1. >You are Anon
2. >And you and Princess Celestia have talked for a good, long while
3. >You started with back home, Earth, where you grew up, and what it was like
4. >You explained how you arrived in Equestria your first time, the passing through the ground, the colorful portal
5. >You explained leaving again, with the grey portal back to Earth
6. >You explained that eight years have passed since then in your time, and you found yourself back in Equestria in much the same way
7. >She listened intently, asking questions when clarification was desired, which you gladly gave
8. >You conversed and conversed
9. >Eventually, you found yourself at the end of your tale
10. >Celestia nods with her eyes closed
11. >”…that is indeed most peculiar, Anonymous…” she states
12. >You nod your head in agreement, hands still in coat pockets
13. >You wish you had your basketball with you, but you’re pretty sure Rainbow Dash took it with her off the train
14. >Well, it’d be rude to bounce it in here anyway
15. >”What I’m most hung up over are these portals that seem to exist between our worlds,” she says, “and how you are able to access them.”
16. >You just shrug
17. I’m just a regular guy, Princess. Could it all be coincidence?
18. >She shakes her head
19. >”To happen upon such magic twice, being taken to this world? I find that highly unlikely.”
20. >You nod in agreement
21. >Yeah, what ARE the odds of that?
22. >”I know of such portals, however.” She says, beginning to pace the room a bit
23. >”They’re old, arcane pieces of magic. They haven’t been used in some time…”
24. >She returns back from her lengthy pace
25. >”It doesn’t surprise me much some are still about the land. Why these ones are linking to Earth, though… I haven’t an idea.”
26. >You nod, just out of habit at this point
27. But what about the Earth portals?
28. >You ask
29. Why do those exist? There isn’t any magic in my world.
30. >She raises an eyebrow
31. >”Are you certain, Anonymous? I believe there to be magic in every world.”
32. Well…
33. >You kick the ground with your foot, looking down to it
34. Nobody’s casting any spells over on Earth, that’s for sure.
35. >Celestia focuses on you
36. >”Anonymous, may I ask a favor of you?”
37. >You look back up to her
38. Sure, I suppose.
39. >”I ask if I may scan your body for any traces of what could be identified as ‘magic.’”
40. >You look to your left, then right
41. >Out of confusion, mostly
42. Umm… yeah, go for it.
43. >She nods, then closes her eyes for a moment
44. >Reopening them, she walks up to you, horn glowing
45. >She places it to your chest
46. >A yellow aura surrounds you, and a warm feeling engulfs your body
47. >This lasts for about ten seconds, then she backs away
48. >She sits in thought for a moment
49. >”…your blood, Anonymous.”
50. >Your… blood?
51. My… blood?
52. >”Yes. It seems there are traces of magic in your blood. Small, but it is there. Circulating through your body.”
53. >You’re a little confused
54. So… does that mean I could cast spells…?
55. >She shakes her head
56. >”No, this isn’t anything you can channel. But it could have been acting as a magnet of sorts to these portals.”
57. >She closes her eyes in thought again
58. >”Based on the amount you possess, I’d theorize most humans either have far more than you, or none.”
59. >She reopens them
60. >”In other words, humans should either be very magical creatures, or ones that lack said ability completely.”
61. >You’re confused
62. >But there certainly aren’t any wizards roaming Earth
63. >But… it’s in your blood
64. >Perhaps, long, long ago… there were such magicians
65. >Celestia herself said every world should have magic
66. >Did it die out?
67. >And you just seem to have remnants of some past, wizard ancestor?
68. >Hereditary magic…?
69. >This is far too complicated for you to try to be thinking about
70. >”I don’t think we could ever know for sure,” she says, interrupting your thought process
71. >You agree with her. There’s no true way of knowing
72. >”I have one more topic to ask you about, Anonymous.”
73. >You stretch your back out a bit
74. Why not? Ask away.
75. >”The p0ny who put you through those trouble six months ago… Fluttershy…”
76. >Your chest rings in shock
77. >But yeah… she was right there when that aerial dogfight between Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy was happening
78. Yes?
79. >”Have you seen her since your re-arrival? How are her ties with her friends?”
