  1. backstory > personality/character traits > wanting something/two things or more (motivation: START HERE AND FIND AN INTERESTING MOTIVATION THEN WORK BACKWARDS) > emotion (felt inside) + emotion (displayed outwardly)
  2.
  3. > CHARACTERS WITH ECCENTRICIES ENDURE AND HOLD THE READER - FIERCE DESIRES, STRANGE MANNERISMS, UNRELENTING DRIVE
  4.
  5.
  6. =GWEN STACY
  7. (wants to constantly strive to be a better person even if she has problems doing it well, wants to explore the meaning of this world and how people play a part in it)
  8. >curious, self-motivated, pragmatic, sometimes ignorant of others, can be Machivellian in her approach if she wants to improve something badly enough
  9.
  10. Gwen Stacy is Gwen Stacy's number one project. She starting working on Gwen Stacy since she was 8 and began keeping a journal. "What was good today? What was bad? How can I do better tomorrow?" She's kept this basic structure since then, although now these days she's upgraded to some charts, monitoring her progress. Every day, she wants to be a slightly better person than she was before.
  11.
  12. It hasn't gone as well as she'd hoped. She works hard, granted. And she keeps notes and checkmarks throughout the day for quick review, so that's not the problem - she knows how she's doing. (It's gotten her called names, but the notes are too helpful to ignore. And Liz Allen plants her butt on a huge pinecone every morning anyway.) She's not obsessive about this, though. Make no mistake. But she likes knowing how she's doing.
  13.
  14. But, again, it hasn't gone as well as she'd hoped. Science is great, English too. Math needs help. History is in critical. Mental note: ask Peter for help on that. She learned the hard way that she can't be the best at everything in middle school, so history can suffer a bit, maybe if she brought it up to a C...gym is never good but she doesn't care about that, and besides, she finally went vegetarian after God knows how long and it's only been two weeks but she feels great so...what else? Oh, piano! Yeah, piano needs work. She likes it but she could do better.
  15.
  16. So as you can see, she has a handle on everything. Except everything could be better. But a step at a time, that's how it's done.
  17.
  18. WHEN WEARING THE SYMBIOTE SUIT, these feelings are amplified. She begins to regard everyone as obstacles to the greatness she's trying to achieve, and finds Peter a "burden" to her Spider-Woman operation. Fortunately, Gwen is calm-hearted enough to realize the symbiote's influence, and thanks to Peter's quick thinking, exploits its weakness to sound to defeat it.
  19.
  20.
  21. -Three or four things she values most
  22. friends, family, self-improvement, happiness
  23.
  24. -Three things she fears most
  25. Her father getting injured, losing her friends, getting attacked without protection
  26.
  27. -Basic underlying attitude about life
  28. "You can make life a little better each day."
  29.
  30. -What she needs to know about another person to accept him as trustworthy
  31. Just typical friend level - have some interest in what she has to say, things like that. Time helps, though, and since she's known Peter for a long time, that's why she trusts him with the secret of Spider-Gwen.
  32.
  33. -What would cause her pain more than anything else
  34. To know that somehow she harmed people because of her actions or ambitions
  35.
  36. -What would be the most wonderful thing to happen to her
  37. Winning the lottery would be nice!
  38.
  39. -Three words she'd describe herself with, accurate or not
  40. compassionate, fun, self-motivated
  41.
  42. -How accurate is self-description
  43. She's less "fun" than what most people consider fun. She'll hang out with you but she's not very creative in that department. However, she Is an extremely good listener thanks to her people watching hobby, and will help you try to fix the problem.
  44.
  45. -Exaggerated behaviors or traits:
  46. Makes checkmarks in a notepad after doing activities based on how well she did, sketches people and "rates" them in terms of behaviors she notices
  47.
  48. -sort of an oddball among her peers, like an object of curiousity for her "strange" motivations
  49.
  50.
  51.
  52. =PETER PARKER
  53. -No parents
  54. -Raised lovingly by Aunt May and Uncle Ben
  55. -Two years ago, Aunt May had a heart attack, and as Peter works to support the household, Ben's been using the opportunity to teach him about responsibility. "Everyone's responsible for themselves. We do what we can, sure. We may not have as much power to influence the world as others may do, but no matter how much power we have, we have to wield it responsibly, to help others as well as ourselves. And when you do that...there's no better feeling in the world."
  56.
