  1. You paged Abraxas with '...OK. I'm going to be completely and utterly honest. Please stop treating this game as your own personal sandbox. It is not. It is not your game to break, it is not your game to encourage others to break. I will call this your first strike. You haven't done anything to break the rules per se, but you've been violating the spirit of the rules and good conduct left
  2. and right. So please stop.'
  3. Abraxas pages: Perhaps you could describe something I've done that has violated the spirit of the rules?
  4. Abraxas pages: Because as it stands, I don't think my character has done anything. And beyond having a chat on the pub channel,
  5. neither have I.
  6. Abraxas pages: Because I find issuing a '1st strike' on a three strike system, when I've not actually broken any rules, offensive.
  7. You paged Abraxas with 'Repeatedly complaining about having to spend XP for things when that is simply the nature of the game. TWICE attempting to monty haul players in an attempt to justify your own spends, specifically Ruby Scourgebringer with Isin, and Red with the 25 3-dot manses bit. THEN continuing to argue against the nature of the setting after having it explained to you in a fashion that simply suggests that you are more pushing for your own sake than you are trying to argue to a rational end. This is not about what your character has done, this is about what you have done as a player.'
  8. Abraxas pages: What about ruby with isin?
  9. Abraxas pages: And Red made that plan herself.
  10. Abraxas pages: And worked it up with nyssa, not me.
  11. Abraxas pages: Seriously. What spends have I attempted to justify?
  12. You paged Abraxas with 'You attempted to facilitate the 25 3-dot manse bit, you actively admitted that you attempted to use that bit to justify your own acquisition of 3 5-dot manses later through the Chiaroscuro undercity. You have worked with us, I will admit this. But your initial attempts are patently ridiculous and you have mainteind an abrasive attitude regardless.'
  13. Abraxas pages: And Ruby's plot with Isin was completely above board.
  14. Abraxas pages: That was a joke OCD.
  15. Abraxas pages: I know tone is difficult here, but "And I was going to do less crazy stuff than Red, so it's ok Righ?" a serious comment?
  16. Abraxas pages: As for acquiring a ...3 5-dot manses? What?
  17. Abraxas pages: Where did you get three 5-dot manses from?
  18. You paged Abraxas with 'You were attempting to acquire the chiaroscuro undercity manses as 3 5-dot manses, if I recall correctly.'
  19. Abraxas pages: No.
  20. Abraxas pages: I had no intention of acquiring anything
  21. Abraxas pages: I intended to repair the infrastructure, so that my character made an impact on the setting in some way
  22. Abraxas pages: I never placed a request for a manse, hearthstone, or other
  23. Abraxas pages: Furthermore, had I wanted a 5 dot manse, by the book I'm capable of designing them. The process here works per artifact, so I suppose I could 1 handed make them, though that seems a bit silly to me, it's how staff desired its availability.
  24. Abraxas pages: What you're doing is calling foul on me because you feel my personality is abrasive, not because I've actually sought to give offense to anyone.
  25. Abraxas pages: I'm here to have fun, not spoil other peoples.
  26. Abraxas pages: Also, how did I attempt to facilitate the 25 3-dot manse bit? My opinions on the matter aside, since I believe I'm
  27. entitled to them.
  28. Abraxas pages: I ran no plots involved with them. My character hasn't actually met Red that I'm aware of.
  29. You paged Abraxas with '...Apologies. Looking back on records, this is unrelated.'
  30. Abraxas pages: Now, I suppose in assuming that networked manses was allowed here (given you allowed the stuff to make them), and
  31. placing a network of (albeit broken) manses in Isin could be regarded as questionable. My intent that they be broken and unusable
  32. until a major crafting project fixed them (and repaired the geomancy), was an innocent assumption that crafter types could make
  33. those anyway.
  34. Abraxas pages: Still the railway was neat.
  35. You paged Abraxas with 'It comes down to the basic point that you've been playing free and loose with the spirit of the law. You
  36. haven't broken any rules, but you've been violating the intention and general procedure. I realize that tone can be hard to communicate on a MUSH but you've understood that before and yet still made statements you claimed to be jokes. Such as requesting to be trained in martial arts by venus. It's not so much of a problem that you're requesting things like that in and of itself, as much as the fact that you're doing so in a way that would come at the expense of the setting.'
  37. Abraxas pages: I would never expect an incarnae to be involved with anything like that. They're distant mysterious things. They lose their impact when made familiar
  38. Abraxas pages: Its why when I write about them in scenes, I do so as myth and legend.
  39. Abraxas pages: or things larger than life, even when its only an illusion. It's the 'face of god' as it were.
  40. Abraxas pages: But ok. What did I do to violate procedure. Because I hadn't realized I had been.
  41. Long distance to Abraxas: SWLiHN sighs. "I understand this seems unreasonable, but it basically comes down to the fact that you have requested several unreasonable things, attempted unreasonable things, and persisted when asked to stop. I cannot bring up examples, we do not keep records of everything. So I will not attempt to make things harder. It boils down to this: You have been abrasive, and repeatedly made unreasonable requests. Please be more mindful of your attitude towards the setting and just what your character can get. This is strike one."
  42. Abraxas pages: It is unreasonable. If you're putting a strike I me, I want examples of things *done*, not joke comments you took seriously. Requests put into the system, Scene material.
  43. Abraxas pages: on me.
  44. You paged Abraxas with 'The problem here is that you are refusing you believe that you could be in the wrong. You have not broken
  45. any rules, but you have continually tested the limits of them. This is unto itself, a problem. The fact that you have continually
  46. made, 'Joke' comments after knowing that there was a very real chance, if not a certainty that we would take them seriously is
  47. indicative that you were not likely joking. It is clear that neither of us will move on this point, but the strike remains. Please
  48. understand that this is not a ban, this will not affect your ability to play here, it will not be told to any other players. But in
  49. summation, it is well past time that we actively told you that you are on thin ice and that your actions have consequences.'
  50. Abraxas pages: Have you had a staff meeting on this?
  51. You paged Abraxas with 'Meeting, no. However, staff is familiar with your track record and we agreed upon the initial page I
  52. provided.'
  53. Abraxas pages: And I told you. If a request doesn't go in, or I don't place something in a scene...
  54. Abraxas pages: Then this is entirely an issue of said staff members not liking my personality?
  55. You paged Abraxas with 'Please stop trying to twist this issue.'
  56. Abraxas pages: And If I tell you I was joking about something, especially a rediculous comment (in my mind meant to get a chuckle),
  57. It's likely a joke.
  58. Abraxas pages: I take great offense to this. This is how I'm perceiving this issue.
  59. You paged Abraxas with 'The strike remains. That is all. I understand you want an explanation, and I have given it to you. You have
  60. continually tested the boundaries of the rules. If you cannot see this, that is your problem. Not mine.'
  61. Abraxas pages: 'Strikes' are for rule violations. If I have questions on what's allowable, I ask.
  62. Abraxas pages: Did Cytherea agree with this?
  63. You paged Abraxas with 'Not actively. But if you want to appeal to her, go ahead.'
  64. Abraxas pages: I will. She's put her two cents in on this, and we had an understanding.
  65. Abraxas pages: If I've in some way violated that, I'd just as soon hear from her.