80. >Like that, you’re on the spot again
81. >Fluttershy’s threat still lingers with you
82. >But… this isn’t Twilight, or Rainbow Dash… could you tell her?
83. >She’s the benevolent ruler of the land, surely she could help in some way…
84. >What do you do?
85. …yeah, I’ve seen her, Princess.
86. >”And what came of this visit? What was the reason?”
87. >You can see curiosity and worry in her eyes
88. …I wanted to talk to her. Sort that whole thing out that happened all those years ago. It still kind of resonates with me…
89. >Celestia lets out what seems like a sigh of relief
90. >”You want to repair ties with Fluttershy?”
91. …as crazy as it sounds, Princess, yes, I do. And hers with her friends, too.
92. >You look over to the doorway where Dash and Twilight left some time ago
93. I don’t want to feel responsible for destroying their friendship. And I know that Fluttershy can see things my way if I could just get through to her.
94. >Celestia nods
95. >”…thank you, Anonymous,” she says, “this is exactly what I was hoping to hear.”
96. >You turn curiously to her
97. Why’s that, Princess?
98. >She sits up and begins her mild pacing again
99. >”Those six friends… together, they are able to wield and control power relics called the Elements of Harmony. Such power has saved our land on multiple occasions.”
100. >You’re a little shocked to hear this
101. >Those six mares are heroes?
102. >”But it is essential that their friendship must be strong and powerful for the elements to be used properly.”
103. >She turns to you
104. >”Since your departure six months ago, I’ve felt that tie break down considerably.”
105. >That makes sense…
106. Actually… Twilight and Rainbow Dash are less than happy about what she did.
107. >”I feared so.”
108. >How bizarre…
109. >You had a few reasons for wanting to talk with and get through to Fluttershy. One of them happened to be for the safety of the land
110. >And you didn’t even know
111. >”What happened during this visit? The bond is still weak.”
112. >You inhale deeply and sigh
113. >Should you tell her?
114. >She’s only trying to help…
115. …I tried to get through to her. She attempted to… force herself onto me again, but I’m fit enough for that not to have been a problem.
116. >Celestia is listening intently
117. But… once she realized that wouldn’t work, she used some kind of… stare on me.
118. >Her eyes widen at the word “stare”
119. At that point… I was immobilized. With quick thinking I was able to get out of there unscathed, but… I’m terrified to try to talk with her again knowing she has power over me like that.
120. >Celestia nods once more and closes her eyes in thought
121. >”I’m familiar with this stare…” she starts, “such a glare pits the two minds together, burrowing into each other, completely incapacitating the weaker.”
122. >Sounds exactly like what happened to you
123. So… what can I do about it?
124. >She turns to you
125. >And smiles
126. >”We must strengthen your mind.”
127. >Strengthen your mind?
128. >Can she do that?
129. >”I know of somep0ny who can help you with this, but…”
130. >She gazes out the window to the night sky
131. >”…it is very late, Anonymous. Perhaps you should get some rest.”
132. >She turns back to you
133. >”You will meet this helper soon enough.”
134. >Well, now that you think about it, you ARE really tired
135. Yeah, tomorrow sounds better for me anyway,
136. >You say
137. …thanks for everything, Princess.
138. >She smiles at you
139. >”Of course, Anonymous. I must do my best for all my subjects”
140. >All her subjects…
141. >You’re a subject?
142. >Such a statement… warms you up inside
143. >Celestia shows you to your room, then takes her leave to her own quarters
144. >Rainbow Dash and Twilight must have already gone to bed
145. >You change into your game attire and slip into the bed
146. >You close your eyes and begin to drift off…
147. >When suddenly
148. >Your door creaks
149. >You snap your eyes back open
150. >You push yourself up to a sitting position and look toward the large open wooden doors
151. >The silhouette of a pegasus stands
152. >Your mind immediately goes to Fluttershy
153. >Oh fucking shit
154. >”Anon?”
155. >You hear
156. >That voice…
157. >It isn’t Fluttershy
158. Yeah, Dash?
159. >She steps into the room, closing the doors
160. >You can see her a little clearer
161. >”I…. I can’t get to sleep…”
162. >She looks down at the ground
163. >”Would it be alright if… if I slept with you tonight?”
