Persy says "Anabel was a constable in Piltover before an unscrupulous Zaunite scientist experimented on her, grafting her permanently into massive hextech armor; she escaped and returned home, but is now too scary-seeming to integrate back into Piltover society. She no longer sees a real reason to live, and is basically looking for a good cause to sacrifice herself for."
Persy says "Aileron is a human Zaunite scientist who defected to Demacia because of his home's cold, unfeeling culture. Obsessed with flight, he has built several flying machines, trying ta convince Demacia to found an air force; he's in the Institute of War with his custom-built jetwings to prove the concept an' show how important air superiority is."
Persy says "Desiree is a native of Bilgewater, who grew up in the rough and tumble pirate port, associating with crooks and criminals and cads. Unlike Miss Fortune or Gangplank, she turned her talents to charm and enchantment rather than direct combat, and wins her battles through allure and confusion instead of violence."
Persy says "Dr. Beeglebox is a Yordle inventor; his allegiance is nominally to Bandle city but he's travelled all over picking up ideas and tech. He loves testing himself and his tools against new challenges, and always fights wearing a Doctor-Octopus-type harness with four prehensile tentacles, and a bag of unusual tricks."
Persy says "Fantasm used to be a Noxian dreamwalker wizard, until he tangled with nightmares too many times and became possessed by them. Now he is more nightmare than man, an avatar of fear, who will literally terrify his enemies to death."
Persy says "Ludicrous is largely an enigma. Many men have been driven to the brink of madness by looking into the void, becoming torn of mind and shattered of soul. Ludicrous, on the other hand, seemed to rather enjoy it. A slender figure in a robe of ever-shifting patterns, nobody knows what Ludicrous' origin is or even what gender they are. Their powers deal with chaos and portals."
Persy says "Magda is a cursed Demacian; an artist by preference, her curse causes her to gain incredible strength, speed, and magic whenever she becomes enraged. She was conscripted by the Demacian military and equipped ta be one of their champions, but is really fighting for her freedom."
Persy says "Mia is from the Freljord, and her past is not really well known. She is a slight, gentle girl with ice-based magic as strong as Lissandra's, but she mostly used it to heal and build - despite being dealdy when need be. She entered the Institute in the hopes of reconcilin' Sejuani and Ashe and bringing peace back to the Freljord."
Persy says "Paddywinks is an eccentric yordle from Bandle City, though his current home and allegiance are Ionia. He considers himself an anti-thief, having spent years hiding gifts for people at various holidays. He entered the Institute to help people. Who? Doesn't matter. He has normal pointy yordle ears but usually hides them under a furry white rabbit-eared cap."
Persy says "Ruby is a young Rakkorian from Mt. Targon, who ran away from the violent, regimented society like many do, but unlike almost anyone survived. She befriended the wolves in the forest at the foot of Mt. Targon, and over several years they came to rely on each other. She has entered the Institute in the company of the enormous alpha wolf she named Joaquin, who would do *anything* for her."
Persy says "And Spindleshanks is a yordle bard from Bandle City, a cheerful and friendly soul who uses music and misdirection in his battles. He 'fights' mostly without doing damage directly, and goes into battle grinning and wearing a one-man band. He may be the only Champion to give his reason for entering the Institute as 'Eh, why not?'"