  57. (wants to solve the world's problems by attacking the roots,
  58.
  59.
  60. (Peter obviously loves Gwen's drive and finds her determination attractive after a while)
  61.
  62. -Basic underlying attitude about life
  63. "No matter how much power you have, it's your responsibilty to use it wisely."
  64.
  65.
  66.
  67.
  68.
  69. =MILES WARREN
  70. -never clones Gwen Stacy because she never died, but he still loves her
  71.
  72.
  73. =MARY JANE WATSON
  74. (wants to revolutionize fields with her ideas, wants to ensure her self image reflects her perceived intelligence [might get defensive and protected when her image is threatened])
  75. MJ wants you to know that she doesn't fit the typical stereotype. Sure, she's pretty, does well in school, and participates in theater, but above all, she has IDEAS. Ideas on how to advance the art of theater to the next level. Well, she's still in the process of developing them - right now she's fishing inspiration from her history textbooks, using a systematic process of comparing theater with other fields - but as far as she's concerned, she's a thinker. And if she has to, she'll let you know. Oh boy, she'll let you know.
  76.
  77. Not that she isn't always philosophizing. She's got her normal concerns too. But above all, great ideas intrigue her. And she has to admit, Peter Parker has some interesting ideas. He's a total newbie to theater, yes, but he does show some interest. And it's fun to explain things to him and watch his eyes dawn with understanding, to watch him speak his own opinions like an equal. If only she could talk to him more. At least more often about theater rather than what organisms he's poking apart today. She listens to be nice...but honestly? Biology sucks.
  78.
  79. But Peter's always hanging out with Gwen Stacy. And Gwen's...all right. MJ doesn't hate her by a long shot, by what little MJ knows about her. But she's just so...odd. And Peter is such a large contrast. He might be a "nerd" (ugh, if only people would act more respectful in her school) but he's far more interesting than he gives himself credit for. And MJ can appreciate that. Gwen? Well...she’s not sure.
  80.
  81. AS VENOM, these desires are amplified. Mary Jane utterly adores Peter's ideas, developing an unhealthy fixation on him, and utterly loathes it when he wastes his time socializing with "deadbeat brains" like Gwen. She also demands that Felicia grow up and forget her fear of Kasady - Felicia still clearly hasn't gotten over it yet - which accidentally primes Felicia to become possessed by Venom's spawn, Carnage.
  82.
  83.
  84. Felicia Hardy: The Femme Fatale
  85. Alias: Carnage
  86. Hair: Blonde
  87. Eyes: Green
  88. Family: Cletus Kasady (uncle)
  89. Superpowers (as Carnage): Superhuman strength, superhuman speed, superhuman stamina, superhuman agility, superhuman reflexes, superhuman durability, accelerated healing factor, wall-crawling, webbing generation, ESP, immunity to Spider-Woman’s ESP, camouflage, constituent-matter generation and manipulation
  90. Personality:
  91. Key Traits:
  92. - Feline
  93. - Outgoing
  94. - Unabashed
  95. - Self-serving, borderline arrogant
  96. - Unrestrained
  97. - Tech-savvy
  98. - Sassy
  99. Bio: [From Titanium Man] A debutante who has successfully buried a lot of bad childhood memories, Felicia attends Gwen’s local high school more out of a desire to stay connected with friends. She doesn’t flaunt her advantages and maintains genuine friendships with Mary Jane and others, having grown up middle-class just like them, but she also doesn’t carry many restrictions beyond any that remind her of past pain. Cletus Kasady, a friend of the family, was entrusted to help her mother care for her during her childhood while Walter Hardy was off building their fortune through “investing”, but Kasady’s secret, slight penchant for severe sexual harrasment tormented Felicia until he was finally discovered, thrashed, and put in jail.
  100. With no father in her life and with Kasady taking advantage of her, Felicia is uncomfortable being alone and uncomfortable around men. But she’s no fool - she knows not all men are this way - so she’s been trying to increase her confidence. It hasn’t been going well - self-defense classes are all fine and good but having normal conversations with guys still needs some work. At her core, she is utterly terrified of falling into the trap of someone like Kasady again. She’s vowed never to let it happen, but when push comes to shove, will she be able to follow through?
  101.
  102.
  103. =THE KINGPIN
  104. (has a bit of dramatic flair which is why he called the suits Venom and Carnage, and why the powersuits he had made are animal-themed)
