- Has been an issue on Linux Mint & Manjaro
- Occurs about 1-2 times a week on average, usually goes a week or so without happening (different pattern on two prior distros)
- Connection will either a) slow down then disconnect, then reconnect but without internet access, or b) drop/fizzle for 10-ish minutes before dying for good even without a literal disconnect
- VPN will sometimes disconnect too, but not often
- Occasionally the connection will fade for about 10-15 minutes without dropping for good, then goes back to normal
- Restart fixes problem, rarely if ever an issue follow restart
- may be affecting qBittorent – connection will fade/drop during some downloads but return to normal if download is paused
- downloads are occasionally very slow/slow down/fluctuate in speed even with connection working properly – but that’s almost certainly a qBittorent thing and something that ought to be addressed seperately
- VPN kill switch – enabled, works, but usually doesn’t work upon startup. VPN (Private Internet Access) starts up automatically, and with kill switch enabled should prevent connection from, er, connecting before VPN server connects. Typically, though, I have a working connection prior to server connection. Unsure if this is related, this was not a problem on Windows 10 so for all I know it may be involved with this (there must be a more coherent way to word all this)
- this issue does not affect any other device in the house and was not a problem on Windows
