  1. DNS Techpack 7.7.2.0 Current Changelog (03/09/2015 GMT 01:00)
  2.
  3. Hi guys, IAmOmicron here.
  4.
  5. There's an update in the works that I hope to have released by Thursday, or at the VERY latest, Saturday.
  6.
  7. I'm doing this a little differently than normal, and releasing the changelog early. The plan is, by showing you all what I have planned, if any of you have any doubts or worries about something, let me know and i'll help you out. For example; If you have a query about a mod, or why I did something. The best way to do this is via IRC [irc.esper.net - #DNS] or Twitter [@IAmOmicron].
  8.
  9. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  10. So here goes! Here are our patch notes.
  11.
  12. - A large amount of mod updates. No need to worry about these. If there is an issue, I will note it below.
  13.
  14. - Modular Powersuits has returned!
  15.
  16. - Statues mod has been replaced with the more advanced and intricate mod, 'Armourer's Aworkshop'. This was recommended by the maintainer of Statues since it is no longer updated.
  17.
  18. - A couple of cross-mod compatibility mods have been added to make the whole experience easier. Specifically;
  19. - ChiselTones to allow the use of Ztones with the Chisel mod.
  20. - TooManyGodDamnOres - Explanation at the end.
  21.
  22. - EnderTech - This adds a few neat features to the lategame of the Thermal Expansion mod set, which hopefully will allow you to expand your base with interesting designs and additional capabilities.
  23.
  24. - Funky Locomotion - This is a frame mod. Not too dissimilar from RedPower2 frames. They are however much easier to use and extremely stable, to my knowledge.
  25.
  26. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  27. On the radar - Mods that look promising and that could potentially be added at a later date:
  28.
  29. - Project XY. A XyCraft remake that is OpenSource. Unfortunately, until the machines and tanks are less buggy it won't be added. I am keeping my eyes on it though, as the decorative side of it (Xychorium blocks) are done extremely well, but again still have bugs.
  30.
  31. - Galacticraft. This is one of those mode that everybody knows about. We like it too, but has been buggy for a long time. Over recent months it has bettered in stability, and due to this I will consider adding it back soon!
  32.
  33. - Ars Magicka 2. I know you all want it. I have tested it a fair amount, and has been relatively stable. HOWEVER, it has not been updated since February and could cause issues later down the line. I will consider this, but will have to be tested further. If this is added I would also remove ArmorStatusHUD as AM2 has the same function on its HUD.
  34.
  35. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  36.
  37. NOTES:
  38.
  39. Applied Energistics 2:
  40. I will not move away from the current build of AE2 as no other mod has updated to the newer builds. Also as they are alpha, they are extremely liable to crashing.
  41.
  42. ModularPowerSuits:
  43. If you have installed a beta version of this mod from MachineMuse's Jenkins server, then you have a chance of losing your stuff from this mod. If you do happen to lose anything, don't feel bad for cheating it back in!
  44.
  45. TooManyGodDamnOres:
  46. This is a mod I have been searching for forever. It is incredibly simple. When you mine any ore, for example Copper, it will force the game to drop a specific type which is specified by our config files. Meaning no longer will you have 3 types of Copper cluttering your inventory. This is extremely helpful for those of you who add extra mods that include Ore Gen as you should no longer need to worry about it, unless of course, I missed some Ores from the config, in which case just let me know! This means that if you add Galacticraft for example, you do not NEED to turn off the ore gen as it should, when mined, drop the Thermal Expansion version of Copper.
  47.
  48. TL;DR Makes mining easier by only dropping 1 type of each ore.
  49.
  50. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  51.
  52. Now the fun part. If you have any questions about why I have done certain things, or what you think I could do to improve this update contact me. Also, please give me your impressions of this update. Tell me what you like and don't like. The best way to contact me is IRC or Twitter, mentioned at the top of this post.
  53.
  54. This is a lot of information, expecially since all of the updated mods have been left off. I will add them here shortly.
  55.
  56. Thanks for reading, and again, please let me know your impressions of this update.