164. >Sleeping in the same bed with a p0ny…
165. >You’ve already been over this with Twilight and Fluttershy
166. >But…
167. >This is Rainbow Dash
168. >Probably your best friend here
169. >Would it be alright?
170. >What about what they were talking about in the train cabin
171. >Would this be… leading her on?
172. >You don’t dwell on it too much
173. >You start to feel a little bad for her
174. >Coming all this way to ask this
175. Sure, Dash. Come on up.
176. >You say, patting the side of your bed
177. >She looks up to you and smiles
178. >She trots over and hops up into the bed, getting comfortable
179. >”Thanks, Anon.”
180. Don’t worry about it.
181. >And with that, you re-adjust yourself comfortable and drift off into sleep…
182.
183.
Optional background music for this segment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nenLowRQsog
184. >You feel an odd sensation all over your body
185. >Like you’re falling
186. >You open your eyes
187. >You’re drifting downward slowly
188. >Everything around you is dark
189. >You snap a little more alert and look around
190. >Dark everywhere
191. >Except…
192. >There’s a speck of light below you
193. >It grows bigger and bigger as you drift downward
194. >Eventually, you make out what it is
195. >It appears to be a circular platform of stained glass
196. >It is decorated with the mane 6, with Fluttershy front and center
197. >How peculiar…
198. >Eventually, you land down softly on this platform
199. >You wander the amount of space you can
200. >To the edge of the platform
201. >You gaze out into the area of darkness
202. >How solemn and lonely it is here
203. >Suddenly, a sound gets your attention from behind you
204. >The clop of a hoof
205. >You dart around to see the source of the noise
206. >There, in the middle of the platform, stands Fluttershy
207. >She’s glaring at you
208. >Not The Stare, just… glaring
209. Fluttershy…
210. >You say, stepping out toward her
211. What are you—
212. >Cutting you off, she pounces toward you
213. >Slamming her front hooves into your chest, she topples you over
214. >She sits atop you
215. >You grip your hands under her and push
216. >You push as hard as you can
217. >But… she won’t budge
218. >She leans her head down and starts kissing your neck
219. >You ring your hand around her neck and chin and push
220. >Not to strangle her, but to push her away
221. >It’s… not working
222. >Why are you so weak?
223. >You struggle and struggle, but…
224. >She has you pinned
225. >Her kisses make their way down your body
226. F-Fuck!
227. >You yell, straining your muscles as hard as you can against her
228. >She lifts her head and glares at you again
229. >Then smirks
230. >Her body begins to dissipate
231. >As if she was made of dust, being blown away in the wind
232. >Eventually, she is gone
233. >You sit up from the ground, looking around
234. >What happened…?
235. >”The Human Anonymous…”
236. >You hear from around you
237. >You dart your head from left to right
238. Hello?
239. >You hear the strong sound of beating of wings from above you
240. >A figure glides down slowly and lands on the platform
241. >A dark, winged unicorn with the emblem of the moon around her neck stands before you
242. >Her tail and mane flow with star night beauty
243. >”Greetings. We are Princess Luna, guardian of the night and dreams.”
244. >You stand back up
245. >Princess Luna?
246. >”Our sister has told us you desire help with the strengthening of your mind.”
247. >Oh, she must be Celestia’s sister
248. Yeah.
249. >You say
250. So… this is a dream?
251. >She nods
252. >”What better way to train your mind, than in your mind?”
253. >You glance around
254. >So… this must be the physical representation of your mind
255. >Princess Luna approaches you closer
256. >”We observed that display against the one called Fluttershy.”
257. >She did?
258. >Maybe she knows what’s going on
259. Princess, why was I so weak? Why couldn’t I budge her?
260. >The Princess closes her eyes
261. >”We are in your mind, The Human Anonymous. That was not your physical display of strength, but your mental.”
262. >You absorb that statement
263. >Makes sense…
264. >Luna’s eyes and horn flash for a second
265. >”Let us adjust your body to reflect that.”
