Oboro: Oh, that’s right. I have to go get everybody’s armor after this. There’s a lot this time, so I better be careful…

Oboro: …Wah! A-Asama…? How long have you been standing there?
Asama: For quite a while now, around the time you started doing embarrassing things like talking to yourself.
Oboro: W-Why didn’t you say anything?! And what about that was embarrassing? I don’t remember saying anything weird!
Asama: No, no, it’s not that. You merrily went on and on about having to do things, and smiled at the thought of everyone being happy about you doing them… and it was your delight at currying favor with others that put me off.
Oboro: Wh-Wh-Wh… What did you say?!
Asama: Gh… Why are you looking at me like that? And what is this growing evil presence? It feels as if my soul is being sent off to be judged…! H-How is it possible for a human to possess such a ghastly aura…?! I can’t stay here any longer! Excuse me!
Oboro: Hey! Asama! Stop right there!

Asama:  Oboro-san, what’s the matter? What’s causing you to make that unpleasant humming noise?
Oboro: It’s not unpleasant! And why do you have to just burst in like that?
Asama: Hm… The clothes on this table here, are they for the royal family? It’s quite a fine assortment of items.
Oboro: They are. These are for ceremonies. I was asked to choose their outfits for the next one. It’s a big honor, isn’t it? They’ve recognized my fantastic clothing sense!
Asama: So that’s why you were making that unpleasant humming earlier.
Oboro: At least say I was doing it happily!
Asama: Ahh, no, no. There you go again, currying favor with the royalty now. What a wretched woman you are…
Oboro: Asama… Could you repeat that?
Asama: Ngh… It’s that same unearthly presence…! If I stay here, I’ll be killed…! I-I must withdraw!
Oboro: Stop right there!
Asama: I will not!
Oboro: I won’t get mad, so stop already! See, I stopped glaring at you.
Asama: …Indeed, the evil presence has disappeared. I shall wait for you. Is there something you wanted to say to me?
Oboro: Hey, Asama… Why do you say those kinds of things when you know people will get mad at you?
Asama: Huh…? Erm, well… about that. It’s a bit difficult to answer…

Oboro: Asama! Hey, Asama!
Asama: Ohh, Oboro-san, it’s you. How are you doing?

Asama: I’ve been thinking about that question you asked me the other day, and I’m just not sure how to answer it…
Oboro: Hm? You mean… Ohh. About why you say things that’ll just get people mad?
Asama: Yes, and I’ve been thinking about it ever since then.
Oboro: I think I have an idea as to why…
Asama: Huh…?! You, who looks to think nothing but shallow thoughts, have found an answer to a question that an esteemed priest could not solve?!
Oboro: You’re so rude…!
Asama: I-I mean, please, tell me your thoughts. I’m very interested to hear.
Oboro: Oh, but should I? Do you really want to hear from someone with shallow thoughts? And you’re always giving me nothing but sarcasm. Maybe I should just keep it a secret to get back at you? Heheh.
Asama: No… Please don’t tease me like that!
Oboro: Whatever, I guess I’ll tell you. It’s simple, Asama. To sum it up, you don’t know any other way of interacting with people, right? That’s why you’re not really saying what you mean, you’re just always cracking jokes as a way to try and get closer to everyone… or something like that.
Asama: To get closer to everyone? I don’t believe my intentions are that noble…
Oboro: You don’t have to hide your embarrassment. I won’t tell anybody.
Asama: I’m not embarrassed. Shame is only a hindrance. But how did you come to that conclusion? You seem to be so confident in it.
Oboro: Back when I was little, I lived near a bully, and that kid did exactly what you’re doing. He was just lonely, but he couldn’t accept it, so he’d always tease and be sarcastic to kids he wanted to get along with.
Asama: I-I see, though I’m not sure I completely understand… Hm… I suppose that’s one explanation for it…
Oboro: Yes, if you think about it, it’ll have you seeing yourself in a new light.
Asama: Haha… Well, let’s leave it at that. Thank you, Oboro-san.
Oboro: W-Wait, why are you thanking me? This is too strange…
Asama: Even I give thanks when it is due. At any rate, it should be good enough for someone as shallow-minded as you.
Oboro: You just keep making these comments, don’t you…

Asama: Yes, I’m the type who bullies the object of his affections, though I had no idea I would be unaware of that fact well into adulthood… This is the truth.

Asama: I’d like to apologize for my teasing… but know that it was done with the intent of wanting you to like me.
Oboro: … Y-Yes, of course. I’m just a little surprised at you being so honest about this… I know you’re not a bad person. I accept your feelings.
Asama: Oboro-san… Thank you. I’m glad I continued to talk that way, it made me realize my feelings towards you.
Oboro: H-Hey, wait! If we’re going to be together, then you need to stop all that!
Asama: Why, of course. Haha… I understand now. Perhaps that bully you mentioned in your past actually liked you.
