  1. “ . . . obert! Robert! Please wake up! Oh please . . . !”
  2. The sun was warming my wet body as I regained my consciousness. However I could feel raindrops falling from the sky onto my face as I was slowly understanding what was happening around me. I opened my eyes and after being blinded for a few seconds I found a blonde man with a rather fit physique bent over me and – crying?
  3. “Dakota?”
  4. He was still shivering and looked almost terrified when he heard me speak. Each muscle in his face was visible as he tried to smile.
  5. “R-Robert! You are OK!”
  6. I still didn’t really get what was going on but at least it wasn’t actual rain, which would’ve ruined my day. Watching a grown man cry over and onto you felt really weird, though. I tried to get up and leave.
  7. “Ugh, I guess I’m fine, so thanks fo- ACK!”
  8. I felt two strong arms holding me like the protagonist on the cover of a women romance novel, keeping me from hitting the harsh sand after collapsing from sudden back and stomach pain.
  9. “I have called for help, they should be here any minute. Please just stay still for a while . . . ”
  10. This was awkward. The tears on the man’s face I just had met a few minutes ago dried up leaving him with red eyes. And yet his goatee and his silly half-smile were all I could focus on.
  11. “Can you hold me a little longer like this then, please? And . . . ”
  12. Dakota, that was his name, right? His eyes were wide open and nodding his head signaling he was waiting for me to go on.
  13. “. . . can you please explain to me what is going on?”
  14. “Well, it’s a bit complicated.” He brushed his hair with his hand while looking to the side. “We had a Pokemon battle, like trainers always do, and when it was over you fell off your Sharpedo into the water. I should’ve gone after you immediately but . . . I was just so shocked . . . so when I brought you to the beach and called for help you weren’t breathing anymore . . . “
  15. Seeing him twitch in horror, I brought my hand to his cheek to feel his soft skin.
  16. “Thanks then, Dakota.”
