  1. Equipment and Equipment tiers.
  2.
  3. Equipment in Mercenary 2030 Quest will have a limited selection and number of tiers. Equipment will generally fall under the skill it associates with, with a possible miscellaneous selection as we progress. Firearms, Explosives and Melee will have a slightly larger selection than others, as there are different types. However these will be generic, falling under selections as "Assault Rifle, Sniper Rifle, Grenade, Flash-bang, Knife, Axe, etc."
  4.
  5. Ammo will also be included in Merc 2030, as it is not as freely available in the world. Special variants will be included when you progress far enough to afford it/find/build the right connections for it.
  6.
  7. Equipment Tiers.
  8.
  9. There will be four tiers of Equipment in Merc 2030.
  10.
  11. Tier 0:
  12. Tier 0 has only one thing going for it, that it allows you to use the skill at all. Otherwise most of it would be considered parts material at best, utter scrap at worst. Dull or rusty knives, finicky and badly taken care of firearms and dangerous to handle or lesser quality explosives fall under this category. -1 to all rolls. Other equipment in this category will be significantly less useful than normal.
  13.
  14. Tier 1:
  15. Tier 1 equipment is the basics. Not pretty or special in any way, this is nevertheless what most equipment is and what is used by most people who can afford something better than Tier 0. Functional, decently rugged and not likely to crap out on you in the middle of the battle, they also don't help you by their existence. No effect on rolls. Other equipment functions as normal.
  16.
  17. Tier 2:
  18. Tier 2 equipment is of slightly better quality than average, but is correspondingly more expensive as well. Slightly more reliable, a bit more power and better taken care of in general, these weapons are generally for the more well to do types. They are around however, as long as you have the money. +1 on associated rolls, occasionally have extra benefits. Other equipment will provide bonuses based on their purpose.
  19.
  20. Tier 3:
  21. Tier 3 equipment is the best it gets, top quality equipment that is generally pre-fall military equipment found in good storage or some of the limited government production post-fall. Reliable, hard hitting and in new or good as new condition. However it is extremely rare, generally only the military or the most well equipped Mercs have weapons like this. +2 on all associated rolls, often have further benefits. Other equipment will provide even more bonus than before.
  22.
  23.
  24. Ammo:
  25.
  26. Ammo currently comes in three types.
  27.
  28. Poor Quality: Ammo damaged or made from odd sources after the fall. Though generally reliable since nobody takes obviously non-usable rounds, Poor Quality ammo has next to non-existant quality control and generally lesser quality overall. Causes weapon jams on rolls of 5 or lower.
  29.
  30. Standard: Leftover from before the fall or standard quality production from after, this ammo is generally available though slightly more expensive than Handmade. No effect.
  31.
  32. Military Grade: New quality production from after the fall. Rare, expensive and generally only used when you really want to kill what you're shooting at, Military Grade ammo is top of the line. +1 to rolls.
