to get you from the gate. Don't think about it, just go."
  10. Luigi put the phone down. Immediately, he heard a roar coming from upstairs. It was so loud, it made Luigi's ears ring. The whole mansion shook. Luigi started moving towards the door, very fast. Every object in the room started shaking violently. As Luigi stepped out of the door, he could hear the object hurling themselves against the door. Luigi pushed the heavy front door open and ran through the front yard. He could see light rays from coming through the windows, moving around towards downstairs, like something was trying to find him, or where he just was. E. Gadd was waiting for him at the gate.
  11. In E. Gadd's lab, Luigi was finally safe. "What on earth were you doing in there, Luigi?" "I don't really know, I found myself in the woods, and felt it was my destination, where I was heading to, even though I didn't now why." Luigi took a look at his right, at the calendar. The last thing he could remember, happened a week ago.
