Session 1

OD Riku gets dragged into a South American warzone by Commander MacArthur with only a bullet-proof vest, finding a 15-year old standing in a pile of bodies. After a heartwarming reunion surrounded by corpses, with the seemingly near-emotionless Second Child in tow and the OD taking pain meds to forget the horror, they return to Alaska with MacArthur. Ryuzaki creeps out Fabian to the point he needs to chug anxiety meds like water, Vice-Commander Dr. Long manages to piss off all 5 players in very little time. Fabian starts cowering in the corner; Ryuzaki is too cool to give a shit. Ethan tries to hit on Ryuzaki, scaring Fabian even further, before Long drags Ryu off to become even more bored.

Riku ends up in his new Operations Centre as newly appointed OD, complete with his own desk! Before struggling to find the radar. As he eventually finds it, he discovers the presence of a fast-moving Angel moving out of the Arctic Ocean. He VERY SLOWLY decides to go summon the Kids and try to mobilize them. Fabian manages to man up long enough to get to the hangar while Riku does EVERYTHING in the Operations Centre. Angel proves to be incompetent even before fighting by getting lost before figuring out which direction SERF is.

Riku decides to activate a defense line, when EVA launch preperations are already almost done. Angel gives no fucks and jumps straight over the line before continuing to sprint onwards. OD agrees with Pointman Fabian’s idea that he should do his job, and deploys 2 pallet rifles to spread between his 4 EVAs in true Russian form. Ethan spends his turn spreading his AT field, while Fabian neutralises the non-existent AT field of the Angel. Celio lines up for a shot, while Ryu storms in alone.

Riku responds with “The Fuck are you doing, Kid?”, as Ryu slices off the Angel’s arm with surprising efficiency.  Only for energy tentacles to erupt from the stump, which manages to narrowly avoid taking off the EVA’s head.  However, in the Angel’s return attack, it attacks for massive penetration against the EVA’s body.

Ethan proves why Prodigies shouldn’t be allowed guns as he completely misses, Fabian holds the knife the wrong way around, before Celio tries to shoot Ryuzaki in the face full-auto, only to be blocked by Ethan’s AT wall. Command center starts freaking out at the pilots’ general incompetency. Ryu barely manages to miss the Angel with his knife, as it turns into a giant glowstick while preparing a Positron Blast, which Ryu manages to dodge. Ethan again misses, while Fabian fails to hit and Celio once again aims, while Riku promises a steak dinner to whichever pilot manages to actually kill the damned angel.

Ryu once again attempts to gore the Angel, hitting one of its three legs, to which the Angel almost avenges itself, before being parried. The beam again targets Ryu, who manages to once more dodge, before Ethan misses his shot. Fabian hits, digging the Prog. Knife into the beast’s left leg. Celio fires another full-auto, actually hitting twice this time, against the body of the Angel. Ryu once again carves against the Angel, hitting the core with the Prog. Knife. The Angel strikes back, catching Ryu off guard as he fails to parry, while the OD keeps asking his techies if he can eject the pod. The Angel bisects Ryu’s EVA and Entry Plug, carving deep into Ryu, likely scarring him for life, at which point the OD finally freaks out and insists on an ejection.

Ethan attempts to flare up his AT field, but the Angel manages to avoid falling for such a simple trick. However, the EVA of Ryu manages to regrow its bisected lower limbs as it goes completely beserk.

Ethan and Fabian both miss. As does Celio, after Ethan throws him his last two bullets. OD orders supply caches all around. Ryu’s berserk EVA fails to hit the Angel entirely. Command is confused as the Angel’s energy signature changes. Ryu once again dodges while Fabian is stuck within the blast. However, Ethan manages to save him with an AT wall, before once again missing. Fabian once again misses, as does Celio, while Ryan once again manages a glancing blow with the Prog. Knife. After masterfully parrying the Angel’s response, and dodging the follow up attack.

Ethan misses, as does Fabian, while Celio proves why professionals should actually aim. Ryu manages to damage the beast enough to force it to disengage, as it sprints at Ethan, goring his EVA’s chest on its charge, making the cowardly Ethan flee back, before he full-auto’s the beast , tearing into its left leg. Fabian follows up the trend of success, hitting the beast. Celio aims, while Ryuzaki fails to hit.

The Angel misses, while Ethan hits once more with the Pallet Rifle, and Fabian hits again with the Prog. Knife, scoring a solid, deep hit on the leg, removing it from the body. Celio opens up with FULL AUTO BULLET HELL, and thanks to his aiming actually hits. Ryu once again hits, slicing up the tentacle beast’s third and final leg. The Angel launches an attack which catches Ethan in the blast, and although Fabian fails to dodge far enough to escape. Ryu launches his EVA free and Ethan applies an AT wall in defense. Fabian once again hits, as does Celio who gives up on shooting to start goring its leg with the Prog. Knife. Ryu moves in and joins the group of EVA’s stabbing the monster.

The Angel’s readings go off the charts as Riku casually remarks “What the fuck is going on?” to his cup of coffee. Ryu manages to dodge in time, while the Angel’s core explodes. The blast melts away the head of Fabian’s EVA, causing untold trauma, as he’s left pawing at his head to make sure it’s still there while muttering “I’M FINE, I’M FINE, I’M FINE, I’M FINE, I’M FINE, I’M FINE, I’M FINE, I’M FINE, I’M FINE, I’M FINE…”, while Celio’s EVA’s left arm is vaporised with such force he himself begins bleeding and Ethan barely avoids being cooked like a microwavable burrito within the Entry Pod.

MISSION COMPLETE. BEST END.

Riku, in perhaps his best bit of operation directing so far, manages to manually remove Ethan’s Entry Plug to quickly cool it in the ocean, stopping the rate at which he cooks, while preparing to manually remove Celio, Ryu and Fabian’s EVA’s by VTOL. Sharon, having slipped away from the Command Room earlier, tries battering on Celio’s EVA to open it, failing, but bringing a smile to the poor boy’s face as he passes out.