266. >Suddenly, you feel yourself begin to shrink
267. >You look at your hands and arms as they decrease size
268. >You feel yourself grow shorter
269. >Then, it stops
270. >You frantically look at your body
271. L-Luna…
272. >You’re shocked at the pitch of your voice
273. What did you do?
274. >She gets even closer, now looking down at you, rather than vice versa
275. >”We have adjusted your body to match the strength of your mind. The symbolic link of physical and mental strength will be represented as such here.”
276. >She turns and begins walking away
277. >Well… twelve years old in Equestria again, it seems…
278. >”But…”
279. >She begins to add
280. >”Even just standing here, we realize…”
281. >A disembodied door appears in front of her, at the end of the platform
282. >”You do possess the strength of the mind and willpower to stand against the one called Fluttershy.”
283. >You absorb her words once more
284. >”It resides here. But…”
285. >A lock appears, and clamps down over the door
286. >”You must be ready to claim it.”
287. >She turns back to you
288. >”Do you understand, The Human Anonymous?”
289. >You take a deep breath
290. I do, Princess Luna.
291. >”Good.”
292. >She walks slowly over towards you, and stops at the middle of the platform
293. >”Let us begin.”
294. >With that, her horn flashes
295. >Princess Luna and the platform itself dissipate, not unlike Fluttershy did
296. >You can feel the world morph around you
297. >You close your eyes for a second
298. >Reopening them, you notice yourself inside Fluttershy’s cottage
299. >The lights are off, and you sense a feeling of intense isolation
300. >As if no place exists outside the boundaries of this cottage
301. >You take a deep breath
302. >This must be a trial put forth by Princess Luna
303. >You step forward further into the cottage, but the downstairs seems abandoned
304. Hello?
305. >You call out
306. >No answer
307. >After lapping the main floor, you decide to head up the stairs
308. >To Fluttershy’s room
309. >You climb each step
310. >Each lift of the leg feels heavier than the last
311. >Until you reach the top
312. >And turn the corner into Fluttershy’s room
313. >You breach the threshold, and see the yellow mare herself staring out the window, facing away from you
314. >You gather your strength
315. Fluttershy.
316. >Her ears twitch to her name
317. >”You came.” She states
318. >You raise an eyebrow in curiosity
319. Yes, I did.
320. >“Good.”
321. >She turns around to face you
322. >Her eyes shoot daggers into your soul when they meet yours
323. >Instantly, you freeze up
324. >Shit! This wasn’t supposed to happen
325. >Fluttershy takes a step toward you
326. >As she does, she splits down the middle, multiplying into another Fluttershy
327. >Now two Fluttershys take steps toward you
328. >You’re baffled, and still cannot move
329. >Each step they take, they divide, freeing more and more Fluttershys into the room
330. >Until they circle around you
331. >All glaring at you with their demonic eyes
332. >You’re completely immobilized
333. >You fall to your knees, incapable of defending yourself
334. >They’re closing in
335. >Closer and closer they come, until they engulf you
336. >Dogpiling you, melting on top of you, smothering you
337. >You close your eyes and thrash around, trying to resist
338. >Until you feel the weight slowly lift from your body
339. >You reopen your eyes, and to your surprise, you are no longer in Flutterrshy’s room
340. >But rather, the stained-glass platform from before
341. >You sit up from the ground, Princess Luna eyes you from across the stage
342. >”The Human Anonymous… that was most pitiful.” She says, with much disappointment in her voice, “We know you are capable of so much more.”
343. >You stand to your feet
344. I’m sorry, Princess, but… that was overwhelming.
345. >She shakes her head
346. >”Only because you perceive it that way.”
347. >She steps immediately to your person, and looks down at you
348. >Thinking
349. >”Allow us to show it in a manner more comfortable to yourself.”
