  1. Full Dialogue Interface (English and international translations of shadwar's Russian NewDialog mod)
  2. Interface revamp by shadwar
  3. English and international translations by Cirosan
  4. Readme translated by [TRANSLATOR'S NAME HERE]
  5. Beta 10
  6.
  7.
  8.
  9. ALL VERSIONS are compatible with both keyboard and gamepad. Changes the interface to a list controlled by the number keys or face buttons, respectively.
  10.
  11. This mod makes the game display the full lines of what your character is going to say in conversation, instead of just a paraphrase.
  12.
  13. Thanks to shadwar's work, it also revamps the interface so that the game will now display dialogue options in a list and use the number keys/face buttons for input, instead of clustering all of them together and forcing you to use the arrow keys.
  14.
  15. THE ORIGINAL AUTHOR, SHADWAR, DESERVES A LOT OF CREDIT. I just made the modded .strings files for English and other languages - THE INTERFACE REVAMP IS 100% SHADWAR'S WORK.
  16. The new files that make the English and international versions of the game display the full lines of dialogue are my own work, however.

  46.
  47. YOU MUST STILL REMEMBER TO EDIT THE Fallout4Custom.ini FILE AS DESCRIBED IN THE README.
  48.
  49. The default option. Vertical brackets separate dialogue options, numbers/face buttons are included to the side of each option, and a background shadow is displayed behind the list of options.
  50.
  51. The default bracketed interface but without numbers.
  52.
  53. Retains the default bracketed format with numbers/face buttons, but does not include a background shadow.
  54.
  55. Similar to the Default (Brackets With Numbers) option, but with horizontal brackets in-between the dialogue options instead of vertical brackets. Still includes the numbers/face buttons and background shadow.
  56.
  57. Similar to the Brackets Without Numbers option, but with horizontal brackets in-between the dialogue options instead of vertical brackets. Still includes the background shadow, but does not include the numbers/face buttons.
  58.
  59. Similar to the Brackets and Numbers but No Shadows option, but with horizontal brackets in-between the dialogue options instead of vertical brackets. Still includes the numbers/face buttons, but does not include the background shadow.
  60.
  61. Similar to the Default (Brackets With Numbers) option, but places small corners on the edges of the dialogue window instead of using brackets. Still includes the numbers/face buttons and background shadow.
  62.
  63. Similar to the Brackets Without Numbers option, but places small corners on the edges of the dialogue window instead of using brackets. Still includes the background shadow, but does not include the numbers/face buttons.
  64.
  65. Similar to the Brackets and Numbers but No Shadows option, but places small corners on the edges of the dialogue window instead of using brackets. Still includes the numbers/face buttons, but does not include the background shadow.
  66.
  67. For those who dislike the bracketed format. Includes only the numbers/face buttons.
  68.
  69. Includes only the numbers/face buttons, without any brackets or the background shadow.
  70.
  71. Includes only the background shadow, without any brackets or the numbers/face buttons.
  72.
  73. Does not include the interface overhaul. Dialogue will still be displayed in the diamond shape and use arrow keys/face buttons. However, a small tweak is included to make text display in proper casing rather than always being in ALL CAPS.
  74.
  75. Copy both the Fallout4 - Interface.ba2 file and the Original BA2 Backup folder into your Fallout 4\Data folder, and overwrite the old BA2 file. Don't worry - the backup file is there if you ever need to restore the original.

  79.
  80.
  81.
  82. Installation
  83. 1. Go to ...\Documents\My Games\Fallout 4\ (typically found in C:\Users\<YourName>\My Documents\My Games\Fallout 4 )
  84. 2. Open your Fallout4Custom.ini file, and add the following lines:
  85.
  86. [Archive]
  87. bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
  88. sResourceDataDirsFinal=
  89.
  90. IF INSTALLING MANUALLY (i.e., not with NMM), there's one last step:
  91. * Choose which interface layout you wish to install (Default, Brackets Without Numbers, etc.). Then click on the folder labeled with your preferred option. Inside that folder, you should see three more folders: Interface, Strings, and EN Strings Backup. Extract THOSE folders to your Fallout 4\Data folder (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data ). Again, don't extract the folder labeled "Default" or "Brackets Without Numbers" or whatever - go INSIDE the folder of your preferred option and extract the three folders in there (Interface, Strings, EN Strings Backup) to your Fallout 4\Data folder.
  92.
  93.
  94.
  95. Method B
  96. If the above doesn't work for you, try the following. If that still doesn't work, skip to Method C, below. Method C is guaranteed to work, but it's recommended to at least try this first as Method C involves directly overwriting files rather than adding new ones. With that being said, Method B involves the following:
  97. 1. Open your Fallout4.ini file, and find the following line:
  98.
  99. sResourceDataDirsFinal=
  100.
  101. 2. Add ", INTERFACE\" (without quotes) to the end of this line, so that it looks like so:
  102.
  103. sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, INTERFACE\
  104.
  105. 3. In the same directory, find Fallout4Prefs.ini, and add the following line under [Launcher]:
  106.
  107. bEnableFileSelection=1
  108.
  109. NOTE: If the interface is not showing up, try adding step 2's modifications to Fallout4_Default.ini located in your root Fallout 4 directory. Further, try adding step 3's additions to the duplicate Fallout4Prefs.ini located in Fallout 4\Fallout 4 (no, this isn't a typo; there's another folder named Fallout 4 inside your root Fallout 4 directory). These steps may be necessary if you are bypassing the launcher.
  110.
  111.
  112.
  113. Method C
  114. Do neither of the above work with your install? This will fix your problems without any additional hassle.
  115.
  116. Simply go to the downloads tab on the mod's page and look for the "Repacked BA2 files" section. Download the one that has the interface format you want (Brackets Without Numbers, Corners With Numbers, etc.). If you're using NMM, you're done. Otherwise, if you're installing manually, follow the instructions included in the Readme.
  117.
  118.
  119.
  120. Uninstallation
  121. 1. Go to Fallout 4\Data\Interface and delete the following file: DialogueMenu.swf
  122. 2. Go to Fallout 4\Data\Interface and delete the following file: MultiActivateMenu.swf
  123. 3. Go to the Strings Backup folder contained in Fallout 4\Data and copy the three files from there into Fallout 4\Data\Strings, overwriting the mod's files
  124.
  125.
  126.
  127. Credits and Final Remarks
  128. Thanks to shadwar for the original NewDialog mod.
  129. Thanks to mcguffin for developing the Fallout 4 Translator utility.
  130. Thanks to ZeroByDivide for the initial build of Full Dialogue Interface's NMM installer.
  131. Thanks to Commander19 for help formatting the full description on the mod page.
  132. Thanks to Stryke131 for the String Patcher tool.
  133. Thanks to x360w for the BA2 Repacker tool.
  134.
  135. This is a beta, and while everything functions perfectly, there may be a few dialogue options here and there that I missed. Let me know if you find something that slipped through the cracks.
  136.
  137. AGAIN: SHADWAR DESERVES THE CREDIT FOR THE INTERFACE PORTION OF THE MOD. DO NOT PESTER HIM ABOUT THE ENGLISH AND INTERNATIONAL VERSIONS - SEND ALL COMMENTS AND CRITICISM TO ME (Cirosan).
  138.
  139. Have fun!
  140. - Ciro