350. >Her horn flashes once more, and the platform around you dissipates again
351. >You close your eyes, just as before
352. >When you open them, you notice yourself in your University’s gymnasium
353. >You are at the freethrow line, in your game jersey
354. >The skyscrapers of opponents you faced before arriving in Equestria stare you down from around the key
355. >With your twelve year old body, they absolutely tower over you
356. >They say nothing, only glare
357. >The stands are absolutely packed with fans and observers, but they make no noise
358. >All eyes are on you
359. >The referee walks over to you and hands you a basketball
360. >You know what to do
361. >You bounce the ball once or twice, then take your shot
362. >Swish
363. >But there is no applause for your basket
364. >The ref reclaims the ball, then gives it to you
365. >Your opponents eye you viciously
366. >You meet their gaze, but brush it off
367. >Bouncing the ball once more, you take your shot
368. >Another swish
369. >The skyscrapers’ eyes lighten up, and they too dissipate
370. >The dust they leave behind swirls together, forming a shape
371. >Princess Luna constructs herself
372. >”That was a phenomenal display, The Human Anonymous.”
373. >The court and fans also dissipate to dust, blowing away in the wind
374. >You stand once more at the stained-glass platform
375. >”Do you see it now?” She asks, “What you are capable of simply by focusing your mind?”
376. >You think it over for a second
377. Yes, Princess, but… I’m trained to handle that kind of pressure. I’m an athlete.
378. >She nods
379. >”Yes, and this is why you already hold the potential to resist the one called Fluttershy within you.”
380. >She steps slowly toward the locked door
381. >”You may think pressure at a sporting event and holding your mind strong against a psychological attack are very different. However…”
382. >She stamps her hoof and turns toward you
383. >”They are much the same!”
384. >She turns from the door, back to you
385. >”You focus your mind and calm yourself to relieve such pressures, do you not?”
386. >You’ve never really thought about it that way…
387. Yes, Princess. I suppose I do.
388. >”Your mind was forged to never feel the strain of worry, or crack under the pressures of your peers. Is this not correct?”
389. This is correct, Princess.
390. >She stamps her hoof again
391. >”Then prove it to us!”
392. >With her stamp, the platform dissipates once more
393. >You close your eyes and take a deep breath
394. >You know what’s coming
395. >You open them again
396. >You’re in a dark, open field at night
397. >You seem to be surrounded by some creepy, lightless forest
398. >You believe you recognize such a forest from around Fluttershy’s cottage
399. >”There you are.”
400. >You hear from behind you
401. >You recognize the voice
402. >You were expecting her
403. >You turn around, and become face-to-face with Fluttershy
404. >She’s glaring at you
405. >You try your hardest to focus
406. >Just like basketball…
407. >Just like how you’ve been trained since you were six years old
408. >It’s just like pressure…
409. >You’re good with pressure
410. >Her eyes flare open, and her pupils focus and dig into yours
411. >She’s initiated The Stare
412. >You can feel the force bump against your own consciousness
413. >Just like basketball! You keep telling yourself
414. >You widen your own eyes and focus
415. >You’re doing well
416. >The strain isn’t nearly as bad as it was in reality
417. >It’s like pushing through a tough rep at the gym
418. >The force is there, sure, but you can overcome it
419. >Fluttershy continues her Stare
420. >She divides down the middle, and like before, becomes two
421. >Double the Stare is now upon you
422. >But you don’t falter
423. >You hold your eyes and mind strong, darting them between the two yellow mares
424. >They each divide
425. >And divide
426. >And divide
427. >You are once again surrounded
428. >But unlike before, you hold your ground
429. >Just
430. >Like
431. >Basketball
432. >And just like that, you don’t even budge
433. >They close in
434. >You hold your ground
435. >One Fluttershy walks immediately up to your short, twelve-year-old body and glares at you immediately in the eye
436. >You hold strong, glaring right back
437. >Immediately face-to-face
438. …get the fuck out of here, Fluttershy.
439. >She squints her eyes
440. >And she dissipates
441. >Her clones dissipate as well
442. >And the open field around you follows suit
443. >You close your eyes, basking in the sweet feeling of victory
444. >You enter a sort of trance
445. >Soaking in your own glory
446. >But don’t let it go to your head, Anon
447. >Who knows how different it may be in real life
448. >”The Human Anonymous.”
449. >You hear
450. >You reopen your eyes
451. >You’re back at the platform
452. >Everything seems… lower
453. >You glance to your arms and body
454. >You slap your hands to your face
455. >You did it
456. >You’re a young adult again
457. >Twenty never felt so sweet
458. >”Superb, The Human Anonymous. We knew you had the power.”
459. >You hear a snapping kind of sound
460. >You turn your attention to the door
461. >The lock has broken and fallen off the door
462. >Princess Luna smiles at you, and nods
463. >She, like so many other things in your dream, dissipates
464. >You step towards the disembodied door, grip its handle, and open it
465. >Behind it are steps made of light, climbing higher and higher into the dark sky
466. >You plant a foot firmly down on the first step and begin to climb
467. >You climb the stairs for a good long while
468. >Until you begin to notice another platform
469. >The stairs connect to it, and you approach from under
470. >At the top, you approach another stained-glass decorated platform
471. >This one is of you
472. >Two of you, actually
473. >A young, child Anon grasps a basketball with both hands, head down, eyes closed
474. >At his back, an older, young adult Anon holds another basketball in one hand, other hand in his coat pocket, head down, eyes closed
475. >In the center of the platform is a pedestal, which holds a ball of light of sorts
476. >From behind the pedestal, Princess Luna emerges
477. >”The Human Anonymous.”
478. >You approach both her and the pedestal simultaneously
479. >”Here, in the center of your consciousness, is the strength you require to stand against the one called Fluttershy.”
480. >You give her a nod of understanding
481. >”You have demonstrated here your ability to claim it. We are most proud.”
482. Thank you, Princess.
483. >”Take it, and let it temper your mind.”
484. >She begins to dissipate once more
485. >”May our paths cross again sometime, The Human Anonymous, perhaps in the world of the waking.”
486. You give her a thumbs up.
487. >She acknowledges this gesture, as if she understands it
488. >Being in your mind, she most likely does
489. >And with that, she vanishes
490. >You gaze over to the ball of light
491. >You pick it up, it floating above your palms
492. >It slowly guides itself into your chest
493. >Immediately, you feel a warm sensation all over your body
494. >It courses through your veins, before journeying up to your head and planting itself
495. >It’s a powerful feeling
496. >With that, you begin to feel the world melt around you
497. >The world of sleep is leaving you
498.
499. >You open your eyes
500. >You’re in bed, in your room at the castle
501. >You hear snoring
502. >You turn to your left
503. >Rainbow Dash is cuddled up next to you, snoring lightly
504. >You pat her on her head
505. >You begin to dwell over the dream events you experienced
506. >Clearly it was real
507. >It felt so
508. >And you feel a newfound power resonating in you mind
509. >Wherever Princess Luna is on this lonely, starlit night, she has helped you immensely, and you owe her a debt
510. >Suddenly, you hear a gasps of sorts
511. >You dart your eyes over towards your door
512. >It’s open
513. >How long has it been?
514. >You’re sure Rainbow Dash closed it when she came in
515. >You sit up in bed
516. >Is that a… silhouette?
517. >Before you can react, it darts to the right of the door
518. >The sound of clopping hooves resonate down the hall
519. Hey!
520. >You call out
521. >You hop out of bed and jog down to the door
522. >Rainbow Dash rolls over slightly and continues sawing logs
523. >You exit the door and look down the hall
524. >The silhouette just rounded a corner
525. >You give chase, your bare feet slapping against the cold tile
526. >You twist around the corner
527. >There it is, down the hall
528. >You book it into an all out sprint
529. >If that’s who you think it is…
530. >Rounds another corner
531. >You give chase
532. >You see it dart into a room
533. >You sprint over to the room and turn in yourself
534. >It’s well lit
535. >You slowly walk in and observe your surroundings
536. >Seems to be a study of some sort…
537. >Suddenly, the heavy doors slam behind you
538. >You turn to look at them
539. >How did they…?
540. >”Anon…”
541. >You turn your head back around
542. >Just as you thought…
543. >You swore you saw her on the train
544. >And in the crowd outside the castle
545. >She followed you here…
546. >Fluttershy stands at the end of the room
547. >Your eyes meet
548. >…good, she brought the party to you
549. >Less effort on your part
550. Fluttershy, what do you intend to get out of this?
551. >She looks to you with such big, innocent eyes
552. >”Y-Your love, Anon…”
553. >She shyly looks away
554. I can’t offer you that.
555. >She turns back to you
556. Allow me to offer something else.
557.
